Consistently amazing throughout the years. They could offer more wine option under £60 though.

Lovely venue and decor. Nice service. The food was very good and good portion sizes. We had fennel and gruyere, John dory and pork cheek and all three were so good! We also took the crepe and it was good but not at the same level as the other dishes.

My second visit to Primeur recently, and the food didn’t disappoint. However I did feel let down by the service. Took about five minutes for someone to notice we had entered the restaurant (almost just went to go find a seat ourselves), and much too long to order a drink when we had been shown our table. Fortunately the food was great, otherwise I would have felt slightly betrayed as I had such a good experience first time I visited. Hope they sort the service out as it seems to be a bit of a theme; hope their success hasn’t led to reduced quality..

VERY delicious food with indifferent service. CHEF: You obviously put a lot of work and skill into your sauces: why won't you make sure that your customers can enjoy every drop of them? Bread is the obvious vehicle, but it was withheld from our party after the initial plate. I get that good bread (and yours was good bread) is expensive. I have just come from Lyon where every bouchon serves every quenelle with a small bowl of rice to make sure every splotch of sauce can be savoured! Please consider that alternative if bread service is too dear. Your sauces are amazing, but become a tease after the dish bits are eaten.

Overrated. Was looking forward to having dinner here as it’s a place that consistently pops up on various “best” places list. The food was average (and for how much you pay it hardly felt worth it). The table we were sat at was sticky. The service was really not great - not helpful, unimpressed and felt like the only thing they were doing was rushing us or trying to make us order more (without really recommending things in a nice way which is how you get people to order more).

Went as a solo diner on a Sunday evening, fairly late. Lovely arrival experience as my name was written on the counter, right where I'd be sitting! The counter overlooking the kitchen makes this a very comfortable place to be a solo diner. Service was pleasant, though not overly interested. Not much was said about the food or wine on offer. Cute place with nice vibes; menu was written on the chalkboard. Emphasis was on natural wines and funkier stuff, which can be fun; the pet nat was tasty. There was a nice buzz to the place for a Sunday evening; the noice level wasn't overwhelming. Menu had about 12 items -- nice variety of proteins and about what you'd expect at one of these wine-centric bistros. I ordered the fish; the red mullet on the menu had been swapped for monkfish. It was a tasty dish with nice accompanying vegetables that had been cooked down to create a flavorful sauce for the fish. Not the most attractive presentation I've ever seen, but the taste hit the spot. Cute place; I'd definitely return.

This is such a lovely place to eat. Food is lush, well made, interesting and delicious. Service was great too. Decor pleasing. The only down side is it's a bit loud, as it's large shared tables, which are quite wide, so hard to hear people on the other side. Also, drinks limited if you're not into wine.

My partner booked this as a surprise and I was really looking forward to it. The atmosphere and decor were Nice. The food was mediocre, nothing stood out as being really tasty and we actually left our belly pork dish as it was so unenjoyable. The dishes were incredibly expensive (£10 for one piece of corn) We ordered some wine on recommendation of the waiter, which was £60, and it didn’t taste anything like we were expecting and left it we disliked it so much. The service was mediocre, we got served the wrong wine to begin with, and after leaving the wine and belly pork, staff didn’t really ask if everything was okay until we paid, at which point I said it was okay. They didn’t seem to care too much about customer satisfaction. Wouldn’t recommend. £150 bill.

The food is so bad here. Felt like I paid £100 to eat kitchen leftovers. One of the plates I had was nectarine and cucumbers cut up in uneven chunks covered in olive oil. For £13 !!! Why am I being served food that I could prepare better at home. Me and my partner stayed purely for the humour of it. Aubergine and baked beans was another. 0 skill. 0 finesse. I think this place should advertise themselves as a wine bar with fridge snacks. If you love food. You will hate it here.

Overrated in my opinion. Food is ok but nothing remarkable that we were overly impressed by. Was expensive for what it was. Was a nice vibe there on a Friday night with the doors open - nice inside/outside feel. Waiting staff were quite surly and unimpressed - they didn't seem to happy to be there, nor were they were concerned by providing diners with a good experience. Had to ask for a few things (butter etc) several times and they were eventually brought unapologetically as if we'd been impertinent for even asking. They started hoovering up around us at 11.15 on a Friday night, which all felt like quite an abrupt end to the night. We've had far better dining experiences recently so won't be returning. Have heard similar things about Weston's Laundry too so won't be giving that a go...

