The look is very Instagram worthy and the cocktails were super nice! The food is good, with good portions. Customer service is great too!

Have been here a few times over the past year. I would say most recently the best verdict I can give this restaurant is “OK”. Of course its disappointing to go for a meal and leave feeling so underwhelmed, and worst when you’re taking someone out. The quality of the food coming out of the kitchen is simply not up to scratch. Attention to detail with some of the wait staff is also not there, it’s probably inexperience as some seem quite young. It’s not a one off poor experience, and it’s not with the odd dish. I really hope they can improve, as we wont be returning for now.

Fabulous place, gorgeous, delishious and tasty food with generous portions that were all beautifully presented. Smiling, friendly and efficient staff [not in your face or hovering]. Maybe not the cheapest but worth every single penny! I will most definitely be back very soon!👌😊

Service was probably the worst I have ever encountered the young waiters were leaning across you to serve,and didn't know what they were serving and to who. Very poor and not cheap.

Always enjoyed my meals at this restaurant. However today I ordered the chicken salad. The chicken (tiny pieces) were dry. It contained one anchovy, the bowl was two thirds full of unappetising salad leaves, the croutons were too hard to eat. Very very poor. Although I mentioned the poor quality to the waiter no one seemed to bothered.

The food was “okay”, but there are several local Italian restaurants that offer a higher standard. The decor was lovely and definitely the best feature, but I wouldn't be in a hurry to return.

The restaurant was beautiful, food was delicious but the only minus was the wait for the food, I understand that it’s because the food is actually fresh and well done. The only reason service is 5 stars is because of Stefano, the owner.

Ciao! This restaurant is real Italian foods and most dishes are completely homemade with real Italy! I’m really pleased this building has been saved and converted Italian restaurant after that previous was British pub with lovely British foods. I missed of the British gravy pie! The staff are very friendly and caring. We will coming here again! Hoping for after New Year with someone have special birthday! Ciao!

Lovely Italian right on my doorstep, why have I not been before now!! Went with my daughter, I had lasagne with cheesy garlic bread, Sangria and Lemon delicious for dessert all very yummy and will definitely return 😋

Simply fantastic, perfect food and impeccable staff too. If I want to eat a delicious pizza at reasonable prices this is the place. I will definitely drive two and a half hours for a good pizza. Excellent cleanliness both inside and outside the restaurant... Highly recommended

Wow! We popped in for an impromptu dinner this evening and were blown away! Not only by beautiful decor and lovely atmosphere but by the extremely helpful and friendly staff. The menu has something to offer for everyone’s tastes. We had burrata and asparagus salad to start which was perfect! My partner had the seafood risotto which was as beautiful to look at as it was to eat. I went for the gnocchi with mushrooms and Italian sausage which was fantastic! Everything was fresh, beautifully presented and tasted amazing. We will definitely return, soon.

Really good food with service to match. Luckily we went on a sunny day so sat outside. The only advice I would give is that the interior is so beautiful that it’s a shame that they haven’t extended the aesthetics to the outdoor seating but this really is just nitpicking because we had a great time and will definitely be back.

22nd June Fabulous meal.. really tasty food. Wonderful selection which made chosing difficult! All staff were delightful and engaging. Efficient service and great team work on a busy night. Can't wait to return

This was our first visit, so we'd prebooked, but on arrival, they didn't seem ready for us. Overall, the food was good - though one of our starters was incorrect even though the waiter had specfically asked us for our sauce preference and also reread the order back to us - we didn't return it as we had waited so long and they appeared busy. Also we asked the waiter what was in the mixed seafood pasta, to which he said"its on the menu" the menu just mixed seafood, the waiter had no clue what the dish consisted of, nor did he make any attempt to find out. The service was slow, and the wait in-between courses was far too long, we waited 20 mins for initial drinks, then another 30 minutes for starters and a further half an hour for our mains. Although the staff were attentive, it appeared insincere, like they were just ticking a box. We'd ordered alcoholic drinks but also asked for some water for the table, we asked for this numerous times to 3 different members of staff, but all requests were ignored. If the policy was not to service water, we'd have happily paid for a bottle, but no one communicated this to us . Note that other tables had been given free water and ice, to add insult to our embarsment, our receipt stated 4 glasses of water at no charge, when we brought this up with the waiter he just laughed it off. Also, when we asked for our bill, we were made to feel like an inconvenience. I don't think we will be returning here anytime soon. They just haven't mastered their service or timings, left feeling rather uncomfortable, which isn't worth my effort, time, or money.

