We stopped here before our walk. Great little pub in a nice area. We got the crispy chicken chapati and cheesy garlic bread £20 for all which we can't complain about as it tasted really good. Strongly recommend if you meet this place on a walk or for somewhere to stop for dinner.

The restaurant was the only place that was always open and thus reliable. We went here twice for breakfast and once for lunch. Breakfast was very good. The lunch was good although the pizza seemed to be a frozen one simply pimped with some additional toppings - sufficient if you're just hungry. The staff was sometimes very nice and sometimes rather careless.

We went to the Prince Lewellyn twice, once just for a pint and a second time to eat. The staff were great. The pub was always busy, and when we went to eat we hadnt booked in advance so were sat in the TV room, which is a little characterless, but fine. We had halloumi to start and then the steak pie and the pork mains. All was excellent. The pork was really tender and the pie filling very rich. No complaints about the food at all.

We had lunch here and found this place to be in a lovely location. There is a beer garden outside. It looks clean and inviting inside. Dogs are allowed inside, they also have water bowls outside for thirsty dogs. I didnt receive a warm greeting, but the service overall was good. Our waiter was friendly and accommodating. You are able to order online (simple process) or place your order at the counter. My boys had the burger, which was huge and filled them up. They said they enjoyed it. I ordered the pizza which I wasnt keen on. The deep pan crust was hard, dry and crunchy and the base was just too thick. I am disappointed that that my meal wasnt as tasty as I expected for the price. I feel that it is not good value for money. We had 3 burgers and a pizza with four drinks which cost approx £83.

A family group of 4 adults had nipped into beddlegert to find a bite to eat , whilst camping nearby and waiting another camper to arrive. We stood at the bar and was pleasantly told by the female server Zoe to take a seat and she would come take our orders and save our legs, which was a good start. Zoe dealt with our food order at our table, and any time we needed a drink she appeared with tablet in hand. The food was good, I had no complaints we had the blue black burger , salt and pepper loaded fries, the lasagne and fish and chips. All food arrived in good time and piping hot, but extra special mention to be given to the pork belly bites. More of them please, And Zoe the server made our day no shops around for any milk.and was in desperate need. So she let us take a little bit of milk away in a takeaway cup Good beer. Good food and great service Very good experience all round

Extensive menu, friendly staff. Food was out pretty fast. My £17.95 burger was raw for a good 2inch circumference from the centre, inedible. There was no customary mid point checking of ‘is everything okay with your meals’ so informed staff when the plates were being collected. The response: we will inform chef and a muttering of 10% off the £91.96 bill. Felt awkward, nothing was done, will never return.

We love visiting Beddgelert, such a pretty place. We'd never been into the Prince Lewellyn before and were keen to try lunch. What a massive disappointment. Fish goujon ciabatta consisted of 4 cheap frozen breaded bits of something vaguely fishy in untoasted ciabatta with a skimpy bit of undressed salad. BLT was basically the same but instead of fish, 2 thick pieces of cold, far from crispy bacon. Grim ... hilarious that I was obliged to pay when ordering and asked at that point if I wanted to leave a tip! Well, here's a tip ... eat elsewhere.

We had a table booked for 7pm & arrived about 15 mins early, made ourselves known to the bar & were directed to our table which had a notice of reservation on it with our name. We had a server arrive shortly after to take out drinks order & after they were served another server took our food order, we were only having mains. The food arrived approx 20-25 mins later , l had asked for coleslaw as a side instead of peas & although this hadn’t been fulfilled l didn’t let it bother me as my well done steak was done perfectly & tasted absolutely delicious . My wife , son & l thoroughly enjoyed our meals & drinks , the staff were excellent & our Beagle dog thoroughly enjoyed his roast doggie dinner & his big bowl of water . An absolutely delightful place to visit for a family meal , lovely decor & a real nice friendly ambience within … if back in Beddgelert again we will be sure to pop in !!!

We came back from a long walk and wasn't in mood to cook as we were there for holidays. So ended up here for a dinner. It's location is amazing just in front of river for giving you the best view of this beautiful village. Staff was attentive and food was average as well as drinks. Prices as you can aspect in this tourist area. Btw it's dog friendly and atmosphere is really cosy with plenty of seatings inside and out. All I didn't like is the lady who was getting orders, were pushing us to leave by asking every 2 mins not in a good way "anything else or more drinks" even we were in middle of our dinner. Overall experience was not bad.