We arrived with high hopes, spurred by the glowing reviews we had read. The atmosphere was charming, and the space itself was pleasant. Unfortunately, the food fell short of expectations. Both the chicken ballontine and the bavette were mediocre, with lackluster flavors that failed to enhance our dining experience. The components of each dish were fine individually, but they didn't come together harmoniously. The nectarine and ricotta salad, which, while fresh and tasty, was unremarkable. The fregola-stuffed courgette was the biggest letdown of the evening, tasting incomplete with bland courgette and plain fregola—not worth the £21 price tag. . In summary, it felt like a trendy spot with an overpriced menu. Regrettably, we can't recommend it—London has better options at this price point.

We came here with high expectations after reading all the glowing reviews. The atmosphere is cute and the space is quite nice. Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to the hype. We started with the nectarine and ricotta salad, which was fresh and tasty but not remarkable. The fregola-stuffed courgette was the most disappointing dish of the evening; it felt incomplete, with bland courgette and plain fregola. This dish certainly wasn't worth £21. The chicken ballontine and the bavette were also mediocre, with flat flavours that didn't enhance our experience. The elements of the plates were fine on their own but didn't really add up combined. Overall, it felt like a cool place with an overpriced menu. Sadly don't recommend - London offers better places for this price point.

I often dine at Jolene as I'm vegetarian and normally there are more options for me. The food is delicious and the atmosphere and service are always exceptional, so I'm sure it would be here too. However, this review isn't about the food but about how extremely kind the staff were to me this Saturday evening. I came into the restaurant very panicked, stressed and upset when my phone had just been stolen by someone on a bike near the area. I came in and asked if I was able to use their phone to call my partner. Everyone was very kind and reassuring, they offered me to take a seat, gave me a glass of water and said to take as long as I needed to on the phone. I really do appreciate it so much and it really saved me! So thank you to the team they really looked out for me, next time I'll be back and it will be different circumstances and I'm looking forward to it!

A slightly stranger 5 star review coming in here from Primeur, but one that shows their class. Firstly I don't write reviews, secondly I don't really kick up a fuss... I'm inherently British in that sense, but I think they deserve it. Went with my gf to Primeur last night and sat at the bar... a lovely waitress served us (can't remember her name). Some miscommunication between her and I led her to bringing out a v expensive bottle of natural wine (I thought I ordered a Pinot). It wasn't for us. Now I am not a wine snob at all, far from it... but it did taste rather acidic, and when you're paying for the money you want it to be good, ya know? Anyway, I asked for it to be tasted as we weren't happy. Inside of 5 minutes the lovely waitress brought her manager over (Alex) who brought out two other bottle options (we went for a Beaujolais in the end)... that was delicious - and removed the other bottle from the bill. These moments I always find slightly awkward but they were so nice to us, and sorted things out. Food was 10/10, as expected really... but the staff make any restaurant a vibe. And to be fair, they came good... will defo go back.

Garlic-infused almond sauce drizzled over fresh green beans topped with peaches made for a refreshing starter. Following that, we enjoyed a flavorful cod mashed with potatoes and stuffed with delicious peppers. A plate arrived featuring lamb heart presented in its most delicate form, capturing its unique aroma beautifully. However, the strong contrast of horseradish on the same plate was a bit too much for my taste. The whole mackerel we ordered to share as the main course was perfectly cooked. The fresh tomato-infused olive oil was a lovely complement. Sitting at the counter overlooking the kitchen, watching the culinary action unfold, always offers the best view. Thank you chef!

