wow! what an amazing tea room. Been for a walk.in the morning and was feeling peckish and came across Primrose Cottage. Had the opportunity to taste their amazing home made scones and a good brew. We went back the following day and had breakfast. Great cornish breakfast and decent coffee. Always a plus. We actually stayed a week in Tintagel and walked pass Primrose Tea Rooms a couple of times.. always cakes in the window tempting is to go back in..which we did . Everything is homemade and Karen is very passionate about her food . We went in a couple of times during the week so we got chatting to Mark whilst Karen is busy creating her delightful cakes etc and making lunches in the kitchen. Great hosts and felt welcomed every time. Can definitely recommend. Looking forward to going back .

A quaint and small coffee shop with a friendly and welcoming proprietor who loves to crack a gag. The English breakfast was very good, the latte was great and the hot chocolate was especially superb.

We came here whilst on a visit to Tintagel and stopped for sn early lunch. We had the most delicious baguettes with fresh ingredients & a perfect pot of tea. Very friendly service - wouldn't hesitate to recommend!

Lovely ! Lovely food lovely people ! Very accommodating for all 7 of us and all 5 of our dogs . I would highly recommended to Anyone .

5 stars working their socks off and still managing to put out good quality. We went on a very busy lunchtime and they were clearly under some pressure but they fitted us in served good fresh food and checked we were happy. Other customers seemed equally impressed. All one could expect. Thank you

Enjoyed a lovely couple of cream teas and a baguette today after a long walk around Tintagel Castle. Timed it perfectly as the fruit scones were all warm from the oven!

This little Gem 💎 we found in tintagle has THE best fry up! Also amazing brownies and scones! The staff are so friendly and the service was spot on! Ideal place to go to either start your day ready for all the walking and site seeing around this amazing place, or tea and cake/scones for a little rest.

Our second year staying at Primrose Cottage. What a treat staying there. Freshly baked cakes and scones , fantastic cornish breakfasts. Coffee is amazing, never drank so much. On the day we arrived we had a light lunch. I had home made mackerel pate and bread. It was absolutely delish and my friend ordered the quiche. The best she had ever tasted. Karen and Mark are the perfect hosts. Everything is spotless and they could never do enough. Would highly recommend, excellent 👌

Me and my partner stop here for lunch before we went to the castle and had the best food. We had hot toasties and fish finger sandwiches, My partner couldnt get over how good the sandwich was. We then followed it with afternoon tea which was amazing. The scones were freshly cooked and the tea was endless it was a great experience. We would highly recommend.

Used the cafe numerous times in the week we stayed in tintagel. Had breakfast 4 times and also had cakes as well. The owner is such a lovely guy always giving our dogs treats. Cant recommend this cafe highly enough. Even probably saying had one of the best ever breakfasts I have had.

Charming place and if the cakes in the window don’t make you go in, i don’t know what will. Welcoming staff who were accommodating. Picked up some lovely slices of cake and 2 very tasty breakfast sandwiches as we left the village and i must say this made for a lovely drive back home.

Really lovely tea room. Sat outside and enjoyed delicious tea and homemade cake. Friendly service. I can recommend the coffee and the lemon cake.

We visited today for a light snack and drink. It was quiet which was nice. The outside seating was a great mix of in the sun and in the shade. We ordered two bottles of water, two teas, cheese chips and a piece of cake which totalled around £15 which we didn’t mind given it was all really nice. The cake was really nice and seemed fresh. The cheese chips was considered a side dish, there was plenty there! There was no rushing with the table service either. The only slight criticism would be to the man that served us, he was wearing camouflage clothing and perhaps not what you would expect from someone in this sector. He was nice enough but his customer service could be improved - it seemed like he perhaps was related to the owner so maybe he’s not normally there??

Went here for breakfast whilst on holiday. The food was freshly cooked and very good. Service was good. The cakes looked delicious.

We visited the castle in the morning and wanted to stop somewhere for lunch, so glad we stumbled upon this place as it was just so lovely. Great choices on the menu and child friendly too!

