Very cool concept! Enjoyed the tasty food. Managed to try the potato and cake side on two separate occasions now ! Both very tasty with extremely friendly staff! Harry on the cake side was very warm and welcoming and made me a very tasty Mocha with a cake to compliment. Defo will be returning!

Was surprised they did vegan lasagne. Ordered that and fries, with tea and soy milk, followed by vegan choc cake. The staff were really friendly and helpful and my food came within 10 mins. Ive been vegan a long time and am used to disappointment when eating out. This was THE BEST vegan lasagne and choc cake Ive had.

Great for quick lunch whilst walking around town; second time we have visited now and quality of food has been excellent on both occasions and is reasonably priced. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Definitely recommended.

I highly recommend this diner, the food was delicious and I received it very quickly. Not to mention the great value for money. Love the variety of the salad bar!! 100% will be back and I am now very intrigued to try out the Deliveroo service

Called in for a coffee whilst shopping in the area. Thought we'd try what looked like a new independent cafe. Unfortunately, although it was very quiet, we waited about 20-30 minutes for a coffee! Coffee was okay but don't think we will be returning.

We'd seen this on a preChristmas visit when it was closed. Called in this time and staff were very friendly and helpful. Not 100% confinced of the cake/potatoe split concept. But we had two veggie mains which were served quickly, both hot and tasty and at around £7 value for money. Forgot to take pic before, so the "after" will have to suffice!

Great selection of 'pick & mix' hot food on one side and good selection of cakes on other side of 'cafe' Helpful,very friendly staff. Nice coffee too. Glad the odd negative review didn't put me off. Worth a visit.

Came here as a stumble through Wilmslow whilst waiting for my car to be fixed, and we was starving and cold. When we entered we was immediately asked if we’ve been before etc, they told us how it works, basically it’s a huge canteen with what I can only describe as poor quality food. The gravy was like water and the food we ordered was all smothered in pepper. Soon as I seen them splashing the water on I was thinking about running off as I couldn’t bear to eat it. Most insulting part of the entire experience would be the price. £17 for two plates with mash and a couple of sausages with no drinks. £17!!! Wouldn’t go again unfortunately and can’t see this staying around for long

There is definitely more on offer than just potato and cake. Only popped in for a smoothie so far, but initial impression is ok. Will be back to sample more

I dropped in for a jacket potato at lunch. A number of fellow customers seemed confused by the concept - the big poster over a previous menu telling people to look at the new menu (a new menu which was nowhere to be seen) probably didn't help the situation. The staff behind the counter were flapping with a rush of three, yes three, individual customers. The potato options clearly showed a variety of shades of beige that resembled dry food produced by one of those "healthy" frying machines one could imagine being advertised on a shopping channel. However, the eventual service matched the food - bland. I heard my server - clearly disenchanted with his current occupation - discussing this a flappy colleague that there was no chilli left and not to bother using the phone to tell the kitchen as they "don't listen". It was then much to my surprise when I asked for chilli, he proceeded to fumble around to the serving dish, take off the lid and act surprised when there was no chilli in there. After staring at it, and stirring the half spoonful left in the bottom of the bowl I was told that they'd run out but he'll get some made up. I trust he didn't use the phone to tell the apparent vacant kitchen staff. Service at the till was however friendly, and I was brought my somewhat tepid meal to a table where I was waiting. The chilli - although flavoursome- was lukewarm - to the extent that the cheese put on top come nowhere near to melting - and the potato was still a bit crunchy inside. I didn't bother sending it back, as I can only imagine the frosty response I'd have received from my server. £5.20 for this experience? I don't think I'll be coming back.

I visited yesterday with my daughter she had cake and a smoothie and I had cake and coffee thoroughly enjoyed by both of us staff were very helpful and polite looking for to our next visit

Having visited for lunch, I had a jacket potato with tuna, which I regularly get at another local cafe in town. What a rip off! The price was high, just under £7. No Thankyou, I will stick with my trusted other local cafe. I am not greedy, but I am will never pay this again for a jacket potato and tuna. I want to say to the owner, GET REAL!

Had a great and very affordable breakfast at Potato & Cake on a wet Friday morning. Scrambled egg was lovely as were the sausages and hash browns - all for £2.50! Cappuccino (not included obviously at that price) but very nice and not piled up with loads of sickly froth as is often the case. Staff young, very friendly and welcoming. It has a Scandinavian feel to it with the wooden furniture and floor. Spotlessly clean too.

Odd concept that doesn't work. Went for lunch but ended up just ordering cake as the options were limited and overpriced. The cake was manufactured not home made, massively overpriced. Service was poor. Definitely won't be back. Don't think this place will survive in Wilmslow when there are many much better places - Unico, Smoke, the Old Garages etc.