I just can speak about the restaurant and not the hotel experience. The location in the middle of Bedgellert is just marvellous. Bedgellert is one of the small picturesque villages in Nothern Wales/ Snowdonia Nature Reserve. The food quality was overall pretty good, however I wouldn't recommend the "Stack" burger bc it is just a bunch of meat without any proper sauce and so on. The service at the table was one day amazing, the other day we had to order at the bar and the tables weren't all cleaned. So there is still some room for improvement...

We had a lunch time meal here today, on paying for the meal and sitting down the seats were covered in crumbs. My partners pizza came on a cheese type board which was too small with the pizza touching the table surface, very unhygienic. The pizza went cold in a few minutes with a very tough crust. I had the chicken Tikka Masala and the pieces of chicken were tiny. Very disappointing.

Great place for a meal on a day visit. We went for a walk into the hills and built up a hearty appetite. We chose the Prince Llewelyn as it was dog friendly and there was some nice shaded outdoor seating. We ordered a ploughman's and a beef lasagne and a couple of shandies, they even had a selection of dog treats available at the bar, so even the dog had snacks. Saturday 11th May 2024 started so well..went for breakfast, a good hearty ultimate breakfast for 5. Lady who served us was super friendly. Can't fault the place..set us up nicely for our day out mountain biking. We'd booked for the same night, expecting the same great service.. Unfortunately not the case..it took 2 hours from ordering to getting any food. Multiple attempts asking where our food was. An excuse of a tablet error, still left us with an hour wait. We had no alternative but to wait as there were no other options available in the village as it was a busy weekend. Looking at previous reviews, a mixed bag, but certainly our level of service appears to be quite common. Low staffing levels would be the root cause of their issue. The bar queue there was a wait of 30+ minutes on top of our wait. We got the impression that us just leaving would solve their problem. Being hungry we weren't prepared to. Don't fill the place if you can't manage good weather weekends. Put more staff in the bar/kitchen, pay them more if you are struggling...its a cash cow that place with the right management. We weren't charged for our food, but I didn't even get what I ordered. Too hungry to ask to change it.. This is a minor crisis you need to sort out, we were one of several tables enduring this issue. Good luck recruiting more staff.

Great location, although bear in mind you’ll likely have to pay for parking in the nearby car park. Go in for a pint and you’ll have a pleasant time. Go in for a meal and you’ll be waiting for service for way too long, and inevitably resort to the online menu (the prices are different to the paper menu for some reason). Unfortunately the online menu doesn’t allow you to delineate between starters and mains, so you may find (as i did) that your starter comes 15 minutes after you’ve finished your main. Honestly, unless this place improves their waiting staff game, i’d just avoid the restaurant.

Didn't see any of the service despite the reviews. Without failure one of the worst eating experiences I've had. Poor service didn't even come close ( chasing the staff for service after 45 minutes), I couldn't call what I had a thai curry (chilli flavoured soup with some of the toughest brocoli I've had the displeasure of tasting) and I am somewhat curious if that was haloumi in the halloumi fries. Hung there like limp plastic as the uncooked batter slid off onto the plate. I'll leave the others who shared the meal to comment but safe to say I haven't been to this pub in a while and I will not be going back again despite getting relatively local. Even to the point where the complaint was handled with a shrug and like it was the norm for each customer (one star for service seems generous). Given the significance of the evening I was ready to explain my disappointment but in the end was just keen to get out, go home and not spend any more for such a rubbish experience.

I’’m not one that usually leaves reviews but credit where it’s due. After what can only be described as a perfect weekend break in March, we then had to go back and stay again in April & are hoping to even do a third visit in May. Very rarely so you find a gem like this, it’s high standards, great staff, amazing food, beautiful rooms, are all boasted by its prime location in the heart of the stunning Beddgelert. We used this as a base for multiple climbs up snowden, with four great paths just a very short drive (or walk) away. Richard & the team made the stay a 5* experience and we will definitely look to stay here for many years to come.

Oh dear I don't know what happened this evening. We waited 50 minutes for food and had to chase. When the food arrived, we were starving. Had we not been so hungry and walked all day we would have sent it back. The ham and eggs were possibly the worst offender. The same corner shop ham I had in sandwiches earlier today not "carvery style" as mentioned on the menu. The eggs were overcooked also. The music was pretty awful. Not sure Barbie Girl gives off relaxed dining vibes. Really minimum effort on the veggie Thai curry which was served with cold rice. Nearly £60 for three meals and sadly not at all worth it.

