Pottys, advertised as a 1950's themed diner. Firstly, I must stress that the food was lovely and the portion sizes very generous. The major downside to it though is that it is made up of two areas as it is attached via an open doorway to a shisha lounge and unfortunately, because of the ultra-modern music being played loudly in the adjoining lounge, the diner is totally lacking any authentic atmosphere whatsoever! Yes, there are lots of 1950's type memorabilia and posters on the walls and ceilings, but the whole place is tired, tatty and in urgent need of decoration and refurbishment. Most of the diner chairs were damaged and our table was completely wonky. It is almost as if new owners have taken the place over and cannot be bothered to re theme it. The toilets, and in particular the ladies’ toilet need urgent refurbishment. Very small and no toilet roll holders on the walls in the cubicles, simply toilet roll plonked on the sanitary bin! NICE! Toilet seat hanging off and bits and pieces of loo roll scattered everywhere including all over the floor In regard to the atmosphere, usually in an American style diner, you would expect 1950’s rock and roll music being played and the waiters and waitresses to be dressed in clothes in keeping with the era. What you get is staff dressed in modern clothes, i.e. leggings and crop tops, serving between the two areas and a DJ playing very loud house music in the other room. Not my idea of a 'Diner'. If you are looking to get dressed up in your vintage 1950s clothes and go down to an authentic American diner where you will hear the likes of Buddy Holly, Elvis and Jerry Lee Lewis while you get served by a waitress dressed as Marilyn, then you are going to be sorely disappointed! If, however, you are not in the slightest bit bothered about the authenticity of the diner and you just want to go for a genuinely nice burger and chips then this is the place for you. Although I declined, the desserts also looked delicious and huge in size! Alas, as a diehard fan of the 1950s, I felt very overdressed and out of place on arrival and will not be returning. Overall, a real let down for the Rock and rollers.

Absolutely disgraceful. Horrific hygiene, customer service and quality of food. ZERO stars. Very rude staff didn’t comply when informed of the RAW egg whites and egg SHELLS on our pancake meal. Precooked CHEAP frozen chicken on the waffle and was very dry. DIRTY table top refused to clean and had to ask TWICE Waste of £40 will never go back never recommend to anyone. Do not pay these people they are SCAMMERS. The reports are everywhere.

I am writing this review to express my disappointment with the dining experience my party and I had at your establishment yesterday for Pancake Day. Despite our anticipation for a special meal, we left feeling frustrated and dissatisfied with our overall visit. To begin, I must address the quality of the food. The mixed platter we ordered was subpar at best. The chicken wings, while thankfully precooked and frozen, were disappointingly cold near the bone, indicating improper heating. Additionally, the tenders were severely overcooked, resulting in a tough and unappetizing texture. The use of old oil to cook them was evident, as it imparted a stale flavour that overshadowed any enjoyment we might have derived from the dish. The hot dogs were equally disappointing, with dry and unsteamed buns that disintegrated upon the slightest touch. As for the chips, they were undercooked and lacked the desired crispiness, further adding to our dissatisfaction. Regrettably, none of us were able to finish any of these items. Furthermore, the incessant noise from the blender used to make milkshakes was incredibly disruptive to our dining experience. The blender's volume reached such levels that it triggered a health warning on my phone, indicating a potential safety hazard. The frequency of its use throughout our meal only compounded our discomfort, and the lack of acknowledgement or apology from our waitress only exacerbated the situation. In light of these issues, I urge you to consider investing in a new blender equipped with a sound enclosure to mitigate the disruptive noise levels. Additionally, I implore you to address the shortcomings in the quality of your food to ensure a more satisfactory dining experience for future patrons. While my party and I were left disappointed by our recent visit, we would welcome the opportunity to return for a complimentary meal should these concerns be addressed. We hope that you consider this feedback and strive to improve the overall dining experience at Potty's Diner.

Just come from this place and what an absolute disgraceful place to go and eat, the service was an absolute joke and what miserable service. I might aswel of gone to a funeral because that's how it felt, I got sent the wrong order and the waitress got the hump as she had to change the order and no sorry or thanks or anything, I would not recommend this place to anyone, I'm so angry that we was treated the way we was. And I would give no stars at all. Do not go here to eat as you will only be disappointed as there all just miserable and disrespectful.

I would never order from this establishment again. I cannot believe how rude and awful the manager of this place is. The owner/s need to reconsider the level of customer service if they want to please customers.

