Polpo Chelsea in Kensington and Chelsea

Unfortunately, the table service doesn't match the rest of the restaurant. It ruined my evening, as the young, short lady with extensions seemed to be in a bad mood and not interested in her job. The service doesn't match the price. I won't be going back. ☹️

The spinach pizette was delicious.

Was chargedv£15 for a seafood regular which consisted of 2 prawns 3 class and 2 spoonfuls of pasta to say this was a rip off is an understatement

We were very well received. Eirini made us feel super comfortable, she is very friendly and attentive. The food it is super delicious, and want to congratulate all the kitchen staff. Definitely would recommend this restaurant

Wonderful cicheti food restaurant. The service was very attentive (thank you Chirag for the surprise birthday cake!). I appreciated they spontaneously suggested testing a couple of wines as I was hesitating. They were also very attentive to my daughter’s allergy requirements. Oh and the food was top notch. We’ll come back

No focaccia available - zucchini fries were cold strips of basically batter - crostino was ok but literally one small piece of french bread with pate - slow service - weird toilets that opened out into the restaurant so hand drying was basically blown into the room. Would not venture back despite outside seating area looking inviting. Very disappointing experience.

The food felt tired...nothing outstanding amongst the 9 dishes we ordered and many were cold (courgette fries) and overcooked(bavette). Staff were fine and the dining room has a good feel.

Polpo Restaurant in Sloane Square is a charming spot worth trying. I visited with friends, including one who brought along her 2-year-old daughter, and the atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming for everyone. We ordered a selection of pizzettas, snacks, and the octopus—the pizzettas stood out as especially tasty. While the food was flavorful, some dishes leaned a bit on the salty side. The service was attentive and friendly throughout, adding to the overall pleasant experience. A nice place for a casual meal with good company in a lovely setting.

Unbelievably bad/non-existent front of house service. A huge queue to get in and an abundance of apparently empty tables. We walked away after 15 minutes waiting with no acknowledgement of our presence. My wife did manage to sneak into use the lavatory… well words cannot describe. Not what I would expect from a place like this in the is part of London. Poor.

Service was bad. We had to wait 30 minutes for drinks to come. Waited 50 minutes for the food. Kept asking for the bill. Nahhh, don’t recommend

Polio came recommended. We made a mistake in reserving (wrong location) but we were seated nonetheless. Service felt rushed and impersonal despite house not being full and no queue. Salads and crostini very good, mains (canelloni) were nice but not exceptional.

We stopped for a quick lunch. Friendly service and the food was extremely good value for central London. Excellent place to pause for a moment and refuel. We sat outside, and it was a warm day so we didn’t need the overhead heater—though the waiter offered to turn it on when we arrived. The chairs were not very comfortable, but for a quick lunch that didn’t matter. I didn’t use the washroom, but everything outside was clean. The service was very efficient. We were offered tap water when we arrived, which was a good start (always feel a bit uncomfortable if I have to ask for it!) The food was nice—not massive portions but very good for the price. (Hungry people would want to order some side dishes and maybe some bread.) Elderflower Fizz very refreshing.

Impromptu stop on way home. Talked into staying for a drink which then turned into food. Fantastic and can’t wait to come back. Great food, wine and service.

We booked Pulpo for a friends birthday get together and hadn’t been before but we will definitely be going back. The food was fantastic, we loved the cosy, bistro vibe and the staff were great. They even surprised us with a birthday cake of tiramisu and a limoncello each which was unexpected but very welcome. Great venue, food and staff.

Just home from a wonderful visit to Polpo, where we were celebrating a friend's birthday. We were welcomed with a glass of bubbly, which was a really lovely touch. The food was 17/10! It couldn't be faulted. We shared potato and truffle crochette (possibly the food of the angels), zucchini fries, pumpkin ravioli, a pizette, and watercress, artichoke and pecorino salad. All ridiculously tasty. I may dream about it all tonight! The birthday girl was then surprised by a huge slice of tiramisu, complete with candle. The service couldn't have been better either. It was super friendly and wonderfully helpful. It was so lovely and relaxed, and never felt rushed at any point. We are already planning our next visit. A perfect lunch. Thank you Polpo!

Food and atmosphere were lovely, service however wasn’t great, our bottle of wine was forgotten about, had to order it twice then was left on the side ready to be bought out, although didn’t for about 15 minutes with staff passing by chatting, our desert was also forgotten and saw staff whispering about why there were still deserts spoons on the table as they were closing the kitchen, that was also a bit awkward as before we had even got our desert we saw staff eating food and saying goodbye to each other for the night. Not sure if it’s related by seemed odd that one of the diners I was with threw up a couple of hours after the meal, not sure if it was the prawns ?

Good for pre theatre/ concert eating. Nice ild room with wooden ceiling. Staff very efficient and friendly. Food is fine.

The restaurant staff, particularly the host on duty on March 1, 2025, around 4 PM, was rude, exhibited racist behavior, and had a bad attitude. While the food was decent, the staff urgently needs proper training. This is the hospitality industry, and such behavior will only drive customers away.

Our first visit and hopefully not our last. Delicious food and the staff are friendly and attentive. Good ambience.

I recently dined at Polpo and had a delightful experience. The atmosphere was charming and inviting, thanks in part to Irene Witty’s warm hospitality. Monty provided exceptional service, being both attentive and considerate throughout the evening. Chirag and Chamu were also wonderful, contributing to the overall pleasant vibe. The food was a highlight, with each dish bursting with flavour. The chili and garlic prawns were perfectly cooked with just the right amount of heat. The beef shin rigatoni was rich and comforting, a true standout on the menu. The water artichoke salad provided a refreshing balance to the more robust dishes. To accompany the meal, I tried the Rita midi, which complemented the food beautifully. I ended the evening with an affogato – the perfect sweet finish. Overall, Polpo delivered an exceptional dining experience with its delicious food, charming atmosphere, and outstanding service. I highly recommend it!

Our second visit and we cannot fault either time! Glorious selection of tapas and Cicetti at a good price. Particular stars of the show include their arancini, pizettes and octopus. Their service has been excellent and the layout of the restaurant is cozy and classic.
