Very good Food and very Quick delivery

We received an excellent welcome from the incredibly knowledgeable staff who assisted us with our menu selections. Our food arrived promptly, and we even received a discount for paying in cash. The restaurant is beautifully designed and very elegantly arranged. The food is outstanding and truly worth every cent.

It was absolutely fantastic! The staff was friendly, and the service was great. I would definitely return again!

We came as a walk in table for 2.Ordered from the Purple tiger, food was great and the service for the bottomless drinks was really attentive.I expected it to be slow with us ordering cocktails but our server Tierney made sure we had the most from our time and was efficient and friendly.Will definitely come again and recommend.

Outstanding restaurant! The food quality is remarkable, and the staff is wonderful. This is definitely the best Indian cuisine in Taunton.

The is one of the best Indian meals we have had for a very long time. We had people who had never had Indian before and it was lovely to order different types of meals with different spicy ratings which we easy to understand on the website.

All food was cold. Both curries were very watery and bland. Will not be buying again!

Great flavors and good sized portions. Could do with using a warm bag to keep food hotter, especially when delivery address is out of town.

An absolute Corker! Everything hot, tidy and ‘right’👌 vindaloo is a a bit light on meat but the sauce was great. Included was a complimentary veg curry…. So I will review that as it went very well with the garlic naan. The veg curry sauce was flavourful but not hot so you could sprinkle some extra heat to your liking, it was unctuous and the main point is that it was made with fresh vegetables!!!! Many others just tip a bag of frozen veg… sweet corn etc… into a sauce… this was proper👍

Very satisfied with my takeaway. The Vindaloo curry is spicy enough. Sag aloo and peshwari naan are highly recommended.

I ordered the Pasanda Chicken, among other dishes. While the portions were generous, the taste was disappointing. The Pasanda Chicken was unexpectedly sweet, lacking the authentic Indian flavors I was hoping for. However, the service was courteous, and the delivery was fast.

Great food, very tasty and the best Naan had in ages. Now a licensed Indian so they do need to advertise /update website as we took our own drinks as we'd done previously. They were kind enough to allow us to drink our own which they didn't have to do. Very friendly staff. Our small group of 4 , only ones dinning so no atmosphere. Doing lots of phone orders. However, didn't spoil our experience and nice to hear proper Indian music playing rather than Britney Spears, Michael Jackson and such like. Would happily revisit.

Good food but nearly 2 hours from ordering to delivery

Bang on the earliest time predicted and on a Saturday! Hot, fresh, tasty and well packaged. I tried the passion rice for the first time…. Where did that GEM OF FLAVOUR & TEXTURES come from? Wow… it went well with the vindaloo for a change and contrast. Starters, condiments, Korma and naan all very good also! 👌

Bang on the earliest predicted time. All hot and packaged tidily. My first time trying Purple Tiger… Impressed! Lightest, crispiest onion bhajis I have had in Taunton. Came with a fresh side salad and sauce… the fennel seeds were a delicious ingredient! Pompadoms were light and crispy 😋 pilau rice was good and the vindaloo was perfectly hot with its own flavour…. Not just general gravy spiced-up. Better than my usual Indian restaurant that I have been going to for years - I am a convert 👍

I visited purple tiger in April and May and I had chicken Madras, pilau rice and 4 poppadoms, literally best food. Staff was polite and friendly. Parking outside was okay but 5 STARS from me

First visit here, very impressed. Firstly we were warmly greeted by Delo and Shakib who not only looked after us but also kept our 8 month old son entertained and amused throughout our meal. Our reasonably priced food was expertly cooked by Ruhel with authentically spiced flavours. Lovely background music playing too. I can't praise this Indian Restaurant enough, we will definitely be back.

Food poorly seasoned, madras lacking flavour apart from heat. Aloo gobi had no flavour tasted like boiled veg with colouring. Luke warm when it arrived.

We've previously enjoyed our food from here but last week was awful. The chicken tikka masalas were watery and completely flavourless. As soon as we finished eating my partner and I were ill. I've given 2 stars to be generous because of previous purchases but I don't think we're going to be risking them again.

I’ve been to Purple Tiger a few times and experienced good value, delicious food, and friendly, polite service particularly from Delo.

Reasonably priced, good Indian food.

Would really recommend purple tiger very friendly staff yummy tasty food and a nice clean place in general. I would definitely visit here again it was delicious and considering it was my first ever curry out I was really pleased with it good flavours too!

We highly recommend The Purple Tiger , the food was so delicious , the staff are friendly & efficient ,the restaurant had a nice relaxing feel. We both enjoyed are meal very much , we shared a starter of meat samosa, then we had Salmon & the chef adjusted the spice level so it wasn’t to spicy, the Devils Tamarind was perfect as was the onion Bhaji & rice. We will definitely be returning

Order placed on Just eat at 18:25, when calling at 20:15 they advised me it was 10 minutes away but would not confirm it had been cooked and was on its way. It’s now 20:50 and they’re no longer answering the phone. Food not delivered, response on the phone not acceptable. Will not be ordering again

I’ve ordered from here twice now. The first time I wasn’t impressed but, I thought perhaps I caught them on a bad day. So, I tried again and It definitely hasn’t improved. It was so bad! The curries are so watery, food is bland and the chips were not cooked properly. Food was Luke warm at best yet other places seem to be able to deliver hot food okay. I will not order from here again! Waste of money!

I would not have been able to identify this dish (one of their most expensive) as a curry. Tasteless, strange consistency, very few prawns and arrived late. Awful experience.

