Porter Brook in Sheffield

If you are looking for a lively safe pub with karaoke, quiz, live music etc you'll love it. Not for me, this is now a pub for mainly young people. This is not a criticism.

Nuestro servidor Holly era fantástico, nos dio toda la información y ayuda que necesitábamos acompañado de una sonrisa encantadora y un servicio amable.

Holly was really friendly and went above and beyond to look after us … even with a skewered for a toothpick 😂😂 thank you for a lovely lunch and experience.

Food was good although I was expecting more than 2 onion rings with the burger!! Service was OK . I felt it was a little over priced. The pub was really cold, I didn't take my big coat off the entire time we were there!!

Did the pub quiz on a Monday. Very fun and busy. Staff friendly and service quick. Would definitely return.

Nice pub, good selection of beers. However the bar staff need more training to realise that the people who have been waiting the longest should be served.

Stopped by with my husband for a few drinks and food. Great atmosphere and staff were great. Keira in particular looked after us and made sure we had everything we need. Top pub 👍🏻🍻

Food was really nice, but the portions are small.

Great staff, but a little disappointed in the food . The 2 BBQ chickens weren't piping hot and the burger buns were soggy due to the coleslaw being on the burger when served. Might be better served in a separate side dish...? . The table next to us had 5 student type customers , talking about vomit, and who'd actually vomited in a carrier bag at some time in their lives. Urgh....very off putting , whilst eating . We had a quiet word with them and they apologised, glared at us and took there drinks outside. Nobody checked on us to see if our meal was ok after being served the food. Spoilt our granddaughters birthday meal to be honest. We don't usually have a moan, but feel this needs addressing...sorry .

Had the Sunday roast which was tasty, and Keira was fantastic - really helpful and welcoming.

Servicio amable y un entorno lo suficientemente agradable. Fuimos a comer el domingo, que estaba bien, aunque las verduras dejaron el plato. Las zanahorias ya habían pasado su fecha de venta. Estaban muy sobre cocinados / microondas o anticuados, ya que eran literalmente esponjosos. Algo tan fácil de hacer bien, pero baja todo el plato. No quería quejarme porque con mi familia y no quería avergonzarlos.

Stopped for lunch. Very well kept cask and excellent choice. Very friendly staff. Food was excellent and quick. Can't fault the place. Prime position on Eccy road. Lovely boozer

Friendly upbeat staff, great atmosphere, massive drink selection and a food menu that caters to everyone! Good location to have a bite to eat and watch the football on a Saturday afternoon, especially if you don’t want to wonder into town.

Been for the first time today, had lunch and a few pints, food was fantastic and very reasonably priced! Beer was lovely, bar staff were really friendly especially a guy called Paul, will be revisiting again in the near future, thanks guys

Really do love this pub. Food is so nice! Definitely recommend ordering a few of the starters as small plates. Staff are always very friendly and welcoming and have a really good selection of drinks. Its all very spacious and toilets are always really clean!

What a truly love pub!!! On my visit I was welcomed by very friendly staff then to realise there was a charming young man with Special needs employed by the pub this was really heartwarming. He was polite and friendly and very helpful. Our food was amazing and the service was 5* I will definitely be returning. New favourite pub/restaurant.

I Came here with my wife and two teenagers. Enjoyable experience for all. I would highly recommend it. We will most definitely be going back.

Walked a long way to come here and menu wasn't updated from online version and much more expensive manager confirmed they forgot to change very disappointed Have sent prove to manager via email that old menu is on internet when you type in pub all prices like £2 more than the old menu you see when you arrive.

Probably the pest pub in Sheffield. We’ll manage by Paul and all his team members. The staff are very professional at their care and attention to every customer. The building as a whole is exceptionally clean and always kept tidy. The food is excellent that there chefs serve. I would highly recommend The Porter Brook door any occasion. Well done team.

Regular visitors to Sheffield and always make a point of visiting here. Excellent choice of food and drinks at reasonable prices. One of the few places that manage to retain a great and friendly pub atmosphere with good food. Give it a try 👍

Easter Sunday afternoon visit watching the Liverpool v Brighton game. Really good atmosphere, safe, convivial and friendly. Loved the Acorn Brewery Drop Kick real ale… delicious and morish… will be back soon 👍

Really enjoy Porter Brook. Been coming for a few years and the changes they've made recently have worked really well. New food is great, staff are really friendly and the quiz is fantastic. Would highly recommend.

Came in on Monday night to do the quiz! What a charming host Ryan is! We had some of the new sharing plates and the Jerk Chicken Bao Buns and Pulled Beef Croquettes are absolutely lovely! Very reasonably priced and dog friendly too! Will definitely be back not only for the Monday Night Quiz but to watch the football too!