Review for Monday lunch. This was easily the worst meal I’ve had at a restaurant in some time. My wife, son and I ordered two pints, a Pepsi, a packet of crisps, a Margherhita pizza, spicy chicken burger, rarebit and tomato soup. Literally every single item was clearly cheap frozen food that had been reheated in a microwave. The rarebit was the biggest offender, which was two slices of sandwich bread covered in a gloopy tinned/jarred rarebit sauce, with one corner partially covered in slightly melted grated cheese. Far and away the best food were the crisps as the restaurant had no hand in their preparation. I wasn’t expecting Michelin starred food. But I was expecting food that would have some measurable quality to it. This was literally just food from Iceland thrown on a plate. It’s a perfectly nice pub and a lovely spot for a pint. But if you are hungry, eat literally anywhere else. I’d rather have scrounged crumbs from the boot of my car.

An incredible family stay! The staff were unbelievably welcoming, When we arrived, we felt like we were coming home. We stayed as a family of five (2 adults and 3 children - ages 6, 3 and 6 months) and stayed in the two bedroom apartment. We were blown away by the scenery of the beautiful Beddgelert (picture of the view from our apartment included within this review). The room came equipped with everything we could possibly need in the kitchen (coffee machine, utensils, cups, plates). The TV had Netflix and other apps. The master bedroom also had a TV with the same. The second bedroom had a bunkbed with a double bed at the bottom. The children absolutely loved it in there. The baby slept in with us, but we were offered a cot free of charge. The room was equipped with toiletries, bed linen, dressing gowns and towels. We had breakfast and an evening meal, both of which were absolutely brilliant, the best food we’ve had for a long time. We were really taken care of within a restaurant that was dog friendly and extremely welcoming. We intend to come back to this hotel, time and time again. Our eldest child has actually insisted that we moved to Wales and live in the apartment we stayed in! I can’t thank everyone at Prince Llewelyn Enough for the incredible holiday that we have had as a family. It is truly one that we will never forget, and it is all thanks to you. 1 star is too much. Today I experienced the worst service I have experienced in any bar/restaurant. The front of house bar maid was very passive aggressive and rude. The chefs apparently weren’t there at 12 when lunch started and therefore could not be served. I suggest she changes her attitude to improve the overall business and that there are clear times set as to when breakfast and lunch start and end. Also stop blaming customers for mismanagement. The food was also substandard. Much better food and service nearby.

After trying to find a nice cafe to sit in from the rain and grab a bite to eat, we came across this pub and thought it looked very nice and christmassy. We entered the corridor soaked through, and was greeted by a member of staff. I felt that certain member of staff was quite cold towards us in the beginning. It was almost like she thought we were English and judged us straight away. She asked very bluntly "what tier" and "put your mask on" before even welcoming us properly. I then started speaking Welsh and she soon changed her tune. I find it very sad that it took me to speak the language to receive a bit of respect. The food was lovely and the cup of tea was very average and over priced (charged £2.50 for a pot and only received a cup). We also felt we were forced out of there as we had not asked for the bill, and it was brought to us as soon as we had finished our food. I understand times are difficult for all business, as I am part of one myself however, treating customers with disrespect will only cause an increase in loss of business. Lovely looking pub but unfortunately will probably not go again.**one lady was very lovely to us

Very friendly staff from the youngsters studying at Bangor and working at weekends to the Lady and lad working mid week, we couldnt fault the service or friendliness. We only ate one night which was steak pie, slightly over cooked but tasty. Very dog friendly. Would certainly recommend

Had the roast beef. Not bad at all. Yorkshire was not home made and neither was the cheesecake which was a bit disappointing. Wine was a bit warm. Beef was very nice and the servers were very attentive. The place is clearly taking the covid situation very seriously and we felt very secure. Lovely premises. Would definitely visit again.

Our usual stop in the village wasn't open so we tried the Prince Llewelyn for lunch. We will be going nowhere else from now on! We ordered coronation chicken rolls and they were the best we have ever had. Proper pieces of chicken, perfectly cooked with a lovely coronation sauce on amazing home cooked rolls. I am not a lover of salad but I even enjoyed that part of the dish! Not to mention the lovely cup of chips it was served with! We will be back!

Came here as a party of four for Sunday lunch. Can’t recommend enough. The food was lovely and the staff was very knowledgable about the area.

We were looking for somewhere to eat, and at this point had not made our mind up whether to have a coffee and a snack or lunch as it was 11:50. This was a beautiful day and we saw this restaurant which had an outdoor area with some shade and we were lucky to get the last table there. Obviously things are different due to the Covid situation, but they had done what needed to be done and it worked well. On the first occasion we went there the food was amazing and the staff were brilliant, friendly and we felt welcomed. As a result we went back a second time a few days later, got the same seat, ordered, but unfortunately out of the three meals we ordered mine was not what I ordered. Having said that the meal was good, and yes I could have asked them to change it, but you know this would have taken time and anyway what the hell. Despite this we enjoyed both sessions there and would recommend the restaurant.

