Really enjoyed our coffee and sandwich break in this lovely cafe - great location right on the market square and super friendly service. Dog got good service too, we chose to sit outside but I think we could have taken him in. Delicious carrot cake not to be missed!!!

We went in this pleasant little deli only for a coffee, as we had just had breakfast at our B&B, and the friendly staff were really helpful. One of our group wanted their latté a bit weak, another wanted it a bit stronger so the kind lady offered to share a shot of coffee - half in one cup and 1.5 in another! In all our years of coffee drinking nobody has ever done that before! Also when we were seated and happily supping the very nice coffee, she came to check it was OK and offered to adjust them if we wanted. Now that's what I call service! It would have been nice to try some of the other tempting food on offer and next time we probably will. It was our first visit but we will make a point of returning when next in the area. Our refreshment stop set us up for the journey home (unfortunately not to Hadrian's Wall as we planned due to the foul weather). Thank you!

we only called into Alnwick for supplies on our way to Budle Bay, we had a stroll round the market place and paused for tea and coffee. seated outside in the sunny market square, we were served very quickly and pleasantly with great tea and coffee and gorgeous scones, ( £8 ) it was a good start to a great weeks holiday.

Had a much needed brew and a cheeky slice of lemon cake whilst a long walk around Alnwick. Only think the was missing was a little music to add to make a little atmosphere. Overall nice brew and slice of cake.

Stopped for coffee and cake when having a wander round the market. Nice flavour coffee and the Victoria Sandwich cake was moist and tasty. I had a Cappuccino and my husband had an Americana. We had a nice little break sat outside in the sun.

had tea and coffee while watching the world go by in a lovely sunny afternoon overlooking the square and all the activity it had to offer. Not expensive and table service.

Staff were friendly and the coffees were nice but the breakfasts we had were very plain and average. We both had a large Full English and we were both dissapointed. The sausages tasted cheap, we got halve of a hash brown on our plates and the rest of the food on the plate was barely luke warm. Judging from the rest of the reviews this may have been a one off but next time we will be trying somewhere else.

The title tells you everything you need to know an Italian deli in every sense where you can eat in or take out and get a warm welcome.

I ordered breakfast and sat down waiting for our food. The staff were disorganised and everytime a drinks order was prepared they had to ask each other who the drinks were for and what table they were sat at. Not sure why you can't make a note of table numbers? After 30 mins the food had not arrived so the girl went off to check, when she came back she just said 'the printer in the kitchen didn't print your order off' no apology offered! I got my money back and went elsewhere.

Not a lot of choice but their panini's are top notch with high quality Italian fillings. Great value for money if you are taking out.

A bit cramped, maybe too many seats inside. If can sit outside that would be great but it was chucking it down with rain when we visited! Had fab cap to drink, pals had lattes. Coffee was SO good. Biscuit was nice, cake was simply too big. I think they should just do smaller slices. Two of us couldn't finish our shared slice! There were also people having fizz and deli tasting platters which looked yum. Efficient service. Will go back to also try the ice creams, had a great selection. Only downside is they didn't let customers use the toilet and I feel if you are eating in, you should have a loo to use. There is a loo across the market place but I don't think that is cool to have to go over there in the middle of your lunch or whatever. Despite this will definitely return.

Coffee was lovely with fantastic sweet biscuits. You could taste the difference from 'high street' chains that I usually frequent. Would recommend for anyone wishing to visit a little piece of Italy in Alnwick

We sat outside in the sun watching the world go by and enjoyed Italian drinks while waiting for the busy staff to bring us a most delicious and plentiful antipasti to share. Excellent value with four different meats, cheese, sundried tomatoes, more olives than we could eat, ciabatta loaf with oil & balsamic vinegar dip. Coffee and small cakes for a finale. If they are busy it is worth waiting. We will hope to go again.

We stopped here several times as we wandered round the lovely old town of Alnwick. The weather was hot and sunny and we were able to sit outside, watch the world go by and enjoy what we considered to be the best coffee in town. The pastries/cakes that we tried were delicious, and I'm only sorry that we didn't have time to try their yummy-looking paninis. Visit here, you won't be disappointed.

A lovely, cool little deli / cafe. The seating area outside provides a relaxing opportunity to watch the world go by; especially on a warm summer's day. The menu combines a nice mix of Italian and English. The descriptions make you salivate before you decide which one of the delicious dishes you'll try. I ordered a warm panini (sorry, this isn't exactly what they called it) with Gorgonzola cheese, grilled sun dried tomatoe and rocket. They also provided a few salad leaves as an accompaniment and interestingly a small dish containing balsamic vinegar and olive oil; which also had a herb in it but I'm not sure what - prob basil / oregano. The panini dipped into the oil mix made this the nicest sandwich I've ever had. I'll definitely be trying this one with friends and family. The owner was Italian - very friendly and there was also a young woman who seemed to be Italian - authentic!

We called into Prima early one Sunday morning to enjoy a coffee and a hot chocolate. We were so impressed with the menu and deli bits in the fridge, we bought a picnic for our visit to Alnwick Castle (which was superb). Our panins and salad were both lovely. We also bought a selection of pastries to enjoy for desserts which were all delicious. All round a great little authentic Italian cafe.

This is a little Italian Cafe & Deli in the market square in Alnwick and they have a few tables and chairs outside. They serve fine coffee and (what's probably overlooked) is a selection of delicious little Italian pastries. Well worth a visit.

There is absolutely nothing to fault at the Prima Deli. This is a must visit when you go to Alnwick. I very rarely tip, but I did today. The food was excellent, and in terms of value for money it could not be faulted. Only £4 for an Italian style pannini with a helping of olives and salad on the side. Even the coffee was excellent, and only £1.45 for a large cup. I have just seen Mojo1997's review and wondered if they were reviewing a completely different establishment. Readers, please believe me, and visit ASAP.

Its a deli- great for coffee, snacks, pastries, ice cream and buying speciality goods, good with slices of pizza and pasta. Lovely as a Deli coffee house but its not a restaurant of cafe that serves chips, bacon etc .Been with friends. solo and in couple. Its small inside, more tables outside in nice weather. no room for kids or buggies - not the sort of place I would take a young child.Gets busy with people in for take aways as well as sit down. Always fine when I have been before.Nicer coffee that costa and better value as well.

This place is not a nice place for people to go to. The staff were completely incompetent mixing up people's orders, and in fact they accused the customers of ordering the wrong items as opposed to realising their own mistakes. There were no apologies either. They were simply bad mannered and disrespectful of their paying customers. The staff had a clear dislike of the manager and owner of the premeses and there was a bad atmosphere and attitude all around. Unfortunately when the correct food finally arrived there was no room On the tiny table to put it either. A complete waste of money and a ruination of what could have been a great afternoon.
