Fish & Things in Cardiff

Ordered food and they can’t even get an order right. Unbelievable service. Ordered garlic kebab through just eat and for delivered garlic hot sauces and all the salad. Can’t even read their orders. Food was wasted due to the fact the spice was Unbelievable. If I wanted a spicy kebab I would have ordered it. Thanks for ruining my experience with you. Never again.

Clean and very reasonable priced

Nice clean restaurant. All staff are a little new which is no reflection on the food or service. I only dropped a star as there's plenty of seating, but too few parking spaces. The parking has caused an issue each time I have visited, also cars parked on the entrance road make it one way. I highly recommend the veggie wrap and veggie nuggets - they're a great alternative to meat - this is the future of food. Update: As if late the service has become slower. Still the same great food and service as the last visit.

So, I had to log in under another account to review the restaurant again in such a short time. Apparently, you can only pick on, sorry, review, a restaurant once a month!! Anyway, here you are…. The second half of the saga… And here we are back in the place of expectations. I must be a glutton for punishment, good job I’m not glutton intolerant. Well, this time it was ‘Beer battered fish and chips’ Best meal I’ve had here I must give credit where it’s due. But…… Firstly, false advertising because I got fish n fries not fish and chips. Most of which were hidden by the fish to make way for the two humongous pots and lemon. We’ll get to them individually. So, I missed a bit off the menu title just for this paragraph. The full title is as follows… BEER BATTERED FISH & CHIPS Mushy Peas, Goodbye Sauce - £17.50. Ok, but I bet you’re all thinking the same thing. What the hell is ‘Goodbye’ sauce? Well, I’ll tell you… Mushy peas… now, when the pot of sauce is bigger than the pot of mushy peas we have a serious problem don’t you think? Humongous was probably overdoing it somewhat. At least the peas turned up this time although in short supply. On another review of this place, they weren’t even allowed out the tin! Then we get to the lemon, what can I say. I reckon it’s seen some action behind the bar last weekend before it made it to the kitchen and then my plate 😳. The fish was perfect! That made this the best dish of my visits so far! Thank you and I look forward to the next unexpected experience next time I’m in. Oh by the way, for those still in anticipation, ‘goodbye’ sauce? It’s tartare sauce. Just call it tartare sauce you plums !!

We stayed here for a hen do and it was the perfect base. But what really made it were the fabulous reception staff. I had to have a parcel redirected to the hotel to be delivered, they listened and understood the issue. Kept and eye out for the parcel and when it arrived they gave me a call. We all had a lovely chat and a fashion show in reception so they could see the outfit that had arrived. They are such a nice bunch of people who really went above and beyond. They make you feel so welcome and are extremely helpful. Hotel bits: Room was immaculately clean We were situated on the back of the hotel (217) and we couldn't hear the noise from the strip at all. Perfect location to get to all things central. Especially if you are on a night out or want to shop. We will be back.