I think this is the same as Tamerand bay in Welly and spice club in Bridgy. Part of a chain. Pink Garlic is better and similar style. Nothing really that new on the menu. Been to way better curry houses in town. Not much atmosphere. Lamb wasn't that good in my curry shredded not like normal places chunks. Tried it probably wouldn't recommend. Difficult to park nearby as well.

Hot tasty and not at all greasy. Each curry had different levels of flavour. The rice was delicious with keema chunks big and small. We tried an onion and coriander Nan it was fresh and fluffy. The cool dip had slightly split In consistency but I believe this was due to being surrounded by hot products and did not detract. Onion bhaji like bowling balls. Crispy and tasty. Will definitely order again.

We came here to take a Co worker for dinner. We did the usual search the net for best restaurants and this was not there but being Monday not a lot open so we decided on the Purple Tiger and we were glad we did. The food was excellent no complaints from anyone and the place is spotless. That was on the12th Feb. today is 13th Feb. and we have just been back. Sure enough it was just as good. Really good food next time I'm in Taunton we will be heading straight there.

Great delivery time, however the vegetable curry had exploded inside and was all over the other stuff. Curry’s were quite cold too, had to warm through again.

Very taste food me and my friends went there for a get together party. The waiters were very friendly the service was on point. Had an amazing time. Thank you purple tiger team especially thanks to the manager Naz.

Delivery & ordering online were great but the food had no taste. I ordered (for 2) the King Prawn Puree, peshwari Naan, chick balti, garlic naan & mushroom rice. We got a free Veg curry, which was nice but the veg curry & king prawn purée has no flavour at all. Seriously, it would have tasted better if it came in just water. There was nothing. We’ve ordered from purple tiger before & it was lovely, which makes tonight even more disappointing. Will be avoiding from now on.

Cold food with no taste. Curry separated so it was watery with curdled parts. Unable to eat anything more than the poppadoms. Delivery driver was friendly though! Will definitely not recommend or order again.

So disappointed. I had several meals in 2023, all top quality and delicious. Today the food was dreadful. The amazing spices replaced with what looked and tasted like curry powder and sugar. The best naan bread I’ve ever eaten replaced with a soggy, sugar soaked parody. I’m sad. You lost a good customer.

Been regulars here since they opened in 2023. Used to be take your own alcohol which was fine. Started selling alcohol before Christmas. Went this evening to be told no red wine and no alcohol free beer. Previous visit they had no orange juice but sent out to the nearby supermarket to get some. Asked if they would go nearby to get a bottle of wine but they didn't. So my treat night out was no treat at all. As for the food, not as good as usual, we both thought our dishes bland. Very disappointed. It wasn't busy when we were there, you'd think for the sake of keeping regulars they'd have gone to the nearby supermarket, if my mobility wasn't limited I'd have gone myself.

Been coming here for years before, and always good quality food! Moved to Wales for 2 years. Came back to visit my favourite dine in indian restaurant. Staff are polite and friendly as always. Food was amazing! Place has has had a refurbishment to a very high standard since my last visit. Even the toilets are immaculate. Me and my partner had a lovely evening and will highly recommend to all, and will be coming back. 💯% Thank you Purple Tiger & team for a lovely evening! 🙂 A 🌟

the delivery driver was great. went out of his way to get the food here. finding away around the local floods. contacted me to explain the predicament he was in and still managed to get here. legend. food was good.

Order arrived stone cold. As part of just eat policy all orders should arrive in a therma bag to keep the food hot. Restaurant staff delivered the order and not a courier. I will be taking this up with Just eat head office

Amazing food, amazing service. The waiters are nice and honest and the food is spectacular and bursting with flavour. We travelled for London and ate tonight and it was wonderful. The chef is wonderful and came out to greet us. Lovely buisness even on Christmas day. Would 1000% recommend it for anyone.

Lovely food, tender meat and the cheese Nan was generously filled. Will definitely be ordering again. Only slight downside was the nan was a bit burnt.

Got a late takeaway, the staff were super friendly and helpful, despite it being the end of a long service for them. Food was great, one of the better Indian restaurants in Taunton.

It was my mums 70th last nite. After years of loving miriams and supporting them as purple tiger they failed to deliver what we ordered. I called them and they promised to send a driver with what was missing with extras as apology. We waited for2 hours and nothing. The next day we called again... and apologys and promises again from them to s3nd whole meal again. At 8pm this eve they d3livered the 1 main meal that was missing. 24 hours late. No extras and no respect to acustomer of 15 yrs.. all lies. I appreciate they get busy but x the line with us. They have no customer care for a family that have genuinly 3ncouraged people to eat there. They have lost valued customer of 15 yrs. My mums 70th was ruined. Good bye purple tiger. All i will do now is tell my story. I feell so let down. As planned my mums 70th to be a lovely meal. Gutted

Ordered 2 chicken omelette and got two plain ones, shame was looking forward to it, don’t no why it didn’t happen

We came back from Bridggy carnaval looking in taunton for something to eat, found the Purple Tiger which was highly rated by the locals. Naz made us very welcome with a friendly smiling face. The tables and utensils were very clean very impressed. The food was fantastic (Jalfrezzi and special rice) and was at a very reasonable price (about 2/3 of the price of the Indian in the main street in Penzance and much nicer chicken) Thank you, will be back again!

Really disappointed - ordered a takeaway from here based on the Google reviews, arrived 10 mins early to make sure the food was fresh and hot. Drove 5 mins to get home and it was all cold.
