Pret a Manger in Portsmouth

As normal, nothing wrong en decent staff. seating is good and quick service. Food and drinks are good as well. Lots to choose.

This is the first time i have participated in eating in Pret A Manger. I found there to be a very limited selection for vegans and the prices were extortionate. In additon to the already extortionate pricings, the additional inclusive pricing for sitting in was just insult to injury! At the prices youre already charging, sitting in should be a given and not extra! If youre going to charge such extortionate prices for seating then at least make sure the seats you are charging for are well maintained and not like something someone found in a dumpster! The food was average for a sandwich shop yet they charge restaurant prices. I wont be going there again!

I find it beyond compression that every item purchased has a service charge added. There is absolutely no service at all. You choose what you would like to purchase, queue to pay and order your drinks, I was eating in and paid for this privilege , I asked for a plate. No. I was given 1 very thon serviette and then queued again to collect my coffee which , despite paying to eat in was served in a paper cup. Nice sandwich and nice coffee but guess what? Clear your table yourself. Where is the service I paid extra for? Definitely won't eat there again

Terrible service. I ordered a coffee and stated I wanted oat milk when I was given coconut milk I explained that this was the wrong milk and I was allergic and politely asked for it to be changed I was then shouted at and told that I had ordered the wrong milk, when I definitely wouldn’t have due to my allergy. When my new drink was then brought I was shouted at again by another member of staff who told me this was not my drink and to wait. I feel disgusted by this experience and will not be coming back. I have avoided Pret for years since the loss of Natasha Ednan-Laperouse and still will not eat here but braved getting a drink. I have been disgraced by this experience and it has made me very anxious ans I will not be coming back.

Had an almond croissant which was raw in the middle of this isn’t the first time for some reason they don’t cook the croissants properly very disappointed

staff at Portsmouth were unorganised and showed a lack of professionalism when dealing with orders. to start with, the queue was random and there was no structure as to who was being served when. once I arrived at the till the staff were unfriendly and showed a lack if enthusiasm to do their job. After placing my order, I waited for my tea and coffee while my daughter sat at our table. as soon as my order was ready to collect, the cashier held it back until I caught on and requested for it, keep in mind that this was only happening to me. I am very disappointed with the service I experienced today

We got there a couple of minutes after 3 p.m. Shop was closed! Midweek closing 3 p.m!! The shop next door selling coffee and cornish pasties was doing a roaring trade! Disappointed.

In the late nineties/early 2000's Pret was superb. Would get my breakfast or lunch from them most days. Then they expanded into an empire with a branch on every corner seemingly, took out EAT as a competitor (who were so much better) and have now lost their way. Typified with their coffee. I brought a skinny latte from here and it was so disappointing. £2.75 for poor quality coffee-flavoured milk. Pret coffee use to be so good, now it make Starbucks UK coffee taste half-decent.... But it was busy and lots of people were handing their money over, service was good so I suspect they won't change. But sorry, I just don't think they are as good as they use to be...

the ingredients werent clear very small writing dont like onions so just took them out very nice bread and filling.

Visited here today and was greeted by the most amazing smile and welcoming staff member. His name was Raul. He was attentive and efficient and made the experience of what is normally a rushed service in these kind of places so much better. Such a refreshing change and one that deserved a mention to the manager. Give this guy a promotion Pret a Manger and encourage this type of service more. Make him the face of the company. That smile will welcome even the most miserable to come to your stores. Thank you Raul

I had my usual turmeric latte and almond croissant and it was delicious as always and the drinks were made quickly. Impressed with covid precautions in place.

Popped in quickly for a free vegan croissant they were offering. Would really recommend it if you are vegan or have a dairy allergy as it was delicious and I will be returning. One of the staff members was unaware of the offer they were running though. Clean store and pleasant staff.

I usually go here at Gunwharf before going to ther cinema. My only problem with this place is that you have to have cress in the egg sandwich and they don't do it without cos i have asked. I still love it and the coffee is lovely,

Counter service, served quickly . Only had coffee. Good coffee. A welcome refreshment break. Clean and tidy. Tables cleaned quickly.