Best breakfast so far . A must try the hog . Delicious stuffing to Accompany the cooked breakfast. Small internal so good to reserve an internal table as weather typically English 

Spent a week in Tintagel but whilst the views and walks are stunning, the town itself is definitely not a gastronomic centre of excellence. Having had distinctly average meals all week, we pinned our hopes on a cooked breakfast before we journeyed home. Primrose Cottage...

Excellent service followed by superb food. We visit Tintagel occasionally for the day and it was our first visit to this cafe, but certainly not our last. Baguettes and cakes was among the best we have ever had.

This Cafe is a wonderful part of our community . Yesterday they did a Sunday lunch for locals to collect . It was a triumph ....Roast beef with all the trimmings beautifully cooked and presented .Delicious gravy too .A lovely dessert of Karen’s famous Cheesecake...

Wonderful, welcoming, friendly little tea room, and it felt very, very safe! The tables and chairs were cleansed before we sat down, and the gentleman wore a mask all the time he was in the room. The homemade cake (cooked by his wife) was deelicious...

My husband and I had a cream tea here just before visiting the castle and it was absolutely beautiful! The man who served us was lovely, so polite and welcoming. We sat outside and it was very pleasant, beautiful coffee too. Would highly recommend.

Lovely little place, well organised for current times with lots of home made food. Had a delicious leek quiche and salad for lunch and found it very hard to resist the delicious looking cakes on display!

We came here for breakfast on our last morning and wished we had found this place earlier in our stay,lovely welcome from the owner, really good quality ingredients , the sausages in particular, and nice to have proper butter served with the toast.Will definitely come back on our next visit

Lovely cafe and very enjoyable hot chocolate and cakes. Was very disappointed to learn you couldn't use the loo though. Had to pay 50p to use the public toilets down the road. This would unfortunately put me off retuning here.

visited by chance as there was an empty table outside and hubby and I had tea and scones. I make a mean scone but these truly were delicious. Excellent covid measures in place too. (Sorry its taken 2 weeks to post )

Excellent quality food and the scones were so light and fluffy. Pleasant staff and excellent Covid precautions. Asked not to sit at a table until it had been wiped down after previous customers. Felt very safe and will definitely use again

I’ve been following this cafe on Facebook for a while hoping I could get in when I visited Tintagel. Got lucky. Ordered the ham and cheese ploughman’s and cider. Beautifully presented. Warm crusty bread and lots of nibbles to compliment the ham and cheese. Best chutney I have ever had - the perfect combo of sweet, sour, salt. Made in house! COVID-19 precautions in place. Perfect little spot.

Had to wait a short while for a table to become free but well worth the 10min wait at peak time.Reassuring to see the covid measures being taken including wiping down of each table, chairs and menus between uses.The baguettes are amazing, incredibly tasty. Highly recommend the cheese and chutney followed up by a delicious fruit scone. Very friendly staff, highly recommend.

What a great little tea room. We visited yesterday with our two dogs and were welcomed by the owner. So friendly and attentive to both us and the dogs. The Cream tea was one of the best we’ve had, and we’ve had a few . The cake selection is great and they taste amazing, the coffee also. Please ignore the one negative review.. he must’ve missed out on his trip to Benidorm or his Sun newspaper 99p holiday! Support this local tea room and ignore the commercial ones closer to the castle.

When in need of a breakfast/brunch, this is your place in Tintagel. Excellent value for the veggie breakfast, and the full cornish too. All components were fresh tasting & cooked to perfection. Coffees were great, and the waiter ensured we had everything we needed. Would certainly recommend for a pitstop in Tintagel!

We stopped here for cream teas (grown ups) and cake and milkshakes (children). Warm welcome, gorgeous baking, huge cake portions and proper old fashioned milkshakes, and served on lovely vintage china. Highly recommend!

By the Tourist Info Centre, this lovely cafe does a super breakfast and yummy cake. Attentive service (even to the dog) worth a visit

We popped in here to pick up a selection of cakes to take to a friend’s house a few days ago. The cakes were all homemade and so delicious. We have coffee cake, carrot cake and biscoff brownies! All delicious! Definitely recommend a visit here!

Stopped here a couple of times during our visit and even with COVID restrictions, we were accommodated. Reduced seating available inside, but outside seating is the same as usual. Nice small cafe that serves the best Millionaires cake that I have ever had, no joke... Will be going back on our next trip...

