Prezzo in Cambridge

We were looking forward to our meal as the menu looked good. We arrived 15 mins early and were greeted by a member of staff incorrectly saying my name then staff being ushered off our table to enable us to sit down. We waited almost half an hour to be served. The food arrived really quickly and was delicious but the service was shocking. We paid, were finishing our drinks and chatting (only 1 hour 15 mins after our early arrival) , we were told our table was needed in 2 mins! We felt so rushed at the end, despite waiting so long to be served in the first place. The restaurant needs to improve it's service urgently. It's chaotic- we were served by 5 different members of staff throughout our meal!

We arrived for our bottomless brunch a little earlier than expected, and thought we would just check if our table.was ready, otherwise we would be happy to wait. We were met by a very rude and miserable waitress, on taking our booking name proceeded to tell us the table booking was for 4, this was untrue as had been for 6, she repeated numerous times, the system says 4. We explained that there were now only 5 but the booking was definitely for 6, and a confirmation had been received. She promptly disappeared for 5 minutes and then returned asking incredibly abruptly, "do you have the confirmation" to which we showed her, no apology, just plenty of huffs and "well the system says it's 4" her manner was very much that we were not welcome and everything was too much effort for her. She did find us a table, but again moaned that she'd had to change everything and if a table of 10 came in, that it.would be a problem. After a discussion between ourselves, we felt we were not going to enjoy ourselves here and why stay where we are clearly not wanted. We left and went to pas iguanas, we were greeted with such warmth and our amazing waiter showed us what customer service is really like. Prezzo need to have a look at their waitresses and send them to last iguanas to show them how to up their game. We will not return.

Had eaten here before and were very satisfied with welcome, service, ambiance, food and wine. On this occasion, only the food hit the spot. Welcome was poor and cold. It then took ages for a waitress to take our order and only after our prompting. Food took too long to come and order was not complete. It then took ages for us to be able to pay, despite our request twice. We will not bother again.

We had a dinner there with my wife. We were very happy with the service, who made us feel welcome and who, when it came to paying, made sure we used a voucher we forgot we had. The food was nice as well. My wife liked her chicken, and my truffle burger was tasty too. My only complaint would be that the bun was cold, which is the only reason I didn't give a full rating. However, we will definitely be back.

Friendly welcome and comfortable ambience. My food was poor. I chose a ravioli that was barely warm. It was said to have spinach and squash in it but it was so beige that I could not discern any vegetables as advertised. I had a pleasant lunch with my friend but did not make a good menu choice.

Unapproachable waitresses. Disappointed in our experience at prezzo this afternoon. The main waitress - not sure of her name - but she was sitting people to their tables and also bringing food to tables too. She was very abrupt with us, very unapproachable and I felt that she did not want to take care of our table. Maybe she was having a bad day but I do think that it makes a huge difference if you are met with a smile and treated well or not. Very disappointing.

Been in Cambridge for the past few weeks with my husband, been to a few places to eat. This place has really nice food and lovely staff, waiting a little long for food but worth it.

Pleasantly surprised by the experience, didn’t have very high hopes after reading the numerous bad reviews on TA but thought we would try it, as the location is great. We were all very tired after a busy day sightseeing and punting so we were very pleased when the food came quickly. We were a group of 3 Adults and 5 kids all under 11. Kids menu is good and reasonable value. The rest of the food was very tasty. The waitress was lovely, very patient with the kids and happy to make some changes. Overall value not great as quite expensive but no worse than the other chains like pizza express. All in all a very good experience.

DIABOLICAL. Terrible service. We arrived at this place at 12 o’clock and ordered nearly straight away, our starters then took about 45 minutes to get to us which was only a garlic bread . The toilets weren’t the cleanest ever and a bit wrank. Some of the staff were alright but a few were really really rude. The don’t accept Tesco vouchers anymore. And our banana was greener than a football Pitch . Pizza was decent but that was it. Ashamed. Nice day out apart from this

When we turned up we were taken in a sidedoor behind the bar to be shown to our seats which were next to the bar. The bar area had boxes of wine/alcohol stacked around it with a bin for empty bottles right by our table in front of the bar. Our drinks were prepared and sat on the bar for 10 mins plus with ice melting before they were brought the 2 steps to our table. The toilets and queue for them are immediately behind the food servery!! A member of staff was eating a pizza off the food servery while dinners were being stacked there for customers! In my opinion the restaurant was poorly managed with questionable hygiene practices. Why would I want to pay £100 plus for a meal celebrating my daughter's A level results in an area that felt like a storeroom....As a result we took no photos, ate as quickly as possible and went elsewhere for coffee and dessert. In addition we were told on arrival that Tesco vouchers are no longer accepted there and it is card only. Neither of which points were on the website or conveyed to me when I booked. Thankfully we had decided against using clubcard vouchers and had taken up the birthday free prosecco voucher I had. Needless to say it will be the last money I ever spend in Prezzo! The only positive was the food, but given the state of the environment it was served in I dread to think what the kitchen was like and won't risk eating there again in a city full of lovely, more deserving restaurants!

A very mediocre and overpriced meal, the chicken was as tough as leather. Portions were small and all food was underwhelming. The toilets, located right by the kitchen, are an absolute disgrace. Filthy and toilet paper strewn everywhere. I imagine this restaurant is frequented by many overseas and UK tourists due to its location right by the river and I dread to think what sort of impression this gives to these visitors. The staff were very pleasant, bar the negative and unfriendly greeting we received upon arrival. We should have walked out at that point. Cramped tables. There are many lovely restaurants in Cambridge and I will certainly not be visiting this one again, nor will I be recommending it.

Really dissatisfied by this visit , the male manager, I believe, was so out right rude I had to leave before I'd even received my drinks . We were not offered water for our table after being in the restaurant for 20 - 30 minutes, I asked politely if some could be brought over or if my drink order was on its way , and I was told in these words , to go and sit down . I left and I will not be returning until head office addresses this as I can see its a repeated problem from the reviews on here .

We had an awful experience and do not recommend going to this restaurant! The food was not very good, especially for the price, and it took a long time to arrive at the table. But more importantly the service really ruined our evening. The personnel were very rude, especially one server who spoke very aggressively to us when we asked her a question. And they didn't seem to care at all that we were having a bad experience or try to help in any way. We all left angry and disappointed, and we will not be going back there ever again.
