Pret a Manger in Birmingham

Richard at the counter service this morning made my day! Very kind, friendly, and welcoming and offered exceptional service. Thank you, Richard!

Worse service…. No greeting and brought burger and musli but there is no tissue and spoon… Really poor customer service

Purchased a bottle of water and a pastry. The staff told me to keep moving and I never got my pastry. If I wanted to donate my money I would do it elsewhere. Absolutely horrendous customer service.

On Friday 17th May, around 8:30pm @ Birmingham New street station, I Went to buy a coffee and Prets famous delicious chocolate cookies. I was greeted by a member of staff ( 3 staff members was working ) who had such an infectious, warm , pleasant & welcoming attitude. Their professionalism and dedication to provided great customer service was appreciated after missing my train. They where able to answer my random questions about your ( Prets ) coffees to making my drinks order just the way I requested. It was extremely refreshing and touching to receive such warm customers service in a world that is always so busy, on the move & like a conveyor belt. I watched their customer service after mine as I waited for my train, each customer receiving that same level of service, this is rare, in a fast paste, technology world we sometimes forgets the importance of good customer service. Thank you Birmingham new street staff for the impeccable service.

Experiencing the monotony of hospital meals while awaiting a transplant can be disheartening, but amidst the struggle, I discovered a beacon of culinary relief at Pret A Manger, thanks to the remarkable generosity of their manager. Despite financial constraints, the manager's compassionate initiative, turning surplus items into a special waste program, not only minimized waste but also offered me an unexpected lifeline. With a simple request, the manager graciously provided me with a magic bag filled with perfectly edible food, alleviating my immediate needs and bringing a ray of hope to my otherwise challenging situation. Their kindness and accommodation went above and beyond, demonstrating an exceptional level of care and consideration that deserves the highest praise. Kudos to Pret A Manger for nurturing such extraordinary individuals within their ranks.

Slow, rude and made wrong coffee!

I was waiting in the queue when hearing one of the team members complain at loud about customers then when I was asked to come to the till she cut in front of me and my son in a pushchair that close she nearly fell on him and had a coffee cup in her hand i told the guy I didn't want the food if that how the staff treat customers was she could of walked around me instead cut right infront of me with little space arrogant and ignorant is not the word i then asked the guy for her name he said it was " Myra " disgusting attitude not what I want to hear slagging off others customers and nearly scalding my son with coffee and I will never eat there again she left more than a bad taste in my mouth!!!

Got food poisoning from one of the hot wraps, stop holding them for so long before you kill someone! Editing weeks later: pret head office just try to pass the blame and haven't done anything about it, Ive been back to the store is still holding wraps for hours and not checking the quality. This clearly isn't the way they should be as none of other 2 prets in Town give out this slop DO NOT EAT HERE, THEY WILL GIVE YOU FOOD POISONING

Sold me an absolutely most stale croissant. I would expect at £2.90 a fresh one at least. It was also not baked through - sooo bad, absolutely fuming. I was so hungry when I got to the office and couldn't even eat that. The customer service was bad too, didn't offer a napkin, didn't offer a receipt.😞 Should have gone to Gregg's

Club Pret has ruined the place. Without the 20% discount everything is a rip off. £1.75 for a packet of crisps! I didn’t have the coffee but on recent occasions it has tasted really bad compared to other chains and independents.

I had a coffee here whilst I was waiting to meet someone. What I was impressed with most of all about this business is the product range. I was able to buy a filter coffee instead of a barista brewed coffee, which saved me some money. I was impressed with the service, given how busy the store was. The service was prompt and friendly. The location is excellent and the open plan means that you can sit and watch the world go buy and, if you are actually meeting someone like I was, you can easily spot them amongst the crowds.

I bought some fruit in a pot. Now, the atmosphere was very bad but it’s a train station so what do you expect. Three words to describe my time here: cold, loud but comforting. Comforting because I had just missed my train (twice) and I was in a bad mood. I was quickly served which meant I didn’t miss my train for the third time and as a bonus the fruit tasted really good.

Appalling Service, Absolutely terrible the staff show no emotion or enthusiasm towards customers not even a smile. Secondly being a multi million pound company they are stingy with tissue which I had to ask for to get!!! The entire cafes tables were dirty and had rubbish on there clearly the staff do not clean the cafe I’m not sure about thier houses. Avoid at all costs Devastated to see a cafe in grand central with terrible customer service!!!

Fresh and delicious desserts (or breakfast), it was good to grab something to eat on the train

I was standing next in line and a woman jumped the queue. It was very obvious as the shop was quiet and the staff noticed this. Still the staff decided to serve the woman who cut in line FIRST and ignored me. That is just rude. I really hope this is not because of race I'm from Southeast Asia and the woman who cut the line is white.

Awful experience at Pret in Birmingham New Street Station. The staff were so inconsiderate and disrespectful. They were not communicating well between themselves, all were visibly frustrated and openly argued with customers. Three staff members argued with me over a cup of hot milk and were not willing to understand or speak kindly.

Just popped in for lunch and a coffee and what amazing staff and superb customer service. Made such a good impression I felt compelled to review as 5*. Well done guys.

