Ordered chicken biryani, too spicy and had a food poison, terrible experience

Every time I come to this place the food is amazing, it's always hot and it taste like homemade food. I would recommend this place to my family and friends. Thanks poppy for always making great tasty food.

onion bhaji was greasy and soft ,chicken samosa had very little if any chicken in and again was greasy ,the biryani was reasonable but was not up to my expectations .all in all not a good experience .bhaji went in the bin ,samosa quickly followed it .

I ordered few items from their menu. I called the store to order food and the service over the phone was really good. They were patient , gave good suggestions and very cordial and polite. I placed order for rajma , jeera rice , half bread pakoda, chicken curry bone in and chilly pickle. They delivered the food in less that 40 minutes. Great portion size, homely taste and well packed. Rajma was great , jeera rice was decent and the aloo paratha and break pakoda was tasty too. The chicken curry bone in was desi home style chicken curry and the chilly pickle is a good portion. The person who delivered the food just gave it to me and handed over a paper chit with his account details he did not even wait to check if I made the payment. That was really nice of him and made me feel like I am back home in India. I will definitely order food from then again my heart and tummy is full. The portion size is good enough for two 2 - 3 people .

Awesome. Last Friday ordered chola battura & nan, it was Simple authentic, Really love it. Will sure order every week, but this Friday evening just eat stoped taking order for this restaurant at 6pm itself., was quiet disappointed as I was unable to place order this Friday.

I ordered food online, it was worst in taste and hygiene I called back the restaurant to my order, and the lady hung up my phone while I was explaining food is not good. Very unprofessional behaviour from the staff and food NO GOOD.

Authentic India food with timely delivery outlet. Food quality is mouth watering and dish quantity is sufficient for two peoples.

the curd that normally comes with the food wasn’t there this time so i’m a little disappointed and delivery guy told me to come down to collect. last time he came upstairs to give it to me but i would have liked it to be delivered to me upstairs.

first time eating here, was delicious. the staff went above and beyond and delivered food to car as i had a child with me who wasn’t settling! food was amazing! had to place another order and take it home with me! will definitely be visiting again!

Whenever I feel nostalgic for home-cooked food, I order from Poppy's, the taste is authentic enough, always delivered piping hot. Love you guys.

Very good selection of food and the tastes are very authentic Punjabi.... Food delivery was slightly late but quite expected on a Friday plus they did apologise for the delay, so no problems whatsoever.

Worst food ever. There was no food just sauce and water with some spices. Horrible will never go back there again and had food poisoning straight after eating it.

Ordered for the very first time today. And the aroma sent a chilling nostalgia inside me. Absolutely worth it. A must visit place for every person who loves authentic Indian flavours.

Lamb balti was like a thin brown gravy.

It's my first go to place whenever I crave for 'mummy ke hath ka khana'.In love with garma garam parathe ,I always choose to dine in and have them there.Love chole ,paneer and dal makhni as well.

All the currys were so badly cooked and tasteless which is a shocking thing for this takeaway 😔😔😔always had good food from here,but let down this time. Palak paneer was just bollied frozen spinach non taste. Razma(kidney bean) were undercooked and yet again no salt n taste. Kadhi was tasteless. The gobhi paratha was awesome and paneer partha as well. I feel a total waste of money this time wish i could get a refund or something for these currys Have sent a text to the owner as well🤞

Had placed an order from ubereats with them 7 pm today 19 April 2022. Ubereats provided an estimate deliver between 7:50 and 8:10 pm. Called restaurant at 745pm to be told it will be done in sometime and order will be delivered in ten mins. Post that there was no delivery and after multiple calls to the restaurant which were not picked up, I finally gave up and had to cook late in the night. Very poor and unprofessional. They were consistently late in delivery last two orders but this is simply not done. We have a 5 yo hungry kid today just because you failed to deliver as promised Poppy's!! Never again am I ordering with you guys if this is how you plan to treat your regular customers. Also I am reporting you to ubereats. Very poor. Avoid !!

Ordered Punjabi lamb curry through just eat. They have mentioned it’s ‘homemade’ in their menu. Must say it was not only very delicious, it was very freshly made. Will order again and would really recommend their authentic homemade Punjabi lamb curry. Only problem was with the delivery as it was slightly late than the mentioned time. However, it was delivered by a very friendly person.

Don't really leave many reviews, but I have to say I have ordered from Poppy's occasionally and never been disappointed more so than yesterday. The food was amazing, warm, and packaged well, and the delivery driver was also polite. Always enjoy getting food from here...10/10 :-)

I strongly recommend Poppy's because they go the extra mile in ensuring the customer is completely satisfied with the food they ordered and the service that goes with it.

