Primo Piatto in Epping Forest

Both the pasta and pizza here were great, good variety on offer across the menu. Service here was top tier, 3 different waiters served us and were all authentic and genuinely kind. Gave us the extra dessert when they accidentally brought out 2 on the house which is always a nice touch. Look forward to visiting again some time.

First time last night and we will be back. What a gorgeous interior, staff all so welcoming and friendly and the food was delicious!! Our waitress Elenor was so attentive and lovely. We can’t wait to come back, the scallops were the best I’ve eaten!

Sadly very disappointed with our meal. We went on a quiet Sunday and chose pizza, pasta & a lasagna. The pizza & pasta were OK, but the lasagna was dreadful. Tiny portion (waitress needs training in ‘upselling’ as it comes with nothing!!), overcooked & tasteless. As it arrived with no garnish I asked for a salad which arrived in an oversized bowl - no dressing, just a bottle of olive oil! The waitress was friendly but talked far too much! Randomly we had a different waitress just to clear the 1 dessert we ordered and she told us off for not eating the grapes. Overall a bizarre and underwhelming experience. Unlikely to return.

Came here before Christmas with friends. We had never been before but will certainly be returning. The food was lovely and very reasonably priced. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and the staff are very attentive, friendly and funny.

I have been twice in the past six months to this restaurant and on both occasions I have been underwhelmed by the actual food and service. They are not contactable by email even though there is an email address and I am beginning to wonder why. The restaurant is very lovely and I made a couple of comments about them and posted the letter through the door. I am still waiting for an acknowledgment for that one. The second one was embarrassing as we had guests. Soup was not on the menu I asked if they had any and they replied they had tomato soup. I foolishly didn't ask the price and it was served in a great big dish with a small centre and two pieces of hard bread half in it. My wife opted for a vegetable lasagne and that came up with what we thought was a child's portion. The soup was £9.95!! and the lasagne about £15.00. When the I was about to pay the bill I said to the waiter that certain things were a bit over the top and his reply was don't tell me tell the boss I only work here! I paid and left and sent another letter this time my wife delivered it by hand to the staff about five weeks ago and I am still waiting for an acknowledgement!! Is this the way to conduct a business. Never mind I suppose as long as the customers keep coming why should I get the courtesy of a reply. Will not be going there again.

Really enjoyed everything about our visit today. The atmosphere, beautiful warm and inviting just like the staff. Food, amazing! It was our first time visiting and I am glad ot was good as it is only 10mins from home. We most certainly will be back.

1.Tacky interior deign with plastic flowers.- 2.Waitress needs to be told to bring right cutlery - 3.Scallops are over cooked chewy not seared .- 4.Pepercorn sauce is some left over sauce from the sink.- 5.Deserts. Tiramisu watery mess.-.Apple tart cheap and nasty. 6.Two family members barely made it home had a diarrhoea straight after meal .- 7.Whats not to like ...very good place.

The staff in here are so nice, great service and also very quick. The food was also lovely too! Definitely coming back!!

Our company held it's Christmas meal here on Saturday. It was unfortunate that communication between the kitchen, waiting staff and guests was so 'spotty'. Food was late and was very uneven in delivery. Desserts didn't turn up, they had to be requested and then told they had run out. Bit of a poor show when all our meals had been ordered at least 2 weeks beforehand. The waiting staff were pleasant but did not communicate well with the guests in our party regarding shortages and what they could do to remedy the situation.

This was first dining experience at Primo Piatto. Upon entering Enzo was very welcoming and very accommodating. For my starters l had Frittura Mista Di Pesce My main was Linguine Frutti Di Mare. Both dishes were Fabulous!! Even took home a doggy bag (so much food) 😂 oh yes l had a Porn Star Cocktail 🍸 The decor including the Christmas Tree 🌲 …Beautiful.And as for the music … One word FANTASTIC👍🏾. Thank you Enzo, and rest of Primo Piatto team …. I will we will be back in January to celebrate my 60th Birthday Caroline 🥰🥰

Music too loud! Food presentation awful, ordered sauté potato’s, received old boiled doused in a gravy, vegetables grey.. waitress cleared main course plates, came back 5 mins later and asked if we have received our mains yet… I should have taken photos and should have complained there and then. Mutton dressed as lamb restaurant!

