Prezzo - Oswestry in Shropshire

Quick polite service. Although the place was quite empty at 4pm Good Friday.

I visited as part of a group on a Thursday night. To my surprise the restaurant was very full, a good sign. Staff were very attentive and did a great job. Unfortunately then it went wrong, a long wait for food, I had ordered Penne Arrabiata with added chicken, 2 small straps for an extra £3. When it arrived it was at best slightly warm, not impressed by the food at all.overpriced and low quality, not what was expected. I won't be returning any time soon

Had a brilliant experience in Oswestry Prezzo recently. Food was really nice and the services was so friendly and accommodating. Especially as we were with a 15-month old baby who was able to explore a bit as the restaurant was quiet.

What a lovely restaurant! We have eaten at Prezzo Oswestry a few times now and each time the food and service has been first class. This time the food tasted particularly incredible, absolutely superb so big shout out to the chef! A special mention also to Ebonii and Mirka who served our table and who were so happy and helpful, they take a pride in their job and can't do enough to help. A total credit to Prezzo, they deserve a big shout out.

I truly wish that I hadn't visited this restaurant. It was without any shadow of doubt the worst meal I have ever had. Spaghetti with Devon crab, garlic, chilli, and parsley. The garlic was raw, and there were at least 3 cloves in the meal. No parsley and raw onion topped off with rocket. I expected better food from such a well-known establishment. Perhaps a meal from the grill would have been a better bet. I'm sorry, Prezzos, but I will not be returning.

A warm and welcoming restaurant. The customer service was exceptional, with the Restaurant Manager offering light-hearted humour whilst taking orders. The food was hot, tasty and well presented. The cost of the meal was relatively well priced and I will definitely revisit this restaurant in the not too distant future and without hesitation recommend a visit to this restaurant. Thanks to all the team for making our visit enjoyable.

Visited with my partner for a meal on the weekend. It was very Busy the staff were very welcoming and the service was great but the service we felt We were rushed we were in and out within an hour. We have our food before our drinks and the food was on the table within minutes of ordering. Not what you want when you pay good money. The main meal was beautiful but the dessert was a bit of a let down even thought it looked lovely myself and partner ordered cheesecake and I was frozen, we ordered cheesecake not ice cream cake.

A very expensive meal. Beer £7.00 a pint and setvice charge £11.85, an American scam. + very busy so Calzone pastry under cooked. Have been there many times probably not again, disappointed.

I have not been to the restaurant since before covid so I was shocked at the change in the experience. The cost of the individual food selection are very expensive, the drinks are over priced. The quality of food for these prices is poor. The staff were good probably the best thing in the whole experience. The worst part of this visit was the fact that we only had cash on us to pay a very expensive bill which included 6% service charge. This cash was refused and we were told that it is card payment only which was not confirmed on booking the table. I will never return to any venue that refuses legal tender in this country. It made us feel like a criminal in front of other diners this practice needs to stop. A member of staff in the end offered to take our cash and pay our bill on her own personal card. Fair play to her but really it’s a disgrace to our country that venue want our business but not our cash shame on you.

Disappointing! Very impersonal and small portions.

Situated on main Street, location ideal for just popping in. We booked online and had a complimentary bottle of Prosecco which was perfect. Authentic Italian food with an extensive menu, would suit all tastes and choices. Ambience of restaurant warm and friendly.

Very enjoyable, nice evening with the granddaughter's.

2nd time coming here since we moved to the area, amazing food both times, very quick service and our server Ebonii was very polite and efficient! We will definitely be returning

Definitely exceeded our expectations - chose the restaurant as was practical location and have had good experience with Prezzo in other locations. Manager was serving as was a quiet lunch period - he looked after us all but particularly helped ensure my 89 year old Mum enjoyed her birthday.

Ah a bad night tonight. Food was okay, acceptable but not great. The service was awful. Very slow, and a bit disorganized. Our first time to this Prezzo and not sure we will be back. Full disclaimer, they did give us a small discount for the wait, but overall still not good value for money and came away disappointed.

Best place in town for a meal. Staff are really friendly and welcoming. It has a nice atmosphere and has a warm atmosphere plus good food is always a bonus. I've read negative reviews about service charge and how people are annoyed that it's there, but these guys are worth it. They go above and beyond for their customers and do a lot of work behind the scenes that us as guests don't always see. Plus, if you don't want to pay service charge, just ask to take it off! It literally says it at the bottom of your bills!

Good for atmosphere and service but they don't know how to make a Bruschetto which was served on a pizza base and didn't taste right. It should have been crispy on the outside and soft in the centre. Also a lot of the plates that food was served on were cold. I wasn't impressed with Rigatoni main meal. Drinks were a rip off , so were over priced.

