Love this pub, it's a great building and on the canal. The food prices go up each year and are over priced and there's no beer under £7. It's a sensory overload on weekends with too many kids running around which ruins the vibe as parents use the place as a creche

If you like wet bread with two unseasoned patties grab a burger from here, I tried to take a picture but it kept slipping off the plate when I put it down to grab my phone. I asked a female bar staff where the toilet was and they looked at me like I had just defecated on the floor in the middle of the pub. Highly recommend.

UPDATE: 25/1/25 Poor experience from a female brunette with combed eyebrows, behind the bar. Most tables had reservations for the afternoon but we came in for brunch and coffee after a dog walk. After waiting 10 minutes we got told to sit in the corner. Snobby attitudes will never get my money again. Gentrification changes alot of businesses attitudes and it's a shame if thats to be the case. People need to check themselves! (Previous review) Dog friendly and great Good! Really friendly staff. Wish they still did the club sandwich though!

Bar managers breath melted my face off in scenes reminiscent of Indian jones last crusade. Personal hygiene when operating a customer facing business is a must. Regardless of this, food was overcooked and under seasoned. Beer was on the verge of flat but almost passable. As if £7.20 wasn’t already enough of a slap in the face.

The food is fantastic, not been disappointed yet from burgers to Sunday roast, even had my mum's 80th there and it was enjoyed by all. Good variety of beer /wine/spirits although wine is at the more pricey side. Only gripe was although loaded fries were absolutely delicious the loaded bit did not adhere to the fries and ended up on the bottom of the bowl it tasted fab but maybe something that would make them stick to the fries would elevate them more to my liking

Stumbled into here without a reservation on Boxing Day and the team couldn’t have been more welcoming. Everything we ordered was so delicious and such good value. Will be back!

Went for Sunday roast. The place was full, but we actually found a table. Problem is the host was incredibly rude because he was overwhelmed. Still, not a reason to completely dismiss patrons who come to eat your food and give you their money. Bottom line is, they didn't deserve us sitting in their pub and paying for their food. One rude staff member can really ruin the whole thing.

Reservado para 7 adultos y un bebé así solicitado trona, mesa estaba lista, pero tuvimos que cambiar de trona ya que las correas no funcionaban correctamente. No usamos la aplicación para ordenar como tantos de nosotros - no hay problema. Bebidas pedidas y llegaron rápidamente buena elección de cervezas y bebidas no alcohólicas. Elegimos el menú del Domingo Asado y las raciones eran grandes y bien cocidas, aunque la carne de res un poco demasiado cocida. No todos tenían postre, pero el crumble de pera / ciruela cayó bien. Personal muy agradable y atento en todo momento. Un poco concurrido y ruidoso, pero es de esperar en esta época del año. Baños buenos y limpios.

I will always visit again! Went there yesterday. This atmospheric Pub with a real fire place, super-cosy lights, places to sit and enjoy is the perfect Pub. If I would invent one it would be like this. Friendly staff, great (!) food, music not loud, next to the river , great super long history of the building. The perfect place to hang out. Loved literally EVERYTHING about it. I will always visit again. You guys are great!🤗👍

La comida es solo lo que queremos querer para una noche casual, no demasiado elegante y tampoco demasiado básico. ¡Nos encanta el queso mac 'n', por favor no dejes de ofrecerlo! We quite enjoyed our meal, which was bangers and mash, with kale, and chicken pie with chips. My sausages and mash were excellent, though the kale was tough, as is quite often. So a good portion of cabbage would be a better choice to go with. My son's pie was okay. There was plenty of chicken, though it was shredded and dry. Maybe diced would be more appetising. The pastry was very dark and not crisp (microwaved). There wasn't any veg with the pie, just chips and not particularly great gravy We all would appreciate a selection of seasonal veg with a pie. So, quite nice, but could be substantially better by a little more thought.