Father’s Day! Great meal, great service. Very reasonable price considering the quality of the food. We had beef roast and our son had a children’s pizza ( more than enough to feed a five year old with a healthy appetite!) beef was nicely cooked, carrots had a tarragon finish, roast potatoes were lovely! Veg still had bite…. Good food cooked well! We’ll be back with friends soon!

On Tuesday this week, I visited Primo Piatto's in Waltham Abbey, for the first time, with my two friends, and we had the most amazing evening! From the moment we walked in we were blown away with the beautiful decor and the cool, modern, contemporary vibe! The service was outstanding - very warm, friendly, attentive and personal, and the food was absolutely delicious!! Everything looked and felt clean, modern and fresh (including the toilets) and I loved the fact that the restaurant had been designed so thoughtfully, to offer the choice of either, a vibrant social dining space, or a quieter, more intimate setting. The choice of background music and candles, plus pastel coloured flowers and fairy lights across the entire length of the ceiling, created a perfect ambiance throughout the night! It was so relaxing, it honestly felt like we were on holiday somewhere! It really was a wonderful experience, and the whole evening was rounded off with some complimentary shots, which was a very welcome gesture! I had such a lovely evening, I actually went back to Primo Piatto's the following night with my sister to try out another dish. She too was similarly impressed, and like me, will definitely be returning with her friends and family in the near future! Thank you Primo Piatto's for a truly wonderful dining experience! It's not often I bother putting a review online, as most places offer a like-for-like experience, but credit where credits due, you stood out, on both nights, for your high quality service and food, and I would highly recommend your restaurant in the future! Our second visit to this restaurant was as good as the first, excellent food friendly and efficient staff. A great atmosphere. It was not too busy, given it was Sunday lunch, I had expected it to be crowded. The menu had everything that we wanted and good value for the money.

I drive pass this place everyday and used to go here with my dad when he was alive and it was a pub so was sort of drawn in, and I'm glad I was was food was absolutely delicious and lunch time menu excellent value. Enzo was a great host and I will definitely be going back . Well done Enzo and I wish you all the best

Lovely setting, great staff, and atmosphere. Perhaps it was a busy afternoon, and we were a largish group, but food took quite a while to be served and not all at once. My calzone was also not as hot as I would have liked...

The first two times we ate here we had a great experience and decided to return for a third time to celebrate a birthday. My meal was below average for both the starter and the main. Bruschetta had no garlic or olive oil. Tomatoes had no taste. Putanescca was just mediocre although I enjoyed it there before. I could have cooked it better myself. Service however was really below standard. Seated in the alcove area in almost darkness with no light. After several requests the owner bought some candles and a small light. The area was cold and draughty. It seems like they have a problem, with staff. It was near impossible to order drinks as throughout our entire meal, not a single member of the staff came to see if we wanted anything or how the food was. It will be awhile before I return. Shame really as it used to be very good and the owner seemed decent.

Been here 7 times. Antipasti starter was missing the mozzarella.. the main meal salmon was small portion over cooked. And Panna cotta was not set... so disappointed as previous visits was excellent... I wouldn't rush back which is a shame as we live opposite.... previous visits were a cut above.. hopefully it improves....

Great service, clean, but food was not the 5*. It was OK, but pizzas far from the "best pizza I ever had." We might come back to check other items on the menu. Hopefully, they will add something with italian porchini mushrooms.

Wonderful atmosphere, the restaurant is very beautiful. The waiters and waitresses were excellent - attentive but not intrusive, and very, very helpful. The only drawback was that the food took a very long time to arrive at the table (surprising given that the restaurant wasn't that busy), and basics like spaghetti bolognese were of poor quality, although the lasagne and other foods we had were excellent.

