Provisioners in Southwark

Visited this restaurant as part of a Virgin Experience - Tower Bridge and lunch. Booked via Hospitality Line. As already commented on in other reviews, menu choices on the set menu poor, food disappointing and again with service charge added a coffee and a Coke was £12.50!! Contact made with Hospitality Line and Virgin Experiences but basically told we should have complained on the day and nothing can be done. Customer care teams obviously don’t care.

The afternoon tea was lovely. The service was 5 star. A big thank you to Grace and Ravi for making us feel so welcome and allowing us to celebrate my husbands birthday! Thank you Grace and Ravi!

We had a Virgin Experience voucher for a two course meal for two. We were presented with a very limited menu and the food was OK. Had some issues communicating with the staff whose English was not that good. Note - They added 12% service to our 'free' meals!

We were very pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food and excellent service from our server Anhelina. Beautiful interior and welcome retreat from the hustle and bustle of Tower Bridge Rd. Food was amazing and it is definitely worth the visit! We will definitely return in the future.

I have tried the restaurant before and I already liked it but I heard that they have changed the menu and the design so we wanted to check it again. The service was just amazing, Maria was lovely and the food is even better than last time 😍

We came here for a “Luxury” afternoon tea, having stayed at The Dixon before and really enjoying it. What a mistake! There was nothing luxury about it; in fact we felt like we had inconvenienced them. We were booked for 1pm and arrived on time. After being seated, it was half an hour before our tea arrived. The cream cheese sandwich which was meant to be on beetroot bread was on stale white bread. We each got 3 finger sandwiches, no offer of more. The cakes looked like they had been plated up for some time as they were all stuck to the plate. We were given no options on the scones or jam. When they eventually arrived they looked shop bought and were dry and crumbly, with a bowl of jam which was hard to tell if it was raspberry or strawberry. We were not offered any additional hot water to go with the tea or asked how everything was at anytime whilst we were there. As we stood to leave a waitress finally asked if everything was ok and we told her it was very disappointing, to which there was no response so we left. What a waste of our time and the gift voucher kindly bought by my son. If they don’t want to provide a good quality afternoon tea with good quality service, why offer it? We really did not feel at all welcome; it was all a rather unpleasant experience.

The bar is very nice. Staff are friendly. The food was very mediocre and served Luke warm. No excuse for that as the place was not busy. Very disappointing

We used this restaurant twice while staying at The Dixon Hotel. Firstly we had breakfast here which was a buffet style with plenty of choice. We also had an afternoon tea which was very nice (missing was a glass of fizz or a Bellini) just served a pot of tea each, which for the price was a little sparing. The restaurant is immaculate and staff very pleasant.

Birthday dinner. Well looked after by Akash. Sampled an appetizer and shared two entrees. Food was flavourful and thoughtfully prepared.

A bit lacking in atmosphere and a couple of things we wanted weren’t available but the food was actually quite good. Service was good - just not our vibe.

Not sure if this was due to it being New Years Day and the team were shattered but we were not impressed. The waitress didn’t understand our order even though we thought we had made sure she did hence two of the orders were incorrect. This was even after asking the manager? As we thought she didn’t understand and he assured us he did Service was very slow even though the place was incredibly quiet. The food was very mediocre and at £87 it was not good value.

I had brunch at the Provisoners. Great atmosphere, food and service by Eric. I really enjoyed the mushroom and truffle toast. I will happily come back soon

Excellent bar and service. One of the nicest and best kept locations in central London. Peter the floor manager is fabulous - great service without being obtrusive

We stayed at The Dixen for two nights and used their restaurant for breakfast. It’s a cozy place where you feel welcomed and taken cared. The servers were helpful, attentive yet un intrusive. Alex from Peru made us specially familiar with conversation and service. Until next time.

We booked for an early supper pre-theatre at 6pm on a Saturday. The restaurant was supposed to be open, and the signs were outside, when we arrived at about 5:45 but the door was locked. There were staff inside who saw us waiting. Instead of opening the door when we knocked, one of them typed a message on her mobile saying “front door locked go round the side” and showed it through the glass. Having taken this at face value, we walked round the building. There was a side door, but that obviously was not an entrance and was locked. No staff. We returned to the front but the staff had disappeared. I assume this was all some kind of joke. It wasn’t very funny and we wont be coming back. If the restaurant was unexpectedly closed, it is not asking too much to open the door and explain. We had an excellent meal at another place round the corner.

Great value for 3 course bottomless brunch. Food was great quality and well presented. Good efficient service. Highly recommend for a brunch with the girls.
