We had the roast in a pub in Battersea, while the veg was fab, the meat was shocking. Pork, chicken and duck were dry, the beef looked amazing but it could not be cut or chewed so was inedible. It was clearly not slow roasted for 9 hours! Definitely not worth your time or money ... avoid!

Went to the George and Vulture this Sunday. It was very busy with Christmas parties and the like. Great atmosphere in the pub and one of the most delicious roast dinners I've ever had. I'll definitely be back for more!!!

Bacchus Sundays roasts are great. They are in residency at my local in Hoxton (which is Howl at the Moon...but lucky for me they are also in one of my other fave pubs, George and Vulture) I'd definitely put them up there as one of my favourite roast. I usually go for the pork, it always really succulent, good bit of crackling on the side. Can't fault their potatoes and, although not usually one for my veges (much to my mums disappointment), I always end up eating all these ones... probably because they're covered in some of the most delicious gravy. Ever. Portions are decent, but I usually start with a scotch egg and always finish with a bit of cheesecake. I figure it's pretty dangerous being at the pub on a Sunday, so best to line the stomach as much as possible! (Any excuse really).

Had a great roast and a great afternoon in The Howl at the Moon, recommend Camembert followed by the Whole Damn Farm. Unless you don't eat meat, in which case the veggie seedloaf is delicious (I'm taking my girlfriend's word for it. Irish music jam session in the evening after. Awesome. I love the other Bacchus Sundays but may have found a new favourite.

Absolutely love a Bacchus Roast. I’ve been following them to different pubs around London for a few years now! The staff at the pubs are lovely too. My fave is the Whole Damn Farm, massive portions. Crispy fluffy potatoes. A great big Yorkie to mop up the gravy! Love it!!!

Absolutely tasteless! We were in the Duke of Wellington where Bacchus's roast menu takes over every Sunday. Veg roasts were sold out so we were offered a scotch egg in its place, which was the only good aspect of our meal. £15 for: -3 potato's which were not roasted, not crispy, not fluffy but very dry. -1 carrot -A few cabbage leaves -A Yorkshire pudding -A small wedge of beetroot-Scotch egg-Gravy that might as well have been water (I was hoping a good gravy could help save this dull as dishwater plate of food but did nothing!)Tasteless and expensive. The worst roast I've ever had! Perhaps they're known for their meat... which I can't comment on, however when your claiming to serve the best roasts in London AND it's the only dish on the menu AND you only cook them once a week, what I received was astonishingly bad! Feeling extremely ripped off.

Had Sunday roast delivered turned up quickly but didn't have the extra Yorkshire pud and gravy I ordered and paid for. Plenty of meat but didn't enjoy it. Sorry have most of it to my dog. Really disappointed.

Team beef team pork or whatever you chose you'll be happy. Epic scotch eggs served for a starter, runny yolks. This is a really top spot and very laid back. The best sunday lunch in London.

Set in a quirky corner of Hoxton, at the Lion & Lamb pub, this is a serious contender for best roast in London! The food is outstanding, with probably the best pork belly I've ever had in my life! Bloody Marys are particularly special too. Great service and friendly staff. Worth booking in early if you wanna get one of their famous yorkshire puddings though as they go quickly!

I was never really a big Sunday roast kinda gal, but this place has changed all that. Set in a fantastic 'space' on Hoxton street in trendy Shoreditch, Bacchus Sundays really does deliver on taste and service. They offer really interesting dishes that change frequently - from haggis scotch eggs to the more traditional chicken, pork and beef roasts. Best of all is the 'undecided' option which allows you to have a taster of all. (Plus good nut roasts for all of you veggies out there).Gorgeous flowers adorning all the tables and fab, fun service. Get down there for a Sunday lunch with a difference!

Simply the best roast I've had in London - without a doubt. Lovely atmosphere, great staff, huge room full of happy hungry people. And then came the food. Deliciously mastered. You can tell they've tried and tried and tried until they've reached perfection. You can see thw whole room turn as each plate is delivered to its intended recipient. The towering Yorkshire pudding like the halo on top of the sublime. Amazing roasties, full of flavour gravy and the beef was to die for. Perfectly coooked and packed full of flavour. Good prices too! WELL DONW BACCHUS!

Bacchus on Hoxton street was without a doubt one of the best places to go for dinner and sunday roast in East London, Lively, fun and generous. These guys clearly loved doing what they did. Having heard about the pop up in Hoxton studios I WENT TO CHECK THEM OUT AGAIN.WOW, beautiful surroundings and the perfect sunday roast. It's quite apparent these guys spend all week prepairing this feast. THE GRAVY: with so much depth and flavour it must have taken days to reduce and matureTHE BEEF: again slow roasted, melt in the mouth, subtle flavour of rosemary and thymeTHE POTATOES: crispy on the out side, fluffy on the inside, again this takes time. The attention to detail, care and love that goes into this makes it well worth a visitJIMI X

I was late to the Bacchus party and I feel bad. My first Sunday Roast at Bacchus was in the old venue, the pub and it was just before Christmas last year (2013). I immediately felt like kicking myself repeatedly as it was exactly what I've been searching London for for 5 years in terms of a delicious nut roast with the perfect garnish, tasty veggie gravy and full on Yorkshire pudding size.I was very sad to hear that the pub was closing its doors in early January as I felt like I had finally found my Sunday Roast heaven only to have it whipped away from my salivating face. However, Bacchus has been cleverly relocated just down the road in Hoxton Studios, which is even closer to my home! The standard of food has, in my opinion, become even better than it was before. The location is quirky and the staff are fun, engaging, bonkers and simply a delight every time I walk through the doors.Bacchus Sundays has become a little East London institution that is not to be missed. Get a table booked. The more, the merrier!PS - if you do the late afternoon/early evening booking, you might even catch the staff performing their favourite song. Hilarious!

Having found out that Bacchus Pub and Kitchen closed down earlier in the year we heard they were bringing their roast dinners to a pop up location just Down the road.. We went last week to the Hoxton Street Studios having booked via email (BacchusSundays@gmail.com - apparently the only way to book as no tel no!) we arrived and were greeted at the door and taken into a huge photographic studio, it felt like we'd flown to New York, very monotone and clinical but friendly staff and guests which made it more appealing. The food was sublime, just as good if not better than before although it did take a while to come out. We were kept informed and apologies were given by the attentive staff. It was only their 2nd week open so you could gforgive them! The beef was perfectly rare and the roast potatoes to die for. I would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a hangover busting feed in an interesting environment to check them out before they move on to their next location!!

Really enjoyed this place - came for a friendsmas meal and was not disappointed. Beers were a little bit expensive but it’s Broadway Market! We had the Christmas Sunday menu and I had beef - I tasted the pork belly too, though, and admittedly this was nicer.

Very rude and unprofessional staff, Food was overpriced and of poor quality. Toilets were very dirty. Not a nice experience. Felt like the chef has lost his love of his craft and you can taste it in the food. Shame as its a good location. That's the only possitive.

I visited here as a Japanese tourist. I heard this food is so nice. First, I was overwhelmed by the good selection of local Dalston beers. Eventhough, with this sublime Victorian interior!!! I didn't know what should to order, so I started with the recommended machintosh ales, maybe pale ale. For the second drink, I ordered one that many regular customers were ordering, but it was sold out. And they recommended a similar one, It was also very very nice. I wasn't hungry at that time, so the only dish I ordered was mussels escabeche, but it was also nice mariage with the beers. It was one of my best London pub experiences.
