Pound Bakery in Trafford

I'm old enough to remember when Poundbakery offered two pasties or sausage rolls for a pound but inflation has really taken effect over the past few years. Having said that it can still be a reasonably priced option for a quick lunch, depending on what you buy. After a bit of a wait behind a lady who appeared to be buying up half the stock (I hope for the sake of her arteries she was doing an office lunch run and didn't eat the lot herself) I managed to buy two sausage rolls for £1.60. They were fresh out of the oven so I had to wait a few minutes for them to cool down enough to eat but they did the job of filling me up. It's a shame though that some of their prices have inflated so rapidly of late. They had Manchester Tarts, a particular favourite of mine, but at two quid for two small tarts that would have cost a pound a few years back I gave them a miss. This just seemed to me to be high-end bakery prices and Poundbakery is very much not a high-end bakery so hopefully they don't price themselves out of their target market (i.e. people like me operating on a limited budget).

Their vegey sausage rolls are lovely, They sell sandwiches, salads, soup, cakes, etc. Cheap for lunch and treats.

Visited here today for a couple of veg. curry rolls. 2 for £1 is an excellent price and they taste great. Gingerbread is also a favourite for my kids from here.

Cheap and cheerful, lovely pasties and two for a quid which is fab..!! Great veggie options also. Only thing is the cheese on toast is inconstant and needs to be two for a quid or not there at all.

I think pound bakery is so clever!!! I’ve always been treated kindly by staff it’s a warm friendly place the foods good to me!! 2 for £1 you can’t get that anywhere else maybe the quality’s not amazing but what do you expect for those prices ?? Would recommend definitely

This shop is the best and cheapest in the area for a quick take away sandwich or paste. 2 for £1 it’s the cheapest and best in the area. Very hot and tasty pies or paste. Very quick service and polite staffs. Would recommend and go again.

This is a good place for getting a quick pie, paste and sandwich with a drink. It’s very cheap and nice food. The staffs are nice and polite and serve you quick usually with almost everything ready to go, so would go again and would recommend.

Reasonably priced Fresh & Tasty foods . Well worth a pop in for your fresh breads / cakes , Pies - on daily basis . Welcoming atmosphere Service with a smile , Excellent variety of all foods ..Definitely worth a visit,,,

I have seen in 2 Pound Bakeries, a staff member handling food with bare hands, then taking money at the till and then going back to handle food without washing their hands. I have spoken to staff in these shops, reported it to their head office and Environmental Health but I still see in Pound Bakery stores staff taking money at the till and then handling food, passing all the germs on the money to the food.

Bought several items here as snacks for a local hotel stay, cheaper than more well known bakery up the road, Excellent quality

Great food at great prices. Always got some deals on and they always have hot food ready. Would highly recommend.