Stopped for coffee, sat in their little garden with our dog. Decided to stay and have lunch, we both opted for the homemade mackerel pate, it was served with thick toast and a small salad and was delicious. Later we came back for a cream tea, home baked scones, jam and plenty of clotted cream. Delicious. We would recommend it to anyone.

Had a lovely pit stop at Primrose Cottage Cafe. Excellent, friendly service and truly beautiful cakes! We had a lovely cream tea - with LOTS of tea and the boys enjoyed delicious homemade flapjacks. Would highly recommend a visit!

We stopped here for cream tea and Cornish breakfasts mid morning. Staff attentive, safe, wearing masks and making us feel comfortable to dine. Fair prices, lively surroundings, small, simple and great tasting food. Would recommend!

Visited today, owners were very hospitable, plenty of space to sit outside. The cakes were nice with a nice pot of tea. A hidden gem.

Called in for lunch at last minute, having been tempted by homemade cakes in window. Cafe is at far end of Tintagel from castle but not far: don’t miss it!!! Great food and service; suitable for older kids. I had cheese and chutney sandwich and hubby had ham and eggs. 12 year old had coronation chicken and 7 year old had cheese and bacon melt. All delicious, as was my tea served in vintage china. We ordered cakes to take out after: all homemade on premises. All gorgeous. Will revisit if we return to Tintagel. Only drawback is no customer loo, but public ones not far.

Called in for breakfast . Had the full English . Cooked to order , not too overfacing. Good quality sausage and bacon . Lovely large coffee with hot milk. Social distancing adhered to. The cakes looked lovely , we may well return to sample .

On a recent visit to Tintagel the family decided to have a cream tea experience.We chose this little cafe and was not disappointed.On arrival we were greeted by a very helpful and friendly owner who went out of his way to accommodate us.We ordered 4 cream teas and a sandwich for the granddaughter. After 10 minutes a lovely tray of goodies came to our table. Simply lovely.Well recommended if your near Tintagel.

Delicious cream tea! This is the third time we’ve visited this cafe and can honestly say it’s the best cream tea in the area. Dog friendly too!

Excellent! Stayed for a few nights, Karen and Mark were very welcoming hosts. Breakfast was always wonderful, cakes in the window always looked lush but I was too full to try one. (Biscoff Brownie looks to die for!!!!) B&B is very cute, clean and tidy with everything we needed. Couldn’t recommend enough. Lots to do in the area and Mark and Karen were great at giving us some recommendations locally! Thanks so much :-)

We visited here on July 7th, the social distancing was really well organised, service was excellent and the most amazing home baked Bakewell slice.

First time to Tintagel and Primrose cottage. Stayed for 6 nights b and b and have to say 10/10. Karen and Mark are very welcoming and accommodating. The accommodation is clean, homely and spacious...I was extremely impressed. Breakfast was out of this world as are the cakes and scones, baked fresh daily by Karen. Mark and Karen were knowledgeable about places to visit and I'll definitely be revisiting next year...just got to make sure I do early enough before it gets booked up! Thank you Karen and Mark for your fabulous hospitality.

Dropped in for lunch whilst wandering around Tintagel. It's a great find. The coffee was really good as was the food. Traditional (for the most part) British home-cooked favourites. I had reassuringly home-cooked ham, egg and chips. Why not? The owner also, Mark, is worthy of a mention who looked after both locals and "Emmetts" with equal courtesy.

Stayed at Primrose cottage this summer for the third year running and it’s such a wonderful place. The hosts are so accommodating and friendly. The food in the tea rooms is delicious as are the full Cornish! Everything’s fresh and homemade and the gorgeous quaint tea room is so cosy even more so on a rainy day which we had a few of! No doubt will be back for a 4th year next year! The best in Tintagel!! X

Had lunch here today with a couple friends....really lovely, pretty little place, the gentleman who served us was really friendly and the food delicious, we left full and happy.Thankyou.

We ate here twice; once for breakfast and the other at lunchtime. The veggie breakfast was full of fresh ingredients including free range eggs. Lunch was homemade quiche and salad, all great tasting fresh food, beautifully cooked. Tea is served in pretty vintage china. Friendly and welcoming service. Great little cafe!

