3, bit more expensive than I thought but the biscoff cake and coffee were really good! Dog friendly, nice atmosphere just a little loud to work in

Coffee Tales is set in the popular Jewellry Quarter and it doesn’t disappoint, and even better, it’s open before 10 on a Sunday. the window to Coffee Tales is brightly coloured and welcoming and the welcoming inside was just as friendly. Worse thing for me is feeling ignored when I go into a place, so it was a pleasant surprise when my lovely host said “sorry to keep you, I will be with you in a moment” Coffee was lovely and good value, I also had toast and honestly 2 huge pieces of sour dough, one of that size may well have been enough. For £7+ in the Jewellery Quarter that is fantastic value. This is a place I felt comfortable on my own, but equally I would be happy to take friends there too.

Lovely staff, lovely food great teas and coffees , but clean up settee and cushions and wipes the tables etc. Would return but needs to be cleaned a bit more.

We visited today whilst shopping as previously been to sister cafe in Harbourne. The food and service was good but the let down was the cafe being unkempt. It was very run down and dirty. The sofa table looked as though it hadn’t been cleaned in weeks on the shelf underneath, the flooring was old run down and dirty. The “kids corner” was a few old toys in the corridor next to the toilet! The baby change wasn’t clean and again run down. It was a shame the venue didn’t meet the standard of the food and service. Could do with a major revamp.

Visited recently with friends and we all had a cooked breakfast. I have to say it’s one of the best I’ve ever had and the service was excellent as well. Keep up the good work.

I went here for breakfast and had a cappuchino and a brioche bun with avocado and halloumi. Especially the cappuchino was nice, with a generous sprinkling of chocolate on top and proper foam that could support the spoon. The cafe is very much what you would expect of a hip cafe in a gentrifying neighbourhood. There are chalkboards, both tables and couches and books to read. The other customers seemed to be locals.

Visited with my wife whilst having some watches repaired in the Jewelry Quarter. First time at this coffee shop. Quite a busy area and there was a queue for service, which was quite slow moving. Some people behind me actually gave up and left. Having said that the place was clean and there were plenty of tables free. The coffee and hot chocolate we had were very good. They also offered a good selection of cakes. Probably not somewhere I would visit again.

Had poached eggs on sour dough toast. Tasted amazing - yolks were runny. Everyone in our group was pleased with their meal - stilton and potato soup, also great 👍

We had cake, savory full breakfast and pancakes. Pistachio and pumpkin spice lattes to accompany. All was so good, would definitely come back!

I have been here so many times and it was a favourite place to have breakfast with friends. But today will be my last and final visit .. let me tell you why .. it was busy .. I went to sit in only available table when I was abruptly told by female staff you can’t sit down you have to join queue order food then try to find somewhere to sit !!!!!WHAT !! What a crazy system. So you queue for 20 mins order breakfast then stand up to eat !!! Then whilst I reluctantly joined the queue 3 guys walked in with dogs and sat down on the table I was going to sit on … the abrupt female staff member said nothing to them .. I asked them have you reserved booked the table .. no they reply !!! I’m Furious .. despite driving especially to eat there , paying 2 hours parking I left .. disgusted NEVER to return

Popped in with eldest for a spot of lunch. Excellent portion size and food quality. We had an omelette and salad with a veggie sausage toastie and fries. Food was hot, delicious and salad was very fresh.

I have been visiting this cafe regularly for several years and the reason I keep returning is because of the great food, friendly staff, superb environment and the wide selection of hand made cakes. Its my favourite brunch spot in the JQ and I don't believe I have ever had a bad experience there. Absolutely love it.

Used to be a great place to eat/socialise. However this is the 3rd time I've been disappointed. I hate bad reviews but unless you supply things wont change. 1. No proper ventilation is the cafe - windows steamed up - couldnt breathe properly...I'm thinking of germs 2. Two dogs in cafe barking constantly - no objection to dogs but then when the owner was allowed to go to counter with one dog who sneezed over cakes - not good. 3. Once again table were not clean - they were not busy. 4. Argument with cook and front of house - not good. 5. Food not as good quality as before. Reduced bread allocation. 6. Final straw the toilet was dirty - looked like it hadnt been cleaned all day!

Excellent lunch stop in the Jewellery Quarter...just happened to be passing by and thought we'd stop for lunch...really glad we did. Good food, large pot of tea for two, great service and quick...highly recommended

Friendly and welcoming, with gluten free and vegan options. I wish I'd taken a photo of my cinnamon bun with cream cheese frosting - it was huge and delicious. My friend had the lemon curd cake which was equally delicious. We'd gone in as part of a mystery picnic (we got a ceasar salad) but the cakes looked so amazing we stayed and met two lovely locals and the very friendly dog they were looking after. I wouldn't hesitate to return and recommend to others.

