We were celebrating my sister’s birthday, the food was great but the service was awful, a blonde lady with short hair didn’t treat us well and the person that recommended us the place said the same thing about her. I’m not usually a person that complains, but when you pay more than £300 that is not what you expect in return.

Super cool restaurant with excellent staff and kitchen. It's no wonder they earned a Bib Gourmand rating because it was a wonderful meal, great service and setting, and an awesome value. Dine here before they get too popular.

Decent food. Reasonable service. Found it quite pretentious and dark. No real menus and food was extremely expensive for what it was. Small chicken for £28 felt extortionate. Great monkfish however - wine also decent.

I was really looking forward to eating here as it had come highly recommended, the interior design and ambience felt nice and unique, given it was an old garage. The food was decent but nothing exceptional, I found the staff really lacking in attention to detail and portraying quite a fake nice demeanour, I’ve noticed that across a few east london restaurants, it feels really inauthentic in particular when they are so inattentive We had our table for a a few hours and lost track of time enjoying our meal and conversation, when I asked for dessert they said they can only serve if if there’s 30mins left on the booking, but that if I really wanted it I’d have to be moved to another table so they could prepare the table for the next reservations. There were 15mins to the next reservation and I thought this was plenty of time to enjoy a dessert and generally think it’s bad practice to rush someone off when you could ask the next table to wait a few minutes while we wrap up or even better be attentive and tell us ahead of time your rule on having to order dessert 30mins before - which seems abit crazy given all they had was posset, cheese and tiramisu none of which seemed like they need any particular prep. Anyway this left a sour taste in our mouths and ultimately we ended up feeling that we’d had a really average experience with inattentive fake nice staff who just wanted to rush us out the door. I get you need to prep the table for the next setting and it’s Friday and you’re busy but that’s no excuse for mediocre hospitality in a place that charges so much too. Wouldn’t go back or recommend

Being asked twice if I was sure I wanted something because of the price, was not okay. Of course I chose the drink and could read the price myself. The waiter then came back to the table to check if I knew a bottle was £75, she then came back a second time and double check again as she was opening the bottle if I was sure I wanted it? Made me feel incredibly uncomfortable and judged. Not everyone who has ‘money’ dresses in a navy skirt suit!

I struggle to describe it. It wasn’t necessarily bad. It wasn’t *that* overpriced. The service wasn’t *that* terrible. But was it exceptional? No. Was it adequate? Just about. The food was tasty, but I wouldn’t call it delicious. The service wasn’t terrible, but it wasn’t great. It was hard to get the waiters’ attention at times, but when you did get it they were generally nice. The food was okay, not entirely inventive, but well executed regardless, just not worth the price charged particularly for the starters. The wine was meh and overpriced, but that’s usual. Overall, not a bad evening, but wouldn’t go back and wouldn’t actively recommend to others.

Really fantastic experience. Seven of us, including 3 kids, had a long, relaxing Sunday lunch. 8 or 9 sharing plates of absolutely delicious food (especially the mangalitza pork with baked rice and quince aioli OH MY GOD IT WAS SO GOOD) left us all full and happy. The quality of all the food was very high, the service was friendly and efficient and the space and seating was attractive and comfortable. Thanks so much. Well done.

Really lovely restaurant. We sat at the bar for our meal and it was just a really nice vibe in there. The food was really good. I’ve never had cod roe like this and it was incredible. Every dish just tasted super fresh and carefully thought out. My only criticism was that the pork crackling was chewy and hard to cut, but it was still a really tasty dish! I could look for new restaurants and try new things, but with primeur’s menus and quality I see no reason why. I’m always so delighted. Apparently people go to the restaurant for the wine variety/quality, I don’t drink, and go exclusively for the food, and I’m always excited to go and sad to leave. Being picky with food and often disappointed eating out, this is my safe place (by no means boring or repetitive). Thank you so much!

This restaurant is very cool, maybe a bit too cool for me. The sharing idea is good but some of the dishes are pretty small (tasty and nicely plated though). It’s expensive for what it is. The wine was very nice. I booked the table for my lovely daughter’s birthday which I did mention on the booking form. We had the present and card opening there. It would have been nice if just one of the staff had said ‘Happy Birthday’ or something (obviously not cool to do?). The staff were a mix of nice and indifferent. Nevertheless we made to best of it for our daughter. When we asked if we could have coffee at the end of the meal, we were told they didn’t do that 🤷🏻♀️ God I feel old, is this normal now? We were told to go down the road if we wanted one. I love leaving good reviews and sharing my great experiences with others. But in this case I feel people should know what to expect so they won’t be disappointed.

