I had the “Half a yard” which is a very nice fresh sandwich, lovely flavours but needs to be offered with chips as I was still a bit hungry 😂

The absolute best place to grab a bite in Plymouth

Fab breakfast here today. Went with a sausage and bacon stick which was amazing. Really high quality sausages, lovely back bacon and all piled high. Just what was needed on a wet and windy day.

Food is top notch (well, it's low quality but cheap and you kind of know what to expect). Staff are miserable and unhelpful (wouldn't put an empty van I bought there in their bin to stop it blowing in the sea). Lack of plate and cutlery is annoying.

What a disappointment. Ordered half a yard, which should be two sausages on French bread. More like a sausage pattie in a cheap long roll that you could not eat without cutting it down into sections. Difficult to pick up and the sausage was sliced down the middle to open up, so no longer a hot dog but a sausage pattie. Had to ask for foil to break it down to make it manageable and not floppy. If it was French bread, wouldn't have been as bad. The young girl was very helpful.

Quality food, very busy location which shows it's popularity! There was a bit of a wait on food due to how busy it was but it was worth the time.

100% the best place to drop by for a bite to eat. Every time I visit family I come for a Jasperizer burger! Cannot be beat!

Got one of those really large hot dogs and I was not ready for how comically big it was going to be 🤣 but it also didn't disappoint on taste, I took it home and put cheese and toasted it but honestly even on its own I'm sure would have been so good! Recommend the brownies there as well. Only thing I would say that let's it down is they don't sell chips lol

Unfortunately not as good as it used to be. The sausage tasted cheap and mushy to the point we thought they were undercooked. The onions placed on tasted raw and the bread was not great. Overall, it was a real shame as we don't visit very often and we're hoping for better.

One of the most authentic places in Plymouth. Very friendly service, great atmosphere and amazing food for pretty low prices compared to anything else in the harbor - a big recommendation!

Disorganised orders, slow service (we waited for almost 30 minutes for two bacon sandwiches) and a lady, who we assume was the owner was speaking down to and being rude towards her staff for 'looking unprofessional' when changing sides. The only thing unprofessional was the way the lady spoke to her staff; Not nice to see and certainly not necessary. It has put me off wanting to spend money here, which is a shame.

Had a sizzling sausage from here, it was bloody awful and not worth the £4.50. If I was serving that to customers, I would be totally embarrassed. Was really looking forward to going there, as havnt been for many yrs and was so disappointed. If you're going to serve large bread sticks then I think the sausage should fill it, and the onions were so over done,well burnt. I'll stick to Claires snacks next time

Used to be a regular stop off when down the Barbican, the quality of the meat is poor but you didn't mind as it was cheap and cheerful. Prices have hiked up, almost as much as some pub restaurants and with that losing its appeal.

WHAT MONSTER BURGERS!!!!! Amazing place it is!!!!! We went on Saturday 2nd November and its fantastic!!!! Tastes very fresh!!!!! A lot more better!! McDonalds etc does not taste like theirs etc If Cap'n Japers have pictures of Jasperizers etc YOU WILL EAT A MASSIVE BURGER!! Sadly you see a massive burger in McDonalds, Burger King etc but its not a Massive Burger in real life!! But Cap'n Jaspers serves the correct size, taste etc Their hot drinks tastes outstanding too!! Highly recommended to all!!! Compliments to the chefs etc We will definitely be returning!!!!!!!

Cheeseburger with onions,very tasty, partner had the yard long hotdog, filled with 2 large sausages,onions,fresh tomato. Very tasty. Sat outside by the marina,watching the world go by

I've been coming here since as long as I have lived in Plymouth, that was way back in 1982. The changed have been huge, the hygiene, the new cabin, the seats etc. But the food is no longer something special. They no longer make their own, and haven't for a while, food. But the quality of the now process foods are low quality meats in low quality buns. Pity.

Disappointed,if the roll is half a yard the sausage certainly isn't, you end up with lots of roll with no sausage

I ordered the cheddar porker and it was delicious and good sights to venture off to after you’re finished. Bring clean hands. They do not have utensils here.

Always love a Jasperizer !!! Or the famous half a yard... Always great for a cup of tea (£1.20 first cup and a £1 after due to 20 pence deposit on the mug ) and to pass the time away.

Have not been for a very long time. The food did not disappoint . it was not busy popped in on our bikes . It is certainly worth paying a visit. All food cooked to order.

I used to go to the trailer before this opened after a stag nite bacon foot long mmm. Thats in the 80s now visited with granddaughter great staff still tea in mug keep topping up burgers just as good..