I had a tea out with family. I ordered tea infusion lemon and ginger but was not infusion. I am disappointed.

Stopped for a brew and a breather whilst doing a spot of shopping at Gunwharf, lovely cup of tea and a cheeky chewy cookie to stave off my hunger until lunch. Friendly staff, plenty of empty, clean tables to choose from, I admit not the cheapest place to choose from at Gunwharf but certainly a relaxing and comfortable option.

Staff were rude, when asking for a hot chocolate their reply was "we don't have any hot chocolate". No sorry, or apology of any sort. Then when we went to sit down with a family member who bought a coffee the staff member just stared at us the whole time like we weren't welcome. Won't return again.

Alimentos que se esperan de su Pret típico con suficiente stock y en los estantes durante una parada por la tarde. Durante nuestra parada, nadie estaba esperando en el mostrador. El servicio para nosotros incluyó al personal que tomó los artículos, colocándolos en la parte posterior del estante detrás de ellos y fuera de nuestro alcance, tomando el dinero y luego caminando para limpiar el equipo, dejándonos esperando nuestros artículos comprados. Servicio muy peculiar.

Entró en esta tienda para un almuerzo ligero.¡La calidad, el sabor y la frescura de los sándwiches que comimos fueron excelentes! También tuve la sopa fresca de guisantes y menta, que también fue excepcional.La tienda era luminosa y limpia y el personal claramente trabajó duro para lograr lo que creo que era un excelente nivel de servicio.Muy feliz de hecho. Definitivamente visitaré de nuevo.

特に朝だからといってお得なセットがあるわけではないのですが寄ってみました。クロワッサンとアーモンドクロワッサンは焼きたてで美味しかったです。お手洗いも店内にあり、座席数も多く、寛げるお店です。

Just stopped here for a snack and coffee’s. Very clean tables and welcoming smiling staff at the counter. Free tap water which was welcomed. Our fresh salads were lovely and the warm Danish pastry finished the meal off perfectly.

Plenty of seating, some outside. Always good food and drink. Free water available for you to help yourself. The best hot choc from anywhere.

Hemos utilizado P A M en todas partes en Inglaterra. Siempre bueno, con buena comida y personal confiado. El viernes pasado llamamos al restaurante Gunwharf alrededor de las 5 pm y realmente no tenían mucha comida. Unos rollitos de ensaladas y tartas. Le pregunté si todo lo que tienen y me dijeron que es el final del día y todo lo que queda. Me di cuenta de que solo he usado pret desde la madrugada en los aeropuertos hasta probablemente a las 2 pm del día. Me gusta que otros clientes tuvieran que ir a otro lado.

Stopped here for dinner the other night and it was worth every moment. My satisfactions were made when the lovely food we ordered was brung to our table, we were served by a lovely young scottish lady who presented herself well and brought us our food as quickly as she could. Places like this need more workers like her

Being right at the entrance to Gunwharf Quays we expected this Pret to be busy and it was. However, the staff were efficient and kept the service flowing. Food and coffee good so quite happy with our first visit!

A nice spot with some good coffee, sandwiches and warm fruit biscuits. We stopped here for refreshment prior to visiting Victory and Mary Rose. A good place to do so.

I used Prets a lot for sandwich lunches when I worked in the City of London. Despite recent allergy scares I still support the firm as the food is fresh and prepared on the premises each day and never carried over to the next day. Short wait at the counter for service after collecting our food and soups. A very wide choice of food here and a choice of higher chairs and tables or armchairs and lower tables. Spotless unisex loos, if a bit damp. Food filling and good and soup fresh and warm. Nice to see they have helped 400 homeless people get employment in 2018. My wife`s coffee was a little weak and £17 bill was a tad expensive for a sandwich and soup lunch, but you are paying for quality.

I have visited many times and the staff are always pleasant and helpful. Coffee is good and Pret pain au raisin are the best anywhere - including France!