One of my favourite things about Primeur is the very thoughtful and beautiful interiors, which were recently updated to yellow bright monstrosities. I was really looking forward to eating here as it had come highly recommended, the interior design and ambience felt nice and unique, given it was an old garage. The food was decent but nothing exceptional, I found the staff really lacking in attention to detail and portraying quite a fake nice demeanour, I’ve noticed that across a few east london restaurants, it feels really inauthentic in particular when they are so inattentive We had our table for a a few hours and lost track of time enjoying our meal and conversation, when I asked for dessert they said they can only serve if if there’s 30mins left on the booking, but that if I really wanted it I’d have to be moved to another table so they could prepare the table for the next reservations. There were 15mins to the next reservation and I thought this was plenty of time to enjoy a dessert and generally think it’s bad practice to rush someone off when you could ask the next table to wait a few minutes while we wrap up or even better be attentive and tell us ahead of time your rule on having to order dessert 30mins before - which seems abit crazy given all they had was posset, cheese and tiramisu none of which seemed like they need any particular prep. Anyway this left a sour taste in our mouths and ultimately we ended up feeling that we’d had a really average experience with inattentive fake nice staff who just wanted to rush us out the door. I get you need to prep the table for the next setting and it’s Friday and you’re busy but that’s no excuse for mediocre hospitality in a place that charges so much too. Wouldn’t go back or recommend

The waiter then came back to the table to check if I knew a bottle was £75, she then came back a second time and double check again as she was opening the bottle if I was sure I wanted it? I struggle to describe it. It wasn’t necessarily bad. It wasn’t *that* overpriced. The service wasn’t *that* terrible. But was it exceptional? No. Was it adequate? Just about. The food was tasty, but I wouldn’t call it delicious. The service wasn’t terrible, but it wasn’t great. It was hard to get the waiters’ attention at times, but when you did get it they were generally nice. The food was okay, not entirely inventive, but well executed regardless, just not worth the price charged particularly for the starters. The wine was meh and overpriced, but that’s usual. This restaurant is very cool, maybe a bit too cool for me. The sharing idea is good but some of the dishes are pretty small (tasty and nicely plated though). It’s expensive for what it is. The wine was very nice. I booked the table for my lovely daughter’s birthday which I did mention on the booking form. We had the present and card opening there. It would have been nice if just one of the staff had said ‘Happy Birthday’ or something (obviously not cool to do?). The staff were a mix of nice and indifferent. Nevertheless we made to best of it for our daughter. When we asked if we could have coffee at the end of the meal, we were told they didn’t do that 🤷🏻‍♀️ God I feel old, is this normal now? We were told to go down the road if we wanted one. I love leaving good reviews and sharing my great experiences with others. It’s communal style and sharing plates, nice concept but this style of dining should not be this expensive. £29 for one tapas size meat dish is pretty steep. “Each plate is brought out when ready” meaning you are sharing a bowl of leaves and dressing on their own for the first 20 mins, then raw curried cauliflower for another 15 mins, and so on so you can’t enjoy the flavours together. Staff were pleasant and attentive but in my opinion the whole concept is pretentious at this price. £200 for 3 people eating mostly vegetarian side dishes and a bottle and a half of wine.

Really disappointed with our experience here. Booked two months in advance, and made a note on the booking that my other half has an allergy to cow's dairy. We got a phone call from them on the morning of our reservation to confirm our booking and also to clarify the allergy. When we arrived we were told that of the 8 larger dishes, there were only 3 my wife could have. And none of the desserts. (It also just so happened that out of the three she could eat, one was lamb which she doesn't like - but I accept that is a personal preference). So our meal ended up being made up largely of starter dishes, like anchovies and cured meats. For a restaurant which is supposed to focus on sharing plates, I ordered dishes which I ended up eating on my own because I literally couldn't share them with my wife as she couldn't eat them. The food which we did eat was nice, it's just a shame it was so limited. The waiting staff were very pleasant and were as helpful as they could be - but they were also rushed off their feet. Perhaps they were a person down? Maybe someone had called in sick? I hope that's the case, because the restaurant was not full and they were really stretched and seemed very stressed. They apologised for the issue with the menu and brought us some complimentary drinks, which we appreciated. But ultimately we did end up leaving still hungry, and of course not having had any dessert. On the way back to the overground we popped in to nearby Perilla restaurant who were able to seat us and who told us we could have anything on their menu and it could be adjusted for allergies, and there were allergy-friendly desserts - so we ended up getting a table and finishing our meal there, but ultimately wishing we'd just gone there all along. Really wanted to like Primeur, but sadly felt like we were unable to. (Also: Small detail, but our booking note said it was a special occasion and nothing was done to acknowledge that. A very small thing but this might be important to some people and depending on the occasion.)

