Lush plants, wide choice and the shop has something for everyone…. But! AVOID THE CAFÉ. Service is DIRE. 4 Staff about, unmanaged. 3 tables were occupied. 1 outside - the setting is lovely, 2 inside. We ordered 2 paninis - waited more than half an hour! The couple on the table next to us got restless…. They had ordered long before us, they remonstrated, got their food long after we had finished ours. UNbelievable!

Went for a quick lunch I ordered a club sandwich, alas it took 30 mins to arrive. No warning or apology for such a long wait. If I had know it was going to to be so long I wouldn't of bothered as I had an appointment to get to. Had to rush my lunch and left in hurry and didn't notice they had added a service charge to the bill. Since I didn't have good service not to happy.

Friendly staff but the food was terrible. Scrambled eggs on toast was a real let down with not enough egg and lacking any taste. Pancakes with compost and yogurt very sad looking - dry pancakes with hardly any compost or yogurt. Just a very poor effort. Coffee was very nice though.

We had an excellent lunch today. There was a large range of menu items, but we chose a Ploughman's (huge piece of cheese, salad, pickles, bread) and a Chicken and Bacon Caesar Salad (well cooked strips of bacon, tender chicken pieces, yummy garlic bread, salad leaves). Plus a large pot of proper tea made with tea leaves (well, a small one but with another pot of hot water) and an Italian lemonade. Service was efficient and charming.

Once a favourite some seven years ago, we thought we would lunch here on a visit to Bath. Now table service, we were shown to the table quickly. Then a long wait for service and after going to the food counter and enquiring about the time it would take for food to arrive a waitress eventually visited the table. We decided to opt for scones and cold drinks as we were tight for time and advised the waitress that this was the case. Scones and cold drinks, can’t take more than five minutes can it. Keeping an eye on procedures and seeing a young lady running , apparently to a store and then back again carrying what appeared to be a bag of scones, we though any minute now and we would have our food and carry on with our day. No, about fifteen minutes later and no eye contact or action whatsoever from any staff we had no choice but to cancel our order, skip lunch and leave. Sadly a very disappointing experience.

A miserable cafe - unclean, slow service and awful food. Not a place I'll revisit unless it has a total transformation.

It looks pretty much the same as before the redec. The veggie breakfast here was one of the best in town but don’t know if the chefs changed or the menu or both but it is now all brown and whilst what I had was nice - the avocado and egg - it wasn’t close to the deliciousness of what was. If it’s not broke don’t fix it! Staff were lovely though even if we waited for a bit - it was busy. Coffee good.

Visited on the 6th August for a drink and pastry. Each table has a container holding tired looking sauce bottles, and mayonnaise. They all required wiping and the sauce had congealed around the tops. The outside floor area required power washing and. the waiting staff could have better spent the time tidying around instead of chatting. Too many staff doing not a lot!

Prior Park Garden Centre gives great service in every department. The cafe cooks up a fabulous cooked breakfast and the coffee is the very best outside of Vienna! They also serve awesome soups at lunchtime as well as a wide selection of cakes including the yummy date and sweet potato (yes, you heard right, try it!). They also have a wonderful deli shop with great curry sauces from Covent Garden. The quality of plants in the Garden Centre draw you in and this is supported by the most friendly knowledgeable Garden staff at hand to advise you on your choice if needed.

Terrible experience today in pet section, asked a lady for some help with selecting a new cat food and was told that she had to do something else quick which was fine, but after 10 minutes of waiting, I went to look if anyone else could help me, I found the same girl texting and gossiping with another staff member. She apologised saying she forgot but didn’t move to continue to help me. I left without purchasing anything and won’t be returning. Such a shame as I’ve found lots of great items for here before but if staff don’t care about customers, then I won’t bother to shop there.

This is my local centre, the staff are always helpful, friendly and knowledgable. The cafe food is great. My only reservation up until today was the awful coffee, like dishwater even if you ask for a second shot ( not standard here even though it’s normal in flat white and cappuccino). Today, however, was a pleasant change, two lovely efficient young ladies in charge of breakfast and coffee and the coffee was AMAZING! Smooth milk froth heated to the correct temp and not scalded, the correct balance between expresso shots and milk. Well done, ladies, not a single complaint about this great garden centre!!

My daughter and i came into Prior Park cafe for breakfast, yesterday ,12/5. The service was excellent. i asked how the breakfast was cooked. I am doing weight watchers. The waitress said she would ask the chef. The chef himself came out to me. He explained exactly how my breakfast had been cooked. I later told him, the breajkfast was excellent. The poached eggs were devine! Thankyou, for making our experience an excellent one.

I visited with my two young (well behaved) children for the first time, but felt disappointed at the numerous signs saying that 'responsible adults' were to keep their children near at all times. It felt quite condescending and unwelcoming. I fortunately don't encounter signs like these anywhere else, so wonder why they felt them necessary at this garden centre, when nearly all other places manage fine without condescending signs?

