Upon arrival, you are greeted by friendly and polite staff. Parking is tight, but it is full, which is a good sign. Amuse Bouche The flavor of the beetroot chutney is strong—sweet and subtle. First Course Garam masala-infused chestnut and sprout cones—more of an open samosa cone. Initially, I was hesitant about the sprouts, but I was pleasantly surprised. The taste was elegant, with a nice kick from the pea and coriander chutney, and the texture had a satisfying bite to it, rather than being just a smooth paste. Course Two Lassan paneer tikka with oyster mushrooms. The dish is earthy with a hint of smokiness from the tikka paneer, complemented by a refreshing mint sauce. Served on a leaf and stone plate, this left my taste buds dancing with spice without being overwhelming. Probably my favourite love the versatility of mushroom. Course Three Shabazi kebab: lentil and broccoli kebab. This was not my favorite, but my wife enjoyed the nuttiness of the lentil kebab, the heat from the chili sauce, and the popping freshness from the pomegranate. Course Four Chowpatti: crisp rice and tamarind. This cold rice crispy dish balances sweetness and bitterness, with the combination of Bombay mix flavors and tamarind being surprisingly tantalising sweet and sour. By this course, I had already decided I would come again. The restrooms were clean and spacious. The layout of the restaurant was cozy, although the brass banisters marred by greasy fingerprints were a bit disheartening. Course Five Masala dosa: lentil crepe with potato curry. I was excited about this one, as I love dosa and not many places offer it. I always find my mouth watering while watching them being made on Facebook. This dish is a three-in-one: the lentil broth resembles a Mauritian/French dish called La daube, the potato and onion curry was heavenly with beautifully cooked al dente potatoes. The dosa itself was nutty with a nice texture. I wished there was more, but there were still more courses to come. Course Six Kofta: paneer and spinach kebab served on a light, fluffy bed of rice infused with caraway and browned onion, topped with okra. I found this dish a bit heavy, but I kept wanting more, so it definitely gets a thumbs up. It was a very rich dish. Course Seven Potli: dessert. By this point, I was feeling quite full. But give me honeycomb with anything, and I’m happy. This dessert is like baklava, but instead of pistachios, it features almonds and cranberries, served warm with lychee ice cream that brings it all together beautifully. Cons The music can be irritating at times. It was very warm, possibly due to the number of patrons. I wished there was something to cleanse the palate after each dish to fully appreciate all the flavors. Pros The food is definitely recommended, and I will be back to try the Thai offerings. The staff were very attentive and welcoming; they couldn't do enough for you.

Absolutely brilliant North Indian food. The thali was a barrage of the best Indian food I’ve had outside of South Asia. The chaat was a perfect blend of spice, heat, sweetness and crunch. The dhal brought a tear to my eye it was so good. The roti was as fresh as imaginable with a light painting of ghee. The samar had a beautiful sweetness to it that was the perfect accompaniment to the curries and sabzi that made little compensation for the Western pallet. At £50 for two it’s better than restaurants 3 x the price in London. An absolute gem that is worth the detour if you’re ever anywhere near Leeds, Bradford or England in general.

Wow! What a fantastic restaurant. Hands down better than Dishoom, Gunpowder, Mowgli, etc. or most Indian restaurants in London. Prashad embodies the family-owned, family-run magic of catering for your own community. My partner and I got the thali set menu and had to be rolled out. Onion bhaji was perfectly crisped and the chaat was fantastic. The thali curries were gorgeous and so full of flavour (my favourites were the spinach and chickpea). The only misses for me were the chai (needed more cardamom and pepper imo) and the apple & cranberry chutney (I understood what they were trying to do, just wasn’t for me). Will definitely plan to come back!

Visited on new years eve. After a slight wait while our table was made ready we enjoyed a really good meal. The sharing platter was comprised of an assortment of different bites, and each was different and delicious with great use of different spices and herbs. For our main we had a masala dosa which was the best we've ever had, and a paneer dish which was also excellent. The garlic bread was good although a little dense for my taste (but probably not others). I did have a slightly dirty plate for the main, and the ambience of our table was not the most relaxed being opposite the kitchen with a flow of staff, but it was not really a problem. Overall the food was fantastic, and we'd not hesitate to return particularly for a group or informal get together. Less so for a more intimate or romantic night out as a couple.

Just paid our 4th visit and it's been amazing every time. My wife is vegetarian and we both love Indian food so I take her whenever I can (we live 20 miles away now so it's not easy). I can't emphasise just how good the food is. I'm a big meat lover and even I'm happy to go out of my way to eat here. The service is also excellent. This is the first time taking my son who is autistic and none verbal, and will only eat beige food, and the waitress was really nice and accommodating. He ended up wolfing down about 30 poppadoms, garlic naan and some chips, and he liked how calm it is

Having discovered this delightful restaurant in October, my wife and I visited it again with our daughter and son-in-law as a Christmas present. The attentive staff made for a pleasurable evening, but the delicious food blew us away. We began with the tasting starter platter before getting stuck into a Maharani Thali and 2 other main courses with breads and rice. The chaat was outstanding Sensational does not do this restaurant justice. Why we have not been here before is beyond me!!!