I love the food. Great service and nice background music. It is one of my favourite restaurants. Lunch menu price extremely reasonable, generous and tasty. I highly recommend it.

The food was so delicious and good portions which reflect in the price. The service was also great, very attentive, the owner even came over to speak to us and get feedback. It's decorated really nicely too and I would highly recommend to anyone!

Lovely decor lovely staff but I’m afraid to report the food was awful. Firstly I had the mozzarella and tomato and basil starter , the cheese had a twang of fridge odour. The garlic cheese bread was delicious though . The main I chose was spaghetti bolognaise and although the menu showed tagliatelle bolognese the lovely staff said I could have it with spaghetti if I preferred. It was awful , the bolognese had grisel in the meat and it honestly tasted more like lamb, or something else but not beef . It had a ‘farm’ horrible fatty taste and smell and I really didn’t enjoy it all . Finally we ordered profiteroles and again they had a fridge twang odour . I couldn’t eat them . Such a shame . I also had an upset stomach the day after . I think you’ll be ok if you stick to the pizzas. We also found it quite expensive , two starters , two mains , no alcohol , 2 small bottles of water, one dessert and a floater coffee came to just over £80

Went her sst 19th Oct my nephews wedding they were so understanding of my husband who had a severe strokevback in Feb leaving him speech and mobility problems I explained to gentleman serving us husband eats with one hand therefore could they put smaller pasta on bolognese which they did I also asked if they could do a soup for me not on menu which again they did it was delicious as was the whole meal all the guests thought the same , The disabled facilities were excellent the staff helped my husband into restaurant in wheelchair ,unless you have gone through severe stroke and what it robs you its hard to understand the restaurant staff did understand ,I would recommend this excellent restaurant please visit you won't be disappointed I will return so will all the guests who attended well done Promo Piatto

Had a ruined birthday dinner. Went there on Friday evening, booked a table in advance, explained that we'll be 3 persons,( two adults and a child). On the phone I have told the one who answered, that it is my wife's birthday and kindly asked if they could arrange for us a birthday cake, or something with a candle and happy birthday song. Then I was told, no worries we'll arrange everything when you'll order the dessert. At the end, obviously they forgot about everything and as an answer to my question why didn't they do what were asked, they just asked me " who answered to my call?" And that where do they know who's birthday from 3 of us. Are you joking,????? The one who booked the table and wrote down my name, tho whom I have explained that it's my wife's birthday..... Had a ruined evening. Felt really disappointed. Food quality is average as for an Italian restaurant.

Went on a busy Saturday night on the off chance, they managed to find us a table. The staff were very friendly and the food was excellent. Recommend the tagliatelle bolognais!

Parking lot is a bit small but maybe that's normal for areas of London. The pizza was so good I ate the whole thing. Staff was very friendly

I visited Primo Piatto a few weeks ago with a group of 9 people for a birthday meal. Wow what a place so beautifully decorated as well as such tasty Italian food. Everyone was so impressed with the service and loved the food and cocktails. We had such a good time and will sure be back! Thank you

Incredible service, food atmosphere. It's like you're in a movie. Cant rate any higher. Fantastic. Owners there , staff friendly. We went tonight after a run with two young kids so had gym stuff on, no problem. Excellent 👍👍👍

I feel I've had no choice but to leave a review, the restaurant and future customers need to be aware that the Linguine Gamberoni gave my partner food poisoning. We chose to eat at the restaurant yesterday for an early dinner as we'd been once before and had a great experiance. The staff are lovely and the food had been good previously but after our visit yesterday my partner has been extremely unwell and still remains very sick. It is completely unacceptable and a shock to be served food that has gone off. It goes without saying that we will not be visiting in the future. I truly hope the kitchen think twice before serving food they believe to be "passable", it's damaging for your business and most importantly incredibly dangerous for customers. Shocking.