One of the best restaurants in the area, what a hidden gem. The menu is small but with variety. The execution of each dish, superb. I could have just kept eating the rabbit dish as well as the monk fish dish. Good for pairs, or groups. Popular so suggest booking in advance. Wine selection would benefit from a few New World wines. Will be back again and likely again and again!

Just bad. Don't go. Service is apalling. Food is average at best. They don't cater for allergens... This is a first for me. They dealt with it so badly I felt like a 3rd class citizen. Couldn't not reccomend more highly.

We had previously visited Primeur and loved the food and restaurant so much we booked for 13 of us for a special occasion. The food, staff and ambiance were incredible. The staff helped us choose delicious wine which paired perfectly with the food and could not do enough to help. The starters were amazing and then we had a show stopper Lamb for main (veggie alternative was also provided) and an enormous Pavlova to share for desert, which we are all still dreaming about. All our guest said how incredible the food was and that they would be back. I would not hesitate to recommend the restaurant and make a big shout out to the Primeur team for making our meal so special!

Dishes change every day but extremely limited and expensive for what it is. Seating is on tables with other couples or against the wall. It’s definitely a place that’s very different and maybe appeals to millennials with huge amount of spare cash. If that’s not you, go a little further to Stoke newington and enjoy an array of reasonably priced and gorgeous food

A winters evening booked for a table for 6 with a wheelchair and they put us by the door ( no alternative possible despite request) which was constantly opening and unable to close properly. Oh well lets get some drinks. No Coke, fanta sprite or coffee. The menu was limited with 3 mains and 2 desserts. The staff were attentive but the portions were ok but small for the price. Alittle monfk fish £32. £2 per mini croquet. £265 for 6 may not seem excessive but I luckily filled up with bread and butter

Visited for the first time after many recommendations. We were very excited for our food but unfortunately it didn’t hit the spot. The food was average at best. Bland and unoriginal. We love the idea of small plate sharers but these were tiny plates that were underwhelming and overpriced. The wine was not great either, again another great expectation that didn’t hit the mark. We had one dish we really enjoyed, the caramelised onion on toast (!) but that was it. I really hate to say this but the restaurant is pure hype. It looks like the place to be but fails to deliver. Disappointing all round. The saving grace was the service. We had a lovely waiter who knew the menu and was very nice and accommodating. We tipped for the service only! Food needs massive improvement. Would not recommend sadly.

We had fabulous service from our waiter for the majority of the night. The food was tasty but expensive for what it is and very few options for vegetarians. The bill came to just under £150 with the standard 12.5% 'optional' service charge added. My party of three made a quick calculation to split the cost. The waitress who took the payments said we were down 56p. I casually said, 'Oh, we rounded down when we worked it out as isn't the £15 service charge optional'. She was incredibly rude and said 'well it is optional but it is nice to support people who give you a nice night'. It was incredibly awkward and she stormed off. I would not return, especially after paying the £15 optional tip to be spoken to with such an attitude over 56p was pretty surprising.

Dined here with my son for a belated Father’s Day celebration. We had the spelt, tongue, ricotta, scallops, lamb and sticky toffee pudding. All were tasty and beautifully presented. Only criticism of the place was that we had a booking for 8pm and the waitress was trying to hurry us up to flip the table at 9:45pm. We couldn’t help that the service meant that our dishes hadn’t arrived.

If you like low lighting and an eclectic wine list and menu, then this is the place for you! We've been here three times and every time it's been really fantastic — not sure what all the bad review are moaning about. It can get a bit cramped on super-busy nights so probably not suitable for people who like their space, but if you're into a funky communal dining vibe, you should check it out!

We ate here a couple years ago and it was quite good so we came back last weekend. They had all the tables sat at the same time and it was a set menu, which is fine, however it meant we were on everyone else's agenda in terms of speed of the courses etc. The food itself was not great - there was no real theme to the dishes. The 'snack' was some fried bread with an aubergine dip which was just average. The starter was a sardine and some apples in some creamy sauce, kind of bizarre and bland. The main was lamb with some moroccan cous cous, however it was served almost cold - probably because they were mass preparing for everyone in the restaurant - and also served with a pretty dull knife as well so hard to cut. The flavours were very 'ok' but nothing too exciting. When we mentioned to our server that i was cold she just got awkward and didn't apologise or do anything. Finally the dessert was some weird bun which honestly looked like a sainsbury's hot cross bun soaked in rum and served with cream with a few sultanas on top. The meal came to £200 with our bottle of wine for 3 people - all of us were left super disappointed and felt ripped off to be perfectly honest. Will not be keen to return.