An all vegetarian restaurant. The thali tray for £30 looks very nice and more than enough for 2 poeple. Comes with many dishes but you will get thing in this you like and dislike, so a bit of a hit and miss with this. Mango lassi too sweet for our liking. Masala dosa I've had better still good though. The best thing was the samosas chaat, 5 stars. Atmosphere was nice. Service was ok but we were seated by the food service area. Front of Staff arguing with cooking staff. Not something you want to hear. Was expecting alot more from this place but felt a little let down. There's sevices charge added to bill got it taken off, I'd rather give a tip for sevice. £160 for 6 people.

3.5 for the food I had Was okay. I'm sure there's lots of better dishes however I Got the maharani thali which is beautifully served. 2 of the dishes were tasty. All the tomato based ones tasted the same to me or of taramind. I eat Indian cuisine all the time so I Was very disappointed. Expected so much more. Roti was very very thin, desert tasted of nothing jus sweet cheesecake topping. Sure it was supposed to have an Indian flavour. Amuse buche was a nice touch. Everything had pea shoots on for garnish no coriander in sight. Didn't feel like fine dining either. Still, I enjoyed the 2 dishes I ate. Shame rest was wasted esp for the price. Had to remind about drinks. I would go again for the dhaal but in no rush. Was with good company so always a good time. My cousin who didn't order the thali really enjoyed hers. Can't remember the name of her dish but it was the yellow lentil dish in the pic. That's one of the 2 I also enjoyed.

Disappointing Experience Due to Hidden Service Charge I recently visited Prashad with a tasting menu voucher for two, and while the evening began well, the experience declined quickly. The first four courses were flavorful, though portions were overly large, leaving us full too soon. The dishes were also too spicy at times, with chunky herbs that detracted from the meal. By the time we reached the final three courses, including an underwhelming dessert, the quality had noticeably dropped. The menu itself was tasty for the first four courses—flavours were fresh and very aromatic. However, portions were much too big and we were full by the 4th course. My partner felt that the dishes were a bit too spicy at times and the herbs and aromatics could be quite chunky and need spitting out. Does not make for a romantic dinner date! The last three courses, including the dessert, were quite underwhelming. Service felt rushed, with plates whisked away too quickly. We felt that this was overwhelming and rushed the pacing of the meal. When it came to getting the attention of the waitstaff for other things, it felt like it took forever to get their attention. Service was slow and inattentive once the dishes were on the table, which diminished the experience. The atmosphere wasn’t great either, for a ‘fine dining Indian restaurant’ it felt more like a family style restaurant. Disappointing as we were expecting a more refined experience. We had to move seats as we were sat in the corner table initially, which was extremely cramped. Tables were so crowded together you could hear every conversation happening at once. This also made it difficult to hear the descriptions of the tasting menu- which were not delivered with the most enthusiasm… this would’ve been resolved if we were provided a tasting menu list on the table to follow, which is standard for such experiences. The real issue, though, was the unexpected compulsory service charge. Despite being labeled as “discretionary,” we were told it was mandatory for the tasting menu. This was especially frustrating as it was a gifted experience, and we didn’t expect to pay extra on a prepaid voucher. While I don’t mind paying service charge on drinks or extras, it feels unfair to impose it on the portion of the gifted meal. It would’ve been better if they had simply factored it into the overall price. We ordered £12.75 worth of drinks but with the service charge we were expected to pay over £24! They removed the service charge on the drinks after we told them to but they refused to remove the £8 service charge on the tasting menu! While the first few courses were excellent, the poor service and forced service charge ruined the evening. It’s a shame, as I otherwise might have recommended Prashad, but this hidden cost and lack of refinement mean I won’t be returning. Don’t expect Michelin-level dining here.

It was a delight to dine at a restaurant that serves a Gujarati cuisine; just for the benefit of the uninformed Gujarati cuisine is one of the true cuisines of India. Not an Indian restaurant that should be confused with other High Street 'Indian' restaurants run by Bangladeshis. The nice things that you see with 'Bangladesh Indian' is the waiter place the napkin on your lap nor an amuse bouche. That apart the food was absolutely divine. Perfectly cooked, every dish had it own exquisite flavour very reminiscent of a Gujarati home cooking. Masala Dosa are a large and very filling so be guided if you do not have a gigantic appetite. Maharani Thali is a good way to sample many dishes with out filling yourself with individual servings. Save space for 'gujlawa' at the end. Sadly the wine list is not best suited to Gujarati cuisine. Aim for an off dry white wine or a low tannin low alcohol red. Highly recommended.

