I was pleasantly surprised at just how good this hotel was. My room was clean, fresh, functional and comfortable. The price was more than fair. Breakfast, tasty and plentiful. But what really made my stay special was the welcoming friendly staff. Thank you. I can highly recommend the Premier Inn on Blossom Street in York.

Stayed for one night and was disappointed to find that outside of our bedroom window there was a building where works were taking place, which you could hear clearly from our bedroom and so were woken up earlier than we would have liked with that noise - when I fed this back, I was informed that it wasn’t covered in their good night sleep guarantee which was disappointing. However, the positives were that check-in and check-out was quick and easy, the discounted NCP car park ticket worked well and the premier room we paid more for was well worth the cost and would book one of these instead of the standard rooms again in other sites.

Location of this hotel is excellent. Rooms are fine, service is fine. There is some parking at the hotel which is charged at £14 a day and validated by the hotel (this doesn’t mean you don’t have to pay though annoyingly). Would stay here again.

This is really a 4.5 star rating. The room was clean and the bed was great to sleep in. Really easy to book and checking in was flawless. The staff were nice and polite. The lack of a star (really half a star) was due to the man behind the desk when we got back from our visits around 21:30. We asked for a couple more single portions of milk to have with our tea as we had run out in our room and the shelf on the reception desk had run out as well. We asked nicely for a couple and he said they had run out. I knew this was a lie as they have loads of them to restock the rooms everyday. So we decided not to purchase breakfast in the hotel and instead went across to the Spoons pub and got a traditional breakfast for £5.99 . Never mind as it was only a tuppenny carton of milk anyway. Apart from that an excellent service and stay.

The final step to mediocrity by Premier Inn. I have always been a big fan of Premier Inn. Just read my other reviews. However, they continue to decline in standards as the price rises higher. Let's start with the positives. We asked for two rooms with a connecting door and we got it. Thank you. It is a great location - a short walk to the city centre. That's about it. Check in was average. The room was dirty, particularly the shower room where the dust and grime on and around the skirting rivalled a 1970s B&B. The WiFi, like many of the trains in the museum down the road, was steam drive and in one room was not available at all. The breakfast buffet was a bun fight due to the poor layout and one of the coffee machines, the one on the bar, was so dirty there were actually flies buzzing around it. However, the final step towards mediocrity comes with the cost-cutting standardisation of the menus across the Premier Inn range. And with this standardisation comes the cost cutting reduction in quality of the supply chain. Previously Premier Inn was a safe place for us, as nuts were completely off any menu. Now the mine is riddled with it and we no longer feel confident eating there. At £103 per night per room, midweek and early September, Premier Inn is now competing with some premium hotels. They are unlikely to win. Mediocre hotel, with prices at the top of the middle range. This is a below average hotel in a now average hotel group. For us personally, with our loss of trust in the restaurant, we'll be using AirB&B in future. There's plenty of choice for a ton a night.

As regular Premier Inn visitors everything as usual was great with one exception. Customers in the bar were given very little notice of the bar closing early despite customers having been in there for hours watching the football. Had there have been extra time some people would have been angry.

We loved our stay at the Premier Inn York Blossom St! The rooms had adequate space, were clean, and cozy. Water pressure in the shower was optimal. The location is ideal, right by the rail station from where we came in, and right by Micklegate Bar. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet as well; it kept us going on our tours throughout the day. Staff were very helpful as well. Would stay again if I came back to York.

Usual Premier Inn hotel. My bugbear was that on the hottest day so far this year, the Aircon wouldn't go lower that 19°. I realise this is a "first world" problem....but you asked. Who came up with this setting? Ridiculous in my opinion!

It was OK. Walking distance to most attractions. Inn was a wee bit grim, room decor was grey and fan in bathroom didn't work. Bed was comfy and clean. Soundproofing was good. Receptionist on arrival was harassed and a bit cheeky. Perhaps management should put 2 on at check in. Restaurant was OK and reasonable. Would probably book for the other Premier Inn on Blossom St as it looked much nicer.

Hotel is fine apart from having 2 different receptions which is difficult with someone with mobility difficulties. The restaurant however does not provide any gf veggie main meals other than a cheese salad, which I won't describe as a reasonable meal in 2024. To me this is very lazy. The other options for starter were tomato soup or nacos, again lazy options and neither of which will transfer to a main meal well. We did Call and specifically check that there was provision for gluten free vegetarian available and were reassured before booking. (There are 9 plus meat options for gf and multiple vegan and vegetarian options all containing gluten). It was incredibly embarrassing having to ask for something and uncomfortable for the staff having to explain a lack of options, this being chips or salad with cheese. The vegan offer was salad with vegan cheese. Premier Inn please join us in 2024 from 1993, and don't place your staff and customers in impossible positions.

Our room was okay. But loads of bedding bags under our bed. One was full of dust. Our breakfast was not up to normal Premier Inn standards. It was lukewarm. No fruit juice other than weak apple juice. No orange juice as they said trouble with deliveries ? No black pudding. Cold grilled tomatoes. Coldish beans. I explained to a member of staff about our issues but she just shrugged her shoulders. It was 09.30 am not busy. There was an atmosphere amongst the team. We may not go again.

I have stayed in many Premier Inns with generally great satisfaction but not this time. I booked one off the new Plus rooms I have now been in the hotel for 3 days and you are supposed to get a range of benefits such as a coffee pod machine which despite several complaints over several days has never worked; the high speed wifi at first didnt work but a helpful night porter sorted that out ( I was told this evening he has been sacked); there is a fridge which has a broken bottle retention bar so you cannot store drinks in the fridge door., there is also a stool with a burst seat, not a big deal but indicitive of the lack of attention to detail. Two more general complaints despite asking for my room to be cleaned it hasnt been and lastly despite the room seeming to be quite large with an ironing board and iron there is no where to store underwear, socks T shirts etc one of the members of staff told me none of the renovated rooms have storage for small items. Premier Inn seems to have lost the plot and this hotel needs new management. As someone who has travelled a lot for business you want, cleanliness, enough towels with lots of hot water, and a decent breakfast it seems like the only one left at Premier Inn is the breakfast

We always stay at the Premier Inn when we visit York. The rooms are smart and well decorated. The breakfasts are always well presented and prepared. Very tasty. The bar always serves good ale and the staff are great at everything they do. I am already looking forward to next year's visit. 👍

Not a boutique hotel, it's a guest house at a push. Beds dipping and offering no support, no offer of a traditional breakfast & certainly not cheap. Finish not good, door sticking, asked for a room with a view, given a building site view. Angel was lovely and helpful. Perfectly located & that's it. 😞 would definately visit York again but this place needs some attention & thought.

Surprising and happy find. Looking for a curry near our bnb we cane across Woodthorpe Spice. We had the Prawn Patia and Samosas for a starter - both excellent, the prawns in particular - followed by Nawabi Lamb and Tangail Lamb. These mains were really well spiced, very tasty and highly recommended. If we lived nearby, I would work through the entire menu - everything looks good and are all so well described.