Great to see that Oswestry's Prezzo Italian restaurant is still very much alive and still going.... Always used to bring my kid's here for weekend lunches, dinners or pizza and pudding/icecream treats. Fantastic warm, cosy and elegantly decorated. A big proper pizza/bread oven at the end of the dining area adds to a warm, relaxed atmosphere and the smells emanating from the oven increases ones appetite. The staff are very welcoming, friendly, helpful, attentive, knowledgeable and cater to your dining choices with a big smile. My Chicken and Prosciutto Focaccia sandwich with thin crispy fries was all freshly made and very delicious. The Italian coffee is one of the best I've had in and around Oswestry. My Americano standard cup came with a small separate pot of warm milk in a porcelain jug and it was perfectly prepared. Owen the assistant manager was fantastic and has come through the Prezzo Team career training and certainly knows how to make you feel comfortable and relaxed. A big thank you and shout out to OWEN for making my return visit here a very enjoyable experience! Recommend this Italian restaurant although might be advisable to book a table if you're planning to visit over the weekend as this is their busiest period.

I visted prezzo oswestry the other night with my family, Service was great. It seemed very busy but I’m not suprised as it was a saturday night. I got greeted by what seemed to be the manager, he is very charming and probably one of the most attractive men ive seen in oswestry in a while! Tall dark and handsome. The girls i came across were lovely and made us feel very welcome I unfortunately did not get their names… the food arrived in a reasonable amount of time as it was busy but we were not fussed. We were handed the bill and we gave it a good read, it does state clearly in black and white that there is an optional service charge, as i was reading past reviews of people not knowing about this I’m a tad confused as to why when it literally states it at the bottom of the bill. Will definitely be back!

Prezzo Oswestry is one of mine and my Husbands all time favourite places to go out to eat! Not just for the food but the service as well and the whole atmosphere of the night! We always see the same staff there which is comforting. The girls who serve us (Katie, Charley and Ebonii) can never do enough for us. Side note - I also love the fact that Prezzo have an optional service charge on the bottom of the bill, and that the staff always draw my attention too it no matter how many times I visit. Servers get paid for doing their jobs but the staff in Prezzo Oswestry go over the top to please, so they deserve the option of making the customers aware they can tip. Especially in this cashless society we all now live in.

The food was good, a bit overpriced in my opinion but perfectly fine. The staff were nice, took a bit of time for my friend to get his drink. But the tip was automatically added onto the bill. This isn't the US, it should be the customers choice, I'm surprised it's legal to just add charges to your bill. I'm not against tipping as such, but I think it's VERY cheeky to automatically add it onto your bill without even mentioning it. For that reason I'm unlikely to return. They probably would have taken it off if we asked but my point is I very much see this as underhand.

I gave been to this restaurant for many years as the food is always spot on and they look after the little ones with crayons and plenty of drawing to keep them entertained. The owners are very experienced and the decor has won awards in oswestry. Highly recommended.

We went here on our final night of our honeymoon. Weren't sure what to expect however the moment we walked in through the door we were impressed. The atmosphere was calm and welcoming. We told the waitress we were on honeymoon and she asked where did we want to be seated. We asked for a quiet corner. We were shown to our table and handed menus and placed a drinks order. These were delivered 2 or 3 minutes later. We placed our food order and again this was swifly delivered. We were able to watch our meals be cooked. The waitress lit out candle on our table to give us a more romantic atmosphere. The lady spoke in a soft sweet voice and was very helpful and very enthusiastic. All the staff seemed lovely and worked well together and were always smiling. This was a great restaurant in all aspects and could imagine it would be a nice place to work as everyone seemed so friendly. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants to enjoy genuine quality Italian food in a warm welcoming environment.

Unfortunately as a big chain they do not take cash. This is a shame that in modern times customers can’t have a choice. No wonder they are closing stores.

Myself, my partner and our 2 children booked a table for 6pm last Saturday, it was quite busy due to being the balloon carnival however service was excellent and all the staff were most attentive to us and the children. The food was lovely and so was the wine, the children were shown the pizza oven and given chef hats which they loved!! Thank you all, we will be back.

So glad we chose to go to Prezzo. Beautiful food, staff were great and it was a great atmosphere... couldnt ask for more. Manager was fabulous.... a great example for the rest of the staff to follow! So attentive, never stood still.🥰

Good food, ordered the new green pasta with Pesto. Was good however not worth the price, would reccomend picking another option. Ordered with added chicken however got very little. Staff were amazing, really lovely. Would return but not for the same dish.

Excellent tasting food, well presented and it arrived in a timely manner. The staff was very efficient and I was given the same attention as a bigger table. I will come again.