I booked a table for 12 people as it was for my son's birthday and ordered 2 high chairs. When I got there, they said I only ordered one highchair, I said I definitely ordered 2 as I have twins. They had another family which who also needed a highchair at the same time. I was severely disappointed and appalled at the sheer arrogance and attitude of the staff like I had made the mistake and it couldn't possibly be the lady who took the booking. Not sure how you can expect one of my 1 year twins to eat without a highchair, not to mention the 2nd one had 1 strap missing. If it was not for my son's birthday, we would have walked out. It is a pity as we used to enjoy coming here but will go somewhere else now. The staff could do with a few lessons in customer service as they clearly need it.

Me and my girlfriend attended this venue to enjoy some crepes, we have been numerous times and never had an issue at all. on todays visit, we ordered 2 crepes, 1x curly fry and 2 cokes, when the food turned up, we had an extra portion of curly fries there which we were told we had ordered when we definitely hadn't. further to this, the 2 cokes had not been put through the order so we had to wait to have some drinks brought out to us. Both of these issues are minor and not really something to complain about or even get too bothered about. However, when I was eating my crepe, which was basically a crepe wrapped around a banana, i cut through the crepe and found a very large thick hair within the food. I called over the staff who said in quite a moody voice "i will just replace it", I told them that i didn't even want a replacement as this did quite put me off of my food. I had already eaten the curly fries and coke by this point so I was quite full up. They did take this crepe off of the bill, however there still was no apology about the hair being in the food. This again isnt that bad but all of these small error in customer service and professionalism have now made me question going back to the venue. Not to mention the fact there was a massive hair in the food. all in all i am very disappointed by the service and quality. Hopefully the manager can see this review and im hoping there will be some added focus on quality checks of the food and customer service training.

We ordered a take away my son has a sesame allergy so we asked if the buns had sesame seed they said yes so we ordered 3 burgers and one burger without a bun . We collected our order When we got home we discovered that the buns didn’t even have sesame seeds in the first place and instead of the burger they just gave us an empty bun . When we called up they said they couldn’t deliver so my so. Had an empty burger bun ! When we checked our bill they charged us £5.00 for an empty bun I had to give mine to my son and made myself pasta - terrible customer service and dreadful quality food - worst lunch I’ve had I. A very long time - disgusting

Late night trip for some pancakes, plenty of options and fast service. Quirky interior which is slightly dated but just adds to it. Pancakes and milkshakes were delicious

It was our first time going to Potty’s for breakfast and we were very excited at the menu. The inside of the restaurant is run down and the tables very close together. Although the staff were friendly the service was extremely slow even though they were very quiet. Once our order was taken it then took a very long time for our food to be brought to our table. The food itself was average at best, the sausage on on of our dishes was disgusting and burnt. Overall, I would not recommend.

Have been here a few times with the kids and it never disappoints! The staff are always friendly and attentive, no matter how busy it gets. Great choice for vegetarians. I like the fact that they don’t just do pancakes, other American staples can also be found….eg burgers!

My friend and I popped in here for the very first time on a Sunday lunchtime. The staff were welcoming and helpful and the restaurant looked super clean. I was pleased that customers are asked to sanitise their hands on arrival. We both had fresh mint tea to drink (which you can have with or without lemon). We decided to share a vegetarian savoury crepe (with mushroom, spinach & cheese) and then a sweet one (with apple, sultanas, caramel and ice cream). Turned out to be a great plan. The crepes were huge and really tasty. We enjoyed looking at the diner decor too (pictures, records on the ceiling etc). I will certainly be going there again to try a few different crepes, waffles or pancakes.

There is no ability to book a table and when we were told our party of 7 (two families) had to be split over two tables we were met with animosity when we objected. The food is very average and expensive. The staff are run off their best but are trying their best in what is a run down tired venue with little menu imagination. If you want chocolate sauce or gease on everything this is the place for you.

Nipped in for a take away, the staff are great with recommendations and very welcoming, the food was soo tasty and filling, next time I’ll go for the single patty burger! :D I will defiantly visit again when we are back in potters bar, thanks for supporting NHS staff, your Ambo drivers Kieran & Alex

Just come back from my daughters birthday meal. Had burgers and hotdogs which were delicious and very generous portion. Then pancakes all round, amazing! My little ones loved it and so do I. Staff were were great and welcoming and made a fuss of the kids. Thoroughly recommended.