Been eating here since our kids were at school in Widcombe and honestly the food and cakes just get better all the time. The menu appears quite basic but what arrives is far from basic if you go for the salads, specials and soups. That said when you need a cheesy panini or coronation chicken sandwich on yummy granary with a side of delicious fries you cant beat it. The chef clearly knows flavours and what is described on the menu as a roasted vegetable and hummus salad turns out to be a gastronomic presentation of delicious layers of soft caramelised roasted veggies, crunchy walnuts and crisp radish, garden leaves on top of purées carrots, hummus and basil oil drizzle ... honestly it was soooo yummy and on the side toasted heavenly sour dough. Cake recommendations have to be the sweet potatoe and gooey date vegan slice or the almond n raspberry frangipani or for more adventurous the earl grey tea and lemon cake. Finally the staff are lovely, really helpful and great at making good recommendations. If I were to offer an addition to this gorgeous cafe it would be to have the chef do more of his creations ... they’re really yummy ... oh and to have veggie sausage (McCartneys) on the menu at breakfast.

Decided to call in this garden centre during a stay in Bath. At first we were quite impressed as the quality of the plants looked good. The shop inside was much smaller than we had imagined from their website but there was quite a variety of goods. The farm shop was small and we bought some nice local cheese but I would question the freshness of some of the produce as the salad leaves we bought were a bit slimy. The main disappointment was the cafe. Slow, unfriendly service with limited food on offer and very small cups of coffee for the price.

Bueno, volvamos, simplemente no habrá pastel. . .

Att 11:15, by the clock in the cafe I arrive and join a queue to be served with approx 4 people in front of me. When the lady in front of me places her order she asks if they are still serving breakfast, the server goes to the kitchen and checks, yes they are still serving breakfast and she orders her cheese on toast and drinks. 30 seconds later I order a bacon and egg sandwich and a cup of tea, the server goes to check if they are still serving breakfast, the lady returns and tells me break fast finished at 11:30. I say i have been waiting in the queue for 15 minutes, very sorry but that's it. There are few things here this place needs to take on board.1. Show some flexibility, nothing will annoy your customer more than a rules based jobsworth attitude to service.2. It was very busy , have another person serving it was obvious the queque was moving painfully slowley as people were asked to get table numbers, mums with their children were understandably changing their orders.3. I am a local and have been coming here for years both at the garden centre and the cafe, I am here most weekends and spend a LOT of money. I really like the place but simple incident like this and one persons rigid attitude has really really annoyed me, so much that i don't want to come back but I don't have a choice which makes me even more frustrated hence this post. Because of one bacon and egg sandwich and a cup of tea you have lost me and probably people I will no doubt tell this story to as well.

We've ordered our Christmas turkey from Prior Park for some years, but we won't again. We ordered a large turkey last year; came to collect it on Christmas Eve; and found it in a large plastic bag, rather than the usual bag inside a box. We were told they didn't have a big enough box. One of the staff intimated that it was so big that it hadn't fitted in the fridge. We also noticed that there was a hole in the plastic bag about the size of a 10p coin. We had already paid for it, so we took it home anyway. On taking it out of the bag, it became quite apparent that it had a bad smell. We immediately phoned the garden centre, but by that time it was closed. We had to dispose of the turkey. We were due to be feeding quite a number of people the next day. Fortunately, we located a similar sized turkey that same afternoon. On returning to Prior Park after Christmas, having deliberated about what to do for some days, we approached the boss about this disaster, but he didn't want to know.

Plus upstairs there's a cafe, and you can sit out if the weather's nice.

This is a hang out for many parents after school: free parking, the food and coffee are delicious, children enjoy the huge shop downstairs especially the pet section, as well as adults looking for a special gift or to buy a plant from the nursery. There is a big choice of international goodies, if you are willing to pay the price.

Widcombe is blessed to have a number of excellent eateries that serve great breakfasts, lunch’s and evening meals. I had not been to the cafe at Prior Park Garden Centre for about 18 months. The food was still of a good standard but I feel the service from the staff has dropped a little. A little acknowledgement and a smile would go a long way to changing that. There are definitely better cafes in Widcombe.

Just pooped in to get some soup and so queued at the counter behind one person who was served and so then it was my turn or so I thought, The lady behind me was then asked what she wanted and she paid. Just an over site I thought so i was patient as it would surely be my turn next. Oh how wrong I could be as serving person asks the next customer what the would like, at this point I ask the staff member if I`m invisible and she barks back `just wait will you`. At this point I walk out.

The plant selection is excellent but super pricey. Still I liked the place until I had a really bad experience with buying fish. Long story short, they don't say you have to bring a water sample PRIOR to buying fish; they don't accept 20 years of aquarium keeping expertise, and actually refused to sell me fish based only on the fact that I hadn't bought products from them. We'd waited weeks to get fish for my son's birthday aquarium and were turned away with him in tears even after I suggested they not guarantee the fish if they didn't trust my abilities. Extraordinary. A subsequent complaint email to the managers has been totally ignored. I now buy from a more expensive chain where they treat me like an adult and a customer, not an idiotic nuisance. I'll never spend a dime here again.