The first time we have been to Prezzo for many years and just glad we used our Taste card,many of the main meals are £17.50,a pint of beer just under £7 and then you ask for the bill and they have already put a service charge on and ask you would you like us to remove it,also as we had our two garlic bread starters with our main meals they are then classed as extras so you have to pay the full price.Well that is my moan still can not believe some one would come to Oswestry and pay £17.50 for a meal here.Well for food we had Lasagne,garlic bread and chips the food was very warm and tasty and service to match.

Very poor service. Lack of staff and didn’t actually get the food as we walked out. Never again. No wonder Prezzo are failing on the high street if this is anything to go by. Went to the bakery across the street and had a great meal with great service for half the price!!

Went here with my daughter and family for my grandsons birthday tea. The staff were very welcoming and the place was very clean. I noticed online before going at the menu and no prices were shown on the lists. Orders taken, the food took quite a long time to come considering there was only one other small table there. The food was of good quality, nicely presented and well cooked. Everyone enjoyed their meals. I, personally, found the prices to be quite expensive, As this was where my grandson wanted to go for his birthday, I paid up and smiled.

We have dined at Prezzo Oswestry many times over the past few years. The restaurant staff are always welcoming and the food very good! If you’re local or visiting, highly recommended

Food & service both good. We ate at lunchtime during the week . There were only a few other diners, so it was a quiet, but relaxed atmosphere.

My favourite place to eat out! Not the cheapest but worth every penny! We have been for lunch which was great as there weren’t many customers and it was a very quiet environment, and we have been during the evening when it is busier and still had a lovely time. The food is always amazing! Service time is dependent on how busy they are but the food is worth the wait anyway. Also great that Tesco club card vouchers can be used against the bill

A visit to Prezzos in Oswestry - my first for a few years. I had experienced poor and very slow service in the past and that had stopped me from going again. This time the service was so much better in fact just as you would want it - The servers were very good. Food quality was good and very enjoyable. Time has marched on and so have Prezzos prices - £7.95 for four squares of fried Mozarella - very nice to eat at approx £1.00 per mouthful ! Main courses are no different - Carbonara £15.50 - I know the wheat prices have gone up mainly due to the war in Ukraine, but ......... 10% service charge added to the bill (optional -but already in print when the tab is presented is something I object to ) Happy to reward good service always but at my discretion. Maybe I am losing touch with reality when looking at prices ? I don't think so as my recent visits to other restaurants would indicate that Prezzos are a bit above what I would expect to pay. Note - cash is not accepted at Prezzos - card payments only

Visited Prezzo in Oswestry once again for a delicious lunch. This is an excellent restaurant, conveniently located in the centre of town, with charming staff. Katie looked after us with humour and professionalism. Will definitely return again on our next visit to Oswestry.

I was worried about going here due to some of the reviews but I can honestly say the food was amazing, really tasty! There were 12 of us and all the meals and sides came out together and they were all piping hot. The service was excellent and the place was very clean and tidy. I would defo recommend Prezzo to anyone wanting to go for a nice meal out in Oswestry and can’t wait to go back myself 😁

I went for a date night to prezzo’s oswestry and I couldn’t fault anything about my experience here. The staff were quick at taking our order despite how busy it was, always busy and very polite and helpful. I had the spaghetti and king prawns and my boyfriend had the chicken Alfredo tagliatelle. We both thoroughly enjoyed our meals and couldn’t fault the service, the food or the place. Both meals were piping hot and had plenty of it. Good value for money for 2 courses and drinks, we will definitely be back

I always like this Prezzo because the staff are particularly friendly and welcoming. It is decent value if you use a voucher or offer, of which there are many online.

Overall we had an enjoyable evening here. The food was more Than acceptable although a lile I have to agree with the issues regarding payment being card only. When gratuities applied To The bill, then this for me is a service charge rather than a tip. Tips are something personal between The customer and server for good friendly service. I would prefer her To have cash in hand.

My partner brought me here for Valentine’s day. We’re from London and we came to stay in Oswestry for a night. They made our evening very special, everyone was so kind and attentive. The decor was lovely and fun! In light of Valentine’s day, roses were being given out to the ladies. Food and cocktails were perfect.

Nothing wrong with the food or service, but there’s a very odd mouldy/fusty smell through some of the restaurant. It’s been there a while too, seems odd they’ve not addressed it.

Such a disappointment. There were hardly any vegan options, and the food arrived lukewarm, both waitresses we told didn’t seem to care in any way. We were then pretty much ignored until we left. So overpriced for what you get.

