Premier Inn Herne Bay hotel in Canterbury

Hotel room, staff and service was excellent. However, I found, on arrival, the normal on site pub/restaurant was closed and food is now only available in the 'social', a very basic, canteen style facility. Many, if not all, premier inns are doing this. It's devalued the brand, massively. I doubt I shall use premier inns again.

Standard room. Bed was hard and pillows too soft for me. Staff on desk very professional and friendly even offering to assist with bags.

We had a great stay. The staff were great, the room was as you would expect but the downer was the evening meal. We did a meal deal for the 2 nights stay. As we often stay at premier Inns, we kind of know what to expect food wise. Turned up, saw the obligatory pub in the car park and expected that to be the restaurant. No, it was closed and moved inside. The choice on the menu was limited and the food wasn't as you would expect from a premiere inn. I ordered fish and chips and it was oven cooked fish and the same for the chips. No peas. A small dish of tartare source. On checking the bill, it was a cheaper meal deal than normal, so should i complain? If you're booking here just order the breakfast deal because that's really good.

Had a great stay here over the Bank Holiday weekend. Super friendly staff, nice clean room, great buffet breakfast. Really handy for Herne Bay, Reculver and Whitstable. Thank you!

This is a very nice place, pretty much what you'd expect. The rooms are clean, the staff are friendly and the location is great. We would return.

Going above and beyond. I hope this reaches the right people, but I will certainly be continuing to raise the incredible care, service and kindness demonstrated by Tiff. My father was a resident affected by a fire at his residential care home. Premier was a temporary solution to get him into a calm environment. From the very beginning the level of attention has been exceptional, far more than I could have expected. Need some fresh bedding? Not a problem. Need some support with linen? No problem. I have been overwhelmed by the professionalism, kindness and proactivity. I have been offered an accessible room at short notice, flexibility on turn-down times due to personal care needs taking longer. My heartfelt thanks goes to all the team working with Tiff from dates 16th, 17th and likely 18th March. The restaurant and catering teams have been following every expected protocol for alternative dietary requirements. As for the general feedback on the site, rooms are well presented, clean, fresh, suitable and as described for short stays. A final heartfelt thank you to Tiff and the team, you are making a difference and deserve every positive shout-out there is.

I am staying at Premier Inn Herne Bay for the whole of February, the staff here are amazing especially Jess and Zoe. After the first few nights I had a problem with noise, I went and spoke to Zoe who was on duty that evening, she did everything she could and sorted me out with a new room, which I have to say has been so quiet. The rooms are very clean and my bathroom is immaculate, the bed is very comfortable. On the 20/2/25 I returned to the hotel to be told that there was no water, this was not down to the hotel but a very large burst water main close to the hotel. The staff on duty were working so hard arranging for people staying and new arrivals to transfer to other Premier hotels. They weren't telling us we had to leave but gave us the option, I witnessed how hard they worked to help a number of people out. Well done to the staff that were on duty this evening, I actually went to Sainsbury where South East water were giving out free water and brought some back to the hotel for staff to offer customer's. I cannot fault anyone that I have had dealings with in the first 3 weeks of my 4 week stay. Thank you all very much. Premier Inn, you should be proud of your staff at Herne Bay Altira park.

Great customer service from everyone. They really went extra miles to make us feel comfortable (we had a baby and 2 pre teens with us). A nice walk to the sea side and the town.

Good room. Clean and tidy. Breakfast had a good selection. Hotel quieter than most, but went out of season. Bed very comfortable but pillows like sleeping on a kerb edging. Gutted Harvester across the carpark shut down. Didn't want to go to Miller and Carter for a large meal as they don't do bar food etc. Sainsburys near by. Not particularly close to sea front.

Bad - thermostat in room could not be change , so room was cold, during winter ??? No onsite restaurant as described or bar. It was a little side room, more like a makeshift canteen. Not the usual premier inn standard. Wouldn't stay again. BUT, staff were great, polite, welcoming .

The staff were all very helpful and pleasant. The room smealt damp and mouldy. On inspection the window frames were awful could see where the plastic frames had been badly painted to cover the mould. Just needs new window and a lick of paint especiallyin the bathroom. Will not be staying again. Such a let down have stayed other Premier's that were lovely. Breakfast was wonderful.

Not sure why I'm paying full price for 2 nights a room with no air con, found out it wasn't working when returned to a boiling hot room. Not what I booked is it. Apparently a few aren't working due to work being carried out, should of been informed before I wouldn't of had the room and can't change rooms as fully booked. Front desk gave us a fan and a new TV remote as that wasn't working either. The room would be unbearable without the small desk fan. Stayed for 2 nights whilst visiting family. Room was clean adequate. Wasn't particularly cheap could of spent the same in Canterbury which will probably do next time.

It is what it is, but that said it is one of the best I have stayed in. The room was good, clean and tidy. Breakfast was ok, and the team was good. Recommended

Had the most wonderful day. What a lovely bunch of people! Clean rooms, too!

Had a lovely stay. Rooms are basic, provided hair dryer, tea, coffee facilities. Bed was very comfortable.

Good positioned hotel. Clise to main carriage ways. Walking distance to Sainsburys. Petrol even closer. 10 minutes drive to main takeaways. Comfy bed. Fabulous staff.

Great for a break overnight if your travelling further

As always Prem Inn just do it right. Nice clean room, comfy bed, nice towels, good shower over bath.
