Popeye's Pizzeria & Grill in South Lakeland

Rang to order a take away pizza. Without asking for our name or number and before being able to finish our order they barked a time down the phone and hung up . We didn't no proceed with the order as imagined. We then received an absurd text with vile language blaming us for not collecting the order. We would have quite happily ordered if we had the chance to finish what we wanted or even left a name. Absolutely disgusting service and the abusive text message from the disgusting staff members are really quite somthing. Stay well clear.

I had a chicken kebab partner had a mixed kebab. Great service, nice friendly staff. Excellent food, nice mixed salad, lovely sauces. Didn’t have that usual greasy taste of a takeaway kebab. Really enjoyed it

Used this place 5 times. 3 times the orders have been wrong. I should have checked tonight before leaving. Tried to check what food I was getting but the shop was quite busy. Not returning. Beyond a joke now. Shame as most of the staff are nice & friendly.

Don't go it's absolutely disgusting food, cheap kebab quality and tastes and texture like rubber. It's cheap kebab meat of the lowest grade.

Order the chicken wrap and a chicken kebab. Kebab was okay, chicken wrap advertised as picture, it was literally a wrap and 4 small pieces of chicken. No salad. No sauce. Staff need training to the menu. Crap.

We ordered takeaway for an evening in. After reading reviews of local takeaways Popeye’s sounded good and stood out. It didn’t disappoint - very quick turnaround for collection - we drove up from bowness and it was ready on arrival. The food was lovely, tasty, perfect portion size and quality ingredients. We went for the Lamb Kofte - which I would recommend and the salad was ace. The service was great and the shop/premises very clean and the salad bar etc was really well presented. It’s a winner in my eyes and I would definitely go back again.

This place is awesome for great and inexpensive food. Popped in for a pizza. It was delicious and the staff was very courteous and friendly. Super place for a chill eat in (or take out)

Visited this place on 27/11/23 with my wife, the lamb shish was pricey, but the kebab was soft moist and full of flavour. There were two senior chefs and a young black guy as cashier who were all very good and professional. This prompted us to come in the next day i.e 28/11/23. We were very tired and hungry after a whole day of touring. Not wanting to experiment we went came back here and ordered the same. On this occasion, there were none of the guys from the previous day. There was a young chef apparently named Fatih. He served us 2 portions of the lamb shish very quickly. We started to eat and found the meat very hard. There were just 4 pieces of meat on each plate. out of the 8 pieces in total only 4 pieces were soft and edible. The remaining 4 were very tough and were very difficult to chew. We informed Fatih who shot back "what do you want me to do, I can't do nothing". We asked him if I could speak to the manager. He said he was the manager. We were so taken aback by his attitude we were completely stunned. We were forced to eat the hard meat as we were very hungry and the other shops closed nearby. After that we asked the chef his name he said his name was Fatih and told us to come back again. There was another customer/friend who he was chatting with him and they were both laughing at us. I told him I will complain about his attitude towards customers. They were both laughing at us and told us to do what we want to do. He then said " look you guys finished everything so please come again!!!" We have been completely let down by this horrible experience. We hope no one else faces this torrid episode ever. Utterly disappointed.

DON’T GO HERE! Walked in, thinking it would be a fun little place to have a calzone. I was wrong. I was hurried to order throwing me off. Once I had ordered I realised none of them were wearing gloves (pretty standard for food prep) That was the fire red flag. The staff were very slow in doing anything The head chef was eating with his hands and then touching other food. I was instantly turned off by seeing that. I was watching how they were preparing my own meal, hair nets but no gloves. The person preparing mine used the napkins that the customers were supposed to use for ‘cleaning’ his hands when moving and touching my food when moving from one station to the other. It was then I started reading the reviews on trip advisor and my stomach turned. I’d spent £12 on something I could possibly get sick off. From lack of hygiene in the kitchen. I grabbed the box and threw it straight in the bin, I looked at it before I did and didn’t look appealing at all.

Best dessert ever, I tasted in my life, fresh clean really kind staff definitely recommend it to anyone who visit windermere

Typical fast food place, if someone want quick bite at later time probably thats a place because other places are closed. The food very average and only cash payments. One off for us. If you can go somewhere else avoid.

Ordered a Bolognaise Pizza they gave us Margarita instead realised after we drove 10 minutes back, it was terrible greasy and burnt. The burger was awful and so were the chips , also they don’t accept card payments only cash.

Spent over £20 on some chicken and chips. When we got in the car the wings were stone cold and the chips and the rest of the chicken were well over salted and tasted like horrendous. Had to go and buy tea elsewhere STAY AWAY.

Flavour was amazing but sadly the lamb Shish was just very chewy and hard work to eat. Little disappointed as the chilli on it was perfect.

Friendly staff, excellent value and perfect food. We ordered a large pizza, small garlic bread and chips for less than £19 and it fed all the family.