Food selection ok, and drink selection good. Food tasted great, but I he server dropped a used fork on me, which was my fault for stacking the plates bad, however a quick sorry and walk off didn’t feel too sincere.

Great place, we loved the location and ambience, had a wine and some very tasty and varied small sharing plates, BUT unfortunately the service was not at all friendly or welcoming. This was our first visit, hope we were simply unlucky and the bar staff were having an “off” day. We will give it another try because the pub and customers were all very nice!

Bald gay Ryan was the absolute best foe service with us love this place bangin tunes the fibe is so good our range was 20 to 55 yrs he was brill with us all 💕

I visited recently with my family. It's one of the jewls of Sheffield this pub. Great service from the manager and staff. You can sit outside in summer, by the stream. You can tell it's going the extra mile. Movie and Karaoke nights, love the poster designs. Food was hot and fresh - beer great. Haven't been for ages, will be back! So friendly.

Recently visited for some food and a few drinks with my autistic partner, amazing staff and service really helpful and polite, the food was beyond what I'd have expected as I've been to worse restraunts! Found the drinks reasonably priced for the area and surroundings, lovely beer garden with river out back as well which would be a delight in the summer months! Can't wait to visit again. A merry Christmas to all the staff if I don't see them before 😊

Great spot for watching the footy and getting some food. Always a friendly welcome and cracking atmosphere, especially on karaoke nights.

Paul, the manager is not true to his words. Not good for the local community having somebody you cannot trust running a pub. Look elsewhere. Will not visit again.

Beware crazy priced beers. £5.05 for a 330ml bottle of Peroni!

Usually I only come in for the football so when England played on Monday night I was pleasantly surprised to find there was a pub quiz on too! The host Ryan was very funny and loved the find the paper clip round!! The other two members of staff were great as well! The pub was very clean and tidy and service was excellent

Great pub, wonderful staff. It could have been so much better if the food had been up to scratch. The meals we had were all very over cooked even burnt. Onion rings inedible and dry burnt burgers. My daughters scampi was rock hard and bone dry from more overcooking in old fat. I have eaten in many Greene Kings before and the food has always been ok, but this one was criminal. I know I should have complained but being there for only a short time to visit my daughter at University, I just didnt want the fuss spoiling my visit. Perhaps the cook had a bad day, but it wasn't busy and no self respecting staff member should have sent this to the table. On plus side drinks were good especially the draught ale and reasonably priced.

A lovely traditional pub with good pub food. Staff very friendly and accommodating (nothing was too much trouble). Was fairly busy but we didn’t have to wait long to be served at the bar or for our evening meal. Give it a try, you won’t be disappointed. 👍

Great place, good beer, busy. Watched Broad get his final wicket Vs the Aussies. Everyone joined in clapping. Shame I left my glasses there and have now headed home, 4hrs away...I'll be back in 2 months to find them!

Great for live music. The staff are sometimes a bit disinterested which can spoil it and the craft beer options are poor. There's usually a lively atmosphere.

Eccy Road was our old stomping ground in the 80s so First time back at the Porter in nearly 40 years. Didnt disappoint with great service, lovely staff and fab food. Thank you Porter Brook, we will be back!

I actually love Eccy Rd,so many good places to go! But Porter Brook have the nicest and friendliest staff working there. Myself and my daughter have been many time's to dine out there,and never been disappointed with the food or service we have received!😊 This has to be one of my favourite pubs,even if I have to catch 2 buses to get there! So if you love good food,and great service get yourself to Porter Brook you won't be disappointed!!

Madge and I making our first ever visit to this Greene King pub. Madge ordered a pint of Abbeydale Moonshine, a 4.3% Pale Ale. Claimed a CAMRA price discount on this lovely pint. A one room albeit doglegged room with outdoor seating front and rear. Not the best beer gardens. Music over the speakers a bit loud for me. Several TV's and empty tables booked for the footie play off final involving the only English team named after a Bank Holiday..Sheffield Wednesday!! ..Speaking as an old git, in my day you could not reserve a pub table, so we would be in 3 hours before kick off, drinking like fish. Now fans rock up at kick off, sit in the reserved table, and nurse one or two pints for the 2 - 3 hours it takes to complete a final. How odd pubs allow / encourage this? (Note..always check what time the reservation starts. Many times we have grabbed an empty table in a busy pub because it is 1 or 2 hours off the booking.)

Really nice pub. But slow service, since the barmaid with the long dark hair has left. I've been in today for our half lunch break and the bar staff took 9 minutes for us to get served (it wasn't even busy). Bring back Keira

You know what , even it is a chain pub the 3 / 5 plate deals are excellent. Good drink prices and friendly customer service . Will return. Highly recommended.
