Promenade Brewers Fayre in Thanet

Visited 30/06/2024 @ 2pm Absolutely terrible! After getting to the front door and it being shut off with a sign saying entrance “next to” premier inn do after walking all the way round and not being able to find the entrance we learnt it was “inside” the premier inn entrance. On arrival staff were so miserable and unorganised and not warming. Was taken to a table that had mostly empty condiment pots on and the benches were absolutely filthy with crumbs and debris all over it as well as the floor. Ordered the carvery to be told there was no gammon but no where was this dictated on the booking site. The carver serving the food definitely had 0 people skills and didn’t want to be there at all. Beef was okay but tough and the turkey was super dry and lacked any enjoyment. The carrots looked grey and the parsnips had definitely been cooked and over a day ago. The roast potatoes were limp and the gravy was barely warm. The only nice thing was the peas and suede mash. No salt and pepper available on tables and have to walk around finding someone to get some. Menus on the tables were sticky and filthy. No aircon on meaning the air was so hot and dense and you cannot comfortably enjoy a meal. Definitely won’t be worth a second visit.

Carvery is good , booking easy to do on line ( I'm a techno phone) queuing to pay can take long... pretty basic good pub grub.

Had booking for 3.30 Sunday for carvery. We got there an hour early and was told at that time there was no gammon and only a small amount of beef left which subsequently went prior to us ordering. The only choice left was turkey so most of us opted not to have the roast. It was all packed away prior to 3.30 , our original booking time. The restaurant was quiet but was should have been serving carvery until 5. As we were getting ready to leave we saw the kitchen manager leave with a half large joint of roast beef (approx 6 incheses in length). They clearly prefer to feed themselves rather than paying guests. I queried it with the duty manager and was advised he was the kitchen manager and it is his choice what he does with the food. Terrible! and puts you ever going to a brewers fayre again. Especially for a roast . No response from email to brewers fayre CS

Came for breakfast at 10am, but the restaurant could only accept bookings despite it being empty inside 👎 Very disappointing

It looks like this Brewers fayre may close soon, and I can honestly say that I am not surprised. The staff are always nice and courteous, that's the only thing it's got going for it. The food is horrible here, and the cleanliness is so bad that I would say it's the worst I have ever experienced from a restaurant. Will not be returning.

We swapped chips for salad, which was very disappointing. The waitress just plonked it down, no condiments or sauces offered , or a smile. There was no toilet paper in either of the ladies cubicles, VERY disappointing , over priced meal, we will not be returning.

Nice breakfast. Good value. Fresh fruit looked old though.

Just feels a bit ... dated .. food was quick but nothing special.. 😕 tables needed cleaning and had dirty cutlery .. blamed dishwasher.. Your better going to the Hooden Horse at Westwood cross

Yes good service and nice food but sadly a lack of vegan options, starters, mains and desserts!! The 2 person meal deal is great value but only has 1 vegan option, it would be nice if the vegan burger and curry was included in this menu becuse the starters and desserts are reduced in price aswell, so we had to pay around £15 and £10.50 for our meals so please can your revise your menu for our future visits Otherwise we enjoyed our meal today.😋

If you come to the Promenade Margate don't forget you sleeping bag service is almost non existent I arrived at 1355hrs it's now 1420hrs no staff have come near nor by to take our orders

Where to begin. The meet and greet was appalling, left stood waiting like a idiot whilst the "receptionist" was taking a phone booking. No acknowledgement whatsoever. You can see why you have to pay for your food as you order it. Food arrived in good time but the soggy fries and dull coleslaw was reminiscent of school dinners. 2 slices of garlic and cheese bread for £4.49 was an absolute rip off. It is blatantly obvious that the prices are inflated in order for people to use vouchers. There is nothing that endears you to this restaurant, from the sticky tables to the indifferent staff. God only knows why this place even exists, it's an insult to dining.

We came for a holiday, the seating areas were not clean, we waited 40 minutes for the main course after the starter plates. While there was no heavy reservation traffic inside, the steak plate was also cold. Our first and last experience. If you're hungry, think twice.