I’ve been going to Potty pancakes for years never ever have I experienced anything like this ever in my whole entire life. Upon arrival, I had a waitress scream in my face from across the diner ‘FACE MASK FACE MASK FACE MASK’ repeatedly, she was louder than a lion at the zoo. It was so embarrassing and I couldn’t actually believe someone who could scream in someone’s else’s to get their point across. Terrible customer service, she should have approached me quietly not for everyone in the diner to hear and ask me if I had my face mask to then wear it. After this a manager offered for us to buy a face mask there for £1 (money scamming when other places are 50p). Fair enough they need to make money some how. Another waiter then tried to make me sit in a booth which was disgustingly dirty. It’s funny how these companies semi follow the rules but then try to attack you upon arrival regarding face masks when they cannot even simply clean their booths, I dread to think what their kitchen looks like. Thankfully they have some decent staff (the American boy) he is such a delight honestly. He saved the day with his amazing customer service. He is too good for that place! I wish him all the best.

Good evening out of our house so that our daughter could have a few friends in! No bookings, so we took our chances, and were lucky to get the last free table at the time we arrived. Staff all wearing masks (ok the usual one or two who left their nose out!) and generally felt safe with the kiosk layout meaning still had a buzzy atmosphere but whilst observing social distancing the best they could given size and shape of venue. Food was good. Big portions. I didn’t especially like the hot chocolate with cookies, but my son ate most of the cookies so can’t have been that bad! Made up for it with great big pancake with crispy bacon and maple syrup. My husband and son had hot dogs. Son then had a cookie dough with brownies and ice cream, which I got to taste and was soooo delicious. Big portions. Not cheap, but I felt fair for what you got. Great atmosphere, and staff were all really friendly. Thank you Pottys!

So I wanted a big all day breakfast which came with fried egg. But I don’t like fried egg and wanted poached or scrambled instead. Note that they serve poached eggs in the eggs benedict breakfast. Apparently they don’t have cooking facilities to make scrambled eggs and they can’t (read that as WONT) swap a fried egg for a poached egg. Won’t bother going back to such an unhelpful, unaccommodating establishment. Who the hell wont serve a poached egg when they have it on the menu anyway?? POOR. Food generally ok as was service but I’m afraid the lack of flexibility on a egg did it for me. Won’t return.

Went there with a group of 9 and was forced to buy 4 shisha even though we only wanted 3, took nearly an hour to bring our drinks and when they did they was wrong, rude staff poor customer service, amazingly overpriced. Go here if you want to waste some money

We stopped in here on the way through, a great find. The decor is American based and perhaps a little tired but don’t let that put you off.My husband had a burger whilst I had a wrap....both were very good, exactly as explained on the menu. We both moved onto dessert - I didn’t realise the pancake was the size of the dinner plate and tasted great! The staff were welcoming and friendly. Stopped here over weekend. We ordered a breakfast with a pancake! Everything was good and hot. Young man that served us was very attentive and friendly, could not do enough to please us. Will definitely return .

I came here for my friend’s name day and the food wasn’t the best. I ordered a custom American Pancake. When it arrived, it look great but when I ate it, it was all burnt. All I could taste was burnt pancake. The other people that were with me said their food wasn’t great either. One of them, who had the heavenly bbq ribs, said that their food was “disgusting, bitty and gross”. This restaurant was good when I came here a year ago but it’s changed and my visit today was not good. I hope this changes as the restaurant has a lot of potential.

This place is wicked. There is nothing like this in or around Potters Bar and that’s why it’s always so busy. Food and desserts are great. Service is 5 star!! A brilliant treat.

I took my daughters to Potty Pancakes the other day and although we go often, we had the best new waitress called Kandy. She made our meal extremely fun and interactive. My kids want to go back just to see her now. They shared riddles and dance moves and brought a lot of fun to our meal out.

Recently went to Potty Pancakes with my son. He had the Planet Hollywood Burger, I had the Popeye Wrap. Both excellent in presentation, taste and value for money (thanks to George the chef). Aside from the food, which is always great, the service was and always is lovely. Friendly and efficient, not often you find such wonderful staff who genuinely love working there, special thanks to Ruby for taking great care of us. You're fab!

