It is what it says on the tin. Friendly staff who introduced us to a new shot... Pink Baby Guinness... Only downside was the amount of cobwebs everywhere in the Gents toilets.

It is was it is cheap as chips drinks so cheap promotes excessive drinking

Stumbled upon this bar, nice place with lots of life and character. Be careful, when we bought the exact same drinks over again, we were charged more than the previous time and the server just shrugged and couldn't answer the question as to why.

Brilliant cheap bar. Great music and unbelievably cheap drinks. Guiness and Bacardi are full price though. Does attract a lot of students but still a good bar 👍

Well had a great night in here, all drinks a £1, although did get charged more by one staff member, but wasn't complaining at that price... Great DJ playing, great tunes, dancing, friendly pub, outdoor smoking area, seated... Doormen.. Great night, we went on a Saturday.

Not a bad place to drink, occasionally has some nice cider on. Has bar snacks sometimes. They even put free food on sometimes. There's a fit tattoo covered woman who works behind the bar

In the centre of Ripley and close to other pubs. A good selection of beer. It's been nicely restored with lots of original features. It could do with the seats updating now as they are getting a bit scruffy. There is a loyalty card which is a great idea - we keep losing ours so have never managed a free pint yet.

Did an 8.5 mile walk and had the best pint of Thatchers at the end next to a roaring fire. Great landlord who went above and beyond for us.

We've eaten here a couple of times recently. It is one of Mum and Dad's go-to places for family meet-ups. The car park set up could be better. You enter through a barrier, but if there are no spaces you still need a code to get out. There was some dodgy parking on the latest visit too, which meant the number of spaces was reduced. On both visits we sat in the little courtyard area, which is heated and the seats were very comfortable. Dogs are allowed, but my parents have stopped bringing their psycho dog, as she doesn't shut up! There is a decent sized menu, with good vegan, veggie and gluten-free options. My brother and sister-in-law particularly like the large pizza menu. I really enjoyed the fish and chips. It was the best fish and chips I've had in a restaurant for a while, and with a more than decent amount of peas too! It's not the cheapest place to eat, but it is a notch up from your usual pub grub, so the quality is there. The desserts are around £8-£10. I particularly enjoyed the tiramisu with ice cream and chocolate sauce. That rounded the meal off nicely. I definitely enjoyed the food here more than I used to. The staff were friendly, service was quick and it's a nice place to choose if you want a casual meet-up with friends and family or something more formal.