This doesn't not look like butter chicken and and it doesn't taste like butter chicken at all. I have ordered butter chicken before and it was very delicious but today it was a disappointment. I called back to check if they got my order wrong. But they responded that they have changed the recipe and it is what it is. The person on the phone just said sorry and hung up while I was still talking. Not just bad food, very poor customer service too.

Unfortunately the Sahi paneer had a foul smell to it. Called the restaurant and they happily sent another dish of choice. Ordered Butter chicken was it not a butter chicken. Did not mention anything about it to the restaurant. It was alright but definitely not butter chicken. Naans were again like thick rotis. Very unlike Naans. Anyway first and last order

The food tastes so delicious. I have ordered samosa chat, Paneer samosa and chilli paneer from here. The samosa was so good:)

Chat is good. But biryani is too hard to eat

To start of the food was good. The pooris very just a bit soggy and the aloo curry which came with them was not up to the mark, for which I was refunded. The green chilli pakora were a hit, authentic Indian taste. The best thing was the response from the management. When they got to know I was not happy with my order, they rung me up and wanted to know what went wrong. Many places don’t do that. Definitely coming back. Keep up the good work guys!!!!

We have ordered multiple times from here and it is kind of our favorite breakfast delivery. We order at least once a month, because resist of Chana Pathura and Parathas from here. Amazing food with value for money.

Delicious food, and that sums it. As a punjabi living in Newcastle , Poppy's food struck right notes , tasted exactly what I wanted from a Punjabi takeaway. Brilliant timely service , cant appreciate more. Highly recommend to try Chole Bhature for breakfast.(Best Authentic Chole I have tasted ever since I came to Newcastle). Dal Makhani was pitch perfect. Will definitely give other dishes a try as well.

This place is really great. They know what they’re doing and what they’re talking about, and you can tell making the customers happy is their main priority. Food is pretty good, Indian food is awesome and some dishes like Panner and Gobi Parthaa are the best and curry and for their prices it’s 100% worth it.

Proper punjabi Taste very authentic !

Very authentic and good portions too. Felt very much like home cooked Indian food. Was a bit apprehensive to order due to the previous reviews, but this is now our favourite Indian takeaway. Highly recommended if you are after true Indian flavours.

Chicken curry was awesome but biryani needs some improvement..it seemed rice used in the biryani were not freshly cooked but could be related to its quality. I’ve been ordering from you for a long even I picked up food from your store last week so please don’t take it as a negative but honest feedback ...your food really makes me happy .

I have been in the UK for a few years now and this is by far the BEST Indian food I have had. Very authentic, I highly recommend it!

Very impressed. The menu is not just your standard one with loads of main and side vegetarian choices. The food was lovely - big portions too. We live the other side of town and the food arrived piping hot with really friendly service. Will definitely be making a journey to try the breakfast menu.

Although starter was good, main curries were salty and very oily(in-spite of requesting to be made with less oil). Please read the notes next time, before preparing the food.

The food was ok. Arrived hot. The menu could do with more information about the dishes.

The food flavours were good. There was a delay maybe due to weather conditions. But a free Coke bottle was provided for the convenience which was sweet. Definitely going to order again soon

Food was ok plenty of it but the madras I ordered was just hot no flavour and I love a phall The sundries were delicious tho Advertised as free delivery to £2.50 max I was charged £2.50 and under half a mile away!

Vile!!! frozen chips , dry salad , curry that rank a couldnt eat more then a spoonful .. had what tasted like a burnt poppadom for me tea 🙄 stay clear if you don't want to insult your taste buds.

The ticka masalla sauce was really disappointing with very small pieces of chicken, it came with frozen chips, rather than indian style as i would have hoped.

Ordered form the website. Got an email confirmation that order is confirmed and in preparation. The status was same In preparation for an hour. Tried calling the restaurant no response. Tried the webchat and the agent called the manger to confirm about the order and manager says we have not received any order. I have a confirmation email that says order is confirmed.

Highly recommended food it was delicious reminded me of back home well cooked tatsty big portions and the customer service was excellent a would definitely be goin back

I love this place honestly. The food is so lush. I moved here from Scotland not too long ago and I'm glad to have found such a good take out place for food. I would order here a lot if it wasn't for the delivery cost, which I know they can't do anything about so this doesn't affect their score. The food ordered tasted authentic. However, the dessert was a let down. The kheer was very watery and tasted like a poor rice pudding as opposed to having the authentic kheer taste.

Very good food but slightly more oil. The chicken tikka's would be better without the red color. In India you don't get such blood red color on them or the tandoori chicken.
