Pra Thai in Barnet

We’ve ordered many times from pra thai, however, tonight’s delivery was terrible food. We ordered green and red curries that did not taste like a traditional Thai curry. Really unusual, taste almost like a synthetic burnt hot flavour. When we called the restaurant to ask if they had a new chef, they said they couldn’t do anything about the order and the other people like their food so that was that. Terrible customer service, especially since we are regulars, or were regulars. We won’t be ordering from this restaurant again.

I have eaten from here before but decided for a seat in this week and decided to start with a mix starter, the lady was warm coming and told me they don't sell pork with means no bbq ribs but chicken wings instead I think there was another dish to which they swooped around but decided to have this first. Unfortunately the 3 wings were flooded with batter which I had to take of as it was so greasy the fish cake was also greasy, prawn toast not fresh,satay chicken come out of a packet . Nothing was fresh I was disappointed as I was looking forward to main but decided against it as my starter wasn't great. Shame as I it was a good place, now I will look elsewhere.

Terrible pad Thai - took over an hour to arrive, was nearly cold, noodles a thick clump and hardly any chicken. Response to complaint - what do you want us to do, we’ve sold lots today and no one else complained. Doesn’t mean my dish wasn’t bad! Awful food, worse service. Avoid this place!

I last ordered from this place in October. It was wonderful. Today we ordered again, and it was rubbish. Everything was cold, and tasteless. The containers were all different to last time so maybe the owners or chefs have changed?

Ordered a takeaway from here and the 2 main dishes both had chicken in which had a really strange and unpleasant taste to it. We avoided eating the meat after that and I am hoping it hasn’t made us ill.. Also our delivery arrived 30 minutes earlier than requested so we weren’t ready to eat! Won’t be returning

Just had the most delicious curries delivered fresh and hot. Very tasty and generous portions. Great taste and value for money. Will definitely be back for more.

I want to share and thank you for my recent experience. I normally order for me and my husband but this time I also ordered for our toddler. I was unsure of items that would be ok for him so upon calling the restaurant, I was told that all items are made fresh to order and as nothing is pre- made I was able to order a rice, chicken and vegetable mix suitable and enjoyed by our toddler. We ordered our usual mix platter which is so tasty and great value for £. Price is not per person but as a total so for not even £14 we get a selection of starters- mixed meat platter has ribs, chicken satay, spring rolls and dumplings and all those yummy in-house homemade sauces. This restaurant is independently run and has been on our doorstep for about 4 years. I urge you to give them a try and you won’t be disappointed by their fresh and authentic Thailand dishes. Curries can be made milder or spicy. I like the fast they have a 5 star hygiene rating, are independent, make everything in-house from their sauces, curries, prawn on toast, dumplings and they are Halal so that works well as our best friends are Muslim so this is a common go to. Food portions are very generous and we are always able to enjoy the left overs for lunch the next day as we always are soo spoilt for choice we order heaps. Our go to’s are mixed meat platter, beef massaman curry, minced beef pad prix gray pro (I hope I spelt it right), pad kee ma noddles! Order direct on their website for 20 percent off! This is our family favourite and we can’t wait to visit you again and until then it’s take away orders x

Just had my first food delivery from Pra Thai after hearing lots of good reviews. I ordered 3 dishes, Thai Green Curry with prawns, vegetable tempura & Pad Thai Noodles. The best of the 3 was the vegetable tempura, delicious & crispy, huge portion. The Pad Thai was good too but the Thai Green Curry was swimming in runny sauce, more like a soup. Once I had poured most of the sauce down the drain, I was left with very little else, but the few prawns and aubergine that were lost in the sauce tasted good. What all 3 dishes had in common was that they were all extremely tasty and full of delicious spicy flavourings. Will order again, but won't be ordering the curry again. 4 stars, not 5 because of the excessive amount of runny sauce in the curry.

Had a takeaway from Pra Thai and the food was disgusting. The mixed meat platter to begin with had a number of items including spare ribs which were extremely fatty and greasy with virtually no meat on them, chicken satay which was on a skewer where the chicken was so thin and almost stuck to the wooden skewer. The Thai fish cake looked as if someone had sat on it as it was so flat. To follow we had duck with pancakes and hoisin sauce. The duck had so much soft fatty skin which should be dry and crispy. The Pad Thai was extremely dry. Worst of all were the banana and apple fritters for dessert. The banana fritter was so oily, but the apple fritter was absolutely disgusting and inedible. It was covered in so much desiccated coconut which was so overpowering that you could not taste any apple at all. When this was brought to the attention of the owner, she replied that the fritters are never recommended for a takeaway and started berating me. Then why have them on the menu? I had to remind her that customers pay her and her staff's wages and that she should not be so aggressive towards someone that did not have a good experience. You are warned - eat here at your own peril!

I have just order from The restaurant the food is absolutely disgusting the rice stinks of trash. I wasted my money and I had to throw the order in the bin. I always order of Uber eats and I enjoy tasting different food I have never ever complained about a order or had to write a rude message like this before. However I know it comes across rude but at the end of the days is the truth the quality of the food and attention is beyond poor. I’ll give this restaurant zero stars. ABSOLUTELY SHOCKING