Came here yesterday during a shopping trip to refuel. Upon entering, the first thing we noticed was the chaos of people haphazardly queuing in a strange gaggle around the counter and tables/chairs strewn everywhere, covered in rubbish. My boyfriend went to grab a soup to find the fridges and shelves were almost empty! This was just shy of 14:30 on a Saturday afternoon, mind. Long before they should’ve begun to deplete their stock.

Lots of people and you have to wait for a free table but good value for the money and nice food and coffee.

Entré en Pret para un bocado rápido a la hora del almuerzo. Una tarde muy ocupada, pero logró encontrar una mesa.

Ayer, muy decepcionado con el café blanco, la presentación fue apresurada, ¡podría haber sido cualquier café! Muy decepcionado con la envoltura demasiado, muy seca y rancia, no se la comió todo.

I really enjoyed my brief visit to Pret at 0930am. Very few people, a good selection of sandwiches that were healthy, really tasty and well priced. The service was good also

Nos reunimos aquí con la familia para despedirnos antes de regresar al norte. Pedimos café y comida. . . La cola fue larga, pero después de 5 minutos se sirvió. Un miembro del personal nos despidió por sentarnos en una mesa que no se había limpiado aún después de que otros clientes se hubieran sentado jajaja. Gran personal, buen café y buena comida.

Went for a spot to eat service is going as fast as they can but tables not cleaned after customers leave they need to be wiped down and could not see this being done enough.

Sorry to read other comments about dirty tables, am a bit socked as I have always thought the Pret ethos was a good thing as far as companies go.

Très bonne découverte de ce resto où on y mange du fait maison, frais. Une partie libre service déjà emballée, à emporter ou à consommer sur place, service chaud au comptoir. Le sucré est très bon. Resto propre et aéré, petite terrasse. Rapport qualité prix impeccable

Really disappointed with my recent visit, wanted a place to refresh and revive following a lengthy walk around Portsmouth and Southsea. Sadly Pret was not the clean environment I have experienced elsewhere, dirty tables, chairs strewn all over the place and most of the staff showing little interest in all that is going on around them.

We visited this place on 1 July 2018. There were three adults and two babies (Twins 2.5 years old.) Firstly it advertises as Natural , Green , Planet friendly. It is not. There is plastic everywhere. There are two high chairs in the whole restaurant. Service is awful and the cleanliness is much to be desired . All they are interested in os getting you through the paying questions as early as possible with no spoons available or even plates or cups. Food was not that good either. Will avoid in future.

Good sandwich again shared by us with a bag if crisps- I had ginger beer and my wife had sparkling water - all good

Food here was quite good - a little overpriced and filling of rolls could definitely be more generous though.

Stopped by for a quick lunch whilst shopping with my daughter.

Coconut Hot Chocolate to die for, the gooiest brownie and almond crossiant. Need I say anything else. Excellent Service!

It's quite difficult to find a meal that is dairy and gluten free (as a coeliac) but I am pleased to say that the staff and manager at this branch were very knowledgeable. I managed to get a tasty salad and dairy free coffee :-)

It’s a large glass-fronted venue prominently situated at the main entrance to Gunwharf Quays. Perhaps unsurprising then that by early evening stocks were running a bit low. No children’s sandwiches to be found. Never a vast choice of cakes and pastries, but strategically placed sockets for charging phones whilst reading a paper over a coffee.

While in this restaurant it seemed to go from quiet to manic several times.

Quick Service, and coffee Ok, whilst there were plenty of seats the restaurant tables were however dirty with food on the floor/under the tables - not a great impression. Floor walker did not seem bothered to clean up or keep on top of issues.

This place is clean and perfect for a quick healthy meal. We particularly like the vegetarian options.

What impresses you is the air of cleanliness, The restaurant is ideal for lunchtime snacks etc. Quick service means you could be in and out in under 30 minutes

Was a busy day but normally is in Gunwharf so no excuse. When we eventually sat down for a peaceful 20 mins away from the shops, every time the kitchen door opened there was Metal music blaring out. I don't mind Metal but when I'm trying to have a chilled catch up with my Dad it's just a wind up. I was actually more relaxed when I left. Coffee was alright.....