Food was good. Lots of choices, but still very expensive for what it is. Drinks are great. Staff are very polite and helpful. 10% Service charge now added as an option.

Always going above and beyond, this place is clean and welcoming, with well spaced tables and a seasonally shifting menu. The pizza is the closest to italian between Shrewsbury and Chester too.

Wow, Prezzo must now be one of the most expensive restaurants in Oswestry. My wife and I eat out in town roughly once a week. Nothing fancy, two mains and a house red. Tonight I paid just short of £60. Just over a week ago we paid £44 for two pizzas and a house red in another respectable restaurant in town. The last time we ate here, just before the school holidays we paid just under £50 for the same as we paid £60 tonight. That’s a 20% rise. Just to rub salt in the wound, they also now automatically add a 10% service charge. There are a lot of places to eat in Oswestry where you can get better for less. Prezzo are offering a chain pizza restaurant experience but are trying to command fine dining prices. The service and food were fine. I have no complaints about the staff but the prices are ridiculous for Oswestry. As I’ve mentioned already, better is available for way less. Be interesting to see whether Prezzo join the long list of restaurants who haven’t survived is Oswestry if these prices are maintained.

We always have a good experience here. Roy is really welcoming and his chefs cook really good food from starter to main.

The place looked really nice as we first walked in. The food was okay, unfortunately the longer you sat down and looked around that is when you notice how dirty and dusty the place is. The place needs a good clean.

Very disappointed, lip sick on wine glasse, table crammed together, food gave the impression it was prepackaged. Over priced and they had the cheek to put 10% service charge on the bill. Not a good example of an Italian restaurant.

Very busy when we arrived but very accommodating. Told us we'd have to wait 30 minutes for food which wasn't a problem for us but once we'd ordered it was on the table in less than 15! Hard working staff were attentive and accommodating and the food was delicious.

We were waited on by Tom who was extremely attentive and nothing was too much trouble. He also had a good sense of humour!! He doted on our 18 month old grand daughter. The food was excellent and piping hot. Highly recommend.

An Italian restaurant without Italians. We found the service, the card, the food rather mediocre. The choice of pizzas is limited. We ordered the 'House mix of green and black olives' but only got the green ones. In short: mediocre.

They got the order wrong! I ordered Chicken Tagliatelle; got a Tagliatelle... without any Chicken!!! The Chef forget to put the chicken in!!! 😡 The order that went to the kitchen was correct, I checked as I wanted to know where in the chain it went wrong.

I highly advise you don't eat here, 90% of the time the chicken is out of date and absolutely stinks. Majority of the food comes in frozen/premade and then you're charged 10x the amount it's bought in for. Also a dead mouse was found behind a freezer a few months back. (See profile photo)

Went to prezzo tonight for a meal with my friend thought we would give it a try. Sadly dissapointed Meal was quite expensive for what is was very small portions. When the bill came we were told there was a service charge added of £5.28 pence. Not a chance if I was leaving a £5 tip I would expect excellent food along with service. 😞. Sorry prezzo will not be returning.

Staff are amazing, the place was slightly dirty/dusty the food very like a mac Donald versión of Italian food. If all Prezzo are like this i do not recommend

Nearly every year on our anniversary me and my partner have come to Oswestry Prezzo for a meal to celebrate. We have also been here for my brother in laws 50th birthday meal. I find on a lunch time visit it is less busy and staff are super accommodating. The meals are amazing on the lunch menu and the wait for our food is short. We have also been on an evening which has which has been again great service and foot all be it quite busy. When we had the birthday meal for my brother in law the management was not as accommodating as we expected and also there were a few orders that came out wrong but we enjoyed ourself none the less, as we were a party of around 30 people. Both me and my partner have been back since to celebrate another anniversary during the lunch time period and the management didn't fail to be nothing short of amazing. In summary this prezzo is amazing during the lunch time and good on the evening just alot busier during evening times can lead to simple mistakes which the staff are happy to rectify easy enough.

Weekend away 12th March and with a wedding on at the hotel decided on Prezzo at the last minute. Wow what a fabulous pizza never had such a good pizza and a glass of Prosecco to go with it. Will definitely visit again. Also staff were extremely friendly and service was good

I went to Prezzo in Oswestry in October 2021 and had a lovely meal. Went back this month and we were very disappointed. Our starter took 45 mins and then the main another 45 mins. I don’t mind waiting for food as I know things are difficult at the moment with staffing etc. But from what we saw they were taking on far too many takeaway orders which left paying customers in the restaurant waiting for food. When the food arrived the pizzas were dry and burnt on the bottom. My partner had to go up to the bar to order drinks as we had asked twice and no one took our order at the table. Overall, a disappointing visit and won’t be going back again.
