The Best, Fresh curry I've had in Bradford

Food was tasty but very small portions. Spent around a fiver on the chappal kebab and another fiver on chicken pakoray and they were miniscule. Completely not worth it! Wouldn't have even paid half that price for the size of that portion. The curries, rice and chips portions in the £25 tava were tiny. It wasn't even enough for one person nevermind for two people to share. Very tasty curries but way too small for a £25 two people sharing portion. Wouldn't recommend unless they actually give you what you pay for!

I ordered grilled fish they served with naan and nothing no salad no chitin nothing and fried fish instead grilled fish whithout salt other ingredients.

Food was OK, service was really good. Although it was Friday evening but was very quiet. Prices are reasonable.

Had the Tava for 2. Chops over cooked, under seasoned, either than that was good.

Ordered a somasa chat for me and my spouse with desi tea. Paid 15 pounds for a small portion. Was nice but pricey for a small plate with a samosa and yoghurt and a few little scraps of vegs. I could have made this at home to be frank

Very fast service. Friendly staff. And i think prices are quite low for these modern times. Definitely one the cheaper side of restaurants. Would return to try other menu items

I've heard good reviews about Punjabs and as I was close to the area so I decided to go in with my niece. The service was great from start to finish. We ordered tandoori prawns, chicken karahi (apna style), naan and chicken biryani. We both enjoyed our meal the prawns were really nice and so was the chicken karahi. The biryani was OK, was nice with the mint sauce. Overall we liked what we ordered, and I'd visit again in the future.

Today on way to Sunderland, tried this join !!! The size of nan and roti were the biggest ever seen any where ! Minced Meat and potatoes were out of this world ! Desi sweets were incredible ! Defiantly coming back again 10/10 . Bradford never lets down on food

Been visiting here for curries since it first opened in the 1990s..when it was just a small shop on the corner and one or two tables The food is consist and the sheeskh kebabs amazing.. In my opinion the best any way and the recipe is obviously the same all these years Had an excellent experience.. Sheeskh kebabs and the karahi chicken and gosht with rotis and naan Wonderful flavours Great visit Thank you... See you next time for more Delicious food

been coming here years came today after having some time off for a while im not sure if its changed hands but it wasn't as good as it used to be the food was good but not on the level it once was hands down this was one of the best indians in Bradford i would still come as we've been coming here years i hope you can get it back to the level it once was lads 🙌... came back again on fathers day food was ok but i found a fly 🪰 in my curry and wifes stomach not been too good the following day the lads knocked a little bit of price off due to fly being on meal its still not what it used to be so definitely wont be returning now after all those years i used to come

Food was not bad, however the prices are completely different to what they portray on the menu, when I went over the dishes I bought, it came up to £117 however when I got to the till they charged me £137 no receipt or bill given to me. Will not be coming here again what a con !!

Food was not bad however they overcharged us by about 20 quid which not fair. Honesty is the way forward will not be going back.

Took my broz for an iftari treat on weekend, ordered 8 mixed kobeda in naan, (they forgot the mixed chops n chicken which then came out 10mins later) drinks and 2 teas, i had heard stories about how they overcharge customers from various people so i made sure i added up bill which came to £80… when i got to till i was quoted £103!!!! Apparently they charge for sauces!!! What a con!! I had been coming here for over 20years and back then it was run by honest people but never again! Fog god sake akbars charge less than these con artist, avoid!

Ordered gajarhalwa from the restaurant/takeaway, listerhills road on Sunday, paid £16, for 1.5kg. Was served by a young guy, who appeared to be someone in authority. Took it home, it was undercooked. On Monday i rang and spoke to a gentleman called Zaf who, i later found out was the manager of punjab sweethouse, not the restaurant/takeaway. ( same business but apparently, each has its own till system). Zaf, excellent customer service sked me to come back and get refund or replacement. I went back, was served by the same young guy, who basically didn't care and alleged i had eaten some of it so he would not do anything about it. When i asked to speak to Zaf was told go 2 doors down to punjab sweethouse, as young kid wasn't prepared to refund/replace as his till would be down. So i went, spoke to zaf, who was about to refund me the £16, not knowing that the same company runs as 2 separate businesses, i complained to Zaf about the lad and his attitude. Zaf then asked me where i got the product from, told him from the restaurant/ takeaway, he said 2 seperate business yet same company but, like a professional customer service manager, he refunded me £11 for which i was grateful. My advice order from the sweethouse where Zaf works and not the restaurant/takeaway which seems to be run by the young lad who was probably in his early 20, clearly lacking customer service experience and lack of managing customer expectations Thankyou Zaf

Come in for a curry about 5/6 in afternoon total should have been £35 was charged £67 which was double the amount of money didn't realise till after I got back home when my wife told me we had over paid also they was spit on the menus which was disgusting and the food was bland only thing I enjoyed was the red sauce wont be coming back . Good curries which are very authentic and desi style in taste. Their naan kebabs are also very good, tried their lamb handi which is on the bone and the Punjabi butter chicken and both were very nice. Only issue was it's now a cash only establishment so loses a star

Punjab restaurant was recommended by a friend. I ordered Karela Daal, more daal and not a hint of Karela. Very disappointed. When you have a takeout make sure you look at what you order before they pack it up for you. Don't make the mistake I did....

