Lovely coffee and very welcoming, friendly staff. If you’re passing through and fancy a quick bite/drink, this cafe is a great spot to do so.

The staff at Pumpkin cafe are fantastic. They are approachable, well mannered and efficient! Regularly stop here between trains for a bacon sandwich and coffee and they never disappoint!

I ordered a chocolate frape before getting on the train my friends received there but due to staff not knowing how to make the drink my train turned up and I had to go without receiving my drink that I paid £3.80 for. No offer of a quick refund when I said to him my train has arrived

Doesn't open till 9.00 am. Shuts early too. Bit late for grabbing a coffee on the way to work. Suggest you take your own on your journey.

The lovely guy working behind the counter combined efficiency with a friendly manner. And he was sorry helpful, even carrying the coffee and snacks I'd bought out to the platform where my partner was sitting. Amazing customer service. Well done him.

I'm surprised to read some people gave found cause to comment poor reviews. Talk to the staff and I'm sure they would sort out any complaints. I've used this coffee / snack pick up point numerous times and found it quick, convenient and good. Better than on train goodies.

Pumpkin cafe it’s in the station grounds and everything I had was dreadful. It’s a sham there’s not a good value cafe around here , cos I would be over there rather than chewing through my breakfast panini, hot and tasteless with foul tasting cheap red sauce, chocolate drink more like water than chocolate, oatmeal cookies cheap and nasty . And all for £9.50 . They should be ashamed with the quality. I expect more for the money . Maybe the rent is getting the majority of the takings cos it certainly isn’t the processed muck they call food . Never again

Went into Pumpkin Cafe to get my usual order when travelling in the morning, usually served by the younger lad who is always lovely, has a laugh with you and wishes you a good journey. Today I was served by the older man and was practically grunted at when ordering. He asked a question which I assumed was to his co worker, only to realise he was asking me after he repeated the question in a louder, irritated voice, as if I was supposed to know he was talking to me. I explained I didn’t realise he was talking to me and he called for the next customer, no thank you, no nothing. I guess we’re not all morning people but a smile and good customer service can go a long way - he should take a lesson from his younger coworker.

What a sad joke and reflection on poor customer service. Yes coffee machine/hot water not available, stupid note to explain stuck on till. Where was the customer care? No kettle, instant coffee? Tea bag in a cardboard cup? No of course not, there must be a H&S or PC reason why we must steer away from trying to help or please our regular customers.Service is usually crap but today they excelled... making it a superlative "extra crap" Well done! Keep it up! Disillusioned

Really poor service, with terrible burnt coffee. The sandwich was actually okay but the price was too high. Been to other Pumpkins and they have always been great.....

I know it’s close to closing time on a Sunday, but the coffee I’ve just bought is disgusting. £3 going in the bin ☹️

I must have come in one the right day, because I have nothing but praise for the young man who served me! His nametag said Karoly, he was friendly and cheerful and provided quick and proffessional service. A woman spilled her tea, he wasted no time in helping her out and came over with a new tea to replace it without being asked. Lovely, well-spoken and friendly guy, he’s a credit to you!

Having ordered and paid for a regular (medium) Americano coffee, the order was transferred to the barista. However the barista misheard and made a small Americano coffee. When I informed him of the minor error he acknowledged the mistake but did not apologise. What he did then was beyond belief. He simply got a regular sized cup and poorer the small coffee in to it and topped it up with hot water. When challenged on the validity of what he just did, his retort of 'it is company policy to do that' prompted me to ask for a full refund and refuse the coffee.I will not be using Pumpkin ever again. The regional manager was not concerned by the error and failed to take my complaint seriously.

I had a full 10minutes to get my train today so decided to get a coffee. Once again I was let down by poor quality service. There was two members of staff, one making coffees so slowly it beggars belief and the other watching. For 9minutes the queue didn’t move forward at all and I left without a coffee.how difficult is it to find staff that actually make an effort?

Have purchased coffee to go here twice in the last fortnight. Same girl on the till both times. She made no eye contact on either occasion and no greeting. Kept me waiting with no apology whilst she dealt with her own till mistakes, bearing in mind most people are catching a train! I don't think she spoke to me apart from telling me the cost of the coffee. The young male barista was fine, efficient and made a very good coffee. The three staff on duty generally were talking amongst themselves rather than paying attention to the customers, on what was , a very busy Saturday morning.

....can’t complain about the staff who are polite and helpful.....Asking for a decaf latte I was advised “that’ll be an extra 20p” he explained “the company are charged an extra 20p”Well, that’s a new one on me! I’ve NEVER been charged extra for a decaf coffee before! Especially when you pay 15/20% more at railway stations! I explained I love caffeine but my body (I have a specific health condition) hates it...disappointing to say the least!

Visited today - Monday off season. The young blonde haired man was polite courteous and smiled. He was clear with passengers how long it took to heat a snack before they purchased. Can't be the most exciting job in the world so top marks to this guy. Shame no name badge.

Went in to get a drink while waiting for a connection. Stood waiting for about five minutes, god knows where the staff were. Served by a lovely guy, when he actually turned up the service was great! Only had a mango frappe to drink so there's not much that could go wrong there. Plenty of seating on the platform outside.

As a station cafe and news agent they are aware of the importance of fast foot fall. Queue speedily dealt with. A known quantity and reliable to grab the tea or coffee before boarding the train.

An average coffee shop. It's very frustrating when a place that closes at 6.30pm stops serving hot drinks just after 6pm because they've chosen to clean the machine. So they'll employ the staff but not take the two hot drinks worth of money!

Bovey Castle is certainly a beautiful and interesting location. However, with all their grounds parking spaces are a premium. Eventually, we were offered a space in a coned off area. A very well appointed building as your would expect for a Five Star Hotel. We began with an aperitif 'Gusbourne English Sparkling' which was superb. A absolutely delightful bar. Smith's Brasserie! Well, let's begin with the positives. Excellent welcome and staff were fantastic throughout our Birthday lunch. Extremely unimaginative menu to say the least. A nice enough starter. Perhaps would have expected freshly made mayonnaise, not from a bottle, in such an establishment. Pleasant enough bottle of rose, although there was a choice of ONE. My wife (Birthday Girl) and I opted for pasta dishes. Absolutely clueless when it comes to pasta dishes. Packet spaghetti with prawns (four small ones) and a Provencal sauce? Very little of it too. It is an Italian dish and the sauce requires mixing in the pasta. Tagliatelle, again from a packet, with some type of utterly non-descript cream sauce at the bottom of the dish. Totally unseasoned dishes. The cooking water needs to taste of the sea. Therefore, seasoned. No offer of cheese or pepper or pangrattato, nothing, and certainly no theatre. Huge improvements required I'm afraid to make an enjoyable dining experience. Dress Code: Expectations, as you would imagine were high. Staff were smart, but could have been better attired for such a hotel. Clientele: Lots of jeans and un-ironed tee shirts wondering around and dining. A pair of football shorts and dirty trainers at one table, others with feet on the chairs in the bar and the final straw was a couple arriving in towelling dressing gowns and flip flops. NO! Sorry. There's a time and a place and this is not acceptable. Unfortunately, this was a lunch to judge if a weekend stay would be appropriate for our anniversary and it simply is not good enough.

We came for Sunday carvery when we visited Dawlish. The food was good, although the beef was a bit chewy. The Yorkshire puddings were huge. Service was quick and friendly and the Covid-19 set up was good. We would return if we came back to the area.