We went to this place for many years when it was called the Volunteer public house. We thought we would give it a try to see how the Italian restaurant was doing,and boy we were not disappointed in the decor,service and especially the food. I can say it was the Best Margarita pizza I gave ever tasted in all my 66 years,we shared a Tagliatelle Bolognese as we were getting full with the pizza and that was also delicious. We will be definitely going back to try more dishes on the menu

Had lunch at Primo Piatto with the family on Friday, and I have to say, it's one of the best places for pizza! The Diavola had the perfect kick, the Margherita was fresh and full of flavor, and the Primo Piatto pizza had that ideal crispy, golden crust. My whole family enjoyed every bite, and compliments to the chef for such fantastic food. We’ll definitely be coming back again!

I decided to give another try to this place.... big mistake. I was there Thursday night... same "food"....no flavour....not well presented and decorated.....The ugliest Calzone what we have in my life. Not coming back for sure. Shame....

People from Waltham Abbey.....stay away from this place. The owner have no minimum knowledge about food and drink business....no knowledge about preparation of food about the hospitality. I work there for 6 days....no payment for 75 hours...hard hours. For a small room on the top... shearing with another guy...he took 150 £ each... totally 300 £ per week.... maybe this is his business...to rob the workers. He don't deserve good people like you. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at Primo Piatto. The decor is very "instagrammable", with lovely flower and floral backdrops and ceilings. Seating is comfortable and ample, giving an intimate yet relaxed atmosphere. The service provided was as to be expected, neither exceptional nor mediocre, but just right. Not difficult to call staff over and get what was needed. All staff was happy to oblige, as for example they brought our drinks with ice when requested not to, they quickly swapped them. The food, which is probably the most important, was delicious. Very tasty pizza, lasagne and garlic bread. All made to a great standard and probably better than I had expected, with the pizza's crust thin and crunchy but not overly so, ingredients fresh and tasty, and just the right amount of flavour Lastly, the pricing is the reason for the drop of one star. £5.50 for a large soft drink and £3.50 for a bottle of still water to me, seemed expensive - although the food was relatively well priced - the location, price of starters and drinks, made it drop a star on the overall rating. Overall, I'd recommend this place for a nice meal with friends or family, or even a girlfriend or boyfriend, as it's nice for a date setting too.

Verry pretty spot, nice! And clean overall, wich is rare for an old pub, but this one is tranformed into such a delightful cozy place!

Have been here a few times over the past year. I would say most recently the best verdict I can give this restaurant is “OK”. Of course its disappointing to go for a meal and leave feeling so underwhelmed, and worst when you’re taking someone out. The quality of the food coming out of the kitchen is simply not up to scratch. Attention to detail with some of the wait staff is also not there, it’s probably inexperience as some seem quite young. It’s not a one off poor experience, and it’s not with the odd dish. I really hope they can improve, as we wont be returning for now.

Service was probably the worst I have ever encountered the young waiters were leaning across you to serve,and didn't know what they were serving and to who. Very poor and not cheap.

Always enjoyed my meals at this restaurant. However today I ordered the chicken salad. The chicken (tiny pieces) were dry. It contained one anchovy, the bowl was two thirds full of unappetising salad leaves, the croutons were too hard to eat. Very very poor. Although I mentioned the poor quality to the waiter no one seemed to bothered.

The food was “okay”, but there are several local Italian restaurants that offer a higher standard. The decor was lovely and definitely the best feature, but I wouldn't be in a hurry to return.

Ciao! This restaurant is real Italian foods and most dishes are completely homemade with real Italy! I’m really pleased this building has been saved and converted Italian restaurant after that previous was British pub with lovely British foods. I missed of the British gravy pie! The staff are very friendly and caring. We will coming here again! Hoping for after New Year with someone have special birthday! Ciao!

