Ain't nothing healthy about Proper Burgers and it is probably because of this that they are such an indulgent, delicious treat. Proper chips are a favourite. Always prompt (or even early) delivery.

Initially some items were incorrect, so we called the restaurant and they had actually closed. But they kindly still made the missing items and dropped it off to us personally. Great food and customer service. Would definitely order again.

Unfortunately the buttermilk fried chicken burger was completely tasteless, it was supposed to have a tomato relish but it was missing from the burger - I’m sure this would’ve added some flavour, the crust on the chicken was too thick and the chips were undercooked.

Burgers were delicious but the rosemary chips were cool (just above cold) and the proper chips should have been hotter. The meal was just under an hour late. We will order from them again but probably not on a Friday evening!

Ordered the Morris burger, a Proper burger, chips and onion rings. Consistently good quality and excellent packaging to keep food warm. 30 minutes from order being accepted to being delivered. Can’t complain.

Food was hot and presented well. The burger and chips were yummy and cake and ice cream werent melted. The driver was friendly so when food was 10 min late i didnt mind.

Given that it's arguably Leyton's most renowned Halal burger joint, we were looking forward to visiting Proper Burgers. At the conclusion of our visit, however, we were left underwhelmed by our expectations. In terms of presentation, there's definitely a charming rusticness to them, with the lopsidedly-cut buns, and especially with the knife driven through their middle. As such, if you're in the immediate vicinity, it is, for the moment, the place to be. But it certainly isn't a place we'd necessarily travel for from afar. Incorrect order was delivered..ordered buffalo chicken wings but got bbq flavour after 1 hour of wait.

It pains me to say this but it isn’t the same anymore. I have been eating from Proper Burgers for a few years now and have done as the quality of the food has always been consistent regardless of eating at the restaurant or ordering a take away. There has clearly been a change in the chef, or management. The chips - totally different from what is normally served, a lot dryer than what has been given previously. The Burger - meat is now well done and the onions were very salty. The consistency of the burger overall is different. The onion rings - as normal, thankfully. The milkshake - tastes link mainly ice cream, there was barely any oreo in it. Disappointed.

The food tastes sooo good. This food was made with love I can tell😂 flavoursss. Alsooo they gave me fresh strawberries coated in chocolate for free in a personalised shake cup💕 (valentine's Day)

Apropiado por nombre y gusto. La hamburguesa era tierna y suculenta, aunque las salsas de hamburguesa podrían haber sido mejores. Papas fritas y alitas de pollo excelentes, Los chips de carne de chile fueron un desastre, millones de veces mejor en otros lugares. Mohito de buena calidad, sin salsa de chile casera que era molesto ya que la mayoría de los clientes eran asiáticos.

Je suis passé dans ce restaurant nostalgique durant le mois de novembre 2019, et je tiens a remercier le BOSS et chef de m'avoir servi via la l'excellente serveuse Amel les meilleures CHICKEN WINGS très piquantes que j'ai jamais mangé.Je tiens aussi, a remercier le personnel de ce joli resto pour l’accueil chaleureux qui m'a été réservé. Mon souhait, est de repasser bientôt et je conseille les bons dégustateurs de hamburger a y faire un tour, vous ne serez pas déçus.

Proper burgers is consistently very good. We tried the wings this time and would get them again. We have been getting their burgers since living in Walthamstow and still order from them now we’re in Leytonstone. A reliable, tasty local eatery that we use quite often and would highly recommend.

This is the second time I’ve order from proper burgers and both times the meal has been presented really well. I ordered and cheese burger 4oz and 8oz both came in a cardboard box and inside is the burger in kitchen foil on inside. Was piping hot when arrived and was nice and tender. The bacon was cook nice and crispy, I also order inside of cheesy chips and vanilla milkshake the chips came in a lovely white container with a nice amount inside and covered in melted cheese and the milkshake was just right. If you want a decent meal and want to treat yourself I would order from here the price is well worth it and will leave you more than happy.

Was not happy with the burgers this time, looks like they made it in hurry and mix both burgers. Cheesy burger and Tony Montana were mixed, things which goes in cheesy burger they were in Tony and Tony’s things in cheesy. Really not happy. Proper chips had floating liquid in it looks like water.

Food was really bad, won't order again. The buttermilk chicken burger had so much batter there was barely chicken in there, and couldn't finish it. Soggy fries. I never bin food but I couldn't eat this.

My favourite burger takeout place but delivery came 45 minutes late today and kids were famished at home. On top of that, we ordered mushroom sauce with the burger and that didn’t come. Rang the restaurant straight away but they just dismissed it as not being on their system while I can still see it on my order on the App. I said never mind anyway but was very disappointed not to receive any form of compensation which they should have offered for a regular customer. Let alone compensation, not even an apology was presented.

Unbelievable food, I was blown away!

Finales de la semana pasada fui a la hamburguesa adecuada. Pedí dos hamburguesas de pollo, que son las más caras del menú. Yo vivía muy cerca del restaurante, así que después de 10 minutos volví a llevar mi pedido a casa. Cuando abrí cajas con hamburguesas me decepcionó mucho. Esperaba hamburguesas extremadamente buenas para 12 cada uno y tuve un bollo con trozo de pollo que estaba frito sin ningún tipo de sabor. Casi sin ensalada, la pechuga de pollo era difícil de comer, así que quito las migas de pan para que sea un poco más fácil de comer. Esa fue la peor hamburguesa de la historia. Prefiero ir a los pubs de Wetherspoon y comer hamburguesas con cerveza y papas fritas por 15 años. Si te enfocas en las hamburguesas, deberían ser increíblemente sabrosas. Este no era.

This is by far the best takeaway I have ever had! I wasn't expecting much in the standard of food having ordered at 23:30 but everything was spot on. Food was still warm on delivery, chips perfectly seasoned, not greasy or soggy, crunchy onion rings, the best grilled halloumi ever and the juiciest burger with chicken bacon, jalapeños, mushrooms and more. I could write a whole book on this one meal alone but I shall be ordering again to add some more chapters! (no I havent been paid by the owners to write this review 😜)

I cannot say enough nice things about this place! The chicken burger was awesome and still crispy, which seems like some kind of magic, and truly delicious. The mushroom sauce is a must! The delivery driver lady is always so friendly, she makes my day! Keep it proper, every time! 😁