A superb kick start to our day. Hearty food, beautifully prepared and presented. A kind, easy atmosphere. Unfussy and professional, while still managing warmth and welcome. Outstanding cooked breakfast, porridge, coffee , tea, smoothies… highly recommend.

Over the past two years we have made several research trips to the Jewellery Quarter. On our first rip we found this coffee shop. It is not large but it has a selection of seating inside and tables and chairs outside. The usual coffee & tea selection is available but its USP is its cakes. These range from classic like lemon drizzle to the seriously unusual. Service is friendly and they do have a loyalty card

We ordered a cake for my sons birthday. In one slice we found 4 animal hairs in the sponge and icing. I emailed and spoke to the owner and returned the cake. He said no hair was found in the rest of the cake which is find hard to believe. He then said I used it as an excuse to get a refund. I was and am disgusted at not only receive a birthday cake full of animal hair, but also the dishonesty and rude tone of the owner. Avoid this place!

Enjoyed a delicious and huge slice of homemade cake with a cup of tea after visiting the Evans Silver Factory nearby The warmest welcome even though it was after 5pm when all the other cafes in the area were shutting up shop. Excellent selection of cakes and a very interesting menu with all looking very fresh and natural Couldn't have asked for more and will recommended to friends and family nearby

Comfortable atmosphere, with a mix of people: mums and babies, business people shoppers, friends, retired folk, etc. Lovely big pot of tea (for 2). Delicious food. We had wraps but noticed others with toasties, cake, etc. Pleasant service.

Favourite café in JQ!! Staff are always so pleasant and welcoming. Lots of food on the menu to choose from. We went for the chicken fajita wrap and the bacon and brie toastie. Great portion sizes! Coffee is always great and plenty of milk alternatives...

Bought a chai latte with coconut milk, and they don’t even tell you that they charge you for the milk 🙄 and it wasn’t even nice what a waste !

Perfect coconut flat white, delicious chipotle chicken toastie, everywhere very clean and the staff all super friendly and helpful even when it was really busy. Couldn’t fault it and will be back!!

Me and my family had a lovely lunch here, with really lovely food (fajita wrap was amazing), then I sat with a book for another hour with a book and coffee. Really lovely (and safe feeling) atmosphere, fab staff, and an altogether excellent experience.

An amazing find in the Jewellery Quarter in Birmingham. Mr Dormouse said he had eaten in a nice place in the area, and he thought it might be this one. Its hard to think of things to add to all those lovely reviews but the sense of a welcoming living room is bang on and the attention to small detail carries through to many areas including loo a check all is well with the meal. In a small space, these nice people have captured the essence of hygge and gemutlichkeit. This carries through to prebooked tables with prebooked orders ( clearly regulars). Seating is a mix of chairs and tables and sofas/ armchairs and lower tables. A good place for a meet-up and a good mix of clientele. Plus the food is delicious. We ate an avocado toast (epic) and Mr Dormouse devoured an all day breakfast. Good range of coffees and teas ..and then there are the freshly made cakes! Fortunately, I am trying to lose my hibernation weight, so I resisted but an impressive range with gluten free options. So yes, a good find though recommending the stars makes me hope there is still space when we go back. Thank you !

This place is like walking into your own living room. Staff are warm and friendly and can’t do enough to make you feel welcome. They’re dog friendly and child friendly too. Food is lovely and made promptly as are drinks and cakes. Don’t expect coffee snobbery but a quality coffee nonetheless.

Coffee Tales is a great cafe for drinks, toasties, sandwiches, jacket potatoes, and desserts. We came in for dessert. We had an almond cake slice and took a chickpea blondie home. The almond cake slice was decadent. The chickpea blonde looked amazing. I came across someone who needed it more than I did on my way to the car. I didn’t get to taste it but the person I gave it too, loved it. Coffee Tales is a great place to meet up with friends. They have comfortable couches and many tables inside and outdoors. The staff at Coffee Table is every so friendly and helpful. We are definitely coming back next time we are in the area.

Very welcoming cafe with excellent cakes and delicious brunch. The pancakes were lovely and beautifully presented. Good coffee and tea too. Extremely baby friendly, spacious for Prams, kids corner filled with toys, high chair and well equipped baby change. Will definitely visit again

El personal es alegre y amable, los pasteles y pasteles se ven encantadores (para la próxima vez ...). Es fácil ver por qué es un lugar tan popular.

Somos visitantes habituales y "locales", nos sentimos invitados de honor. Los encantadores propietarios David y Kathy. Nada es mucho problema. Los pasteles de Kathy son de primera clase, el café es bueno, aunque un poco caro para la zona. Ambiente muy amable. Un poco como un club social para algunas empresas locales, pero los turistas son bienvenidos.