Went several times for drinks, lovely and cozy inside. Customer service is ok but when it comes to food NO. Ate in 4 times, during weekend and week days the food hasnt been great and we had to go toilette for n.2. Food Safety doesn't exist.

just stopped by for a saturday lunchtime drink but this place seemed to have a bright family friendly crowd, i'll have to stay longer next time

I've got to say that the one of the bar staff need's some customer service training. Rolling eyes, one word replies, no Thankyous . Maybe I'm expecting too much. Did not feel welcomed by her - just slightly annoyed. I'm sure the night will improve 😊

Exceptionally tasty veggie/vegan roast A complex nut roast blend of salt baked celeriac, Jerusalem artichoke, sea herb (is that seaweed? Who knows!) It was delicious! The menu had some stuff on it we didnt understand but the server updated us on what was what (apparently 'picante' is a cocktail!) Amenable staff & a buzzing super busy vibey pub!

Amazingly located pub, just by the canal. I ate the best fish & chips I’ve ever had there, with a nice crispy batter - plus all gluten free! They prepare the batter with gf flour and they also have gluten free beer on tap. Gf is not displayed on the main menu, but you can ask for the allergen folder and staff have been helpful. As in most places, there is a risk of cross-contamination in the kitchen, but they seem quite knowledgeable and careful. There’s also some gf puddings on the menu. So nice to be able to eat and drink those classics there 🩵

I came here with my family on the weekend and I cannot fault the place! We had such amazing service not only at our table but also at the bar, the staff were so kind and attentive, it was such a great atmosphere and you could tell that the staff genuinely enjoyed working there which shows in their service. The food was SOOO delicious, I had the chicken pie and was told that they're made in house! This was hands down, the best pie I have ever had! Everyone else on the table thoroughly enjoyed their meals as well. The vibe of the pub itself is so good, the location is great, right on the canal with a picturesque view, it's a great place for a meal or just to stop by for a drink. I would really recommend this spot to everyone! Thanks guys for making our visit so memorable, we will be back!

Popped in for a coffee early morning on a canal walk. We were the only customers as it was so early but we had very good service. The coffee was first class!

We had another enjoyable visit for a Sunday get together with dogs, fireplace and lots of families.

Visited on Sunday afternoon. Unhelpful staff when asking about meals that are both gluten free and vegan. Initially, they were unable to provide a response but provided us with a hefty folder which we were left to decipher. Eventually, a manager was called. He was able to tell us that they did not have any meals which were gluten-free and vegan, making derogatory remarks about my eating 'preferences'. He was then asked if there was anything the kitchen could put together for us. He came up with nothing. We eventually ordered hummus, chips and a salad, for which we were charged 3 full individual dishes, which came to a higher price than the Sunday Roast dinner eaten by the rest of the group. On being challenged about this, the manager asked what I would like him to do about it. We suggested a price reduction for the meal. This was agreed to. Cutlery was dirty. The drinks server brought a tray of drinks and had no idea what was on it. The entire time we were there, no one returned to the table to ask if we wanted another drink. Having said all of this, the food was good.

If I could give a higher rating I honestly would.

Excellent early evening dinner, broad range of food options all of which were excellent. This place will become a regular choice for us.

Fantastic food we all really enjoyed it especially the gluten free fish and chips! We were a big table and service was fantastic. A little annoying to have a big folder to figure out what is gluten free though would be better on the menu or an iPad. Really helpful staff. Children’s meals were pretty expensive and small but delicious.

Nice Young's pub, with decent food and kind staff. Aura v helpful in build up to going, swift to reply to emails. Sunday lunch by the river very relaxing but beware of noise levels from different dining tables inside. Parking is £2 in the pub car park, but it's taken off your bill when receipt presented.

Always a lovely place to have a drink by the river, lively atmosphere and pleasant decor and staff.

Love this spot. If you can snag a table outside on the canal it's a beautiful place for a couple of drinks. Inside is good too and spacious but for me this spot is all about sitting on the canal.