It’s communal style and sharing plates, nice concept but this style of dining should not be this expensive. £29 for one tapas size meat dish is pretty steep. “Each plate is brought out when ready” meaning you are sharing a bowl of leaves and dressing on their own for the first 20 mins, then raw curried cauliflower for another 15 mins, and so on so you can’t enjoy the flavours together. Staff were pleasant and attentive but in my opinion the whole concept is pretentious at this price. £200 for 3 people eating mostly vegetarian side dishes and a bottle and a half of wine.

Menu composed of small plates, simple but tasty, with an attention to food origin, seasons and sustainability. Natural wines available - the name apparently comes from them selling casks of young wines before is bottled, in the hope it matures into something delicious or just a good investment. Delicious seasonal food. We managed to grab a table at the bar where we could see the chefs creating all of the dishes. Perfect little restaurant for a romantic dinner and I would love to return on my next trip back to London: My main reason for leaving a review is because the girl we had looking after us was amazing, we asked her to talk us through the whole menu and she was very enthusiastic and genuine. It felt like she had a passion for her job which often lacks when people work in hospitality, but hats off to her for also making our evening so lovely and enjoyable with her service. I

Really disappointed with our experience here. Booked two months in advance, and made a note on the booking that my other half has an allergy to cow's dairy. We got a phone call from them on the morning of our reservation to confirm our booking and also to clarify the allergy. When we arrived we were told that of the 8 larger dishes, there were only 3 my wife could have. And none of the desserts. (It also just so happened that out of the three she could eat, one was lamb which she doesn't like - but I accept that is a personal preference). So our meal ended up being made up largely of starter dishes, like anchovies and cured meats. For a restaurant which is supposed to focus on sharing plates, I ordered dishes which I ended up eating on my own because I literally couldn't share them with my wife as she couldn't eat them. The food which we did eat was nice, it's just a shame it was so limited. The waiting staff were very pleasant and were as helpful as they could be - but they were also rushed off their feet. Perhaps they were a person down? Maybe someone had called in sick? I hope that's the case, because the restaurant was not full and they were really stretched and seemed very stressed. They apologised for the issue with the menu and brought us some complimentary drinks, which we appreciated. But ultimately we did end up leaving still hungry, and of course not having had any dessert. On the way back to the overground we popped in to nearby Perilla restaurant who were able to seat us and who told us we could have anything on their menu and it could be adjusted for allergies, and there were allergy-friendly desserts - so we ended up getting a table and finishing our meal there, but ultimately wishing we'd just gone there all along. Really wanted to like Primeur, but sadly felt like we were unable to. (Also: Small detail, but our booking note said it was a special occasion and nothing was done to acknowledge that. A very small thing but this might be important to some people and depending on the occasion.)

The starters were amazing and then we had a show stopper Lamb for main (veggie alternative was also provided) and an enormous Pavlova to share for desert, which we are all still dreaming about. Visited for the first time after many recommendations. We were very excited for our food but unfortunately it didn’t hit the spot. The food was average at best. Bland and unoriginal. We love the idea of small plate sharers but these were tiny plates that were underwhelming and overpriced. The wine was not great either, again another great expectation that didn’t hit the mark. We had one dish we really enjoyed, the caramelised onion on toast (!) but that was it. I really hate to say this but the restaurant is pure hype. It looks like the place to be but fails to deliver. Disappointing all round. The saving grace was the service. We had a lovely waiter who knew the menu and was very nice and accommodating. We tipped for the service only! Food needs massive improvement. Would not recommend sadly.

We had fabulous service from our waiter for the majority of the night. The food was tasty but expensive for what it is and very few options for vegetarians. The bill came to just under £150 with the standard 12.5% 'optional' service charge added. My party of three made a quick calculation to split the cost. The waitress who took the payments said we were down 56p. I casually said, 'Oh, we rounded down when we worked it out as isn't the £15 service charge optional'. She was incredibly rude and said 'well it is optional but it is nice to support people who give you a nice night'. It was incredibly awkward and she stormed off. I would not return, especially after paying the £15 optional tip to be spoken to with such an attitude over 56p was pretty surprising.

We ate here a couple years ago and it was quite good so we came back last weekend. They had all the tables sat at the same time and it was a set menu, which is fine, however it meant we were on everyone else's agenda in terms of speed of the courses etc. The food itself was not great - there was no real theme to the dishes. The 'snack' was some fried bread with an aubergine dip which was just average. The starter was a sardine and some apples in some creamy sauce, kind of bizarre and bland. The main was lamb with some moroccan cous cous, however it was served almost cold - probably because they were mass preparing for everyone in the restaurant - and also served with a pretty dull knife as well so hard to cut. The flavours were very 'ok' but nothing too exciting. When we mentioned to our server that i was cold she just got awkward and didn't apologise or do anything. Finally the dessert was some weird bun which honestly looked like a sainsbury's hot cross bun soaked in rum and served with cream with a few sultanas on top. The meal came to £200 with our bottle of wine for 3 people - all of us were left super disappointed and felt ripped off to be perfectly honest. Will not be keen to return.