Prashad's has ruined food for me because nothing I've eaten has been as delicious as this food. I've been wanting to try Prashad's for quite some time, and tonight I figured I'd get something delivered. The Kopra Pethis were outstanding. I didn't think I'd enjoy coconut and garlic but they were wonderfully paired. The coriander chutney just served to enhance the flavour. This was one of the best things I've eaten in a long time. The chole was... divine. Expertly married spices with cinnamon and star anise being the main notes I could taste. I don't know how they're doing this but this is the best dish I've tried... ever. The Gujarati naan was stuffed with dried fruit and nuts and was the perfect addition to the chole. The savoury and sweet worked wonderfully together. The mango lassi was great, too. This has set the bar for me, though, I don't think it will be surpassed. They've ruined food for me. Absolutely outstanding.

I was expecting excellent things from the food, however I felt it was very good, not quite excellent. The fresh food was very well presented and arrived hot, and was enjoyable, but I wouldn't say it blew my mind. It's exciting to have a dedicated vegetarian establishment serving one of my favourite cuisines, which is perhaps one of the reasons my hopes were so high. With my hopes high, perhaps it was inevitable to feel a sense of disappointment. The service was almost perfect, but the sneaky up-selling of bottled water just as your bum hits the seat is an irritant, as is the automatic inclusion of a 12% service charge. £40/50 per person for food and drinks should sufficiently cover overheads, without foisting a service charge on the customer. I'm happy to tip, on my terms, but it leaves a bad taste in my mouth when it's automatically included. It just feels... Cheeky? What's more, I feel that the wait staff were excellent, very attentive without overstaying their welcome at the table, and I would say they deserve a tip, but on principle as mentioned above, I elected to withdraw the service charge from the bill (which they readily did, but it's awkward to ask). I'd say it's about 20% more expensive than similar restaurants that I've been to, and I probably enjoyed it 20% less. Finally, the onion bhaji on the mixed starter was perfect. Impossible to fault.

Having thought about our recent dining experience for the last few days, I decided on a short review to offer balance. The venue is pleasant with on site parking and easy enough to find. However, with the exception of the complimentary amuse-bouche and pickle tray, our main courses were really quite average. There was no discernable difference in taste, texture or colour. We ate nevertheless as much as able, declined the desserts and paid the rather pricey bill - which a little to my surprise contained at 10% service charge. We were a party of 2, on the ground floor for 90 minutes - I don't feel we troubled the staff sufficiently to warrant that. In summary - an expensive and very average food experience . We have had much better dining experiences in well established curry houses in Leeds and/or Bradford. Sadly the Prashad isn't for us.

My wife always wanted to eat here as it serves vegetarian food only . She had seen it on a show with Gordon Ramsey . Well today we are in the area and a good opportunity to eat at a Michelin star restaurant. The restaurant stand on it own detached building with plenty of parking. All the staff were polite as soon as we entered and said Hello , welcome. Now to the food , we ordered 2 same thali’s. We both got some diffident dishes and waiter explained so we could try different foods. Ok cool . Most curries were bland and oily . There wasn’t one dish I could say I enjoyed. I thought Michelin star restaurants cook the dishes as you order , but I felt like everything was pre-cooked and put on dishes . The cuisine is Gujarati and most Hindus know the dishes well . So we were surprised that Michelin star restaurants can serve such bland dishes, I can’t eat very spicy foods ,so we ordered a jug of mango rassi which was over the top sweet. , yes there were plenty of different spices in food but nothing stood out . I have had better food in standard Indian restaurants. Overall we were done in 50min . Disappointing and expensive for what the food consisted.

Three ladies out to celebrate an 80th Birthday. Our table was booked for 5.30, on arrival at 5.15 we were ushered to some seats in the corner by the entrance door and left there without a word spoken whilst the staff continued to polish the copper bar area. We weren’t even asked if we would like a drink. After 10 minutes or so I asked if we could order some drinks please. We were then taken “upstairs” to our table. Why you would have three elderly ladies taken upstairs is beyond me especially when the downstairs was empty. The meal was just ok, really disappointing as I had been to the Prashad three times before and always enjoyed the experience. The next shock was the bill which came to £83 + absolutely disgraceful for what we had. I certainly will not be visiting again.

The food was great, good presentation and overall lovely ambience. The sweets need more variety as they were lacking variety in the sweets. In the thali we got sweet boondi but were expecting something better than that.

Been dreaming of Prashad since I got the original cookbook many years ago. Today we finally made it and it was worth the wait. Magnificent food, prepared with care and attention and packed full of so many different flavours and textures. We had the set menu but will be back for a la carte. The perfect lunch.