They do a really good range of lunches and are very accommodating if you want something slightly different. It does get a little packed and the service can then be slow and a bit frenetic.

This has become my new favourite go to place for coffee and cake. The homemade cakes are always delicious! They even allow dogs in which is handy. Been coming here weekly and always have a positive experience, food, coffee and service always fantastic. Its so good it gets busy on peak times.

So a trip to the Jewellery Quarter to browse rings resulted in a visit to coffee tales.

The quality of the coffee alone would be enough to earn Coffee Tales 5 stars in my book - the lovely staff, yummy cakes, tasty freshly made food, great ambience - those are just a welcome bonus!

I love this place! The staff are all super friendly the food is great! I would highly recommend the B.E.L.T and the cakes are to die for!! Especially the salted caramel banana loaf!!! It’s AMAZING!

We have been going to Coffee Tales for well over a year now. There is so many reasons why we come back! The place is nothing short of cozy and welcoming. The decor is cheery and welcoming and so are the staff! You will often see one of the owners behind the counter greeting people or baking the freshly made cakes in the back. They are all delicious but coffee is our favourite. I have never once had an issue with any of my food or coffee and they will work with whatever little extras or changes you want. Caters to a wide range gluten free, vegan, vegetarian etc with a wide range of food and drinks. They also have a kids corner which is a brilliant idea for family's. It has a large chalkboard, books and toys for children so you can enjoy your tea/coffee/food and they can enjoy their time here as well. We have come to really love coffee tales and see the staff like family as we are always greeted with a handshake or cheery hello. It's our favourite place to go and hope to enjoy many more amazing meals and friendly chats here.

Even after totally messing up the first time I came to this place I decided to come again. What a waste of time pathetic customer service make you wait an eternity and then have to come and ask you to confirm the order who does that?? I’ve given this place Two chances and both times the experience has left a bitter taste in my mouth.

We live in jewellery quarter and regularly visit coffee shops in the area and wanted to try this place however the coffee wasn’t great and sadly the food wasn’t much better. I ordered pancakes with syrup, the pancakes were hard (they broke in half like biscuits) and the coffee was not to the standard I would expect from the area, knowing local coffee shops like Saints & Quarter Horse coffee is outstanding we expected the same. The waitress was rude to us when we walked in and the cutlery was dirty.

Just been here for coffee and it was amazing! We have a 13 month old and she was well catered for nothing felt like too much trouble. I love the fact that they have small toys and books to keep the little ones entertained. My husband and I had a bacon and sausage roll which was delicious and the coffee!! I’m not a huge coffee fan but the mocha was absolutely gorgeous we are thinking of heading back this afternoon as we were that impressed will definitely be returning after this too - lovely customer service and great food and coffee what’s not to love! Also sorry to the member of staff that only got a Cheerio from my daughter!

So, so clean. Really comfortable, great coffee and really well kept. Staff were so kind and helpful. Food was so good. Really worth a visit. Delicious cakes and sandwiches. Our dog even got some yummy biscuits and water.

Dropped into coffee tales today with my daughter, outside lunchtime rush so it was quiet. We were served promptly by a very pleasant member of staff, who was friendly and polite. Got exactly what we asked for quickly and with a smile.

I love this place! Everything from the crockery, to the selection of teas and cakes is really well-considered and the service is excellent. Highly recommended for brunch, lunch and a giant takeaway cake for later.

Frequently visit this cosy coffeehouse. Absolutely adore their selection of cakes that are baked in house with a bunch of options suiting everyone’s dietary needs! :) Would definitely recommend if you’re in JQ!

Lovely cafe, all of the cakes looked amazing. Food a little highly priced but it’s the jewellery quarter so in keeping with the other cafes in the area. I stayed for quite a while and the staff were really nice and accommodating to all of the customers that came in. Quick to offer free samples to help people decide.

Take away breakfasts again are nicely prepared and in a timely fashion. I'm a local and I'm biased.. but lucky to live next to such a friendly cafe

Stopped here for lunch. Run by helpful and friendly young staff. Coffee excellent. Some pretty exotic cakes. Homemade mushroom soup was excellent. A much better bet than heading for city centre boring chain restaurants.

We popped into the coffee shop whilst browsing the shops. such a lovely find. and they do a variety of diary free milk which was perfect. The cakes are amazing so my husband told me. They do various cakes to suit your dietary requirements. Lovely rustic setting. comfy chairs. will definitely be back.

Ordered two vegetarian breakfasts, we sat down waited waited waited only to find out half an hour later they had forgot about our order yet everyone else who had ordered after us seemed to have received there orders, was offered a pathetic attempt at an apology. Very negative outlook for the place seeing as though I am a new business tenant local to this cafe who would have visited on a regular basis but won’t be. Customer service is appalling could do with going on a course for this as well as customer appeasement
