Prince Maurice Pub in Plymouth

A very enjoyable afternoon/ evening. The staff were on the ball most the time , but come teatime when the amount of people grew another staff member behind the bar would have kept the long queues down for drinks. The males in our group were saying that your prepaid ticket system was a better more efficient idea. The layout of covered /non covered seating areas was a good idea. Access for everyone was good although wheelchairs may have struggled on the rough ground. Families with pushchairs were fine. Everyone was welcome from babies to more mature members of the public. Dogs were on leashes and well behaved. Our group chose not to have food on site but the menus looked good and varied. Saying that, dirty chips at £7 I thought was expensive. The 1st entertainer was very talented, the guitarist was good and clear but could have had the volume down abit so people could hold conversations without shouting.... Next was a band called viscious kitten, now they were awesome... quite fast paced, straight into each song to another, good varied choices in songs, got people up dancing, young and mature. Great pub, great crowd and not too expensive.

Stopped in here for a drink while waiting for a friend was so glad. It was so good to be in such a warm welcoming friendly place.

Been here several times now and all the locals are very polite and friendly as are the staff great little pub reminds me of days past for how pubs used to be

The pub is actually closed and has been for some time but there was a beer festival across the road from it, waited in a queue for over half hour to get served and ended up with a beer that weren't to my liking, which my fault for choosing it out of the dozen beers they had, there was a marquee with entertainment, which also wasn't to my liking but also down to my taste in music, weather was good but only ended up staying for one drink as I couldn't be bothered to wait over half hour every time I needed a drink , even though I did buy two pints in one go.

Fantastic local pub, great lunch menu with a good variety of options from mains to light bites such as baguettes. Thoroughly enjoyed their steak burger, highly recommend!

Went for a birthday lunch with the 'girls'! This is a really cosy pub with a coal fire and lots of string lights adding to the ambience. Lunch was lovely and beautifully presented. A small pub but lots of atmosphere and parking for customers.

The " PM " is a great pub. It really feels like a lovely country pub with a great atmosphere and willing staff. Food is excellent and the beverages are exceptional. There is always someone there that I know. I go there as often as I can. And always have a great time. It is about 10 minutes away from where I live.

Nice friendly pub, good drink selection and jut up from the local fish and chip shop so you can get your fish and chips, eat outside the go into the pub. Would recommend a visit.

Pub good,but don't try to book taxi home,tried to get taxi to campsite,told a 2 hour wait,,big thumbs down Plymouth. Won't be rushing back.

It's the locals that make this pub! You're always made to feel welcome and the atmosphere is friendly and relaxed. Have quite often found interesting people to chat to that I've never met before when I've visited this pub. For me the only negative would be a lack of a good choice of cider, but they do do a good gin selection so that positive cancels out the cider negative 😀

Came here for a nice lunch in the sunshine, three of us ordered the Chicken Ceasar Salad and it was absolutely delicious! So filling, plenty of chicken and bacon, red onion, cucumber, tomatoes, parmesan, croutons, and a lovely dressing! Really friendly lady working behind the bar as well, even came out to check that the food was all alright. Thank you! X

Proper hidden gem, one of Plymouth's most important beer pubs for a long time

Proper old fashioned Real Ale pub, don't come here for gastro-food or a child friendly creche. It is refreshing to have a pub which is purely for socializing over a pint of real ale with the occasional cheer from the darts corner. Old style pub just the way it should be!

One of the best pubs in the UK. Brilliant beer. Oldie World pub with bags of atmosphere. It does not sell food. Just an old style brilliant pub.
