Sadly overall one of the worst Premier Inns I have stayed in. Service non-existent and when visible either indecisive or just blunt/rude. The breakfast was a joke, it’s a busy restaurant and the serving area for a cooked breakfast was tiny and most things ran out after 5mins and then took ages to be replenished. We had dinner one evening and the food was revolting, pay a few quid more per head and head to any of the restaurants nearby. Rooms were clean but smelled damp even with the windows open. Location was just about passable but I wouldn’t want to be any further from town. Apparently the bar is not open for drinks during the day although the sign outside only refers to dinner and breakfast times, seems I have to use some sort of interpretation to work out that “Welcome to all out hotel guests” written at the top of the sign has conditions attached. If I was the manager of this hotel I’d have to think carefully about my position.

Dropped a couple of bags off earlier than check in, collected and check in was quick and easy. Room was located end of corridor, so quiet as no passing people. Sadly no view at all as down side of building looking onto another building and passageway. For my taste, mattress too soft and pillows too flat Room looked recently redecorated with large double shower, not as cramped as other premier inns that I’ve stayed in Breakfast was very good , as usual. Although it was very busy as during school holidays Excellent location , 5 mins walk from train station

Ideally situated for York city centre, room was great but could have done with a better clean (nothing to drastic just dust in the bottom of the wardrobe and an empty beer bottle and a few bits left on the windowsill) we did report this to reception but nothing was done about in the 2 nights we were there. Breckfast was tasty but there was a bit of a wait one day as almost everything was run out of.

Whenever we stay in a Premier Inn, I know I’m getting three things. 1. Consistent Stay - with an option to drop off our bags before check-in and after checkout. 2. Best Beds - Since January 2023, my wife & I have stayed in multiple rooms across Europe - Premier Inn’s beds are the best ones that have the most “give” that aren’t just hard as a rock. 3. Quality for Price - Best Quality Chain for the Lowest Cost The York location was nestled close to the train station which makes walkability a breeze. For a quick one night stay in York, this was an uneventful hotel which in itself is a plus.

Great location and room, although price rather steep. We were told we could go into the room for 11am, but upon arrival, we're told our room wouldn't be ready until at least 1pm. Besides that, nice breakfast which you can pay to get included, spacious room and superb location. Within minimal walking distance of multiple great locations such as train museum, train station and city walls.

We had a good polite reception upon arrival. The premier plus room was clean and spacious. Breakfast was as expected in all buffet style hotels. Poached eggs were cooked specially for us. The two young men in the restaurant were very polite and helpful. Overall a very pleasant trip. The location is good quite near the railway station. Good value for money.

Shame, because this hotel is in an amazing location - barely a 15 minute walk from the shambles and entertainment. A shame because our room was DISGUSTING. Dirt in the bed, on the pillows and sheets. We paid for a premium room, but the features barely even qualified for standard! The coffee machine was broken, the fridge was dirty and the WIFI sucked! I could see dust build up on the carpet and dirt in the bathroom. The room was constantly freezing. When we raised such issues, such as the curdled milk left in the glasses 🤮 we got a grunt and not even an apology. Thus decided not to bother with the staff who just didn't care. Clearly, poorly managed, and perhaps underpaid hence their uninterested responses! The restaurant next door had even more so, incompetent staff, we were left standing waiting to be sat down in a near enough empty restaurant! And when we were finally seated i had to point out the disgusting cutlery that had food hanging off it and stains. We were told many things were out stock.. the best items available of course. We saw a couple who had been eating nearly an hour for their food. The manager should have been out apologising. I could write many more paragraphs about how awful our experience was, but it would probably be dismissed like the other problems. AVOID.

booking had been messed up, we had to leave whilst they sorted the room out, room was not restocked with things such as towels or the bathroom toiletries, service by staff was rude and minimal effort was shown by staff to correct issues during our stay. breakfast was cold and not to normal standard of premier inn food.

Our family have been coming back every year and this is the first year where I feel the hotel has lost its way. The restaurant/pub is so awful since the change over. The left hand doesn’t know what’s the right hand is doing as the staff are so inexperience. It’s that bad we had to eat in the Windmill inn for breakfast and evening meal. Someone needs to take ownership and run it correctly like a pub/restaurant quick or remove the management. The hotel its self is a typical premier inn so the room etc is good and it’s a great location. The main receptionist could do with a smile to make you feel welcome and not making us feel we are a burden. It’s a great Shame and overall disappointed in them.

Fantastic stay here for a weekend in York. Just under a 10 minute walk from the train station, very close to the town centre and local sites. Check-in was quick and easy. Checked in at 3pm, check-out at 12pm. We had a plus room which was a nice addition. The room was spacious, huge bed, wardrobes, hairdryer, TV, tea and coffee facilities, a wet room bathroom. Very clean. The room is very quiet unless you have the window open then you can hear the cars below. We didn’t eat in the hotel so can’t comment on that. Good value for money especially considering how close-by everything is, no need to get taxis. Would definitely recommend for a trip to York.

