Purple Olive Ashton in Tameside

So far the best curry in Ashton, if not tameside.... I've eaten many curries over the years and all of them leave a oil base over the rice, and the plate always looks greasy!! BUT NOT HERE!! My plate has no oil, the chicken is tender and the meal is always full of flavour... Only two suggestions, I always order online for a home delivery, you need to sell drinks for takeaways guys and put it on your online menu... Also please take consideration into making your naan breads a little bigger, apart from that all is great

Wonderful place staff outstanding and the the food is 5 star eat there every two weeks

The curries were not your apna style curries. Even though we requested for Asian style. There were ALOT of onions in the dishes and the sauce in them was very thick. We did request to change one out of the two we ordered but it came out the same.. they were all like a child’s curry. So bland and no spice or heat in them. We ordered a lamb dish as it says on the menu but it was beef when it came out??? The chips and rice were so small, they came out on nibble bowls. Overall the food was a huge let down, which was disappointing because me & my husband like to go out for a meal to treat ourselves and this place was not it. Unfortunately won’t be going back here again. Staff were accommodating and the service was okay

Had a great evening with a few friends last Friday at Purple Olive, everything was perfect from start to finish. We had a warm welcome from the staff who were very attentive and polite. The ambiance was great, a lovely place to dine in with delectable food and drinks. The staff and management were absolutely amazing making sure we had a great evening. I would definitely recommend Purple Olive, as the hospitality and food was excellent!

One of our favourite places for Indian food, went with the family, looked after the grandkids great.

Called in food a curry with the family the place looks not bad and the food was average but we had chicken pakora which was minced chicken strange plus the curry I had the chicken was the exact size in every piece just did not look right make of this what you think but I will not be going back amaani in Ashton is well better and cheaper

Visited here 3 times and it’s always excellent. Great for large groups and very good value with the set menu prices.

Delivery service is poor have to spend £20 set up account to find out at the end cash only hhhmmm wonder why. Went else where waste of time

Decor nice and nice staff but food could do with improvements, lots of use of red food colouring takes away from the flavour/quality. Wouldn't go back.

We went to this restaurant to help a close friend celebrate their birthday. Staff were very welcoming from arrival - there is a car park, but beware of potholes. We arrived at 6pm, and we noticed from the moment we arrived that many of the other customers were regulars who were known to the staff, and many had children with them. The place is clearly popular. Menu is quite extensive, with well described dishes, and staff are happy to help and advise. Desert was much more limited, with many of the options list on the menu not available - didn't bother me too much as I don't tend to go for desert in this sort of restaurant, but worth being aware of. Quality of the food was excellent - good size proportions very well cooked and presented.

Service is very good! Food is amazing and so are the mocktails/cocktails.

First impressions - very small car park Not disabled friendly at all As we walked in was gorgeous Had to wait around 45 mins for a table even though we booked Service wasn’t the best but it was busy Took around 1 hour 30 for our mains to arrive , by the time it arrived we wasn’t hungry But we ate what we could , if you don’t mind waiting forever for your food id definitely return as it is nice once you get it , but the service is horrendous we wasn’t told or aware of the wait time Took 25 min from ordering just to get our drinks Then starters and mains came together around 1 hour 30 later Would I return ? Yeah if wait time wasn’t as long as it was as the prices and food is nice

Went here to celebrate a friends birthday. Was really surprised at this place being so close to home, 1st time here and was very happy From the service of walking into leaving was amazing. The food was absolutely 💯 👌 Couldn't fault it. They cater to vegetarians, and their menu is halal.

We ordered takeaway from here for the first time this evening for New Year! Absolutely amazing food! Arrived piping hot and every dish was delicious! Can’t wait to order again and maybe bring the extended family to come to the restaurant one day. Thank you.

The only Indian I order / eat at! Their korma is the best I ever had and my partner only ever orders the chicken chilli masala! Always cooked perfectly! The garlic chicken starter is always a must! Last minute Christmas Day order, went in and despite being as busy as they are they were happy to accommodate us! Lovely staff, friendly and always have time for you despite being rushed off their feet! Thank you!

Absolutely fantastic food,, amazing Indian food at reasonable prices, with large portions you will struggle to finish, just ask for a doggy box to take away any un-eaten food ,as food just too good to be left behind.

Had poppadoms nice and light and not greasy with a tongue tantalising mango slightly spiced chutney ..lamb chops really succulent and tasty and charred...king prawns that melt in your mouth with an amazing tandori flavour sauce juice ...fluffy and light onion rice accompanied by the chicken tikka machini that was nice and creamy with a perfect amount of up spice of which we asked for and they delivered perfectly.naan bread was perfectly charred as asked for .this is the first time in ages where every bit of food tasted was taste bud love ..we will definitely be going there again this time to sit in . Had a great meal with the family as always. Great service and staff are really customer focused. The management are fantastic and will accommodate your needs. Parking on site. You can book a table on line or call the restaurant. Booking is recommended. Can get extremely busy.

Just ok 👍 average, food just average the best part was the onion bhaji, tandoori half chicken very salty little disappointed had heard good stuff maybe expectations where set a little high, atmosphere good to start and then as the room got busier the noise was overwhelming couldn't hear the person across the table so conversation was impossible the staff where too attentive every waiter wanted to wait on us got a little bit annoying that the staff kept asking if we needed anything and tried to take our order three times good choice of drinks mocktails some good some terrible

The wife and I had a child free night, so we decided to go here. The food was excellent but unfortunately the customer service needs some work. Staff (not all staff) are abrupt and pretty rude. We won't be returning in a hurry. Didn't hear them say please or thank you once.

Had a meal for 2 here on Saturday night. Very busy but we were sat after a short wait. Waiting staff are on the ball and very attentive. Food was good, nan breads could be larger I think as could the rice portions but the quality was spot on.

Nice food, bit of a wait after our starter so wasn’t very hungry by the time it had come out, would go again as the food is nice maybe through the week however, Bruce the server was excellent great customer service such a talkative friendly young man!

We have been a few times and the food is always 100% onion bajis are so nice decor is really nice and so clean. All the staff are so friendly especially Jay and look smart if you want good quality food come here you wont be disappointed

There are plenty of places to sit and have a drink before the meal, i.e., the table is ready .in the menu, there is a section on bbq meals, i.e., raw meats in marinades that will be delivered or picked up.