Was passing enroute to meeting family. Looking forward to trying their vegan options I'd heard about. Sadly no porridge in this store anymore, and non of the other vegan options available apart from the main salad type bowl. A very polite and friendly server apologised. Whilst the bowl did look lovely and had it been lunchtime i definitely would have had it. Will have to visit again to sample.

Situated within Gunwharf Quays retail outlet, this Pret served up a very nice Flat White - Organic Coffee . Priced...

Located opposite the M&S; Outlet store and the Gunwharf Quays entrance closest to the bus and train terminus.

I love everything I have had from this and other pret a manger outlets. It is definitely not the cheapest lunch option available, but everything is so well prepared and delicious you somehow just forget the price element of the whole experience .... it always feels like you're treating yourself, which lets face it, we all deserve sometimes! I don't buy regularly from here, but paydays or any other excuse/celebration I can justify to myself on the day sees me standing in line to order!

This branch of Pret a Manger is both light and airy and well located for a rest from shopping at Gunwharf Quays. Their food is always consistently good as is their service and this branch is certainly so.

I generally don't like the sandwiches as I don't like mayonnaise, but I love the coffee and pastries.We stopped off for a late afternoon coffee and pastry session along with everyone else in our party, and all five of us had lovely pastries and great coffee as always.The only reason for a point deducted is that the usual high standards of cleanliness were not up to the usual standard with lots of empty tables left with empty plates and sandwich wrappers left on a lot of tables.

Great selection right in the middle of lunch time. Okay prices but the food has got to be one of the best for sandwiches and light lunch-to-go food. Always fresh and well prepared sandwiches, baguettes and wraps. Hoisin wrap was beautiful. Good, quick service with a smile too!

Dropped in to this branch for the first time and found the place busy but still with plenty of seats available. Comfy seating and the tuna nicoise salad didn't disappoint; it was fresh, the leaves crispy and the dressing just right.

It is the best coffee and is very popular with people. It's always very busy, they have a large seating area outside and inside. It's always very clean and friendly staff.

It has been a long while since I visited a Pret a Manger but I will definitely do that more often. The coffee was very good. We even had some cakes over there.

Always enjoy Pret wherever we are however the Gunwharf Quays location needs to recruit more staff. We ate there at lunchtime and it was surprisingly quiet, only one person on the till and a long queue quickly formed. Food was delicious and nourishing.

We usually don't go for the big chains but when we were in Chichester it started to rain and we were hungry... We weren't disappointed by this Pret a Manger. The food is well presented and not expensive. It is also very good and fresh. Very friendly staff, nice atmosphere, would come again.

My family of two three have enjoyed eating and drinking various beverages here several times during the past couple of weeks. The food options, as well as the beverages are excellent and one may either eat-in or take your items with you, which also affords you a small price break. Highly Recommend.

I like the serve yourself from the fridge and multiple till points that are missing in Costa et al. Never have to queue long and superior food and coffee. IMHO.

Fed up with constant queues at other coffee shops at Gunwharf we were pleased to find Pret. Plenty of seating in spacious surroundings, fast service, ultra clean - would not now go anywhere else for a coffee of quick lunch at Gunwharf

Pret is the best! I love it for the vegan food that they do it's so delicious. The best food they do is probably the kale crisps and the amazing vegan food. I love the atmosphere and it's always very clean. Very friendly staff would definitely recommend.

No matter where you visit a Pret a Manger, you are assured of excellent, healthy, well prepared food, at very reasonableprices. This one is no different, and it has the added advantage of great retail therapy on it's doorstep - Gun Wharf!

Cold busy day in Gunwharf, all coffee shops therefore busy, but don't expect to have take out cups when drinking in. Shop very clean, service quick and drink was OK. Compared to the other large chains of coffee shops in this Outlet this one is by far the most spacious and cleanest. Todays visit was average purely because of the drink being delivered in take out cups.