When we were shown to our table there was food all over the floor that hadn't been cleared. I mentioned it to waitresses saying please don't think that mess is us it was already there. She smiled said OK and carried on leaving the mess there. When we arrived outside the front door there was chalk drawing all over the entrance pathway this looked extremely bad and should have been cleared up. It was still there when we left an hour later. You could argue the Parents should not have left the mess. This restaurant was not at all busy and sadly the standard is slipping very badly. I do believe the staff work hard but sadly like most businesses now they do not properly train staff and expect them to work 120%

I had a salad which I enjoyed the husband had ribs which he says we're overcooked. Service was a bit slow. We only really eat here as it has a play area for the children.

Visited today for breakfast to find that the restaurant was very busy, but we offered a table anyway. Excellent staff, but there were only two of them, and they were run off their feet and overwhelmed. After paying, we found there was very little continental breakfast, no milk in the jug, the coffee machine was empty, no mugs, plates, or bowls available. We assumed that someone had gone sick until we were told that they were not allowed anymore staff in there. It is disgusting that they are expected to run the restaurant with two staff members who could apologise enough. We ended up getting a refund and left and would not go back again.

Good carvery on a sunday , just watch out for the chair seats !.

Sticky menus and tables. I had to wipe my table because they were short staffed. Underside of some chairs were ripped and hanging out, plus they are heavily stained. Table tops are worn and looks 3rd hand. Curtains are broken. The whole place needs a Gordon Ramsay overhaul.

Great place in Margate. Great food, reasonably priced and staff very friendly.

Went for mother's day lunch with family. Crispy fish was wet &soggy all 3 of them portions were very small not like the old promenade.The toilets are a pure disgrace filthy old mould along the floors smells of old urine,needs a whole refit in my opinion.& To charge £4.50 per child to play in the manky child's area is a joke.

Had a table booked for 8:15 Sunday morning for their advertised ‘Unlimted breakfast’ with my 10 year daughter To be told upon arrival we only have a maximum30 minutes on our table. Why wasnt this made clear upon booking? Unlimted breakfast as long as you swallow food without chewing!?

Kid friendly, soft play inside restaurant pay for access for 2hrs whilst you dine, outdoor play park also, I believe this is free of charge. Usual brewers fayre menu, staff were efficient friendly and helpful. Will visit again

Went for breakfast this morning booked for 9am, order taken 9.15 and then we waited and waited ...30mins later our food arrived. Sadly not piping hot as it should of been for freshly cooked. But barely warm, very disappointing.

I was staying next door at the premier Inn Margate, so this restaurant was very convenient for me. There was a nice selection of food, I tried various things over the 3 days and was pleased with the quality, and happy that I could take the food to my room. I'm both physically disabled and visually impaired and the staff were helpful. I especially want to mention Lisa who carried my food up to my room for me on the evening of Tuesday 5th March. This was very kind of her, I use a walking frame and had a large order. Very good service and made all the difference. She's a credit to the restaurant.

Me and my family have been going here for breakfast on Sundays for about 3 years. Sadly in the last 6 months there has been some personnel changes, causing the service to decline week on week. The food and drinks aren't topped up as promptly as they were, there are long waits, and what seems like very little care from the management. It's a shame because the food is good (apart from the hashbrowns), and it is very well priced, especially as children eat for free.

One of the best meals we have had at the promenade, presented well, hot and fresh this is not always the case.

Staff are nice, and food is as expected from a chain. Perfectly fine.

Typical Brewers Fayre restaurant attached to a Premier Inn. Understaffed! But the one's that were there worked hard and well done to them! Food ok. Prices ok. Worth a visit for sure.

Food was great, apart from a very sharp bone that i bit into on plate, queues too long and not enough staff serving, overall was ok. 2nd visit, had to repeat my order 3 times to the guy serving me he just wasnt paying any attention & kept stopping to talk to other staff members, no customer service at all also 2nd visit, machine didn't take my registration and ended up with a ticket I won't be returning!! Save your money and go elsewhere!!!