Food was delicious and served very hot. The service speed was great but the server himself was not very friendly, did not ask us at any point if we wanted more drinks or checked on how our food was. We also had to find him (he was sitting down at the back of the restaurant) when we wanted to pay. Overall worth is for the food.

Cold food. Overpriced as small quantities

The service was awful, we waited over a hour & half for our starters, then to be told 2 of the things we picked were now off the menu. So another 30 min wait 😡. Then we ordered pizzas. When they arrived one was burnt on top , which was sent back, & one burnt black underneath . My friend took hers home to feed the foxes.. we didn't bother with deserts as we had been there nearly 4 hours. Will never go there again…😡😡😡

Haven’t been in the building for nearly 40 years! Took my mother and my partners mother for a meal last Monday (11th March 2024) Menu as appealing as any high quality Italian restaurant. The 4 of us chose a range dishes that won’t have made it easy for the chefs. All choices and all courses were delicious. The service was typically friendly but balanced with product knowledge and quality of service. The decor is lovely as well. I had the pleasure of speaking to Enzo who described the challenges over the years including COVID and I’m so pleased that the restaurant appears to be thriving. He and members of his team looked after us beautifully. Keeping us relaxed and comfortable with joviality mixed with great attentiveness. Worth adding that the gluten free pasta was as good as regular pasta and such flexibility, accommodating such dietary requirements. I rarely review businesses and experiences but was compelled to write this in as much detail as I have. I cannot wait to visit my hometown and dine at Primo Piatto once again 😍

was awfull was here to celebrate my 70th with friends, staff were friendly but quility of food was appalling ordered dough balls but came out as 2 squares of dough, other starters was told after 20 minutes haden't got it, chose a 2nd same problem 20 minute wait an that choice was also unavailable, sent 1 pizza back all burnt on top, other very burnt underneath base but we still had to pay , no offer to refund our money..........

Such a lovely place, feels really special when you walk in. It's a spacious restaurant so it's very comfortable, the tables aren't too close together. We went on Mother's Day so the menu was limited, but still plenty of choice. Everyone enjoyed the food. Service was excellent considering it was extremely busy, we loved everything about our evening here.

Delivered just inside the allocated time slot, unfortunately the food (pizza & garlic focaccia) was stone cold. Pizza was probably nice but let down due to the temp, the focaccia appeared undercooked, and being cold was left to the side. Overall a poor first impression. You live and learn.

Usually going out with 2 out of 2 kids having adhd can be very challenging and people can look down their nose at you. I went here last night and it was challenging, but the waiter and waitress were professional and had a little joke about it where most places tend to be rude not knowing about additional needs. The waiter being older, clearly had a lot of experience, was very helpful and polite. The young red head girl was so well mannered, kind and continuously made sure we and the food was ok and kept us topped up on drinks. For such a young girl you don’t tend to see this so I’d say she’s a real asset!.. the place is absolutely beautiful and good for sensory needs with all the flowers 🤣.. the food was amazing, I can’t rate it enough

Our first visit to primo Piatto, and it won’t be the last…., we asked for a quiet table and that’s what we received…. Just perfect… service was on point and the food didn’t disappoint…. I’m Italian and I know my food…… well done primo Piatto…. We will definitely be coming back to try more of the amazing menu…. Thank you for a lovely evening…. It was a lovely restaurant, beautifully decorated. They were very accommodating for a birthday party of 9. The food was delicious but a wee bit expensive.

We went here for Valentine’s Day. Inside has been decorated very nicely from the pub it once was a long time ago. The service was very welcoming and attentive. The food itself was very good as well and we weren’t waiting for too long. Atmosphere was fine although there were two people behind us who were a little worse for wear and I think the staff may have recognised that and stopped serving alcohol but it’s a difficult scenario really.

We arrived on Sunday at 12.30 pm and hadn't booked. We had arrived just before the lunchtime rush. The food and service were both excellent. The welcome was warm and friendly. We will be back soon.

