Two things that make this place great. First, the staff. Nica, Theodore, Dawn, and Georgia took care of every problem I had. Cheers to you all. Second, location. Right across from Westgate, and many of the bus routes stop right outside the door. I had a grand visit to the City of the Dreaming Spires.

We stayed for 1 night on 25th December. Hotel is easy to finD, just opposite to westgate shopping mall. Breakfast buffet has limited options but it's good. We just walked in and got a great deal on the room. Room is equipped with all the facilities, TV, HAIR DRYER, BATHTUB. Hotel does not have parking facility, you can park your car in westgate mall. Parking is quiet expensive, we paid around 20 pound for 15 hours parking(overnight). Highly Recommend for a short stay !

The staff here are all absolute gems and went out of the way to make our stay and transportation as smooth as possible. The location is outstanding and no car or bus is required to go anywhere. The manager is also a helpful gem; thanks to all wonderful folks. Forgot to mention that the rooms (the premium ones) are all very soundproof and comfortable to sleep in. Will come again !

Best premier inn room I've been in, there was so much room! Only downside the shower was broken as it was stuck on the highest heat setting! Staff were really friendly! 10 min walk from the station and was centrally located.

The facilities are correct but could be improved. The room is very small. They do not have a shower, only a bathtub and it is very high so it is not suitable for children or elderly people. The window cannot be opened and therefore cannot be ventilated. We only used the restaurant for breakfast, which was correct but limited, but if you have a short breakfast it is better to go to the cafeteria that you find as soon as you leave. They give just enough towels and if you want them to clean the room you have to let them know. It was already good for us because we only stayed 2 nights. The location is very good because right in front is the shopping center and Oxford is small enough to explore the entire area on foot quickly.

A modern, clean quiet bed in a great location. A 10 min walk from the station and in the middle of town we couldn’t have asked for more! It’s your typical modern premier inn experience. Staff were great (once your found them!), utilised the left luggage on our final day which was appreciated. Our room was clean, cooled with air con and quite even though we were near the stairs. No complaints!

I was pleasantly surprised. New building, conveniently located. The room can accommodate up to 4 people (suitable for families).

My daughter calls herself the Premier Inns biggest fan 😂 And she says Oxford Westgate deserves 10 stars rather than 5. Perfectly set within town for ease for those of us who do not drive, the room was quiet, clean & up to standard. Dinner in the restaurant was great - highly recommend their Katsu Curry! Dan was particularly friendly & kind - although he did accidentally jump scare me, but I scare easily so it wasn’t his fault! We were only here for 1 night but would have gladly stayed longer & we definitely intend to return! Special thanks to the kind lady on reception Friday morning who made my little PI Fan’s day with a special souvenir too. Thanks PI Oxford Westgate - keep up the good work!

This hotel is great value for money. Conveniently close to everything. Their staff were super friendly and helpful. One note is that if you are traveling by car use the park and ride. Local parking is very costly £30-£40 per day versus £7 for two days. The bus takes 10 min and drops you outside the hotel.

We stayed over for a wedding, rang early in the morning to see if we could get an early check in, gentlemen we spoke to was very helpful and said he would try. Arrived at 12 and our room was ready which was great. Clean room, basic but that's all we needed. Great location to get around Oxford. It was lovely and quiet and breakfast was lovely the next day. Would happily stay there again.

The location is great and the staff are generally friendly. It's easy to buy breakfast and the menu is similar almost every day. The hotel is clean, but the towels are a bit dusty, and the towels are not changed every day. However, they do not provide many towels in advance, so if you are staying for a long period of time, please ask for towels at the counter. The room was a bit cold. And the hot water was so hot that it was a bit difficult to shower.

Newish hotel right in the centre of Oxford. My wife and I stayed one night on the fifth floor. Our room was very clean with tea/coffee making facilities and the bed was so comfortable. Staff were extremely friendly and always had a smile. Would 100% stay at this hotel again.