No food quality, worst customer services ever for small party, they didn't know or have sense how to serve, all services we and our guests did our self, cooking quality is bad than third class junk food take aways , they must have some proper chefs,most food was not fresh , for example they prepared old frozen meat with rubbish curry masala as Nihari!

I have been to this place for the second time, food was freshly cooked and very delicious. We had chicken tikka, fish pakoras, lamb chops, vegetable samosas and karahi chicken, everything was yummy 😋 I would definitely recommend this place and come back again😊

Halal food Best Asian food I was a little skeptical reading the reviews when my husband took us here today. I was about to rate 4 stars but after the food I had and the number of 1 stars I wanted to do them justice There was a gathering on top floor and we were on ground We had mix grill, Keema matar and haleem with naan Every thing was fresh and tasted really good. We had kids with us and we cannot tolerate hot. They complied with our request and kept spices down We had lassi and mango shakes for drinks, honestly best mango shakes we had Service 5/5 Seating 4/5 Atmosphere 4/5 Food 5/5 Wait for food 3/5

Went here for my nephews birthday party. Was a complete shamble! The owner took a full payment beforehand an on the day was counting the food whilst serving. Lied that it would be a buffet but was instead trays of food that were less then what was promised. The curry was watery an the worst meat Iv ever tasted. Food was not fresh at all. On top of that the owner was so rude to guests. Do not book this place for any event or go here for food. Honestly was the worst experience ever. The owner should be ashamed for the way he dealt with the situation.

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER AND DO NOT PAY BEFOREHAND Booked my sons birthday for saturday and it was the worst experience ever the owner at first when i went to see him was really good we agreed on a buffet system and put our trust in him then on actull day we turned up there was no buffet set up i realised i had made a mistake tables were not set there was no manegment going on atall it was awfull we got served at 9 food was awful the roast were frozen seekh kebabs were cut x4 rice had boiled chicken the gajerela was sent up in little plastic bowls nd to make it look a enough portion they added ice cream the meat was watered down most the little kids did not eat as food was a choking hazard i had told them i will have 25 adults and four kids over the age of 6 which i had paid beforehand and for on the day they had food enough for 15 adults and all old we had agreed to a buffet system only for them to send 3 small trays for 18 people on a long table the owner decided to shout at my guest and tell them to be seated also commented how there were so many children spitefully made that comment oh well i would not reccomend only thing i can say is if you want to be let down go here my sons first birthday was ruined i hope if you are thinking of booking here you think again and not make mistake i did pay a bit more not that punjab is cheap they ridicolousy expensive but not worth it book else where they do not stick to what you have ordered they do cheaper alternative and less quantity

We went there recently with a large family gathering. This was the worst experience of dining out we had. The staff was new and just the boys. Could not even decide where to sit us best even though the whole floor was empty and not even reserved. The food portions were small. At the end they charged us a large bill. When asked for an itemized bill, it turned out that they inflated the prices. The boy explained that the prices on menu are for take out and the price for dining in are higher BUT when looked at the menu, it clearly states "DINE IN MENU". Then he agreed to take off the prices of big dishes. We were with families so did go into detail of every item which we should have really. Then they declined to receive card payment saying that the internet for the whole street is down so card machine not working. We had to go for cash withdrawal to pay them. We checked instantly from neighbouring shops and their cash machines were working fine SO it was clearly a tactic for receiving cash instead of card. Overall it was a very very bad experience and from the recent reviews it turned out that the management is in new hands recently which is clearly a reason of all this.. Not recommending guys !!!!! And we are definitely not going there anymore. Giving one star as it is minimum I can give.

Went there recently and have been over charged unduly. Staff reduced the bill after we discovered that items are prices higher than given in menu. Even then realized later that we have been over charged for many thing which we did not argue at the counter. embarrassing. Food portion small and not a very good food either. Not going there any more !!! There should have been an option for giving 0 stars in the review

I went there as i was hungry I asked the young boy whats best to eat he recommended me haleema dish i have never eaton it before he said to me its lamb crushed with lentals I asked for it to be medium hit when it arrived it was sweet a d no meat in it only lentals i eat the food bc i didint want to waste it but i complained at the end and the young boy didnt even discount me anything but said next time you come choose another dish i felt disgusted with his manners and his way of dealing with a complaint i will never touch that place again bad manners and not truefull A I awhen

Place has been running for years and there's a reason why food is lovely and the staff are too if you want an authentic tasting curry this is the spot in Bradford.

Karahi chicken, karahi gosth, masala fish £28 Extremely disappointing. The fish was anorexicly small and thin and smelt off… also looked refried. The chicken and lamb were reasonable portions but nothing spectacular and for the price they were poor value. This is under new management and it shows. Would not recommened. 👎

We pre ordered a number of boxes for our wedding. Zafran was very helpful in placing our order. They also confirmed our order 24 hours before. The Laddu are absolutely amazing!!