Friendly staff and great location. Unfortunately my daughter was poorly on arrival, explained this to the staff and paid the £10 fee to check-in early. Whilst at reception the following day a couple were allowed to check-in early and werent made to pay the fee. Should be the same rules for everyone. Disappointed with breakfast, it was a complete farse, constant queues for the hot food as repeatedly running out of items. They need a much bigger serving area.

Stayed for one night and was disappointed to find that outside of our bedroom window there was a building where works were taking place, which you could hear clearly from our bedroom and so were woken up earlier than we would have liked with that noise - when I fed this back, I was informed that it wasn’t covered in their good night sleep guarantee which was disappointing. However, the positives were that check-in and check-out was quick and easy, the discounted NCP car park ticket worked well and the premier room we paid more for was well worth the cost and would book one of these instead of the standard rooms again in other sites.

This is really a 4.5 star rating. The room was clean and the bed was great to sleep in. Really easy to book and checking in was flawless. The staff were nice and polite. The lack of a star (really half a star) was due to the man behind the desk when we got back from our visits around 21:30. We asked for a couple more single portions of milk to have with our tea as we had run out in our room and the shelf on the reception desk had run out as well. We asked nicely for a couple and he said they had run out. I knew this was a lie as they have loads of them to restock the rooms everyday. So we decided not to purchase breakfast in the hotel and instead went across to the Spoons pub and got a traditional breakfast for £5.99 . Never mind as it was only a tuppenny carton of milk anyway. Apart from that an excellent service and stay.

The final step to mediocrity by Premier Inn. I have always been a big fan of Premier Inn. Just read my other reviews. However, they continue to decline in standards as the price rises higher. Let's start with the positives. We asked for two rooms with a connecting door and we got it. Thank you. It is a great location - a short walk to the city centre. That's about it. Check in was average. The room was dirty, particularly the shower room where the dust and grime on and around the skirting rivalled a 1970s B&B. The WiFi, like many of the trains in the museum down the road, was steam drive and in one room was not available at all. The breakfast buffet was a bun fight due to the poor layout and one of the coffee machines, the one on the bar, was so dirty there were actually flies buzzing around it. However, the final step towards mediocrity comes with the cost-cutting standardisation of the menus across the Premier Inn range. And with this standardisation comes the cost cutting reduction in quality of the supply chain. Previously Premier Inn was a safe place for us, as nuts were completely off any menu. Now the mine is riddled with it and we no longer feel confident eating there. At £103 per night per room, midweek and early September, Premier Inn is now competing with some premium hotels. They are unlikely to win. Mediocre hotel, with prices at the top of the middle range. This is a below average hotel in a now average hotel group. For us personally, with our loss of trust in the restaurant, we'll be using AirB&B in future. There's plenty of choice for a ton a night.

We loved our stay at the Premier Inn York Blossom St! The rooms had adequate space, were clean, and cozy. Water pressure in the shower was optimal. The location is ideal, right by the rail station from where we came in, and right by Micklegate Bar. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet as well; it kept us going on our tours throughout the day. Staff were very helpful as well. Would stay again if I came back to York.

Hotel is fine apart from having 2 different receptions which is difficult with someone with mobility difficulties. The restaurant however does not provide any gf veggie main meals other than a cheese salad, which I won't describe as a reasonable meal in 2024. To me this is very lazy. The other options for starter were tomato soup or nacos, again lazy options and neither of which will transfer to a main meal well. We did Call and specifically check that there was provision for gluten free vegetarian available and were reassured before booking. (There are 9 plus meat options for gf and multiple vegan and vegetarian options all containing gluten). It was incredibly embarrassing having to ask for something and uncomfortable for the staff having to explain a lack of options, this being chips or salad with cheese. The vegan offer was salad with vegan cheese. Premier Inn please join us in 2024 from 1993, and don't place your staff and customers in impossible positions.

Our room was okay. But loads of bedding bags under our bed. One was full of dust. Our breakfast was not up to normal Premier Inn standards. It was lukewarm. No fruit juice other than weak apple juice. No orange juice as they said trouble with deliveries ? No black pudding. Cold grilled tomatoes. Coldish beans. I explained to a member of staff about our issues but she just shrugged her shoulders. It was 09.30 am not busy. There was an atmosphere amongst the team. We may not go again.

I have stayed in many Premier Inns with generally great satisfaction but not this time. I booked one off the new Plus rooms I have now been in the hotel for 3 days and you are supposed to get a range of benefits such as a coffee pod machine which despite several complaints over several days has never worked; the high speed wifi at first didnt work but a helpful night porter sorted that out ( I was told this evening he has been sacked); there is a fridge which has a broken bottle retention bar so you cannot store drinks in the fridge door., there is also a stool with a burst seat, not a big deal but indicitive of the lack of attention to detail. Two more general complaints despite asking for my room to be cleaned it hasnt been and lastly despite the room seeming to be quite large with an ironing board and iron there is no where to store underwear, socks T shirts etc one of the members of staff told me none of the renovated rooms have storage for small items. Premier Inn seems to have lost the plot and this hotel needs new management. As someone who has travelled a lot for business you want, cleanliness, enough towels with lots of hot water, and a decent breakfast it seems like the only one left at Premier Inn is the breakfast