I accept that the pub stopped serving food at 7pm, but we were just told no food available and no reason why. All the hand pump beer was off and so the lager was not great and the wine was even worse. Also the pub wasn’t busy so it wasn’t pleasant to see that the table hadn’t been wiped down at all. Whilst there was a screen at the bar I would also like to see clean tables especially at this time.

The staff, service and presentation was very good as well as promptness of our order. However, I fell the entire pub is let down on the food.We ordered the Beef Burger and the Chicken & Ham pie. The beef burger was incredible juicy; and it was delicious! It had a burger sauce (for some reason; not listed on the menu). However, the chips weren’t great and really let it down. The pie was a serious disappointment; the pastry was like Jelly/Rubber. It wasn’t flaky and was as though it had been either defrosted or pre cooked and reheated.I really don’t know how I feel about this place and I think 3.5 stars would be fair.

This pub is spotlessly clean and pays exceptional attention to social distancing measures - we were very impressed. The beer is good and the staff were friendly and efficient. Very highly recommended.

This is a great pub, been there many a time after long hikes in the hills and to watch 6 Nations. Popped in for dinner the day after the village was flooded and were treated to an excellent meal. The Unicorn ale is a must!

Despite having been damaged in the floods a few days before the Prince Llewelyn was open for lunches on the day we went. We had to wait in the porch until a table was free but we were shown to a table and explained that they do not sell hot drinks. There was a limited menu but the staff were friendly and our portion sizes were good. The beer was kept well and served with a smile. The staff even moved us to a bigger table when one became available. A lovely lunch in a friendly pub.

Arriving after a long extremely rainy walk, completely wet through, we were welcomed at the Prince Llewelyn hotel and given a table. We were told what was off the menu and that there were no hot drinks. Initially, I thought this meant the coffee machine was not working. Given how wet and cold we were, I asked the proprietor if she would mind if I popped over the road to get a couple of hot drinks to bring in while we waited for our food. She said she did mind very much and if I wanted a coffee I could go over the road and consume it there (in the rain). She explained they had been closed for over 5 months and they were trying hard to get going again (post lockdown). By then I realised that it wasn’t a broken coffee machine but they just don’t sell hot drinks. I explained that some of us did not want cold drinks in the circumstances. Not selling hot drinks is a shame. It is a high margin item and gives customers a wider choice. A kettle is all that is required for tea, coffee and hot chocolate. After I sat down and explained to my family, the proprietor came up and explained it again. I understood her position the first time, so I did not need it saying twice. By coming over and repeating it made us feel most unwelcome. At this point we decided to leave. The menu looked nice and good quality, albeit a bit limited. Interestingly two other families left before ordering anything. The lady was very polite when we left and wished us an enjoyable holiday. How strange that she clearly did not want our custom. We went to the Saracen’s Head and spent £150. They were so friendly. Polar opposites in fact. I have no doubt that the proprietor will respond in a defensive manner to this review, reading what has gone before. I have worked in retail for many years and learned it is so easy to be polite, courteous and give great service. It pays huge dividends in sales, repeat business and reputation. It takes no effort and makes you feel good. It takes a lot of effort to be rude and unwelcoming, makes you feel angry inside and business and reputation is lost. All for the sake of a few quid on a couple of coffees!

I very rarely write a review but I was left a bit shocked after my partner, myself and our young child was shouted at ‘to wait outside’ By the barmaid for entering the pub restaurant. These are covid times so I was trying to show some understanding. However the restaurant backs onto a busy road, there wasnt a clear sign on the closed front door to check the bar queue before entering so I felt very uncomfortable when my young family experienced a raised voice and harsh tone, especially as the waitress (who was very polite and well mannered) got the table ready for us. The barmaid was amenable after I explained this but I and other customers were very embarrassed to witness this and it seemed unnecessary. As a health director with a fair amount of experience in covid I suggest a clear sign on the front door asking customers to look through the window and count ‘x’ amount of customers before entering- this won’t help the likelihood customers are then waiting on an open road outside though, esp if you have young children this is quite dangerous. Maybe loose one outdoor seating where a queue can be formed. All this said it is a v beautiful building, maybe I caught the barmaid on a ‘bad day’.