I visit pottys often with my husband and 2 children and always leave satisfied. The food is delicious and we always receive great customer service. The staff are always giving our children plenty of attention.

I recently went to Pottys Diner with family. We firstly really appreciated how accommodating the staff were with sorting our little ones out! I also love that there is such a variety on the menu that you can eat whatever you fancy at that moment! I had the delicious banana in pyjama crepe but definitely will be going back for a burger! It was nice to be able to enjoy a family treat but also good to know can go with friends for some shisha and cocktails. Welldone to the Pottys team for making it a great all rounder!

I have heard a lot about Potty’s and decided to take my family there 13/10/19. Good parking facilities and a warm welcome was a good start.

Sunday morning and the kids were up and ready for Potty’s. We all adore Potty’s and have never been disappointed. The kids like Leo who works every Sunday. He’s young and ever so polite. He can relate to them and shows them so much attention. The pancakes are thick and made with buttermilk. I’m a vegan and they make me a vegan crepe to order. They really do cater for everyone’s needs and attract all ages. This is a fun place a very authentic diner with Rock and Roll in the background. Love it

Me and my partner visited potty's diner last night, we both loved the atmosphere and the menu! We enjoyed the Angus burgers, ribs and finished our meal with amazing buttermilk pancakes and cookie dough. We will be back to try even more menu items....

What is this person talking about. We visited Pottys on the same day, Sunday evening. The place was packed and yet were seated immediately. All the waitresses were friendly and kept an eye on the whole restaurant. Food was lovely, my hubby loved the ribs that were juicy and meaty. Our kids love Pottys and beg us every week to go. The owners are so friendly and lovely to the kids. Who ever faults this lovely restaurant that has woken up Potters Bar is dilusional. Before Pottys Potters Bar was a boring dead place to go. Love you Pottys keep up the great work.

We stopped off for diner last night. Despite the restaurant being quiet when we arrived, our drinks order was forgotten until we prompted staff. We did get an apology.

One of the best place in potters bar with great food and drinks! The staff, Elen, Ruby and Kandy were all very friendly and have great hospitality! Be sure to ask Ruby to make you a drink called the Dragons Kiss... by far the best drink there!

Have been to Potty's a few times with friends and family on different occasions. We found the food to be delicious and the service very accommodating. The choice on the menu was really refreshing and was nice to try something new. The American style bar/restaurant is really unique and decor is fabulous.

If you’re looking for a local place that’s open till late and serves great desserts with a great atmosphere then potty’s ticks all the boxes. I have been visiting Pottys for years now and the food and customer service never fails to impress me. I love their new menu and I can't recommend the wraps enough! The staff are always friendly and attentive, especially Eleni whose so lovely and always looks after us. I will definitely be back next week!

This place has the most delicious crepes. Started off with chicken tenders which were delicious and finished off with an Oreo crepe. I asked for the crepe to be slightly crispy and it was cooked to perfection. Shout out to El for making sure we had everything we needed and to the smiley male chef for the delicious food! We will be back!

This hidden gem that is an authentic American diner in potters bar never fails to impress. I’m a massive fan and am slowly going through the whole menu since March. From the amazing decor where Marilyn Monroe takes centre stage to the quality of food to the great service and family ethos this place is the best there is. The buzz in this beautiful restaurant is amazing. The owners have nailed it. This is the only restaurant that attracts all ages that are happy to mingle together. The new Shisha Garden is amazing too where you can enjoy Potty’s Food and shakes and alcohol as well as top quality shisha. Love coming here for everything and closing at 1.30 is tops. I thoroughly recommend Potty’s all day long

Came to eat here for the first time on saturday and have to say this is my new favourite place to eat!! I had the lounza and halloumi wrap with curly fries. The staff were so helpful in recommending dishes and accommodating our dietary needs! The place was spotless with the staff constantly cleaning. Special mention to lenny for making our visit extra special! Will be back this week!

What a place. Love everything about it

We’d passed Potty’s a few times and decided to try lunch on Saturday. Great decision, great service, great food (Marilyn’s wrap was lovely) and atmosphere was really different. Quite American. Made our Saturday after a hard week at work. The conservatory for the evening looked really inviting will be back to try that .

We came here for some food and shisha and we were served by an Amazing waitress called Kandy would recommend her greatly, she is the funniest and really good at what she does. The milkshakes at this place and chicken tenders here are soo good.

