First time coming out here excellent establishment excellent service excellent food desserts look awesome would highly recommend a visitor to here

Lovely food,especially the fish and chips. It's even better now you can have unlimited tea and coffee and soft drinks . Will definitely be visiting again.

Went again saturday 29th march with friends for my birthday . We sat in the family area. The under 5s play area had over 5s and adults in there. The beef was very tough . One lot of green veg. . 4 of my friends who use it on a regular basis will not be going there again .very disappointing

The staff are very helpful and friendly and the breakfast variety was nice and everything was hot.

It’s fine, it’s a big chain and focused on getting bums on seats in and out. Bit smelly tired decor, didn’t feel clean Food was less than average. Great portions, no flavour. Servers lovely, happy to support and smiley I won’t be rushing back though, needs a refurb, and a new chef or two

Breakfast is good. The toasters are useless, it took 5 minutes for toast.

Been here multiple times for breakfast, and carvery Sunday lunch. Even had it delivered a few times and can honestly say I’ve never been disappointed. Breakfast is probably 1 of the best fry ups you can get for the money in town. Staff always friendly price is not an issue.

The staff were so lovely and accomodating, we came for a birthday and they showed interest in us and made us feel welcomed. Food is basic pub meals but brilliant portion sizes for the money you pay. Plenty of vegetarian options and even vegan options as well

Turned up with the family to have some lunch.. my wife and daughter are vegetarians.. but everything they tried to order was out of stock.. really bad, had to get up and leave in the end after getting a refund for mine and my aone meals.. staff were polite and even said it wasn't acceptable..we deove all the way from moulton to try poppy fields but what an absolute disappointment... didn't even get an apology from management or anything of that kind.. just had a young waitress say sorry.. to be fair to her it wasn't her fault.. it's clear it's badly run... hiw can you be out of EVERY vegetarian option.. well all 4 of them anyway..

Good value for money. Play area is very tired and could do with updating. Service excellent, Christie couldn’t have been nicer. Would recommend

We had an amazing time celebrating my friend's 60th Birthday. The carvery was tasty with a good selection of vegetables. The children's meal went down a treat with my Granddaughter. The staff were very accomodating and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. We had a most enjoyable time. Thank you Poppy Field Farm for the amazing time we had.

Nice place to have breakfast. You have the option of a buffet breakfast, or a small menu with other options like toast, avocado etc. Price is good too and free parking

Upon arrival we were promptly ignored for about 5 minutes with three people at the podium. Had carvery, beef was tough, Yorkshire pudding chewy, mash lumpy, roast potatoes hard in the center and under cooked. When asked how our meal was explained the above points. We're told we could have some cake as recompense, had to ask three times and wait 20 minutes for that!! Not a great experience

Ordered mixed grill , came without sausage and onion rings , asked young girl ( waitress ) she just stared at us , eventually moved went into kitchen bought sausages , onion rings never came , asked another member of staff she just replied ' I know nothing ' Customer service leaves a lot to be desired !!!!!

Great atmosphere with amazing food and humongous deserts. They are brilliant the deserts.

Fantastic food! Amazing service! The people is very friendly and really caring. The facilities are good and there is a children's play area. The carvery is amazing with a great selection of vegetables to complement really tender meat.

I'm not sure if me and my partner was unlucky on the day of 28/2/25 as the reviews appeared OK, but we were very disappointed with the carvery that we purchased, we spoke to a couple who frequaint the pub more regularly and they told us it's usually better than this as the beef was under cooked their was no gravy and had to ask and wait 10 mins for replacement, and my partner had to get her meal reheaded as it had gone cold waiting for the grave, so needless to say we decided not to have dessert so one can only assume we must have been very unlucky but will not return.

Amazing atmosphere and great service and staff, Mikey and Denise were very polite and welcoming 10/10

went there too celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary and thoroughly enjoyed it however the table arrangements for us was not very good as we were a family of four but our table could easily accommodate up to ten people and with everyone looking at us was very uncomfortable and it was the only thing that let poppy field farm down

We went yesterday evening for a carvery, really great food, great value and good customer service. The lady that served us noted it was our birthday and gave us a complimentary coffee. Not been in a while, it was a lovely evening - Thank you!

