Purple Ivy Indian Restaurant & Take Away in Daventry

High quality Indian restaurant. Parking not easy at times.

DISRESPECTFUL! I was surrounded by three staff members and the owner trying to fix a very simple problem of throwing my food away😅 if they would of said “sorry for the mistake” I would’ve been fine but they turned it into a very unpleasant atmosphere. I dined here recently with my girlfriend and after my meal we asked to take food away in containers they gave my girlfriends food but they threw my food away then called me a liar😅 then admitted what he did bluntly after🙄 I am a very quiet person who was only asking what happened to my food they all stood there looking at me which made me feel uncomfortable, the server always changed his answer first it was “this is all your food” then “you only had a little bit of food” then he said to me “Your lucky because we normal charge extra for takeaway” (RUDE) I don’t like being called a liar, I had the whole establishment looking at me confused and made me feel stupid for their mistake. I ended up saying just give me the bill because they couldn’t apologise or admit to any mistakes and I’ve got better things to do than wait for people that don’t know how to say sorry🤦‍♂️ I would’ve been there all day honestly the food is amazing but your staff need better training and to be more polite if there’s a problem.

Amazing and freshly prepared food. Lovely staff who make you feel welcome as soon as you step inside. I would highly recommend. Great for office parties and other functions as well. Treat yourself 😊

If you're looking for a friendly welcome at the best Indian restaurant in Northamptonshire then book a table at the Purple Ivy. It won't disappoint! My recommendation is The Tawa Mixed Special. Absolutely superb! Make the time to visit Brixworth and you'll enjoy.

People on here complaining about parking and wait times but excellent food isn't cooked in a microwave and it's a village restaurant for heaven's sake. Go to town and eat with the drunks if you want parking !!

First Time trying Purple Ivy, snd wasn't disappointed. Some unusual items on the menu which makes a refreshing change. All the food was delicious. Portions good sized. Prices decent. Service friendly. Restaurant was busy all night, which shows how popular the place is.

We had walked past here a few times whilst visiting family and it always looked popular, so we decided to pay it a visit. We booked a table for 3 people on a Friday evening and good job we did as there were only a couple of tables free. OK it is quite a small place, so its best to book as it gets full. There is a bar when you walk in where people waiting for their takeaways can sit and have a cheeky beer. We had a nice table next to the window albeit it was quite cramped. I was almost sitting on the lady's lap on the next table. Like I said, it's a really small restaurant. The service is ok, they don't pester you for an order which we like, however we had to keep trying to gain a waiter's attention. We ordered 4 drinks, 6 poppadoms, 2 chicken kormas, 1 tandoori chicken, 2 rice, 2 desserts, 1 coffee. Total bill was £77 for 3 of us. It's quite good value. The food is excellent. The service is a bit slow. We will definitely go back for another visit.

Takeaway review: Astonishing value for money. Portion sizes are Huge! If you and your partner aren't big eaters, and can share a main and rice without issue - and instead spend the money on a starter or two instead 😉 The quality of the food is soo much better than the other restaurants. Being new to the area, I've finally found a restuarant that actually makes really descent curry! (including vegetarian options for the Missus). And it's the little things too. The naan is fresh and doughy, the rice is fluffy and tasty. Even the packaging is tasteful, with a 'Thank you - enjoy your meal' inked in gold letters. Genuinely - if you like your curry, this should be on your list of restaurants to try.

Booked a table for two - place was busy but not crowded and tables well spaced. Beautiful white table cloths and everything clean and smart - nothing fussy. Good service and food was great. I will definitley go again

Had the most delicious meal at Purple Ivy last night. First date night that me and my husband have had post lockdown and it was really special. The food was cooked to perfection, so tasty. The service was incredible. As soon as we'd finished our starters, the waiter was clearing ready for our mains. Our drinks were not left empty, it was fantastic. Such a beautiful restaurant too. Such friendly people. Definitely give this place a try! Well done guys ❤️

From the wonderful greeting and friendliness of the Staff, to the lovely, clean, spaciousness of the restaurant, to the absolutely delicious food, Purple Ivy scores 10 out of 10 all round. 3 of us visited, and three meals were consumed completely 😋 Perfect amount served for each course. Vegetarian and vegans beautifully catered for! As was my Service Dog. The staff were so kind, gentle and thoughtful to him. We WILL be back! Very soon!

Got home with takeaway to discover one of the mains was missing.... Shame as food was really good

Friendly and welcoming restaurant where the team do their best (very well) to accommodate different tastes and dietary requirements, and to provide food that's not on the menu. Takeaway food is collection only. Great value.

Lovely Indian restaurant run by nice people in the village of Brixworth Northamptonshire. The food we ate was good a very good standard and priced reasonably tho we did get a discount for the eat out to help out cause. We will be returning for another visit soon.

Whether you’re eating in the restaurant or having a takeaway, the food is always of a high quality and extremely tasty. The customer service and attentiveness, without being overbearing, is excellent. Highly recommend.

Had a takeaway from The Purple Ivy last night. We have previously eaten here and it has been outstanding. The meat dishes last night (Korma and Bhoona) were lovely, really succulent chicken, excellent. My only criticism was the disappointing peshwari naan bread, which had crumbly coconut paste inside that fell out as you picked them up, no plumpness and one sultana, and the poppadoms were sadly burnt and turned over like pitta bread.

Great food, good service and a relaxed atmosphere. Only criticism, would have been nice if they said happy birthday/had a balloon as it was my partners birthday and I mentioned it during booking!

It's a good restaurant with good ambiance and nice waiters. From only one visit it's hard to have a very comprehensive review, best I can say is I would go again.

I was taken here by my girls for fathers day treat.Food was very good ,generous portions-all cooked to order-we are vegetarians -there was a good selection on the menu and the waiter was happy to add and delete ingredients to suit our tastes.Friendly staff , a busy little restaurant with a thriving take away option as well -would recommend .

Eaten here three times, and just booked again for a forth time. Not the cheapest in Northampton, but definitely one of the best. They are happy to cook dishes that aren't on the menu too. Friendly staff, also. Just be aware try to avoid peak times as its only a small place and can get very very busy!
