This order was terrible. If I could give a minus score I would. The chips and chicken were cold, the milkshakes were less than half filled they cost £5 each. The biscuits were rock hard and the macaroni cheese had no cheese.. do not order from here.

Disappointed with Smaller Kids Meal Portions I've been a regular at Popeyes Reading and often order the kids' meal. However, I've noticed in my last two visits that the portion sizes have significantly decreased. The wrap is much smaller, and even the drink cup has shrunk. While I understand price adjustments, it would have been more reasonable if the portion reduction came with a corresponding price change. I hope Popeyes considers customer feedback and maintains the value we’ve come to expect.

Went here on a recommendation thinking it was the Popeyes they have in the states. It's alright, but it ain't no Popeyes. No biscuits, no grave. A little annoying as they've clearly ripped the name off.

3rd visit. WAY TOO expensive for fast food. Hate the ordering method, it is NOT a menu, it's an ordering system. You have got to know what you want before ordering because it won't help. You could easily miss out & get the wrong thing if you hoped for a menu. I did. Disappointing food. Paid extra £1 for "cajun spiced fries" but couldn't tell them apart from regular fries, weren't labelled, each just as soggy as the other. Chicken was not very nice either, considering that's the supposed USP. Hateful environment to try & eat in. Great big TV screens with a 15 second loop, not nice. endless trooping n & out by delivery people, cold & draughty, dirty tables, uncomfy seating, just a horrible experience. I don't really do many reviews, but this place deserves the effort. We won't be going again. Ever.

The worst service ever from the kitchen staff. I've paid for my food and given the wrong order by thw kitchen staff after being told to wait 12 minutes then the kitchen told me to wait 20 more minutes for yhw right order after trying to give me the wrong order. Poor lady at cashier almost in tears. Whoever that guy cooking in the kitchen need to be fired! Never appologies to me, rude even to his colleagues. A secondary school students working part time will do much better job than this guy.

First, the pricing feels misleading. The price shown for a combo or set meal does not include a drink or sauce – any changes or additions cost extra. So, the final price ends up much higher than expected. Second, the milkshake was overly sweet—my daughter said it tasted like they went overboard with chocolate syrup. Third, service issues: They brought the wrong milkshake (vanilla instead of chocolate). They forgot the Flat White completely. Yes, they eventually fixed it, but it wasn’t a great experience. Hygiene was also disappointing. Out of four toilets, only one was working, and it had no toilet paper. The hand dryer was broken, which led to a queue. The only positive? A decent Flat White. The atmosphere was standard, and there were no unpleasant smells. Overall, we’re unlikely to return.

My friend got VIOLENT food poisoning from their RAW chicken tenders for 5 days straight. Horrendous and disgraceful are not even the words even when they dismissed this evidence and her experience altogether

I was coerced into leaving this review. The food was fine but that was weird.

When I ordered the food it said 15-30 min delivery. The time kept going up and I eventually received my order over 2hrs later by which time I didn't even want it. I am really disappointed the delivery time was not at all realistic or adhered to!!

I had a very disappointing experience at this restaurant. I ordered two set meals, each with three pieces of chicken and fries. When I picked up my order, each box only had one piece of chicken. The staff insisted that there was only one piece and refused to acknowledge the mistake until I showed them the order on the app. After some back and forth, they reluctantly gave me the missing chicken. When I returned to my table, I noticed the fries were very greasy and seemed overcooked, and the chicken wings were undercooked inside. I gave up trying to resolve the issue with the staff at this point. This was my first visit, and it will definitely be my last. The service was unprofessional, the food was unhygienic, and the prices weren’t cheap. I complained to customer service, but after two weeks of waiting, I received no meaningful follow-up. I don’t understand why so many people still support this restaurant with such poor management.

Fried were tasty, burger was juicy and flavoursome and the ranch sauce was bussin. The fried chicken was a little cold for my liking but all in a good first experience. Enjoyed this more than most chicken places I’ve eaten at.

I visited Popeyes in Reading for the first time and ordered 20 wings, a wrap, and fries as a takeaway. While the food I received was great, I was very disappointed to find the fries were missing from my order when I got home. This was frustrating, especially as I paid for the full meal. I understand the staff might have been overwhelmed with the number of customers, but this isn’t an excuse for carelessness. To make matters worse, the manager’s attitude was dismissive and unhelpful, which only added to the frustration. I’m not trying to create hassle, but when customers are paying for food, they expect their full order to be handled with care. Please ensure your team double-checks orders before handing them out. I would appreciate receiving the fries I paid for or at least an apology for this experience.

The burger was good however the chicken was extremely greasy and the chips were very chewy once I had finished my drink I was extremely shocked to find something gross at the bottom of the cup when I told them all they did was offer me a new cup no one went to investigate the machines or anything very disappointing for my first experience

I had supper here after coming into town shopping, it would be nicer if they had more boneless options available and included cheesy chips on the menu, but other than that it was a good meal.

Popeyes is great food, but they repeatedly forget items, major items like a burger or chicken

Food was fine, but a woman in a headscarf working there started pressuring us to leave a review for the store. She was telling us 'if its below 4 stars then don't post it' and also touching our phone screens which I'm not comfortable with. We tried to say "yeah ill do it after we finish our meal" so she would leave but she didn't get the message and kept pressuring us to "post a review". It got to the point where my partner just had to outright say 'please give us some space and privacy', which is much nicer than the "go away" I would have said.

Best fast food I have had. Fresh, crispy, and good portion size. Restaurant was clean, staff friendly and plenty of seating.

I visited Reading branch. Food is ok but the thing that disturbed me was the cleaner serving food on the table. I asked the manager about this but she said that it’s our rule the person who is in that area, serves the food. I replied but how can a cleaner serve the food at the same time he/she is wiping the tables. But she didn't give any satisfactory answer.

Terrible, the chicken in the burger and the wings all had a very strong unpleasant taste, possibly from the oil. Everything was oily and tasted strange, wouldn't recommend.

This was my first visit to Popeyes in Reading, and I was impressed. It's a great alternative to KFC. The chicken was high-quality and perfectly cooked, as were the fries. I had the spicy chicken burger box, and my son had a regular chicken burger; we both enjoyed our meals. While the batter's flavor profile isn't quite as impactful as KFC's, the overall quality of the meal is superior. The fries were especially good—crispy and well-seasoned. The staff were friendly, and despite it being very busy, our table service was quick, and the food arrived hot. The chilled music added to the dining experience. My only minor complaint is that sauces cost extra. Overall, I'd recommend Popeyes over KFC.