Popped in for a quick meal post Christmas Shopping. Hadn't had Scampi for a while so gave it a go. 6 bits! Tasty but poor value. Frozen thick cut chips too :( Won't hurry back.

Surprisingly great food despite limited range. This was literally the only place open on a winter Wednesday so we stumbled in after a a couple of hours’ walking. Although a limited menu we were pleasantly surprised! The coronation chicken had a massive kick to it - it takes a lot for me to taste spice and they satisfied it! So yummy and a great baguette and chips with it!

We stayed in Beddgelert for three days and found the Prince Llewelyn pub to be our favorite place for dinner and drinks. Staff were just delightful, informative and helpful. Especially our server (who's name I am ashamed to say I can't recall) with whom we had so much good conversation and laughter. Tall guy behind the bar was from the US, very personable and took care of our food order on the second night. First night we tried the chicken curry, rice, poppadom and chips. Man, oh man, I love hot curry, and I met my match in this one. Wonderfully flavored, it was very hot, on the verge of being too much. Still, with a few sips of Unicorn ale, I managed to finish the dish and did enjoy it. We also tried the falafel, humus salad wrap. Wonderfully put together and delicious. If you can believe this, during the second day of our stay, we hiked around Lake Llyn Dwyarchen up near Rhyd Ddu and on the way back around the lake on a little road, who comes along in her car and recognizes us, but the gal we had so much fun with the previous night at Prince Llwewlyn. Second night's dinner was the mixed falafel and crispy chicken wrap as well as the shrimp and chips. All well prepared and served with a smile. Get there early each evening if you want dinner. Wonderful location in the old stone buildings along the A4085 road, near the intersection and stone bridge over the Afon Colwyn river.

We nipped down to Beddgelert for the day. Absolutely beautiful place. Having read through a few reviews we were torn between here and another pub locally to get some Sunday grub. Very glad we decided to come here. Small pub with big atmosphere and excellent food. Sat by an open log fire on what was a pretty wet day. Good range of beers on as well which was a surprise to see.

Had a great few nights here where we was welcomed and joined the local quiz night. Food was good and beer flowing no line up the road at the goat. Made new friends mostly dogs which are more than welcoming with a great atmosphere after everyone’s days adventures. See you soon.

Tried to eat at this pub twice during our stay in Beddgelert. The first night we rang to book a table for half 7 and was told they didn't take bookings and hope for the best. Arrived at 6.45 to be told they only serve roasts on Sunday and had stopped serving food. Looking at other reviews this has happened before so a heads up when we rang would have been helpful and we could have arrived earlier. Tried again the next night and yet again, no food being served. If planning a visit, don't hold out hope if you're hungry.

Myself and my partner visited this pub after a trek up Snowdon on the Saturday of the August bank holiday weekend. We had driven past it the day before and thought it looked very cute and right up our street. 2 shandy’s and a packet of crisps with a view of the river out the front, you can’t go wrong. Next time we will try the food too.

There is times of the day where there's no alternative for having a coffee in town. We went here twice during our visit of Caernarfon. I did not take a coffee at the second visit as I didn't like it. It is less clean inside and everything seems a little loveless. The sweet cakes etc. are great though. At least, the products are rather inexpensive.

We made the mistake of going back to this pub having visited several times over the years, it was completely dead and the bar lady had a serious attitude problem, when two other guests arrived the bar woman was now siting in the corner and i pointed her out simple saying the bar woman was over there - she completely turned on me obviously annoyed i’d called her a bar woman ( she clearly wasn’t a solicitor) which also resulted in her partner becoming extremely aggressive and was expecting a physical assault to be taking place, luckily i managed to de escalate the situation which if full of locals would’ve only been worse. The woman clearly has mental health problems and probably a drug user and shouldn’t be working in an environment selling alcohol.

Alana is a scam artist. Sends damaged squashed and disgusting cakes and then refuses to refund, would not order again from these people

We were looking for somewhere downtown harlech for a drink and food with our two boys, 9 and 14 years of age. We read the sign outside. Everyone welcome except for children. Dogs especially welcome. Adults only. A few of the local guys told me it's a swingers hotel where the dogs can get involved. Avoid. If you do want a good pint with holiday makers and locals all enjoying good food and drink and friendly conversation I would highly recommend walking an extra 200yds to the pub right next to the train station. Dogs, kids, humans all seem to be equally welcome

We popped in without a booking but were happy to have our meal in the bar area. The service was good, prices reasonable and we both had the fish and chips which was excellent. We were staying nearby and would definitely return if we are in the area again.A beautiful location next to the sea.
