Poseidon's Traditional English Fish and Chips in Bolton

Food tastes great, glad I found this fish and chip shop that does gluten free , told quite a few friends

Order 3 regular chips, 2 sausages, 3 gravy and 2 peas to share with the family. Although the order was fulfilled via Uber Eats, I called the shop up to see if they had miss packed my order, as I was a regular chips down (bare in mind this cost me £20+). I was told in no uncertain terms that if the order said 3 chips then there would be 3 chips, was told to get a refund from Uber Eats. The fact the person I spoke to didn't want to hear me means I won't be returning. It wasn't a case of me being short and wanting money, I wanted to feed the family. Very disappointed and will not be returning, will stick to Bennets Lane chip shop in future.

Recently had to change diet to gluten free which makes finding good eating out places and takeaways tricky, then discovered Poseidon chippy and are so happy we did! Great food, and staff are really helpful. Everything looks spotlessly clean, food cooked fresh to order and they even have gluten free vinegar. Will definitely be our regular chippy.

So happy to have found, Fish that tastes as good as the ones from the seaside. Not precooked, but cooked to order! Just perfect! The staff were really friendly and very well organised.

When paying almost £8 just for a piece of ‘chippy’ fish I expect it to be mind blowing! However, it only tasted greasy and was razor thin. Chips were tasteless, despite asking for salt and vinegar they didn’t seem to have any on, they were dry and bland. Most expensive chippy ever visited- wouldn’t mind the cost of the fish and chips if they were high standard / enjoyable but they were quite the opposite. Wouldn’t recommend and would not return.

Called here last night for the first time but it certainly won't be our last. Love the choice on the menu. The place is spotless and staff really nice. We had jacket with salad and chips with gravy. We could not fault anything. The salad was plentiful and very fresh. Half way through our meals we both said we will be going back. I've been telling my work colleagues about it today and told them to visit.

To whatever person batters the sausage every time I write it in the comments on the delivery (some reason can’t find a battered sausage on the menu) You are an incredible person/s and I hope Santa brings you everything you want this year. Ps. I like the scraps 🤌🏻

Without a doubt the best chippy in Bolton, and their chips are vegan! Generous portions and lovely, crispy chips.

Found this gem of a place tonight thanks to Google and we were not disappointed. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and could not do enough for us. The fish and chips were amazing and cooked to order ,as was the chicken burger which I ordered. We will definitely be visiting Poseidon’s again.

Both myself and my husband are gluten free and do not know how we have only just found this place! The food was amazing, portions perfect and we could not believe pretty much everything is gluten free as standard! If you didn’t know you wouldn’t be able to guess! Ordered and delivered within 20 minutes and the food was piping hot still. We will definitely be returning and have even suggested to our family (also gluten free) to pay a visit despite living in westhoughton!

An absolute must! Friendly staff, fantastic food & despite a mix up from a rude just eat driver the staff were more than happy to resolve the problem -the food is an absolute healthy & naughty treat. The fish & chips are delicious & the curry sauce is a must, so tasty & different well worth a go. Thank you for your hard work. Me & my family will be a repeat customers x

Whilst the premises are spotless, I found the service & products available to be all a little false. Certainly the food is incredibly over-priced & very much portion- controlled.

This was our first visit to the Poseidon chippy and we were not disappointed. We have been to quite a few chippys that do gluten free and this ranks as one of the best, the batter was exceptional, you really could not tell the difference, yes it’s slightly pricey but this reflects in the quality, also do GF curry sauce. We will defiantly be back soon.

After receiving a flyer we took a trip to Poseidon’s and were not disappointed! The food was tasty, fresh and not greasy at all. The team who run things there are lovely and friendly and the service was fab. Definitely worth a trip !!