Ein schnuckeliges kleines Café wie aus dem Bilderbuch. Die Besitzer sind unglaublich freundlich und sehr bemüht, dem Gast einen schönen Aufenthalt zu bieten. Wir haben dort sowohl Cornish Cream Tea als auch High Tea genossen und waren absolut begeistert. Wir hatten eine derart große Auswahl an an Leckereien nicht erwartet. Weiter so!

It is a really nice tea house with extraordinary kind people. We have been there twice in a week. First time for Cornish Cream Tea. After asking the Chief about High Tea he told us If we want we could order one day beforehand If we want to experience the "high tea". We did it and today wr enjoyed the traditional high tea at its best.Thanks a lot for the good time.

Popped in for an early lunch as we had had a very early start, and had delicious eggs on toast and tuna sandwich. Huge pot of lovely tea. Perfect. Lovely old charm and old fashioned china. Bit tight for space inside but not so cramped that we felt uncomfortable. Recommended.

After a week on holiday and finding it surprisingly hard to find decent, freshly prepared food, we were delighted to be welcomed onto a pleasant sun patio at this cafe to enjoy some delicious salads. Perfect.

For those of you who like myself have come to visit Tintagel and have seen all the sites ,and are now finding themselves peckish ! Yet not wanting fish & chips head down to The Primrose Cottage where you will undoubtedly find the best Cream tea’s around !! This little cafe is full of old world charm and sits comfortably next to the visitors centre which is a must visit venue if visiting Tintagel! It's just a lovely place to sit and enjoy the food, drink and company of lovely hosts.

We stopped by after visiting the castle. All the food was fresh and really lovely - there was a good variety in the menu. It was also nice to be able to sit outside off the main road.

Visited today and it is a cosy, friendly traditional tearoom with a good selection on the menu - would return!

Stopped here on a Sunday in August for a lunchtime snack. Our group had savoury cream tea, traditional cream tea and carrot and coriander soup. Everything was very nice tasting. We were served efficiently, the rooms are bright and airy, with indoor and outdoor seating.

Arrived for lunch with a tired, hungry toddler. Waiter served a sandwich to her within minutes. Lovely food with tea served in beautiful china cups. Reasonably priced. Pretty setting with a homely feel. Would highly recommend.

We arrrived at 8.30am, sat 26th July Lisa Dayand were the first customers of the day. We had two delicious full English breakfasts, poached eggs on toast, croissant and canola with fresh strawberries. Beautifully presented and nothing was too much trouble. So good we will stop for breakfast on our way back home!

We popped in for a quick coffee while we were waiting for our tent to dry after a few days camping, after our wonderful wedding. Beautiful coffee and we were a little gutted that we had already had breakfast, as the food looked good. It was nice to sit outside and relax first thing with a lovely drink, and to just people watch and take stock. If your passing through Tintagel, this little gem is worth a stop for.

Visited with the family for breakfast before setting off home after our holiday. The service was brilliant, great selection of teas (including Darjeeling ), food was beautifully and freshly cooked and prices were very reasonable. If this was my local, I'd definitely pay a visit on a regular basis. Thank you again for your excellent hospitality x

We visited here on a recent trip to Tintagel. Had a very nice lunch, vegetarian friendly. Coffee was nice too, though seemed a bit overpriced.

Mark and Karen are perfect hosts, very friendly and helpful, The bed and breakfast accommodation is fantastic, very spacious and like a separate annexe as it has a private living room and patio area, all the rooms are a very good size and very homely, comfortable and clean, with views over the lovely garden. Netflix, a large selection of dvds and a fridge were a great bonus. The breakfasts are delicious, made with good quality produce, The Gluten free breakfast was excellent as I was able to have GF cereals and a GF Cornish full breakfast, it was great to be able to have the same breakfast as my husband and they kept us full all day. It is at the end of the high street, just far enough away from the main tourists, but within a few minutes walk for the wide variety of gifts shops, visitor centre, pubs and restaurants, etc. Highly recommended. Always use Primrose cottage for breakfast and recently been staying too. It’s excellent. Very friendly and food is great. The self contained apartment at the rear is beautiful and spotlessly clean.