Fantastic Eastern European experience! The perfect tonic to all these places where the staff engage with you, smile, pass food or drinks to the customer etc. Here at Pret, you can be sure of salty surly staff, who give the air of depressed inmates seeing out their final days. Also, I think the way food and drinks are just slammed down at the end of the counter with the shout of “TEA!” or “OAT MILK COFFEE!” is refreshing, also fun to watch the travellers and tourists exchange confused glances- is this mine?- added to the no-queue scrum style service method, it makes a visit to New Street Pret a fantastic experience, all in the shadow of Ozzy the bull!

Really gone downhill. It’s suppose to be expensive and for the experience. Food is not all of that. Inside is dirty and old dated furniture. Service is beyond awful. Staff attitude is so rude many of them. Pret staff a lot seem very rude it has not happened once. The attitude stinks. Remember staff come to do a job and not answer back. Prices above the roof. When asked managers both questions they would not answer and just smile. I will no longer be visiting any Pret chains. Spend my money elsewhere!

Worlds worst tea! Not joking. They don't care.

Food is fine. But didnt have more choices. I got a hot chocolate and that was also fine. Atmosphere is really noisy. It is because the cafe is situated in the centre of the station. Staff is efficient and helpful

A man jumped into the queue the staff saw it, I tried to mention it to the staff about it, they looked at me and ignored me and continuing serving that customer wow 😨

Rude staff but great food and coffee

It’s fine if you need to pop in quickly but the staff weren’t too friendly and they didn’t have a bin, using a clear plastic tray for rubbish was a bit odd and it’s just there while you wait for you drink

Horrible customer service. No thank you, no welcome. Girl by the counter with hat on her head wasn’t nice at all! Just one girl was smiling (with glasses). Person with hoodie on head even not look at me when I ask if that’s coffee is my. Don’t recommend!

I visited on the 20th March, Monday morning. I would just like to thank the staff working that day for all being so friendly, everyone was polite, smiley and welcoming.

Best tuna baguette in the world

Passing through with a while before my train. Sitting here working and can't fault it. Comfy seating, well made drinks. Best of all the staff are amazing! Especially the guy in the bobble hat.

Poor customer service. Decided to close half the shop at quite a busy time. So there are no seats available.

It's my favourite coffee shop so I am going to be biased 😂 They offer a wide variety of food options big vegan and meat. It's free to substitute any coffee with a vegan alternative if you let the barista / cashier know at the time of ordering. Plenty of seating and is located at the centre of the New Street Station. Try their subscription - it's totally worth it!!

Very good food served by very kind stuff. Especially tall bald Slavic guy. Love his attitude to customers and his jokes about big building. Leaving 5 stars for this guy.

Been there all the time and staffs there are mostly friendly (Dani, Idina, Falou etc. - sorry guys if I misspelled your names), EXCEPT the guy who seems to be a manager (white, tall, bald, non-English accent). He has been very unfriendly and unhelpful to customers in general, even when he was laughing to his co-workers yet turned to be hostile when serving customers. I love the team there except him, and I have tried to contact Pret in the past, but things don’t seem to change, so I regretfully have to leave one star here. Still, I’ll be supportive to the shop there but will avoid to be served by that man as much as I could.

Lots of options even late in the day. Chocolate Croissant was really nice. Latte was really nice too, not super hot which allowed me to drink it straight away (this night be a negative point for some people) Downside, paid for my croissant and the server forgot my order straight away and was confused why I was still there. The tables weren't overly clean but it was nice to have somewhere quieter to sit down.

Croissants was raw in the middle and both our coffees leaked between the plastic lid and the rim of the cup, so dripped all down our fronts, and as the train rocked it again leaked from the same place, going all over our hands. Staff were great and the food and drinks tasted good, just a pain that we ended up covered in most of it

Absolutely fantastic! I love their capuccino-cream & caramel so I stopped this morning to get one. I added two almond croissants and two pains au Raisins. When I got to the till they told me, its okay, its on the house. I was completely shocked because I rarely get anything for free. It made me feel great, in a smashing mood for the day and definitely will be going back for more. But of course I will pay! India who served me was so lovely... 😊. Love this place.

Do the staff know what they are doing in here?

Jan was fab! I wasn’t sure what Milk to try with my latte so was recommended rice coconut and he said I don’t have to pay and to pay next time if I liked the drink incase I didn’t. Amazing customer service too will definitely come back.

I was here today and the staff were racist. DO I LOOK LIKE SOMEONE WHO CANT AFFORD A DRINK? The management needs to overlook on how they behave to people based on their skin colour, appearance and ethnicity.

Great first thing in the mornings quick and friendly

Poor customer service. I was half way through ordering and the staff member suddenly turns around and starts chatting to another member of staff working on the milk steamer. A shame as this is usually a decent Pret.

Every time I visit this location I get absolutely the best service :) the staff always have a smile on their face (even at 5am!) and my drinks are made super fast - which is amazing when I'm rushing to a train. Keep up the good work prey peoples!

Pret can usually be relied upon to provide fresh food and friendly service. Just grabbed a sandwich here and the guy serving me made no effort to be pleasant. It wasn't even busy. He just couldn't be bothered. Not what I have come to expect from Pret. Poor.

A member of your staff just restored my faith in humanity. Absolutely made my bad Monday a whole lot better. A little goes such a long way so much so that I'm writing this review.