Always go here, have a meal & drink then on the way out, i get a strawberry daiquiri to go, they usually pop into a slush cup for me for take out. Today the "manager" advised that he cannot do me a strawberry daiquiri to go. I advised ive been doing this for months with no issues and have even been served by another manager also. Staff have even double checked on occasions that it is ok to serve it to go and have been told its ok. Today a different manager said its not ok and refused to serve me. Said hes been the manager for years and the other manager who served me only a few months. Is this based on his own policy or poppy fields policy? As all staff should have the same rule, no? Can't make it up as you go along. He was then happy for me to order a strawberry slush and shot of vodka..he didnt refuse to serve them seperately but begrudgingly served them to me...and he couldn't stop me pouring my vodka into my slush and leaving! So what was the point? Make it make sense. How ridiculous other than it costs £4.99 for a strawberry daiquiri and £6.50 for me to order a vodka shot and a strawberry daquiry seperately. So is it to just make more money? Is it a rule he just made up or are all the several staff that served me prior wrong? Then you now need to look at how flawed the "rule" is because I still walked out with a strawberry daiquiri but it's cost me slightly more and you a negative review... Added: I'm pretty sure the manager who did the above us the one responding to this review 😄 he's pretty much responded saying he made it up as he went along because he is the "manager" and can do so...and that's why not a single question was answered that i asked in my review!

Booked a table as hadn’t been in a while. I’m not overly impressed with the food to be honest. In the last 2 years the food has gone down market. Today the mash potato was sloppy like oatmeal, the gravy was too runny there was no consistency to it. The veg was too hard. The cheese cakes that were massive slabs for £4.95 are now 75% smaller and the same price it’s a bit of a joke.

A disappointing breakfast . Cheap catering sausages, the egg had a long black hair in it and the hash brown were soggy . I wouldn't be able to recommend it for breakfast .

As with all carvery's the food could have been hotter. Just my opinion, but it was OK.

Food was a little let down for a Saturday evening, missed side dishes and mixed grill was mediocre, friendly enough bar staff.. budget food..

Go here every Sunday for a carvery roast dinner, lovely food and the dessrts are off the chart. They do slices of cake that you could use as a car ramp there so big and have so many to choose from my kids fav is the Mars bar cake 😍

Took my Father in Law for his dinner and enjoyed it. Nice carvery and friendly staff. My only gripe would be they were a bit tight on the meat tonight, but otherwise good.

Visited your pub for the second time when visiting my parents, we all had Carvery . I'm in a wheelchair but there's plenty of space for me to get around, nice big accessible toilet, level access throughout these premises. Food was great, plenty of choice of vegetables and also other foods available that weren't the Carvery. Massive choice of food and drinks, alcoholic and non-alcoholic, plus tea's and coffee's

I came in to treat my daughter after a hospital appointment she had the curry with onion bajee and I had a burger and chips and to be honest it was horrible the food came cold the chips were cold and not edible the onion bajee were burnt and not edible and the curry was runny and cold the popadoms were burnt tasting so very disappointed I usually have the breakfast and that’s beautiful been here many times but this was by far the worst I have ever had such a shame

I found the beef tough and the vegetables, although plentiful, were not very tasty.

When shown to table, there were no menus, so had to get them from another table. Carvery great as usual, but the takeaway cakes appear to be losing flavour. In Dec the Cookies and Cream cheesecake was bland. The toffee cake yesterday needed more toffee taste.

We prebooked here for Boxing Day, there was 4 us for lunch, the staff were very friendly, we were served by Liz who was very helpful and nothing was too much trouble, Our food came out on time and it was very good, we also had takeaways cakes as well and the slices were huge! We would highly recommend this place and we will be visiting again soon, Thank you to all at poppy fields x

We were seated quickly, food and drinks were ordered at the bar. Food came out in a reasonable time and hot. The carvery was good.

Sunday 4pm carvery......small roast potatoes, many charred, some inedible. Sawed at the beef, then tried to chew it. Didn't complain as I didn't want to spoil the party . Full price paid, didn't finish it. Never again.

It was busy but we were greeted quickly and warmly and showed to our table. The carvery is of a consistently excellent quality. The staff are always so friendly and helpful. Just a great experience all round!

Our waitress Maddie was brilliant so kind and helpful makes all the difference.

Satisfactory, the buffet breakfast was pretty much cold. Free hot drink refills a bonus.

