Popeyes in Cardiff

Disappointing! Don't bother paying the extra for seasoned fries because they are exactly the same as the regular fries, even though I asked for them to be changed twice! Very heavily coated chicken! And the drinks taste like water with a tiny hint of something!

Sat in the drive through for absolutely ages with my screaming baby, unable to leave the drive through because of cars stuck in front of me and behind me. No one was at the first window to ask why it was taking so long which resulted me shouting out the window of my vehicle to ask about the wait. When I collected my food they didn’t know what my order was and needed me to check. There were about 8 members of staff frantically running around. When asked why there was such a delay the guy said it was the kitchen staff causing the delay.

Not clean at all, dirty, strong smell come from the toilet And as usual food is disgusting, lots of oil Bad experience Not recommended at all

Asqueroso. Bajo pollo cocido. Se le escapó a Cajun una de las papas fritas del pedido. Personal grosero Servicio lento - esperamos 25 minutos para una comida y cuando nos quejamos nos dijeron que era un caos en la cocina. Las ofertas eran rosas. Cuando nos quejamos les tomó una conversación de 15 minutos para decidirse a ofrecerse a reembolsar la envoltura. No se tiene en cuenta el retraso. Teníamos un niño pequeño con nosotros (nuestra elección lo sé, pero no era exactamente comida RÁPIDA). Vergüenza, no volvería.

mesas sucias asientos piso pero la comida era buena caro para lo que pedimos y el personal fue golpeado y extrañar la mujer detrás del mostrador me hizo sentir incómodo y no me complació en absoluto la forma en que me miró cuando le pedí un poco de leche azucarada y servettes falta de personal sobre la hamburguesa de pollo era encantador pero no ensalada y no mayo y también una chica joven estaba gritando y llorando nadie intervino fue apagado poniendo falta de inglés entendido o hablado

Popeyes had amazing food, it wasn’t greasy and felt healthy for a fast food restaurant, amazing customer service and we had a very helpful waiter Jane!!!!!. Perfect for family friends anyone basically. Definitely recommend!

2 curious adults who’ve never gone a bomb on KFC and 2 fussy kids (4 & 1) set out to give popeyes a first try so as we were heading to techniquest we tried the cardiff bay retail park (effectively grangetown) by IKEA a go. We had a warm friendly greeting and the young waitress was lovely, she got a high chair, filled the baby’s bottle with water and was all round pleasant and polite. The dining area is clean and bright with not a hint of grease or grime and the Cajun/jazz mix tape is on point for the theming. Ordering and paying is via a QR code and is easy. I had a burger meal, my wife had the tenders and dips and the kids had a tenders kids meal. They provide an activity sheet and crayons for children which is nice. The food was prompt and was fresh, hot and the chicken cooked to succulent perfection. The crispy coating on it is exceptional in crunch and taste - more subtle and nuanced than a KFC in terms of spicing but thicker and crispier: overall we found this Louisiana style fried chicken far superior to Kentucky style fried chicken. The fries are also amazing - thick, crispy and sprinkled with old bay seasoning or something similar which is a definite winner. The dips we tried were BBQ and ranch and they complemented the chicken and the fries perfectly. OK it’s more expensive slightly than KFC but the difference in quality and taste more than makes up for it. Can’t say anymore really - superb 1st experience!

Sadly not worth all the hype. My son has been wanting to come here for ages so we stopped while out for the day. We had the tenders box meals and we all preferred a KFC. It may be to some people's taste and everyone has their own opinion but not enjoyable for us

Nice food. Good prices. Very rude waitress with a terrible attitude. Because my friend hadn't moved his phone out of the way quick enough, the waitress slammed the food tray down and muttered 'christ'. Then continued to give us dirty looks for the remainder of the time we were there

My first visit to Popeyes Louisiana kitchen in Cardiff Bay Retail park. All I can say is WOW!. We were greeted on arrival with a warm smile. Clean establishment. We ordered our food using the touch screen panel. After taking our seats, a member of staff approached us apologising that there was a wait on some of our order. Basically instead of 6 pieces of chicken he only had 5 (for fresh chicken there was a 10-12 minute wait) We said it was no problem and to give us a chicken tender piece instead. Our food arrived promptly, with 5 pieces of chicken plus 4 tenders! Food was delicious, hot, fresh, juicy, crispy coating could not fault it. The member of staff returned when we'd finished with 2 pieces of chicken, which we took home. The member of staff was quite insistent, we have the chicken to take home, as our order wasn't correct. Refreshing to come to a take away restaurant where customer service and quality of food is of a very high standard. Would highly recommend and definitely will be returning.

Came here having been told that everything is halal but through a friend found out that not everything is halal. Went today to again ask them " is everything halal". Answer to this simple question was yes everything is halal. I expanded my question. Is the bacon halal to which the answer came as NO. Some restaurants use turkey bacon that is why I asked about the bacon. I confronted the staff member again. I asked you if everything g was halal and you told me yes why did you tell me everything was halal. Their first answer to my question should have been no. There is no sign anywhere that suggests that the breakfast is not halal. There is a sign from some halal federation that says this establishment is halal. That is false. If I cannot get a straight answer from them how can I trust them to keep the halal food separate from the non halal food. Are they using the same equipment? Are they using the same prep area. Obviously staff are told to say the place is halal even though it isn't. Angry that there are too many liars out there. I will avoid this establishment and also tell everyone that I meet to avoid this place. One last thing the staff member decided to be clever and tell me it is Halal now but breakfast time no. I didn't ask of breakfast was halal or afternoon meal was halal. I asked is everything here halal. Again to that question I should have received the answer as a definite no. I will be getting in touch with environmental health to make sure that cross contamination is joy and does not take place and also I will be making enquiries with the halal certification to see why they have given the establishment their seal of approval.
