Portland Hotel in Shepway

Great High ceilings well maintained clean room. Quite bigger room than other budget hotel rooms. We stayed on ground floor Room 1. My toddler did enjoy greatly just running around the room. Also hotel in great location, near-by the sea front with good walking routes even with a stroller. Would love to go back again if we plan to be in Folkestone next time.

Great value for money. Bed comfy and room was clean and spacious. Would recommend. No breakfast but plenty of places in tne area. The attached bar had a great atmosphere and staff were brilliant.

Visited for a Sunday afternoon with live music, really good time. Bit of a queue for drinks, but it was heaving, top local band really attracted a crowd.

Very loud, impossible to sleep. Drank people leave the pub at midnight and scream at each other for another hour. By the time they finally shut up I'm fully awake and can't go to sleep. The windows are old so all the noise from outside comes in, plus the water pipes are very loud as well. You might have better luck on a bad rainy day. The receptionist is very nice and even though the hotel needs a lot of work they try to keep it clean. These two are the only positive thing about this hotel. I don't recommend this area if you just stop for a night before heading to Eurotunnel. I won't use it again, it was a complete waste of money.

I didn't stay. The staff was polite but I don't like the hotel.

Perfect for a stopover on our way to the ferry or shuttle.
