Primrose Golden Fish And Chips in South Tyneside

Absolutely terrible quality fish and chips. All stale sharp scramptions and hardly any fish in the batter! Never going back there again. Waste of money, I'm still hungry because it was just inedible. We have gave this chippy so many chances but it's always a let down so that's it for us.

Chips was yum! The pizza was delicious, arrived on time and hot , the pizza box special is cracking value for money ill definitely be ordering again thankyou 😊

Have used this chip shop for many years, staff always pleasant when you go in or get deliveries , food always top notch and never late when delivered

Absolutely cacky , heather trotter wouldn’t even eat it. She wouldn’t even feed it to a homeless cat….SACK THE PIZZA CHEF!

Despite the driver apologising for not being able to find our address the order was stone cold. Not a good start but after reheating our supposed toppings for the pizza we’re ham, mushrooms, peppers. Pepperoni, garlic and chilli, the pizza only tasted of ham and chilli, with one piece of pepperoni. We speak as we find, giving praise when due but takeaways are now becoming less affordable as restaurants or takeaways increase their prices and some of the delivery costs are now getting silly, this means for us the takeaways we choose should ensure to send out the items requested, hot and on time….. is that too much too ask?

A primrose special 12” pizza, chips and chilli sauce. Before, the takeaway hadn’t deserved 5 stars in our opinion, but tonight was spot on. Hot, on time, ready to eat and really tasty. We’d been given a discount valid until 24th December due to regular use I believe, but whereas this was great it doesn’t influence this review.

Whereas the Pepperoni Deluxe and Primrose Special pizzas were lovely, the late delivery and the Oreo cookie dough spoilt the treat. Our granddaughter found the cookie, greasy and sickly. Shame….

Not sure if the fact we ordered close to a 9pm deadline but the quantity of chips and kebab meat (even including tough end bits) was very disappointing. Arrived ok, needed warming up, and spicy pizza was nice, base lovely and soft. Overall though, wasn’t their best!

We wanted a pizza mainly but saw a pizza box on one of the 25% off delivery sites. With the 12 inch pizza came chips which were ok, kebab meat and chilli sauce. Delivered on time and hot despite coming from a different town. The pizza had chilli, pepperoni and ham and was lovely and tasty as was the kebab meat. Great value and some left over for the next nights supper.

I found the service impeccable. Food lovely great wine and food. I could not fault anything about this place. Free pizza because of my customer service. My daughter also loves this place. Would highly recommend

Ordered a bbq chicken pizza wrap and had the options of it coming with chips and a sauce. Now normal people would assume thays sauce on your chips but not these they think its normal to hot chips and gravy on your bbq pizza wrap. Now im a firm believer in people making mistakes but when u call to say you can't eat the food you have PAID for and all u get off the angry little woman on phone is well tjats what we do some people get mushy peas yana. Keep your rank attitude and rotten food ill be sure to make everyone aware of you. Rather eat from middle fields

Worst fish and chips ever!! All £6. 85 of it i really dont think it was fit for human consumption how can u get chips so wrong disgusting cold and carboard texture DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!

I've recently moved to the area, so have been twice to this fish shop. I found the food lovely, the staff friendly and would certainly recommend.

I’ve visited here numerous times, every time I cringe at the poor hand hygiene. However a while ago I visited and ordered a chip butty. I questioned (I presume it’s the owner) a mark that was on the bread bun only to be told it’s “just chicken tikka”. I had to demand a fresh new bun which he handled with his unwashed bare hands, the bread was basically contaminated. Also the portions are stingey. I’d rather trek elsewhere.

The food can sometimes be horrible and sometimes really nice. The burgers are never nice but the rest of the food can be nice at times

This chip shop is 100 yds from me but I travel 3 miles to another chip shop as I find primrose chips to soft, reheated/fried sausages and fish. Curry sauce isn't very nice it has lots of lumpy bits In.

Lovely chippie many choices for eats from fish and chips to pizza and kebab and many more choices curry sauce chicken fish fillet and you can either go in and collect or get your meal delivered

We love this fish and chip shop. The service is excellent. You place your order and then wait for the food to be freshly cooked. Rarely do the counter staff forget an order, even when the shop is full

Been going to chip shop for years but no more , recently been for pizza fish and chips the pizza had too much cheese on and the base was still raw the fish looked like had been flattened out and batter just fell off it and the worst were the handfull of chips i got they were dark brown over cooked they all had black bits some were green and all too small ended up throwing them away used to be good once they were more concerned about getting there delivery orders done should be renamed primrose brown and green chip shop , avoid at all costs and go to boldon chip shop instead.

Always a good selection of food cooked to order. Recently busy doing deliveries but collection in person is also available without long waiting times. Efficient staff and good prices. Kebabs and pizzas just perfect.

Lovely fish. Huge portions of chips. Corned beef patties and fish cakes are great. Other favourites like curry sauce and kebab meat!! What's not to love!

Fish and chips to die for even the small fish and chip portion is excellent it is more than enough, fish cooked well no soggy batter, smart tidy takeaway won't go anywhere else

just been to this fish shop never again. ordered 2 portions of chips, when they wrapped them, we queried why only 1 packet wrapped to be told their was 2,paid 3-50 for the privilege, then when we arrived home we found exactly 1 packet of chips, which were luke warm and tasted of grease, so most of them were left, never will I shop at this shop again, will go to pauls in hebburn.

Easily best fish and chips in Jarrow. Always fresh and perfectly cooked, the portions are always large. Well worth a try, the only place I go to now.

Found a decent chippie at last !! And we wont be ordering from anywhere else in future , keep up the good work guys.

Always fresh and delicious wouldn't go anywhere else for fish n chips. Massive portions never tried kebabs but these look monstrous in a naan bread

1st time we have ordered from here and really fancied a chippy tea . It was delivered within 15 mins and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Definately recommend :-).