Ordered a takeaway based on a friend’s recommendation and it did not disappoint. Arrived quickly (and hot) and was absolutely delicious. Like others have said, we’re not vegetarians or vegan but we didn’t miss the meat at all. Will definitely be ordering again and keen to come try the beer and cocktails so will plan a visit to eat in very soon.

Excellent food and service. A tad pricey, but you can't get food like this anywhere else.

Don't understand why vegetable dishes cost so much?? Twice the price of equivalent meat dishes elsewhere!! Portion sizes not adequate and food spicy can't taste anything but spice!!! Highly overrated and gathering by other reviews owners not bothered as can't be bothered replying to feedback bad or good

Great food and location. You don’t miss not having meat and the options are varied and tasty. The carpark is a little small so get there early.

We had heard about this restaurant in the Hairy Bikers programme and decided to give it a try. Easy to find with a good sized car park. We were greeted very nicely and shown to a table by Mona who was very attentive. Abdul was our server and he was excellent. We opted for the tasting menu. Abdul explained what each of the dishes were, what they contained and how to eat them. Food was excellent with delicious flavours. The food was like nothing we have ever had before. We will definitely be back, a great experience. Definitely recommend.

As a vegetarian It was so nice to eat at a place where I didn't have to worry. We had the couples tasting menu which was very reasonably priced and gave us the option to try many dishes. The food was outstanding. Plentiful and full of flavour. The signature cocktails are a must have and the service was awesome and knowledgeable. Envy the people who live locally. Will definitely will come back again when staying near by. We prebooked as we didn't want to miss out while in the area. There is a big car park and overflow. If you have mobility issues make it known in advance as the majority of seating is accessible only via stairs. Hats of to the chefs and staff, especially Sam.

Not your usual Indian food, an incredible fusion of Punjabi and Gujarati. Having been to some of the best Indian places in London like Gymkhana, Gunpowder, Cinnamon Kitchen and Trishna... I've got to say this was pretty special. What a northern gem. Well worth an hour's drive! We had the pleasure to meet Minal the head chef, incredibly passionate about flavours.

Very good vegetarian restaurant, which is nicely decorated. Mixed Platter starter was superb, Paneer biriani was a bit bland but OK.

Our first visit to this restaurant and after seeing it on the Hairy Bikers decided we wanted to see the place and celebrate our anniversary dinner together here. The service and courteous manner of all the staff was exceptional and cannot be faulted. The food in itself was a different experience for us.

The prices are so expensive and quantity is so less for the price. We visited with a 6 year old kid, the junior meal was not upto the mark, they served with rice, 1 piece of chapti with just very small portion of paneer curry, the curry was not sufficient for 1 piece of chapti itself, think how kids can eat rice? Those who running restaurant should understand and change this please. Some common sense would fix these kind of issues. We have ordered a maharani thali, the price is so expensive considering both quantity and the quality, the curries served with the meal not even 1/4 of the bowl, first of all the bowl itself was very small, and the food quality was not that great, they served dry rice etc.. for anything extra portion of curry there'll be additional charge. I was visiting from few years but wouldn't recommend for really food lovers. Just if you want to try vegetarian restaurant then you may think. It's a huge disappointment 😔

We were hoping to send a direct email to the restaurant, but we could not find the contact details on the website, which was a shame. This was our 3rd visit with friends, we have also attended a cookery course here a few years ago so we were keen advocates of Prashad. Unfortunately, this visit was spoiled with the putrid smell of urine at the top of the stairs and into the top floor of the restaurant. We were not sure if the smell was coming from the room at the top of the stairs or the ladies toilets but it was very strong and we could smell it the whole time we were eating. We mentioned it to one of the waiters and he asked if he should get an air freshener which was the wrong answer, it just smelt of urine masked with air freshener. These low hygiene standards are very poor for a restaurant with a reputation for great food. Please Prashad, keep your standards high and give the issue some attention before it puts regular guests off coming back.

Gorgeous food, excellent service, good value for money. Went for hubbies birthday. Had the fixed price menu. Started with a complimentary amuse bouche, rice dough ball, which was spicy and tasty. Popodoms and pickle tray followed , with lovely unusual pickles. Best onion bahjis I've ever had, and the chaat is amazing. Then a huge dosa and a tasty Thali. Pint of cobra. Excellent.

Very very expensive. £17 for 3 lentil lotta is an absolute rip off the paneer was also £17. There is no justification to charge this for such small portions. There was so much spice in it I could not taste any other flavours in the dish.

Had the Yakisoba at Wok to Walk, and it was fantastic! The dish was super fresh and packed with flavor—just the right mix of noodles, veggies, and sauce. Big shoutout to mae for the excellent service and for making the experience even better. Definitely a must-try!”
