I work all over the country and although deceptive from the outside, this is one of the most friendly pubs I’ve visited, the staff & customers welcome you with open arms. The banter during the football was brilliant, especially with the diverse selection of customers.

Visited with friends during a pub crawl through the High Street. We decided to try the food and we were pleased. Adequate portions for a reasonable price.

So the last Friday before Christmas, we had planned our usual traditional lads night (Food & lots of booze) at the Sportsman down the road, same as every other year. Unfortunately, due to football scheduling, we realised that venue would be packed that night, and not as enjoyable, so we took a chance on the Prince of Wales, and were not disappointed at all.The food hit the spot. It's not going to be a top rated spot for food, but it's still pretty good. We had the usual long table spread with mixed grills & curries.People behind the bar were great banter, friendly and welcoming. Drinks reasonably priced.Nice quirk with the punjabi dancers in the main room, some great Indian music being played too.All in all, a great night, and won't be our last one in there.

google maps show closing time 9:30, drive all the way from bristol reach there 8:30, two workers were cleaning but shop was open, explain them we drive 2 hrs didnt allow us buying, this must not be punjabi service and its sooo rude ,pathetic never come to this shop again...

5 High StreetUsed Eastern nights for well over 30 yrs. Yesterday I ordered a delivery , 1hr 10 mins quoted . 1hr 50mins the totally wrong order was delivered. I phoned the delivery driver , he phoned back said the manager would call . 15 mins later I called . The manager said I could have the delivery. I declined as nothing on the order was correct , The manager said " what do you want me to do " I said send me my correct order , he said ill phone you back . Never bothered . I'm totally appalled at this . Only thing it wasn't the usual person , who used to take phone orders . I ordered from sizzling balti, this order was spot on and the food was very tasty .