The location: good Check in: we arrived at 12:30 to leave our luggage, the reception asked us if we want to check in, we said yes, if possible, why not. He said we should pay an extra 10 pound for early check-in. We said thanks, just keep our luggage. Then we came back at 3 pm and there was a long queue for check-in. If you have rooms ready, what’s wrong with checking in a couple hours early like any other hotels? Or at least do the process but say the room will be ready later! Cleanness: not so good, there were stains in the corners of shower-cubicle’s door, not affecting the hygiene but still disgusting. The carpet in the room was not properly vacuumed. Other people hairs got stuck on my socks! Bed: extremely noisy and springy with the slightest move, but they have the nerve to advertise their mattress to sell! Breakfast: not worth it unless you are a huge eater. There are plenty of restaurants within 1-2 minutes walk that offer the same breakfast with half price. The quality is average to low and the options are limited. Again another British hotel that claims to have continental breakfast, but only offers jams and croissant! Frozen berries! No cheese, no cold cut, not even real bread!

A little disappointed with the room. It gave off a strong smell of humidity, although very spacious. A little painting wouldn't be amiss. I was on the floor below and it was average. For the rest, a great welcome and service effort. I also highlight the excellent location. However, the room is a little expensive for the results.

Great location. Comfortable bed and pillows. No noise...easily to sleep soundly. Great buffet breakfast with lots of options, especially for vegans at an additional low cost. Very accommodating staff. The chocolate and biscotti were an added treat. Very clean hotel and nice fragrance in hallways. Premier Plus rooms a must.

Stayed for one night at the weekend. Staff very courteous and efficient. Room and bathroom clean and had everything we needed. Very good shower and bed very compfy. Exceptionally quiet for a city based hotel. Great breakfast just the orange juice was a little watery. Excellent location for shopping, city and university. Good value for money and would certainly stay here again.

Superb Premier Inn, quiet, clean, comfortable and exceptionally helpful staff, nothing is too much trouble. Decent restaurant for a pub grub meal and cooked breakfast. Tea / coffee in room as expected. Spacious rooms, air con- really really quiet, overslept infact! About 10 mins walk from the station, buses stop outside the hotel / Westgate Centre. Check in before 3pm costs an extra £10, but you can likely wait in their lounge if early. Very hard to fault for reliable accommodation.

I’m back at the premier in after such a lovely stay last year. I arrived at the premier inn as was so warmly grated by Julie who got me settled in as was so kind. The highlight of my stay was the breakfast service. Food was amazing, place was super clean and tidy. Food was piping hot and absolutely Devine. I highly recommend this location and their fabulous staff and breakfast

HARD AS A ROCK sofa bed. If you have the needs for a second bed DO NOT Book this hotel!! The sofa bed feels like a rock! Now I am stuck here for two nights as my roommate (for this trip) is older and took the larger bed- which is not a sofa bed. Terrible night sleep- NOT WORTH THE MONEY- AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!

My review used to be 5 stars, but the recent sneaky 10% service charge automatically added to the bill annoyed the hell out of me. Also the new chili oil replacement is terrible.

Had a great time hiring the upstairs for a party. Sam the bartender was very accommodating, helping us set up, with our playlist and was lovely throughout the evening. Excellent cocktail selection as well as beers and soft drinks. We will come again at some point, many thanks!

Brilliant service - always friendly and welcoming any time me and my hubs pop in, and they're only just round the corner from us. The food is delicious, and I've never had a bad experience when ordering from them. Would highly recommend!

I’ve been coming to James St Tavern for about a year as part of a board game group (Oxford on Board - join us on Sundays!!!) and I can’t speak highly enough. It’s a great venue for games as the side area with the retractable roof is brilliant for all four seasons and really spacious and lots of tables. The pub itself is cosy and has a nice atmosphere - not fully “trad pub” but more of a modern pub vibe. The food has always been awesome (best avocado toast in Oxford for sure) and I appreciate that they give the group a discount too. The staff have always been really friendly, flexible, and accommodating, and the service has always been quick and hassle free. The price point is decent for Oxford as well. There’s a great range of drinks for those who do and do not drink alcohol - always such a bummer when as a non drinker I’m limited to coke. That’s definitely not the case here as they have coffees and teas lots of nice soft drinks - and a choice of non dairy milks as well. I like the diversity of things that happen at the pub as well - from open mic music to art shows and taking part in local community events like Cowley Road Carnival. 5/5 for me - keep it up James St!