We came to poppyfields as this would have been my brothers 62nd birthday and I didn't fancy cooking As usual the food was hot, well cooked ( I love my potatoes cremated) and plenty of choice. It's great for my partner now they have the free refills for coke, I prefer a j20 out of the bottle, both were nice and cold. Can't fault the place. 😁

We are never disappointed when we come to eat here. We had our Christmas meal here for the 2nd time running and absolutely loved our carvery and desserts. It's the best carvery and food in the town.

Came here tonight for carvery. No mash available, veg rock hard, potatoes burnt and pretty much inedible. Couldn't even cut the Yorkshire pudding it had been sat for so long. Meat fatty and not nice at all. Been here before and it was good then but horrible tonight couldn't even eat it and just left. Not impressed and won't be back

Food portions for kids was disgusting ( this was a big kids double chips) Portions vary greatly and told by waitress this is just how it is ? Adults food had tiniest amount of cheese and sauce and arrived cold Will not return here all waitresses looked overworked and miserable Asked for manager was told it’s there day off and no one could deal with complaint

Absolutely shocking. Zero customer service, food is the worst I’ve had in a long time and don’t you dare try to engage with the carvery ‘chef’, he may chase you with a knife!! Would give this place a zero if I could

Was due to come on Christmas day however had to change to new years day due to family circumstances, they was happily able to do this request for us and was able to add an extra person on when asked. Had a very nice meal only a small plate but more than enough. Our waitress was Elizabeth ( Liz )was very helpful ,chatty and pleasant.

Prompt and friendly service. Food was served quickly and was a great portion size. Most of us took our cakes away with us as we couldn't manage. Would definitely recommend and visit again.

Poor staffing + rude - didn’t explain food wouldn’t be served but had to get it by given in a token (was handed to me saying receipt) When I gave the token to the chief (server) he threw a tantrum - and then handed me a plate which was burning hot (gave me minor superficial blisters) - as someone nearly graduating as a doctor it made me question if this was someone else could have ended very badly for skin. I act dropped the plate swearing in pain. The chief said “I did tell you - as he handed it into my hands” - I asked him how he held it, and he said my hands have got used to it being this hot and he held it in his finger tips apparently. I personally felt like it was done on purpose becus he was annoyed the token for the Calvery had a bit of gum on which I had act tried to cover up with another ticket on its back side. Regardless it was very very poor service. Was not impressed. Took a friend her for his birthday - would not think about coming back again, defiantly would not take kids or family

Just had a really nice meal here, chicken curry with rice and chips, poppadom and naan bread with mango dip. I eally enjoyed it, just a comment that the tikka sauce was slightly thin but did not distract from the flavour I would certainly have again. Partner had Louisiana chicken strips and chips and said she really enjoyed the meal. Really nice portions and very helpful and pleasant staff. Only downside I messed up ordering on the app at the table my internet had a wobbly and appears I may have paid twice, just have to see outcome.

We have been all family for special Christmas dinner Wednesday night Food wasn’t hotter it’s just warm and Instead of serving turkey and ham they served only chicken, he said sorry we have run out with turkey n ham, We didn’t say anything it’s just going with flow and children playing aria was no heating, I need to think before I go again.

Went today at 3pm, although Christmas eve it didn't seem very busy at that time of day Husband ordered a steak that stated it came with grilled tomato and onion rings, it arrived without, on mentioning it to waiter he said they don't come with them anymore!! we checked the menu and it clearly said comes with grilled tomato and onion rings, that's his favourite bit!!! Steak was cooked well done but no one came to " foodcheck" to see if everything was OK ? Thought that was standard? We ordered dessert, I ordered the chocolate brownie sundae but was given chocolate fudge cake, tbf the man that bought it out offered to change it but I said don't worry, but I didn't enjoy it as not a cake fan, my fault. The toilets were also disgusting, all I all a bit dissatisfied with today's visit Had similar things there before but gave another chance Not sure we,ll return

As always the food was amazing, unfortunately they ran out Guinness so had to switch to something else... Our food was ordered to come out all together as we had starters but the starters came out 1st and then our table wasn't waited on so we had to chase our mains.. a few of our friends had finished there dinner before my families even came out.. so the service wasn't the best but the food is too good so we will always return

Awesome Festive Family Fun. Had an amazing time today having our family Christmas get together a day earlier than normal and at Poppy Fields Far.. We pre-booked from the Festive Menu and to say it was awesome was an understatement. The staff were attentive and friendly especially our friendly elf helper (all dressed up bless her) and the manager who resolved a small issue we had quickly. You are all working over the festive period and giving up time with your own families to make our Christmas special and we really appreciate all of those involved. Thank you. I would definitely recomend. Good food, good value, lovely location and an awesome team!

