Absolutely disgusting. Worst curried goat ive eaten in my life. Bland food with very little flavour. Do not waste your money nothing place!

Late even ordered with plenty of notice. Portion size was smaller than usual so disappointed

The food was absolutely diabolical. The chicken was so overcooked and dry and it was more a barbecue than a jerk disgusting.

I didn’t want to believe the bad reviews so ordered anyway. Wish I didn’t. What a total bump. The portion sizes are a joke. Chicken wings are the smallest I’ve ever seen, your 1/2 a chicken is NOT 1/2 a chicken it’s a leg. And our rice and peas came in a Tupperware half empty…. For £4. I feel absolutely ripped off by this place. Wouldn’t come back, save your money and spend it somewhere else that cares

Lovely food. I had the rice and peas and brown stewed chicken, it was exactly as i hoped for. Tender, no bones and not too spicy :) .

Extremely disappointed most of the meat (if any meat left on the bone) is overdone and dripping in oil I’ve ordered before and really enjoyed it this time has put me right off. And we’ve spent a good amount of money!!

Fun, friendly staff and delicious food! Pop’s Jerk has been on my radar for a while, but I finally got my chance to visit and I wasn’t disappointed. I ordered dumplings, rice and peas, chickpea curry and a drink. The food was cooked with some lovely spices and flavours and the dumplings especially were a favourite with me and my kids. Would definitely recommend, and will be going back!

The Jerk chicken was Delicious, generous Extra reggae Reggae Sauce. The Saltfish dumplings are decent but really tiny for 5 pounds not worth that price .

Such a shame after wanting to try pops jerk for such a long time we did an order today via their app at 6.20 for delivery and nothing turned up. After waiting for nearly 2 hours and ringing them constantly for over half an hour I put a complaint in to their app company they also tried to get in touch with them with no success eventually they gave me a refund as they also thought that nothing would arrive and nothing did. Sadly I won’t be ordering from them again

Delicious food and very friendly owner. A little gem here in Herne Bay. Generous portions and reasonably priced. Makes a welcome change from the usual takeout blah food.

Ordered Jerk chicken and boneless chicken. Both very delicious meals. The staff was extremely kind. A very pleasant and talkative man, who had the food ready within 10 minutes. I would recommend this on the service alone, but the food was also great. Definitely deserves 5 stars

No spice atall on the jerk chicken/ gravy, My white nan could cook better jerk,. curry goat full of potatoes instead of meat ,, not an oz of coconut milk In the rice and peas, and I swear man used black beans instead of kidney! . That wernt no Yard man food mate.

Love love love! Just had their brown stew chicken, with rice and peas. Absolutely delicious. Very large portions, and quick delivery!

Excellent food served with a friendly smile and nuff jokes. This is fast becoming my favourite Caribbean take away. Can’t fault the food or the service. Close enough to the beach front too for a quick or leisurely stroll along the water front. Located in the lovely town of Herne Bay, Pop’s Jerk is a lovely surprise nestled in the heart of the town.

Rice and peas was dry, jerk chicken was bland and had a sauce poured on which tasted of majority ketchup which was off putting.

So glad we saw the shop sign on the high street as the curry goat was so delicious. Very friendly staff, large portions made me feel like I was on holiday again in the Carribean. The sweet potatoes fries were also delicious and a huge portion for the price. The salt fish fritters went down a treat. We are looking forward to trying their other dishes :-)

I have never given an absolute negative review. This is the first and hopefully last. The meal we ordered, 3 mains with rice included was dry meat, reheated from yesterday, we hope, or whenever, dry, and I mean dry, chewy and inedible. This was not a cheap takeaway. Someone needs to inspect this place, it has no place to call itself a food establishment. I would phone with any issues but this meal doesent warrant a conversation. ( I have never had the need ever to phone anyway previously, but if you feel this is acceptable to serve this standard of food, I am not willing to discuss my disgust)

Fantastic place! Big portions, really tasty authentic carribean food. Family owned business. Delivers for a small charge to a 7 mile radius. The oxtail, goat curry roti and sweet potato fries are to die for. Friendly folks who love to have a good laugh with you. Must try!

I came in a few weeks ago after visiting Herne Bay and passing by. The food was outstanding. The menu has a lot of choice. The owner was really kind and chatty and explained a few questions I had about the area. Highly recommend this place.

Food is soooo tasty, tried various different things and all of it was amazing! Great vegan/vegetarian options and many meat/fish options! Lovely staff as well, couldn’t recommend more!

Just ordered the fried chicken and rice, was made in 7 minutes which suggested microwave. Had better fried chicken from Morrisons. Paid 10 pound but threw it away. I've had their jerk chicken which was nice which is why the 3 stars. Plus I complained and owner offered me money back or free meal which is decent so I'll get the jerk next time.

Myself and my partner just popped in after seeing the sign and now contemplating moving to Herne bay just for the jerk chicken and pineapple ribs! Amazing food, fab atmosphere and love the music!

First of all, really lovely staff. One of the chefs, Nicole came to say hello and the owner was really friendly. The food was banging. Real authentic Caribbean food and hands down the best Mac and Cheese I've ever tasted. I can't wait to go back and try their new menu.

Food was authentic tasty and good value. I had curry chicken, dumplin and was gifted a new style of Pattie served with a sweet spicy jam. Can’t wait to go back and try a slice of macaroni pie. Fantastic restaurant, fully stocked with some delicious food. Excited to find Oxtail by the beach, and the owner is such a kind man! Even gave us some extra rice and peas, packaged the food neatly and gave us additional tissues. If you’ve had your fish and chips by the sea, go here for a tasty alternative!

Absolutely beautiful jerk chicken and great friendly staff

After a day seeing my nephew me and the missed walked to the town to look for a cafe I went to as a kid. Pops distracted us on the way, and boy am I glad I dropped in. I have the jerk chicken, rice and peas with a side of plantain. Great rice and peas and side portion, the jerk was on point if a little to much sauce for my liking but flavour was unreal. Spoke with the front of house and he let us try some guava jam on the chicken…. Ohh lord! Can’t wait to try there fish Friday snapper and get another helping of fried chicken and jam. Next time we come back to the area I’ll be dropping on for sure

Secret menu item soon to go mainstream. Jamaican patty stuffed with Seasoned Potato and cheese that oozes out when you bite. Served with a guava jam. This is my new go to feel good food. Ask if they are available, and if they are treat yourself.!

Love Caribbean food but this was exceptionally poor. Friday Eve 7o'clock arrived to place my order, 8 people waiting for food and one poor distraught lady busting her butt trying to deal with everything, she was distraught. The owner should be ashamed to put her in that position. Another girl turned up to "help" but put the lady under more pressure. The deliveroo guy was told to take a hyke and customers milling around outside getting more and more grumpy. Unprofessional, inappropriate comments and poor poor food. Never again.

Ordered 2 lots of chicken one jerk one fried sweet potato fries and normal fries. Possibly the worst fried chicken I've ever had 3 small bits watery no coating and soggy he put in same box as jerk so was spicy which i dont like. He forgot the sweet potato fries but still charged £16 for just that. It came with 1 rice and peas and was over microwaved so much the plastic container had shrunk was dry and inedible will not be trying again.

The food wasn't what we expected fried chicken was barely fried and the mac and cheese was burnt at the bottom and was tasteless the best part of our meal was the dumplins there was also a item missing .

Stumbled across this place on the way to the beach and popped in for Festivals, fried dumplings and plantain for a beach snack and it did not disappoint! The service was quick and friendly and the food was delicious and a really decent price! Caribbean food is 👌 and they have loads of great flavours for veggies and vegans too