We were a party of 10 for lunch that had pre booked for 13:00 hrs and were aware of the lunch time set priced menu. On being seated we were not showrn the set menu so had to ask for it. 3 of us chose a pasta main dish which included mushrooms and strips of chicken These were served without the chicken, we brought this to the attention of the staff who initially explained they had ordered pasta with just mushrooms then apologised and agreed the chicken had been forgotten. These 3 finally received their meal after 75 mins of waiting. Also downgraded the food by 1 star as it was served just warm.

Very well decorated and presented, unfortunately our experience wasn’t the best, we were given an awful table by the bar area and had dozens of waiting disgruntled customers who were frustrated with the delay to their tables, hovering around our table which was like the roundabout to get in and out the main restaurant. At one point we had 15 people around our table waiting to be seated and others exiting! We had mentioned this and our opinions to the staff who were very polite but didn’t really do anything about the situation. Other than when paying, us re emphasising our bad experience and being offered a shot and a better table next time! Food was average (being Italian I know my palette) Car park too busy with limited spaces, be careful when booking as the change over from the first sitting to the second isn’t great and ask for a table away from the bar and be prepared to wait for your table especially on a Saturday evening. A shame as the place came highly recommended and we were initially excited for a nice evening. Perhaps we were just unlucky.

Very disappointing. Service was slow even though we were the only ones in there. The 2 waiters made us wait ages for everything. They gave us the evening menus not the lunchtime menus. My pizza was stone cold and tasteless. The waiter obviously made it sit on the side before he brought it to our table. My friend didn't rate her hamburger and chips much either, she said it was tasteless. The waiters ignored us when they should have served us, we had to tell them to come over to take our orders for main course, desserts and extra drinks. They were lazy. Awful service, awful food and very over priced dishes. We were originally going to book it for Mother's Day, but changed our minds due to the bad lunch experience. We are Definitely Not going back there.

prices may seem a bit higher than usual but it's 100% authentic Italian pizza, not like that domino's crappie you get, pizza tasted amazing at primo, very impressed.

I went here after being stuck in stand still traffic on the m25 for over an hour. i just needed to use the toilet. went in and explained the situation and they said no i can’t use the toilet, i had to buy something. so i said ill buy a coke and then the man tried to make me buy a pizza. i just wanted a wee. the restaurant looked lovely, shame the staff weren’t.

Had a family gathering here last night. It is such a pretty venue. The staff are welcoming, friendly and attentive, without being overbearing, the food was delicious, and everything was very relaxed. We are looking forward to our next visit.

Perfection pizza again. Wish the garlic bread was a little more moist with garlic butter or something and the fried zucchini maybe needs a different transport idea as was soggy on arrival but you could tell they would be amazing crispy. Only minor tho and mean this as a positive. Great food tho

Despite living round we this is only our second visit. We came about 8 months ago and although the food was fantastic, my wife was pregnant so was Limited on what she could eat. Fast forward a good few months and my wife, myself and our 7 day old daughter visited again. Pleased to say that everything is still fantastic. Wonderful food and staff with an excellent ambiance. Won't wait so long to come back next time!

We held a family birthday party for 23 including 4 children- we were given a private section of the restaurant & everything was perfect- the food orders were all correct & arrived at the same time - the staff were brilliant & couldn't do enough for us & everyone had a fabulous time the restaurant was beautifully decorated for Xmas which added to the atmosphere - thank you to Enzo & his brilliant staff for a great afternoon

This restaurant is wonderful. Family run Italian with friendly, attentive staff, cosy atmosphere and fabulous food! Great menu includes, pizza, pasta, risotto, fish and meat dishes. I had the veal chop which was divine, and my wife had one of the best pizzas she had enjoyed in years! Starters and desserts were also superb, so all in all a fantastic evening out. Cannot wait to go again!

Been a few times before ,but this was the worse meal I have had here Salmon dry,service non existant tiramisu watery like it was put together there and then,not good at all ???? whats happening here??? I have previously enjoyed meals here on a number of occasions but its gone downhill
