Junk food at its best, ok as a `dirty` treat. Nasty but nice. Not for the health conscious and cheap prices.

Most of the stock is only a pound but the quality was cheap as chips . My vanilla slice was a congealed blob - will not return

Where ever my husband and i are shopping we always look for a Pound Bakery as its always value for money why pay £1.70 or £2.50 in some places for a pasty or pie when you can get 2 for the price of one in all types of pies and pasties and cakes which are yummy

Nipped in to the bakery to grab a quick bite to eat during a shopping trip to Bury...was a little dubious to be honest...£1! what kind of snack can you get for that money...pleasantly surprised to say the least, sausage roll was boiling (just how I like it) and was really nice..as was the sandwiches purchased at the same time. Well done £1 bakery!!!

Ok so you're never going to get a Michelin star meal here but for £1 you get a lot, lots of options from pastries to cakes, sandwiches and salads. I highly recommend the veggie sausage roll one of the best vegetarian thing I've ever eaten

They do various Pies, Sandwiches & other confectionary. They are at a low price most likely they get their products at a good price. I call in at least once a week & buy various items which are quite tasty & filling saving money has most of the similar shops nearby are more expensive

Ordered from this place too many times. I was considered there number one customer.

⛔️ Do not park on the smudged double reds outside the take away or you will get stung with a fine. Either foot patrol it or park else where. The lines aren’t clearly visible on a night and there’s no clear sign post.‼️ As far as the food standards. This is one of the very few places that still does a whopping peri fillet. Every Chunky Chicken including the head quarters in rochdale has declined. This branch has maintained their standards and do not take short cuts.

Heard good reports about this eaterie and wasn't disappointed at all. Having had fish n chips in loads of establishments, I'd rate Thompsons a solid 9/10. The fish was superb and I liked the way the currie was served in a silver gravy boat which was a nice touch. The chips were nice but I prefer mine crisper and not like your usual take away chippy type! I ordered mushy peas but I received the processed type and just a tad hard. That said, it was a fabulous first time experience. The staff were so friendly and very attentive and couldn't do enough for you. I'd definitely come here again and would recommend Thompsons to everyone seeking a nice clean and friendly eat in experience. The staff said a cheery good bye on leaving, which made us feel quite special!

Read about Chips @ No.8 in local press (website) but only got round to visiting recently. It's everything I had read about. Superb fish n chips and all the trimmings (mushy peas, curry sauce etc). The fact there is a small bar downstairs (eat in restaurant is on first floor) meant we could have a pint of locally brewed I.P.A. with our chippy tea. Very cool. To top it off there is a large mural of local legend and The Fall mainstay Mark E. Smith on the side wall outside made this a memorable visit. Cheap car parking opposite.