Real disappointment, food was quick but didn't enjoy the meals at all, 2 people had Chip Shop Supper the battered sausages were so Hard we couldn't get our forks in so that was inedible and the fish was horrible, peas tasted like they were microwaved, dessert was nice but one lady black hair was really rude didn't even say please and thank you and was absolutely miserable didn't even looked bothered at all, used to be amazing now it's gone downhill sadly won't be returning anytime soon 😡

Came here for a works Christmas meal. Very disappointed. All started when we walked in the door. Asked if our table was ready which it wasn't. I didn't see this as a major problem. I waited to one side as we were still waiting for other people to come. Nobody came to us when it was ready and had to ask again about 10 mins later. There was only one other party that was sat down after my initial inquiry. We were sat down at our table and we went to get drinks, this was our second problem. The woman behind the bar didn't really have a care in the world. I asked her a simple question about soft drinks and the response and her body language were very negative. I was also given a warm glass. We received our starters and was not impressed. One of my colleagues had a maple-flavoured vegetable soup which looked horrible and didn't really taste of anything. I had some brie bites that were tasteless and the place had run out of cranberry sauce so had to substitute for another dip. The mains was a carvery which was ok, the guy doing the carvery was very generous with the meat, Yorkshire pudding and pigs in blankets but the cheesy mash looked and tasted just like normal mash and the cranberry sauce was substituted for apple sauce but still sat under a sign saying cranberry sauce. Dessert came and this was very disappointing. My colleague ordered a Christmas pudding but this looked and tasted nothing like it. It tasted more like ginger cake. I had the cherry Christmas bauble which tasted like nothing, only got the taste of the sauce.

A large party about 38 of us went in today for our Christmas meal, the food which was reasonably priced, service and atmosphere was excellent. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Went to poppyfields for my grandads birthday. Food was amazing and service outstanding. Poppy and Jacob were especially lovely and attentive. 10/10

Food excellent value for money BUT THERE WAS NO-one on the carvery for a considerable time and when he did arrive he did not impress. I ( a 74 year old man) was told off for helping myself to a plate and not to do it again I explained it was my first visit and there was unlikely to be a second. He made no attempt to recover the situation just shrugging his shoulders

Staff very friendly and good was served quickly and for those that had the carvery they said there was lots of choice

A tad slow had to ask re pudding Food was OK The vegetables were nice but Broccoli overcooked Meat was not as nice as the Toby Carvery in Hunsbury but the carver was much more welcoming

Hi recently visited your restaurant and experienced awful customer service whilst ordering my carvery the lady serving on the till was very rude with rude expressions and a very rude tone she was also tapping the till very hard and angrily will not be coming again her name was elisabeth

My colleagues and I was up today for the turkey and tinsel with a group of people that we support. Everyone had a lovely time. The food was amazing. All the staff were absolutely brilliant. Everyone loved the entertainment aswell.

Honestly amazing! We used to go Trading post in Kettering for our catch ups with friends and my daughter but after two years it keeps going downhill, food and service was horrible so we stopped going. I tried Toby carvery and didn't like that then found this place well we loved it! Brilliant we ordered at the table and can get out own drinks. Bonus points for the little play area kept my daughter entertained. Food was brilliant! Honey roasted parsnips and lovely Yorkshire's and a nice vegetarian opinion! We are now going to come here instead. Also now looking at booking the buffet breakfast. We live in Wellingborough so worth the drive in my opinion. Thank you so much for a great experience and please don't change!

The roasts here used to be really good, but every time I've been here the last three times, I have been served very fatty beef

Turkey & Tinsel event with entertainment was fantastic. There were 15 of us and the food, service and entertainment was exceptional. It was that good, the 90 year old's got up dancing and really enjoyed the afternoon. Thank you to all the Staff.xxx