My friends and I came here for shisha, and the food is delicious, the shisha has excellent variety and good price, and most importantly, the service was amazing. I would like to name one particular member of staff who made our experience unforgettable - Kandy. She was extremely friendly, and catered to our every need. Throughout the entire night, she entertained us and made us laugh constantly. Without her, we would have had a completely different experience, and we will be sure to come back. Kandy is an asset to Potty’s Diner / PSG and should be commended and rewarded for this.

Greeted and seated by the lovely owner Kat! Ordered the strawberries and cream crepe! Food arrived very quick. The strawberries are out of this world! Make sure you add extra! You won’t be disappointed! So soft and sweet! Like melt in your mouth soft! Ice cream was also amazing aswel as the crepe. The whole thing was just banging! Customer service was spot on!

I visited potty’s restaurant for dinner with my son and partner and my friend, her kid and her partner for some food. We went in with no particular expectations as it was our first time but by the time we left we were sooo pleased with our time in there. To the point we didn’t even want to leave. We walked in didn’t book and was given a booth soon as we walked in. The food came on time, properly prepared and a great value for the price. From the The milkshakes right down to the pancakes. They open till late which is very impressive. We highly recommend it. In addition to the lovely lovely lovely food and desserts we had a delightful waitress, Kandy. She had just the right balance of friendliness and efficiency. She recognized that we wanted time and did not rush us. She and other staff members made certain that we had everything we needed. She chatted with all of us, kept cracking jokes, took time to explain the menu and recommended what she thought we would enjoy most and not only did she enetertain is adult she also she was so good with the kids, this is very surprising to me because my son doesn’t take to strangers well and he even let her carry him. She was like this with the other tables to. She's an asset to the restaurant esp for people with families. I saw the other waitress playing with the other kids who were too which is so welcoming. Need I say the menu for kids is amazing, great portion.

Had an amazing experience as always! Kandy our waitress is always a pleasure and makes our potty’s experience amazing, hence why we are regulars. Really recommend this place amazing food and milkshakes, good price and great atmosphere. I would recommend.

Ive come here a few times and ive always been greeted to a warm welcome and good food. A lovely waitress called Candi was my waitress and i have to say She's bubbly and lovely. A really energetic and easy going person to talk to. She made the experience all the more better.

I’ve been here many times and the staff make it very enjoyable, especially Ruby and Kandy. Outstanding service. Will definitely recommend this place for family and friends, for tasty food and drinks, late opening. One of the best milkshake place round here.

I love coming to this place the staff are from Greece and very friendly and the food they do is very nice not just ice cream but also burgers as well I like to get the millionaire ice cream

first time at potty’s and have to admit the staff were extremely accommodating, helpful and friendly in particular Christina and ruby. They carried smiles on there faces Even though you could tell they were struggling. HOWEVER the conditions that the staff all the staff had to work with was awful to say the least. Hot, cramped, sweaty, no air con and smell of oil penetrating the whole shop was making me and my friend feel extremely sick. These conditions must be awful to work in and I would not recommend attending this establishment! #poorstaffneedsseriousupdatingandaircon !!!!

Food is fresh and exceptional. The best eatery in potters bar. The service is second to none. There is no place that comes anywhere close to this in cockfosters, potters bar, barnet, cuffley all the surrounding areas. This place is a gem. Credit to the owners. Would highly recommend to anyone wishing for a fulfilling meal or a cheeky desert!

Great atmosphere cheerful helpful staff. Pancakes were enormous and just a bit to thick for my preference but well presented and loads of flavour. Well worth a visit

Having lived in the close vicinity to this establishment since its opening six years ago I decided I should give it a try.

Shocked and disappointed, I’ve eaten better microwave meals. Bananas were soggy and wet and our service from the waiters was absolutely terrible ! Will not be going again

The desert food is really nice, still i find the place quite over priced however I would recommend especially if coming with friends/ couple/ family

We visited here in May 2019 for my daughter's 8th birthday. It was her choice as she wanted burgers. I was apprehensive after reading other reviews, but we thought we'd give it a go.

This American style diner has almost got it right. The food is fantastic, a bit pricey but delicious. But sadly the child sized toilet is not capable of a normal sized adult fitting in, so you have to go to another business to use the toilet. And the customer service is a bit hit & miss, the parking is a nightmare. I would not go back to eat in but would to take away if ever passing by.
