Unique to this restaurant is a dedicated menu for satay with everything from lamb, fish, tofu, tempeh, beef which can be ordered as a starter or mains. We shared a starter portion (£11.95) of the chicken satay which was outstanding. For mains we shared the sea bass which was fantastic too. As we were still hungry we were recommend the lamb satay which was OK. Although not specified on the menu the chicken comes with 6 skewers and the lamb with only 5. We were kindly provided with complimentary dessert which added a nice sweet ending to an enjoyable meal. The service throughout was exceptional - we had a nice chat a couple of times with one of the waiters who also assisted us in choosing dishes and played along with me tricking my other half into believing that the birds were real. Overall: Best chicken satay I have ever had and wonderful service... however I do feel the menu overall is overpriced hence the tough decision to drop this to a 4 star. Mains are £20

What a fantastic local restaurant. Three of us went for lunch and had a mix of dishes, and not a fault among them. Particular standouts were the satay, sea bass and aubergine. Great vegan/veggie options too. Service was stellar, although we were the only ones in the restaurant! Others have mentioned the price but we found it very reasonable - we paid £33 a head for 3 of us which included shared starters/desserts and own main courses. Definitely visit this place!

After 1hr 50 minute and only served with starters they still couldn't say when would get main course. 15 min before then we were told would be 10 or 15min .Paid for what we had and walked out and purchased takeaway fish and chips next door. Apparently new chef but really they should never have taken our booking made couple.hr previously if they couldn't cope. At 5.30pm booked for 7.30pm and restaurant only 50% or so filled. Shame as prev visits have been very good but will never go again.

We enjoyed our dinner, but we felt that the prices were a bit steep for what we got - and we skipped desserts at 8£ a piece. The karaoke and singing were an odd choice for the ambiance - it wasn’t /bad/, but it didn’t add anything to our experience, as the choice of music was western indie-pop to karaoke backing. Had it been Indonesian music we would have been much more enthusiastic! The waiters were lovely, but we had to wait far too long for our food. Overall not a bad place to eat, but personally didn’t think it was worth the hype.

Honestly the most disappointing visit to a restaurant. The ambience was nice and we knew the dishes were expensive. (main course £20 each and starters between £7 to £15.) My parents are vegan and I eat meat and love Balinese cuisine. So we ordered the tempeh satay. £10 got us four skewers. tasty yes, but overpriced. I ordered the beef martabak and it was fine. But the tahu isi was flavourless and a meagre portion. We then had to wait over an hour for our main course. The waiters were anwful and knew nothing about the dishes, unable to answer simple questions. Food came out at different times and were served cold. By the time I got my food I’d lost my appetite, and honestly, the vegetarian dishes were flavourless. It was criminal to be charged so much for so little. And a waste of three hours! Other tables had the same problem, with one table receiving a massive chicken dish long after they’d finished. It had so much promise but I’ll never go there again. Don’t waste your time or £

The last time I enjoyed authentic Satay Chicken, cooked to perfection on a charcoal BBQ with proper peanut sauce, was at Satay Corner, a delightful Hawker Centre in Singapore. Upon entering, we were warmly welcomed by the lovely husband and wife team, and our waitress, Tara, was outstanding. They made us feel like part of the family, and the atmosphere in the restaurant was buzzing with energy. We started with every Satay skewer on the menu - the sambal and peanut sauce were absolutely incredible! We then had the curries and their fried fish, finishing off with banana fritters for dessert. Very tasty food let down by appalling, slow service. It was busy in the restaurant but other tables seem to be getting served quicker than us. We had chicken satay (6 skewers) and chicken dumplings (2 dumplings) for starters, these were good but took almost an hour to arrive. The main courses took another 30 minutes. The slow cooked chicken was delicious, and a very large portion (2 drumsticks, 2 thighs), as was the chicken betutu. We have deep-fried sweetcorn fritters, which remind me of similar dishes in the repertoire of Myanmar, the heat-blistered kernels bursting out of their skins amid the batter matrix. Really disappointed by the meal here. Firstly, beware of their allergen information as the staff say this is wrong on the menu and the website, which is a serious issue. It's listed against each dish, so diners could easily just order without telling staff they have an allergy. In terms of the food, the satay sauce was pretty good and meat was ok, but all the mains were very ordinary and lacked typical flavour for the dishes. Staff were friendly enough, but mistakes were made with the order without apology and service was slow. I was worrying about how to answer the "how was everything" question from the owners, but they never asked. Have heard good things and other reviewers seemed to enjoy it, so perhaps it was an off night.

Wow wow wow wow!!! Incredibly authentic taste!!! Big portions!! Perfect for a food lover like me and the cendol was spot on!! My partner is Indonesian and she often gets homesick, so we go on missions to find food that replicates what she’s used to from back home, even when we’re abroad, i.e. Hong Kong or Malaysia. We often leave feeling that our mission was not accomplished. Bali satay house was the first restaurant that we’ve found that had that true nostalgia feeling for her. We may have traveled 2 hours for this restaurant but we’ll definitely be returning!! To add: When I visit Indonesia, restaurants usually give me the ‘bule’ spice level which basically means not spicy at all! For a white guy, I really love spicy food and can handle it better than my partner. I think the restaurant still played it safe and made it with a low level of spicy, so if there’s a code word for me to get spicier than please let me know lol My only complaint would be that you’re not located closer to me lol. Please open another store in West Sussex :) Just to add: the portion size and quality in comparison to the price we paid was gold standards in my opinion. See you soon!!

Después del trabajo. La comida era deliciosa, pero las porciones no eran las más grandes. Tuve una tortita de kimchi que aunque agradable no era lo que esperaba, algo así como una tortita. El servicio estaba bien. Los precios eran un poco caros.

I had an excellent dining experience here. The 2-course meal was reasonably priced and absolutely tasty. They even served free kerupuk (crackers) to snack on while waiting for the meals, which was lovely. I ordered beef rendang, and I could vouch for its authenticity because it reminded me of the rendang I usually have in restaurants back in Jakarta. I had mouth-watering duck spring rolls as the starters. The waitress was nice and friendly; the interiors were cozy - I especially loved the framed posters about Indonesian cities! I would definitely come back with more friends if I get the chance :)

Great food delivered on time and hot. Good menu with a great range of dishes. The heat levels are well marked on the menu. Staff are knowledgable about the food and friendly when they deliver.

It was a surprise coming here and not finding the place with the good reviews I wanted to try. It seems this is a new place and I gave it a try anyway. The service was prompt and the meal delicious, nothing to complain about it. And I have to say I always tried pad Thai in different places, and this might be one of my favourites.