Food is very nice and great value too. Staff were friendly. Graffiti in the gents toilet near the front door plus the general state of the toilet floor would have put me off eating here if I had used the loo first. I had reported this on feed back to the attached Premier Inn about 8 months prior and was deprived to see it just the same. Assumed it would have been sorted.

Came for breakfast buffet had to wait for mugs, bowls, food lol and when they finally appeared with a tray of eggs only 6! So again unless you are front of queue the wait goes on. Serving area is too cramped for a busy breakfast time. On a positive note sausages we're pretty nice and the waitresses were very helpful

we are regular lunch diners at the Promenade and have always been very happy with the quality of the food and the presentation and most important it is servrd on hot plates we would also like to commend three members of staff whom we have found to be unfailingly polite helpful and friendly, Namely Olivia Jack and Kelly who always greet you with a smile and ask how you are, Makes such a difference to the dining experience

Visited for a birthday lunch service was slow on the steak meals both chips /peas were only just warm meal was changed no apologies from manager but table staff did apologise the meals returned to us after a appox half an hour waited. Not very satisfied on this visit.

The food tasted like it was re heated 5 times .the lady brought out a very hot bowl with chips in it didn't tell us the bowl was hot so my son burnt his hand she didn't even tell us it was there should of asked for my money back .she had a face liked a slapped U know what .if there was a zero i would of put that

We visited here as a family there was 10 of us on Christmas day we were booked in for 4pm it took 50 mins for us to be seated when we was seated the waitress was still setting the table around us the cravey was OK but wasn't great for what we paid the roast potato's were frozen brought not made fresh the stuffing had been fired in brad crumbs I would definitely not recommend this place for Christmas Dinner we will not ever book there again

Went for a family Christmas do. The waitress/manager was rude and had a pop at the family when she brought the wrong food out. Wouldn't even look at the receipt which proved it was the wrong food just wouldn't accept it that she was wrong. The carvery was OK at best, the other main meals came out about 45mins after the starters which we can accept it was busy it happens and food was OK wouldn't say it was very inspired. The bar staff and kitchen staff were great. Just the manager or waitress couldn't really tell just had a massive chip on her shoulder. Wouldn't ever go back as she is just a wildly unpleasant person

I get that waitresses get busy and rushed off their feet on Xmas day and that they are short staffed at Brewers fayre in Margate but that's no excuse for disgraceful service,we are hotel guests at the premier Inn and after sitting there waiting for an hour waiting for the meat free option to have with the carvery after the starter we went up to get the carvery because we got sick of waiting for the meat free option then the chef finally gives me the meat free option which they should have brought over to the table we were sat at then after we had the carvery we got sick of waiting for our pudding which was already paid for so an hour later my fiancee asked a waitress to bring over our puddings and we told her what we ordered and paid for back in October then half an hour later we still never got given our puddings and the family on the next table asked for the puddings after we asked for our puddings and they got given their puddings within a few minutes and they wasn't even hotel guests like we are,they lost our bookings as well and we had to remind them what was booked and paid for back in October,it's a disgusting way to treat hotel guests even on Xmas day,we shouldn't be waiting all that time for food that was paid for back in October,we didn't have our puddings in the end because that family on the next table asked for their puddings after we did and they got their puddings within a few minutes and half an hour later we were still waiting for our puddings so we had enough and went back to our room and the puddings need to be refunded,if you are short staffed you close down the restaurant,you can't treat hotel guests like this, it's disgusting.

Twice I've booked a table this week and not been able to go due to "staff shortages". Booked a few days for 12, drove all the way there to be met with shut doors. Luckily someone still came to open it and said they're opening later due to staff shortages and also let us know that the indoor play area wouldn't be open so we left it. Attempted again yesterday, booked for 3pm, was called up to say the same thing, no staff. In the run up to Christmas? Find it hard to believe that everyone got that sick they couldn't come in to work and you couldn't source any other temp staff quickly. I don't blame the staff...I wouldn't be coming in during Christmas week for minimum wage either. Hire more staff for Christmas and/or pay your staff a decent living wage and maybe you won't face problems like these.

