Great hearty food off the main roads in Clapham. Food all-themed restraint with great, fresh Portuguese food and very affordable. Super service.

We were huge fans of the owner's other restaurant on Wandsworth Road, Grelha D'ourha and the food and style of service is the same. Great Portuguese food straight from the grill with excellent service. It's a chilled unassuming place with great wine and a good choice of grilled fish and meat dishes. My go to place if I want a nice meal in a relaxed cosy atmosphere.

I'll start with the good: this is a lovely spot a few minutes' walk from Sloane Square nestled in between shops on a pedestrian-only thoroughfare. A few dozen cafe tables, sheltered by big umbrellas provide a welcome to shoppers and tourists alike. However, service and food/drink is a mixed bag. Our waiter could not describe the ingredients in a salad on the menu, a different waitstaff brought the wrong bruschetta, yet another waitstaff brought the two smallest glasses of, respectively, prosecco and white wine that I've been served in a long time, and we eventually had to flag down yet another waitstaff to get our bill. The food (we ordered tomato salad with basil and a spring pea bruschetta with prosciutto, as well as receiving a crabmeat bruschetta by accident) was uninspired and relatively expensive.

Been there to try Francesinha and I can honestly say it's the worst one I ever had. One of them was even impossible to eat and the slices of bread were so hard that even with a good knife you couldn't cut it. And on top of this the waitress didn't really care about anything and was really confused. Quality wise extremely poor and I will never go there again and highly recommend to everyone not to waste your time.

I work near this restaurant so this place is not new to me. This is a very traditional restaurant and it's loved by locals. Always busy and lively. The only problem I have with this place is that staff don't speak English! You try to communicate and it's really hard and frustrating. I wish that the waitress would be able to explain the menu or to have a chat. Apart of this great food and you definitely don't leave hungry!

Really nice food for the price, and great and friendly staff. I had the Portuguese steak and chips which was good - HUGE portion size. However, wouldn't be as keen to come back for breakfast - they ran out of baked beans! Friends had tapas which was also really good!

We came here for dinner as were nearby and haven't had Portuguese food since our holiday. When we walked in everybody stopped and stared as it clearly is a local place with everyone chatting in Portuguese. We decided to give it a try anyway and the food was delicious. I had the chopped steak with garlic and chips which was enormous and really tasty. My partner had the traditional francesine which he thoroughly enjoyed. Don't come to this place expecting good service and a romantic meal but do come for the food.

Visited the Porto for breakfast while we were staying nearby with friend on a visit to London on our way to the tube. Had a very enjoyable breakfast. The owner and staff were very friendly and the service and the food were very good. Would go back again.

I ate there on a weeknight. It was a quiet place with a home feel to it. Its themed after one of the biggest portuguese soccer teams. I had the seafood paella which was quite good. Its similar to a spanish paella but this one has no meat and is wonderfully decorated by big prawns. This is a no nonsense kind of place. Hearty food with an authentic feel. Expect only portuguese beverages. Their wine seleccion is limited but a good sample of the por tuguese wine scene.

Whenever we can find monk fish on a menu it’s a bonus. Meal was served on a hanging kebab with grilled veg and prawns. Plenty to share and order with small starters. Felt like being back in Porto.

6 friends on our way to a gig at the O2 Academy, Brixton, got off the Tube at Stockwell to walk to Brixton, hoping to find somewhere to eat on the way. We stumbled upon Sintra, which looked interesting and were made welcome. The service was excellent, they made us feel very at home. The food was excellent, and different to usual offerings from steakhouses, ethnic and hipster restaurants. Portuguese, with plenty of fish, but also various meat and veggie stuff. We all loved it.

Unfortunately the steak was very small and not medium but well done… The atmosphere in the restaurant is very nice!