Wow! We popped in for an impromptu dinner this evening and were blown away! Not only by beautiful decor and lovely atmosphere but by the extremely helpful and friendly staff. The menu has something to offer for everyone’s tastes. We had burrata and asparagus salad to start which was perfect! My partner had the seafood risotto which was as beautiful to look at as it was to eat. I went for the gnocchi with mushrooms and Italian sausage which was fantastic! Everything was fresh, beautifully presented and tasted amazing. We will definitely return, soon.

Really good food with service to match. Luckily we went on a sunny day so sat outside. The only advice I would give is that the interior is so beautiful that it’s a shame that they haven’t extended the aesthetics to the outdoor seating but this really is just nitpicking because we had a great time and will definitely be back.

22nd June Fabulous meal.. really tasty food. Wonderful selection which made chosing difficult! All staff were delightful and engaging. Efficient service and great team work on a busy night. Can't wait to return

This was our first visit, so we'd prebooked, but on arrival, they didn't seem ready for us. Overall, the food was good - though one of our starters was incorrect even though the waiter had specfically asked us for our sauce preference and also reread the order back to us - we didn't return it as we had waited so long and they appeared busy. Also we asked the waiter what was in the mixed seafood pasta, to which he said"its on the menu" the menu just mixed seafood, the waiter had no clue what the dish consisted of, nor did he make any attempt to find out. The service was slow, and the wait in-between courses was far too long, we waited 20 mins for initial drinks, then another 30 minutes for starters and a further half an hour for our mains. Although the staff were attentive, it appeared insincere, like they were just ticking a box. We'd ordered alcoholic drinks but also asked for some water for the table, we asked for this numerous times to 3 different members of staff, but all requests were ignored. If the policy was not to service water, we'd have happily paid for a bottle, but no one communicated this to us . Note that other tables had been given free water and ice, to add insult to our embarsment, our receipt stated 4 glasses of water at no charge, when we brought this up with the waiter he just laughed it off. Also, when we asked for our bill, we were made to feel like an inconvenience. I don't think we will be returning here anytime soon. They just haven't mastered their service or timings, left feeling rather uncomfortable, which isn't worth my effort, time, or money.

Father’s Day! Great meal, great service. Very reasonable price considering the quality of the food. We had beef roast and our son had a children’s pizza ( more than enough to feed a five year old with a healthy appetite!) beef was nicely cooked, carrots had a tarragon finish, roast potatoes were lovely! Veg still had bite…. Good food cooked well! We’ll be back with friends soon!

On Tuesday this week, I visited Primo Piatto's in Waltham Abbey, for the first time, with my two friends, and we had the most amazing evening! From the moment we walked in we were blown away with the beautiful decor and the cool, modern, contemporary vibe! The service was outstanding - very warm, friendly, attentive and personal, and the food was absolutely delicious!! Everything looked and felt clean, modern and fresh (including the toilets) and I loved the fact that the restaurant had been designed so thoughtfully, to offer the choice of either, a vibrant social dining space, or a quieter, more intimate setting. The choice of background music and candles, plus pastel coloured flowers and fairy lights across the entire length of the ceiling, created a perfect ambiance throughout the night! It was so relaxing, it honestly felt like we were on holiday somewhere! It really was a wonderful experience, and the whole evening was rounded off with some complimentary shots, which was a very welcome gesture! I had such a lovely evening, I actually went back to Primo Piatto's the following night with my sister to try out another dish. She too was similarly impressed, and like me, will definitely be returning with her friends and family in the near future! Thank you Primo Piatto's for a truly wonderful dining experience! It's not often I bother putting a review online, as most places offer a like-for-like experience, but credit where credits due, you stood out, on both nights, for your high quality service and food, and I would highly recommend your restaurant in the future! Our second visit to this restaurant was as good as the first, excellent food friendly and efficient staff. A great atmosphere. It was not too busy, given it was Sunday lunch, I had expected it to be crowded. The menu had everything that we wanted and good value for the money.

I drive pass this place everyday and used to go here with my dad when he was alive and it was a pub so was sort of drawn in, and I'm glad I was was food was absolutely delicious and lunch time menu excellent value. Enzo was a great host and I will definitely be going back . Well done Enzo and I wish you all the best