The roast dinner here is soo good, gravy was perfect and meat so tender, perfect with a cider🤭

I popped in for a pint and a bite to eat yesterday and was served by the lovely Martha! She made my day- will deffo be back.

Last night was my first time in this pub and it was bustling, yet the service remained outstanding. I had a delicious plant burger and chips which came quickly despite how many customers there were - props to the vegan mayo as well! Amber, a fellow Scot, provided exceptional hospitality on the busy bar, making the evening feel personal and welcoming despite the crowd. Her warm and attentive care elevated the experience, and I would highly recommend this spot for both the atmosphere and the service - I can’t wait to return!

Love this pub! Great place to spend a Sunday afternoon. Lovely food (pork roast and choc cake were sensational), great selection of drinks and a wonderful atmosphere in a pub full of dogs and families. The canal view is idyllic and plenty of space to sit outside when it’s warm enough.

What a stunning pub! The food was well priced and totally worth it, our party tried a selection of starters, mains, Sunday roasts, desserts, they were all delicious! The service is personal but not overbearing, kudos to Martha for being a stellar professional and making our visit even more enjoyable!

Beautiful traditional, dog-friendly, river pub, with cool freindly staff, and great service. Your ideal date pub. Food served until 9.30pm weekdays, lovely canal views and perfect ambience, frequented by runners and cyclists. Wide range of snacks and spirits and a beautiful pint of Guinness. Defo one to pop in on when passing, or get the squad out for a Sunday roast.

I love the place, but £3 for half a pint of lemonade is insanity.

I have been before many times. On this occasion I booked a table outside, there was music playing, a new thing so I asked to move inside, this was not a problem. The menu has changed, for the better, three of us shared three starters. Very good food.

The food needs to be better , please get more chefs so when it's busy you can still give out good food . Not burned fries and tastles Sunday Roast speacialy with that bad taste gravy . I don't know who the chef is but some one needs to taste the foods again . I know your busy but don't forget why you are busy . I used have best foods but now is going Down so bad . That i start regrating spending on food there .I spend 30£ on food I expect quality. I think I won't be coming any more specialy for food. The food looks good but needs to test good 2

A lovely place to go to in the evening especially on a lovely summer's night. Lovely atmosphere and friendly locals. However considering the food is frozen its prices are ridiculous. Food mediocre, but the fish and chips are lovely.

What a cool spot right on the river. Ducks and canal boats and comfy outdoor seating. Food was great and service was super nice. They also have an easy parking lot.

Didn't go in, have just ran or rode past a few times, looking up the stepped terrace and thinking I'll go one day, thinking the sun shall shine on me facing south and Ill get fat and dehydrated and smile and it will look like a grimace 5 stard

Great location, super nice on the canal. The cheapest rose was £10+ for a medium glass. Staff were super disappointing, there were 4 staff members behind the bar faffing around and a full bar of people waiting. The Hugo spritz is disappointing- it should be done with St Germain but instead an elderflower sugar syrup and gin is used, it butchers the recipe and what you think you’re getting. We tried to order some tater tots, were told they were sold out. We came back just to grab some olives and we’re told the kitchen was shut at 9:30pm. The menus were still out as well. The whole ordeal was just off.

All of their burgers are lovely, and the service is great as their apps allow you to order from the table and promptly get food/drinks delivered.

I tried this pub several times and it was always a nice experience. This time we had a nice Mac and cheese with truffles and phenomenal Pear & plum crumble with ice cream. The staff is well chosen, super kind, helpful, fast. The atmosphere is great, seating in front of a river is very relaxing. The place is also super dog friendly, there is even a dog ice cream 🙂. I will continue to go as much as possible. Thanks!

Hands down one of the best pubs in london, great on winter to cosy up inside but absolutely amazing in summer to have some drinks in the garden by the canal. Food is divine, staff are great 10/10 pub