Very disappointed - nothing like as good as it used to be. Simple straight forward things no attended to. Litter not picked up , tables not wiped.

Popped in today for a cup of tea and bacon sandwich tea was like dishwater. Bacon was really salty and a roll was stale hard on one side crumbling on the other.

Sausage and bacon baps were just what the doctor ordered (in my mind anyway). Good food, great value and a lovely cup of tea in a glass mug. Sitting on the seats next to the marina with the sun shinning. It does not come better than this.

Didn't do anything one of my children would eat we r a family of 6 all 5 had a meal and drink totalling £35 ish we bought chips from somewhere else and a old woman didn't let me have 2 squart of sause on my child's chip even know we bought food there! How rubbish is that!!! I Will not be going there again ... ps we did have sause on everything elce

We have been dining at Captain Jaspers for years but the burgers yesterday were disgusting. I think they have changed meat supplier recently. The food has been excellent until yesterday. I hope they change back to the previous supplier.

Love it there love the location over looking the boats moored in Sutton harbour . Nice bacon baps with fried onions lovely good value too … open air eatery .

There are usually some impressive bikes parked up and freindly Hairy Bikers willing to talk about their wheels! We had a mug of hot Bovril and watched the world go by.

I challenge Captain Jaspers to serve a bread roll more stale than mine. If I dropped that bread roll on my foot I would have broken it. (My foot).

My No1 favourite Pit stop when out on the bike around Plymouth! The Staff may have changed but they are still as friendly and cheerful. Keep it up!

A lovely place in lovely surroundings. Enjoyed a sausage and onion 1 foot long roll. A great visit.

A group of us meet up there to have breakfast before getting the ferry across to drake island the service was very good the staff were friendly and bacon rolls were the best I've had in a long time.

Great food although service a little slow

Sadly, not like it used to be. Have always visited Jaspers when in Plymouth for the long sausage in a roll. The sausage was not a complete sausage, It was cooked cut open and poor quality. The roll was too soft and doughy and broke apart trying to eat it

Had the double burger with cheese and bacon - this was the biggest and best burger I have ever had - it was sunny on the Barbican so excellent to eat outside in the sun . Will definitely be returning soon -

It's the best burger i ever had in years

This used to be a great place, never particularly healthy but was nice to eat. This time the food is greasy, the tea has doubled in price but stayed the same size, and the menu which used to be on the side of the serving area has gone, meaning you're now blocking the order point when deciding what you're having.

Every time I’m taking a walk to the Barbican, I always take a stop at Cap’n Jaspers for a small bite. For me the burgers here gives a street burger shack vibe and may be that’s what attracts me most of the time. The burgers are tasty and portions are big. It’s good value for money although it is not the most hygienic or the best burger place in Plymouth, but if you are craving something greasy and street style - this might be something you need to try!

Well over priced, and not very good food. Great as a novelty, and used to done here regularly. Unfortunately the prices have kept rising well above what it's worth, considering the quality of the food. It's a shame as although never the best food, it was an interesting place to visit. Sad times, as will not return.

Originally from Plymouth. Came home from West Sussex for a week. Really nostalgic to visit Captain Jaspers. Best burger that I have ever eaten and I was in the catering trade for 27 years.

Poring with rain today but I know you guys have covered seats so off we go. Food was fine coffee not as I remembered. The covered seats were a complete fail, got just as wet under them as out. Covers only on one side, waiting for the boss to bring them down I was told, as if it’s only just started raining. It’s not anyone’s fault it raining but I will only go back when the sun is out and it’s dry. Shame really, if only the covered seats were dry it would have made for a much better experience.

We had 5 delicious burgers whilst waiting to get on the ferry. Yum!

Just cheap catering burgers at mega money. Go to Iceland and buy the cheapest burger they have. Put that in a Bap that’s falling apart. No Butter just the grease form the Hotplate its been cooked on. And you’ve got the idea. No one uses gloves. Didn’t see anyone washing hands after order border. Used to be brilliant. With big burgers but now. Just relying on the name. And before the owner says the usual “they are award winning burgers etc etc “ be honest and just serve quality produce.

90p for a cup of tea, free motorbike parking...it's a Plymouth landmark, especially for bikers. Cakes, coffee, tea, bacon, sausage, eggs and burgers. Can't go wrong.

Always pop in to Cap'n Jasper's when we visit Plymouth! A fab place for a burger etc. Between 4 of us, we had a Jasperiser, a white house burger, cheeseburger and cheddar porker, washed down with tea, coffee and coke. Absolutely delicious and at fabulous prices!!! Lovely friendly and efficient staff, food was cooked perfectly and all in all we were very happy!