My son booked this restaurant as we were down visiting. There were six of us dining with our respective partners. It sounded interesting being situated in an old garage premises. Very much a stripped back decor with benches and utility seats. We decided to try the majority of the taster style menu which came to about 12/13 small plates. Each I have to admit we’re enjoyable, the ingredients freshly cooked, our favourites we ordered more, unfortunately the haddock dish wasn’t quite the same when it came with cod as they’d run out of the former. I did order the cheese platter separately but was slightly underwhelmed by the variety and portion size. We did order a number of recommended bottles of wine all of which we drank thirstily. The evening was most enjoyable, the staff just sufficiently attentive and would recommend to anyone who hasn’t been before. The only downside and the reason I didn’t give it five stars was I felt it was overpriced for what was served.

Nice spot with great ambience, easy food, and a spectacular wine list with some really funky natural wines! Slightly pricey for what you’re getting — but a style that is (in my opinion) worth it.

I went to check this place out on Thursday evening. Didn't have loads of time, so my partner and I ordered a small selection of plates to share. I had a couple of glasses of a lovely fizzy wine and he had a few beers. Honestly, it was all delicious. To me, the prices are fair considering what they do. Their focus is on quality and freshness, the restaurant is small and they change their menu constantly. This place was recommended to us by friends who are dedicated foodies, reason for which we were excited to try it. Before going, we came to check out the reviews here and were confused by the some of the negative ones; so, we decided to go check it out ourselves and I have to say that we loved it. The food was delicious, the staff was very pleasant, and the environment was friendly and cosy. We actually really enjoyed the shared space experience because it creates a friendly environment without being forced to socialise, you have your own space which no one invades, yet it feels intimate and familiar. Also, the lighting is perfect. All in all, great experience.

Charming long tables give this a canteen feel. Menu on the board. Delightful service. Fun vibe. Great food. We are recommended to share our starter style dishes: crab on toast, courgettey buratta, sweetbreads and beetroot salad. This followed by hake and rump steak with horseradish and tomatoes. On offer are ‘natural’ wines at Chanel No 5 prices. The Gamay was the delicious but the whites mediocre; in that the acidity, length and nose were unpronounced when compared to regular interfered with wines. The Chenin is 51 pounds a bottle and so not good value for money. Trumpian in style and taste.

Although the service and atmosphere were good, the dishes were lacking flavour and were in no way acceptable for the price charged. Paying £28 for a small fish and beans dish is simply outrageous. We left and got a plate of chips in the pub down the road - they were £4.75 and just as enjoyable. Will not be coming again.

Very disappointed with how the staff managed themselves. Recommended an incredibly expensive bottle of wine without informing us and then refused to offer us compensation for £90 on wine. Very very angry and will not return. Shocking hospitality!

The decor is trendy and nice if you don’t mind sharing tables as there is not much else available. The food is pleasant but no more. Portions are tapas like but at the price of a full size dish (£22 for a small piece of fish with simple homely sauce!). Wine is also very quickly too expensive unless you go for the first choice. Overall fairly disappointed. I left hungry after spending more than £35 per person. I do not recommend.

We sat at the counter, had a delicious four course meal, great wine and our Aussie waiter was great. I trendy restaurant with down to earth staff. We asked our server what he would drink on the wine menu and he recommended a brilliant red, that wasn't expensive... He knew the menu inside out and we loved it. Going back, if we can get in :)

A sharing plate experience vibe. The plates are small. It is ridiculously overpriced. Someone is having a bubble for sure. The three inch gap at the bottom of the front door ensures a cold draught.

One of my top 3 restaurants in London. Have dined here many times and always had an amazing meal. Some great wines on offer, which are also very reasonably price. Service staff are very friendly and knowledgable.

Set in cool surrounds of a converted Motor Garage the feel of this place is relaxed cool. Overtime we have friends in town we take them here. I have never had a bad plate and sharing makes the social element complete with friends.

Took our brother and sister in law plus their 2 adult children to a birthday celebration. met by friendly and quirky staff .The menu changes daily and is a mixture of modern and eclectic European food. There is an informal approach inviting constant sharing of dishes that arrive by virtue of when they are prepared rather than a formal first and second course . The 6 of us took advantage of this to have a kind of British tapas which allowed to virtually go through the entire menu . The quality of the food was simply outstanding and very good value , The wine - a special on the night from Lazio in Italy was sulphite free and again of excellent quality .

Nobody likes to be followed around a store. There only so many times you can restock the same area walk away and return to it. I felt uncomfortable but had to make a purchase because of the way I was
