Cattle Shed in York

My daughter dropped her burger. I went back to the cattle shed and explained what had happened. They immediately replaced it free of charge. They were very kind to do that. The burger was absolutely lovely, will def visit again.

A lovely little lunch spot. I had a great coffee and a Wild boar burger (delicious) The staff were super friendly too

Standard quality food but what really made me unhappy was the lack of care regarding service. My wife had just ordered a hotdog and was pushing our baby in the pram when she was bumped into which caused the food to fall on the floor, we asked the staff if it could be replaced and they refused, charging full price for another. So much for Christmas spirit. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I am replying to a review someone has put on here regarding us charging them more as I cannot reply to the review! The customer would have had cheese as an extra on his burgers which is an extra £1 (everything is stated on the menu) The price Total would come up on the card reader machine when you pay,it’s quite large numbers so there would be no way of hiding the price? I find it highly insulting and unjustified to say that we would charge more then what the price is, and I can assure you we would not just add extra on to the price knowingly. The customer should have come back and discussed the matter before accusing us of being dishonest on a review page. Hi everyone , we have a sign up that says minimum card spend is £5 on the front of the counter. We get charged a transaction fee and a percentage for each card transaction, so it’s not viable with small transaction. We’re just a small family business trying our best!

I have been here quite a few times and the food is really good however today I bought a wild boar burger with cash, and the went back shortly after to buy a bottle of drink in card. I was then informed that as it wasn’t over £5 it would be cash only. Obviously we know why that is don’t we! Really poor attitude too when I explained what I had bought earlier. Tax avoidance before the customer experience doesn’t work! A repeat customer at that!

Hot Dog consisted of overcooked dried out tasteless sausage of dubious origin with equally burnt onions. Absolutely disgusting - most of it went in bin.

Beef burgers as God intended. Basic and fuss free, really juicy. Recommended. Sausages looked brilliant.

One of the best burgers in York, and at a reasonable price too. I found them at the food and drink festival last year

Me and my daughter was in york for the weekend and decided to eat here. I had the pork sausage hotdog and a hazelnut latte, my daughter had pork and chorizo hotdogs with iced coffee.. the cobs where lovely and soft and meat was delicious. Highly recommend

Hi I use cattle shed quite frequently. First of all the staff are amazing they always welcome you and make you feel at home. There food is delicious and good value for money. The burger's and sausages are realy good quality and filling. Who could ask for more courteous and friendly staff.

Food and coffee was amazing but the service was poor. Lady was very rude to me, for no reason. Took me aback as I’m very polite. Visited here a few times before but sadly won’t be returning.

Just had 2 iced coffee’s with a syrup iam afraid not worth £4.50 each Food looked very good

My husband and I both had a Beef burger with cheese today at the street /food stalls. We were both disappointed, they smelt lovely whilst cooking, but the reality was that they were so bland, no seasoning and tasted of nothing really, £14 and really underwhelmed

Just pop by for a quick lunch break in a day of training. Excellent service and a wonderful pork sausage with sirracha sauce and cheese that has set me up for the afternoon.

Absolutely gorgeous burgers from here, my husband had the wild Boar burger & he said it's the best burger he's ever had. I had the Yorkshire Beef burger with cheese and I also feel it was top quality & one of the best I've had too. I would highly recommend you won't be disappointed 😋

Our first pit stop in York on BH Monday was to discover this take away right outside the Yorvik Viking Ctr. We sampled several Hot Dogs, Hot Chocolate, Latte and Snickers Slices. The staff were so friendly and everything so clean. We will be back.

Had a wonderful Yorkshire Burger. There’s such a mouthwatering choice. I need to go back to sample them all

My family greatly enjoyed the Viking Burger at The Cattle Shed, just outside Jorvik, Coppergate, York. We had both with and without cheese, and were pleased with the quick supply, the cleanliness of both the food stall and the seating area behind, and the prompt attention we received. I highly recommend a hot dog from the Cattle Shed to anyone who'll listen to me. They've been my go-to for my lunch breaks or grabbing something to eat the end of my shift. It's fair to say they've been keeping me going while working through the Christmas season! Thank you so much for the friendly service and phenomenal hot dogs!

Poor food hygiene practice. They handle money and food without sanitising hands OR changing gloves. Burgers weren’t hot, just warm, and the whole experience just generally disappointing. I’d recommend paying a little bit more and eating in the 3 Tuns pub just around the corner.

Discovered during lockdown. Always happy to see you. Wild boar burger very tasty. Friendly banter inexpensive fare. Near Christmas offering mulled wine. My wife fully recommends the millionaire shortbread

Good place to go for a lunchtime meal. Viking burger is recommended.

Stopped for burgers today. Absolutely delicious! The lady serving was very nice and chatty. Highly recommended