This Cafe actually runs a B & B, access from rear of property. You can have breakfast in your room or in the cafe. Food was fantastic and the service excellent. When he found out I'm gluten free he insisted on having a gluten free scone fresh out the oven. The apartment is very cosy and clean, our only comment would be the bed could do with replacing. The mattress has seen better days and you both roll into the middle all night.

Went to have a look at the menu displayed in the window and with its good variety of choice we decided to stop for lunch. Friendly service, the food was well presented and fantastic quality. Definitely worth a visit and will look forward to going again soon

This cafe has the most wonderfully home cooked and prepared food at a brilliant price. The owners are extremely friendly and very accommodating. Portions are of good quantity but even if you were full you would struggle to not try some of the delicious cakes available and the best bakewell I have ever had! Was a fantastic start to our day of exploring Tintagel.

Well worth a visit - it would be easy to walk past thinking I wonder what else is around but would be a big mistake. The food was fantastic freshly made with local produce and the cakes are all homemade. I cannot recommend the Bakewell tart enough.

We stopped at this pretty cafe for breakfast. Delicious locally sourced food, beautifully cooked and presented. Very friendly service. We came again the next day as we were so impressed. Our dog loved the sausages! A really lovely little courtyard with tables to sit outside. Tea served in China cups in the proper way. Really recommend this lovely cafe.

Stopped for a snack, all 4 of us had Cauliflower and Stilton soup. Absolutely wonderful. Very friendly staff. Recommended.

Just as you would expect from an old cottage cafe, it is small and compact. The owners are very pleasant and made us welcome even though we were dripping wet. (Dogs are also welcome) The breakfast menu was wholesome and all five of our orders came at the same time- and hot! The only downside was there was a limited choice of teas- no peppermint or decaf teas and also there is no toilet at this cafe which could be difficult if you have toddlers.

Had to be in Tintagel for an early medical appointment, and, with 3/4 hour till my bus, dived into this cafe next to the bus stop and had a Full Cornish Breakfast and a pot of tea. Proper job for about £7.00. The breakfast was all freshly cooked, and the egg was just right, which is where the art comes in. Two sausages, two pieces of bacon, a big slice of fried potato, mushrooms, baked beans, a large piece of tomato, and a roundy shaped thing that must be the Cornish bit. Decent bread used for the toast and butter. This cafe is clean and quaint, with a teashoppy vibe to suit the coffee and cake trade, but the breakfast is a proper meal that could set up a workman or a hiker for the day.

Really lovely place for a spot of cream tea. The best scones I have ever tasted and the tea served in the cutest china cups. Overall best place food was relish and service was fantastic.

We had lunch on a cold Sunday afternoon at this gorgeous cafe in a cottage next to the Visitor Centre in Tintagel. We loved our Cornish Ploughman's lunch, thought that the Chicken Caesar Salad was ok and loved the homemade coffee cake and pot of tea. (There were lots of other homemade goodies to choose from and we would have loved to try more things!) Mark (the owner) is a great host and we thought it was very reasonably priced.

We sat outside as the outside area is protected from the wind. The coffee was very nice and the staff were very friendly. You can also buy fresh made bread here.

We had sausage and mash, and the Caesar salad, which were both fantastic, as were the cakes for dessert! A real gem and recommended to us by a lovely local lady!

Small tea room/cafe with surprisingly comprehensive menu all freshly prepared. We had the crab sandwich and fish finger sandwich which were both excellent on lovely fresh bread. Nice big pot of tea in china cups. It’s at the top of the high street so gets a bit less footfall than at the castle end of the town but worth a walk.

Me and my sister stayed here for one night and would highly recommend! Lovely owners, made us feel very welcome. We had our own mini house, bedroom, bathroom and living room all to ourselves. Lovely fry up breakfast in the morning too!

Called here last week with the family. We had a lovely cream tea, and the homemade cakes were a sight to behold. The Victoria sandwich was delicious. I think it was probably that which made me forget our carrier bag with presents for the family. We rang the proprietor James, and he has kindly posted the items for us and these were received today. We really recommend this cafe.