Don’t fall into the trap we did of thinking the bad reviews here about pretentiousness and price are just written by people who were surprised by having to pay a lot. We love good restaurants and are happy to pay a lot for exceptional food. The food here is truly terrible and the wine should be illegal... The concept of a new menu every night sounds great. Reality is it ends up tasting like un-practiced freezer use-up. Will never go back.

Very disappointed , four of us squashed onto a table for two , knocking elbows with neighbours. Champagne served too warm and told they had no ice buckets. Food was ok a little average but tiny portions and overpriced for what it was. Clams disappointing but the Brill was good . The waiting staff were very pleasant though .

Intimate dining with great wait staff! The menu changes constantly but always has interesting items and great variety. Our favorite dishes were the carrots, pumpkin, and Lamb pasta! Candlelit evening with great ambient light above. The seating is not like most restaurants (my wife and I were sitting next to each other versus at a table), but it only adds to the intimacy. Highly recommend.

My son booked this restaurant as we were down visiting. There were six of us dining with our respective partners. It sounded interesting being situated in an old garage premises. Very much a stripped back decor with benches and utility seats. We decided to try the majority of the taster style menu which came to about 12/13 small plates. Each I have to admit we’re enjoyable, the ingredients freshly cooked, our favourites we ordered more, unfortunately the haddock dish wasn’t quite the same when it came with cod as they’d run out of the former. I did order the cheese platter separately but was slightly underwhelmed by the variety and portion size. We did order a number of recommended bottles of wine all of which we drank thirstily. The evening was most enjoyable, the staff just sufficiently attentive and would recommend to anyone who hasn’t been before. The only downside and the reason I didn’t give it five stars was I felt it was overpriced for what was served.

Obviously the space looks incredible, and nice atmosphere but the food and wine is extraordinarily over priced and just not that good. Quite underseasoned and uninspired and the plates are tiny. Berserk that people are burning money here. Do yourself a favour - save 100 quid and go up the road to Haringey Green Lanes and get the best Iskender Kebab you've ever had instead

Fantástico restaurante del barrio. Tapas estilo italiano.

It is a unique experience. We haven't gone as often as we would have liked to, as it is slightly pricey but totally worth the price. I hugely recommend it for an especial occasion. Top-quality, seasonal ingredients are used to simple, stunning effect.

I visited here as a Japanese tourist. I heard this food is so nice. First, I was overwhelmed by the good selection of local Dalston beers. Eventhough, with this sublime Victorian interior!!! I didn't know what should to order, so I started with the recommended machintosh ales, maybe pale ale. For the second drink, I ordered one that many regular customers were ordering, but it was sold out. And they recommended a similar one, It was also very very nice. I wasn't hungry at that time, so the only dish I ordered was mussels escabeche, but it was also nice mariage with the beers. It was one of my best London pub experiences.

Christmas is coming and yet Wetherspoon still doesn't want to invest in staff, it's impossible to order at the bar... there isn't enough staff, I ordered from the table and it took more than 45 minutes, unbelievable, despite speaking to the waiter... and to top it off, in the soup I ordered, there was a piece of plastic, 🤮 I can't imagine what else I ate, what it had... this Wetherspoon is terrible, I still don't understand it, because some Wetherspoons are clean and have normal delivery times... not this one. 😠

Love this chippy and it’s perfect if you suffer from celiacs disease, you can have delicious grilled or fried gluten free fish in batter and chips, without any worries of contamination 🥰. The grilled skate and chips is my favourite, cooked to perfection and big portions. My husband has tried most things and found them all really tasty and apparently the deserts are yummy too, although not always GF. Our friend had the Apple and cinnamon crumble today, with ice cream and said it was the best ever. Sergio is a happy, friendly guy and takes very good care of his customers, especially if you have allergies. Thanks for a lovely meal, we will be back again soon