The place was quite busy, but there were plenty of tables unoccupied, although we did have to clear the table ourselves so that we could sit and eat. We both had coffee and sandwiches which were jolly good, there was plenty of selection of sandwiches, baguettes and salads and all were reasonably priced.

I've had Pret a Manger all over and the best I can say is it's always value for money a fair price for a coffee, sandwich or pastry, this is no different

Every Pret can be trusted in my view and the cheap filter coffee is always a bonus. But was disappointed that there was no free water or glasses/cups provided. A small point but thought it worth mentioning.

Had a takeaway salad and sushi.It was okay, not very special. But good when you have no time to cook something

Go to this one in Gunwharf Quays quite a bit. It has a good range of food, (including vegetarian), and drinks. We can normally yet a table too. I like the boiled egg with spinach.

As per normal great quality food. Always fresh and tasted great.But 15 minutes for a coffee? God knows what went wrong, but coffee took forever. Orders wrong, sorry Pret, but it was very bad. Only wanted 2 coffees, but girl behind till was very abrupt and shouldn't be working if she can't cope.

A chain, so you know what to expect. Very busy here in Gunwharf Quays in the run up to Christmas. Nonetheless everything ran as it should, the staff were friendly and competent. Fresh coffee crisp, freshly baked pastries. Just what we needed.

Very large place, plenty of seating, staff very good, surprised how great the coffee was. great selection of 'quick' food.

Really great food but even better coffee. The baristas are first rate and I was really impressed to see them timing the speed of the espresso pour from the machine to ensure consistency and to check machine performance. A great attention to detail in every cup is very much appreciated.Thanks guys

I like this place, cause its always organized, staff is proffesinal, quick and friendly in the same time.

Ask prêt to see their coffee bags, there is no mention of Organic on them . Ask pret to see Certification body certifying their coffee, they dont have one. None of the food is organic except the tea bag. choc and porridge. they are part owned by Macdonalds so that probably explains their fake policy. So if you want Organic dont go to Pret unless you are a fool.

Great sandwiches always fresh and quick service is the perfect mix for a lunch stop. They are busy but always quick to rattle through the queue and keen to please - well done!

It's always difficult for a coeliac to find gluten free food while out and about (shopping in GunnWharf). But I know that I can always get a tasty salad and decent coffee here. They also have chocolate brownies (g/f) so I am always happy to eat here.

Very good food and its fresh and tasty indeed and good prices. I had tuna sandwich and glass of water.

je viens manger ici à chaque séjour,les produits sont très frais, de bons mélanges dans les salades ou les soupes. Chaud ou froid, j'aime faire ma pause en terrasse ou à l'intérieur et heure de pointe ou pas , c'est toujours propre.

Popped in mid morning on a bank holiday. Service with a smile and drinks all as requested. Nice modern feel to the place and most important clean toilets.

Went there to buy something to eat on our bus ride to London. The range in food is good. Everything looks very fresh and the service is fast. The place is bright an clean.

My partner,grandson and I called in for a late lunch after visiting the dockyards.We all enjoyed our food and drink.The toilets are not the nicest,need updating and more regular cleaning

Visited 3.15 pm today, nothing left on shelves to buy in the way of sandwiches etc, chaotic behind the counter, don't think I will go back , plenty of other places in gun wharf quays

Great food, great choice, great service too!We sampled the cold green tea with peach, & it was delicious! I had a salad with beetroot, butternut squash, fresh mint, parsley, quinoa, lettuce, seeds etc and a dressing etc it was really tasty!

Very relaxing drinks, pleasant clean surroundings, the pastries were fresh. Good range of sandwiches and pastries.

What a mess for service, Staff cant understand you. Got an expensive can of lemonade to be offered no glass and ice. I had to ask. Didnt get ice but did get a little plastic cup you see on a plane flight. Oh and the lemonade was disgusting. - Wont return to this branch again!

Pret a Manger was our go-to meal stop on the trip--fast, healthy reasonably priced food. Great for coffee, too.