Had one evening meal and two breakfasts here, as we were staying in the Premier Inn next door. All the food we had was delicious, well cooked, well presented and the staff were efficient and friendly.

Very cheap, get a table away from the children area if you are in the 60s age range. The dishes are of the microwave type but are top quality hence the prices and the drinks are not too bad and in all honesty if it was in a 5 star restaurant then my credit card would be empty. The staff are very helpful, always smiling and are definitely worth a wage rise well above the minimum wage. All in all very enjoyable and will be returning.

Lovely breakfast, excellent value

Ignore the times on here and on their website. They stop taking food orders at 930. And if you go in at 924 because it says they're open till 11, they will start giving you a countdown of how long you have left to order. On the bright side, the time from ordering my food to it being on my table was less than 5 minutes!

We had a carvery here, the food was lovely, the place is very clean and the service is excellent. The waiter we had at table 40 on Sunday 19th November 2.30pm was really really helpful, he went above and beyond for our party of 6 😁 For value for money I think it would be hard to beat!

We stayed at the neighbouring Premier Inn and ate here for both dinner and breakfast during our stay. Service was friendly and food came out nice and promptly which was great with a 3 year old with us. They also have an attached softplay available from 12pm and an outdoor play area so very family friendly. A bit quiet as school had restarted bur great location by the train station and just a few minutes walk from the beach.

Had breakfast here, decent spread nothing to write home about but you won't be disappointed. Tropical juice was lovely.

If you're in Margate and fancy something other than fish and chips from the seafront then this is a great alternative. Very reasonably priced where you can get 2 main dinners for £10.99. Didn't seem to need to book in advance and even at a very busy lunchtime there were tables available. Great place to eat 👍

A cute lil place, the staff were really friendly and informative. The food was decent, I had dinner and breakfast there, i think I enjoyed breakfast more, they do all you can eat for £10 and you can reserve a spot. I'm not sure if this is exclusive to the hotel and branch that u visited is attached to though. They have a supervised play area too, you can pay to put your kids in. You can also eat in there if you want to while your kids play.

Sheltered in here from the rain on a busy sat. Managed to get a table and be served in decent time. Pleasantly surprised by the food considering how busy they were. Staff were friendly and accommodating. Not the cleanest, sticky tables and toilets weren’t the best.

Came here for my granddaughters birthday and it was absolutely awful. The staff wasn't very inviting, very abrupt and didn't want to make conversation. There was hardly anything on the menu. Whatever we ordered there was something they didn't have. The tables were sticky and the toilets were absolutely disgusting to the point we couldn't use then. Would not go back and wouldn't recommend this place to a single person.

Had a couple of Sunday Roasts from the carvery, fantastic food, very friendly and attentive staff.

My friend's roast potatoes were bad, kept heated for ages, totally dry. The meal was replaced but should never have been served

I can’t believe how down hill this place has become since my last visit last year. Very short staffed, massive queue at the bar stretching to the door. Bar staff allowed a customer to push in which really got my back up. I won’t be visiting again and it has put me off any future stay at the premiere inn.

Love the brekkie used to go Toby carvery for breakfast but since I found out about brewers fayre its defo preferred

I had a bad experience there, the way the staffs behaved to us were really unappreciative, the lady who worked there I think she's a manager or supervisor, shouted at us in a very bad manner where other guests was there. If we've not paid for the food we would've gone. After that the way they served food really ruined our mood to have it. You should never behave any guest to like that as it is not a part of hospitality.

Not happy with the Manger , she was too rude with my friends and refuse to take orders and asked them to leave ,quantity of food is too low and high price , better to change Manger or teach her the behaviour

first of all brewers should teach there staff how to behave to customers. the lady manager was so rude with us . she doesn’t know how to behave to others. shame on your customer service.before brewers run out of business it’s better you change the lady manager. thank you.

Booked a table on to find it was given to someone else. My in-laws always booked the same table for easy access So we was disappointed

Pub attached to a Premier Inn. Good pub menu choices at a decent value. Very slow service considering there was hardly anyone else in there on a Tuesday afternoon visit
