Standard cafe cuisine but beautifully prepared and at a good price point. And the views …. Talk about location location location! We have visited many times over the years and are never disappointed.

An excellent little cafe with magnificent views especially from the outdoor tables. Food was of very high quality as usual and the staff were efficient and polite. Unfortunately the owners are leaving after this season and we send them our best wishes for the future, thanks for the enjoyable years we've visited. Hopefully whoever takes over the place can carry on as before without changing the character and ambience at all.

We had two cream teas here and a slice of warm chocolate cake on a Saturday morning in May. It was fairly busy, but we had a nice table outside. We had two plain scones each, which were quite light with just enough jam and cream. Everything was nice. Lovely setting.

Have been coming to this cafe for years,it has spectacular views and really that's why everyone goes. We holiday in this part of Cornwall every year at least once. This year, the staff are unfriendly and somewhat haughty, we were given a singular little sachet of salt with our fish and chips,my son asked for another and the waitress rolled her eyes at him. The fish and chips were swimming in vegetable oil, small piece of fish, cheap frozen french fries and a spoon of peas. Another visit one of the party had the ploughman's lunch, basically two small pieces of very bland non descript cheese when I asked the waitress what cheeses were in it she said a yellow one and an orange one! You also got a bit of salad,a pickle, small bit if relish and half a very small baguette (french type stick) which had been toasted for some reason. I think it was £10.50.I asked if I could please have a bit more bread and was told it was another pound! There's no welcome, no friendliness, they have amazing views and it's a good job because the food is very poor and their attitude is dreadful. I watched as an elderly gentleman asked for the toilets and was told he would have to go up the ( very steep) hill and use the ones on the national trust car park (a good fifteen minute walk away for him) yet they have a toilet they just won't let customers use it! Last year the waitress who doesn't seem to be there anymore, she was older, friendly and gave the dogs treats said quick use it now whilst the boss isn't looking they don't want customers using it! How can you run a busy cafe with no toilet facilities or anywhere for people to wash their hands? We've now started going to Wave crest just a bit farther up, spectacular views and the food and welcome couldn't be more different plus they let you use the loo!

Polpear Cafe: A Breakfast to Remember Polpear Cafe served up an absolute cracker of an English breakfast! The food was hearty, delicious, and incredibly good value for money. It was the perfect start to the day. But the breakfast wasn't the only star of the show. The views from the cafe are simply breathtaking. It's a real treat to be able to enjoy a meal while watching seals play in the sea. The staff were also lovely, adding to the overall wonderful experience. If you're in the area, I wholeheartedly recommend giving Polpear Cafe a try. You won't be disappointed!

Went here for a cream tea. Sadly we did not enjoy the scones. It was like eating air and the jam and cream were in paper dishes instead of china which did not work for getting the jam and cream out of. The view is superb and the service was great but please try out a different scone recipe.

Always on our list when visiting Cornwall. Lovely walk along the cliffs followed by a delicious lunch here. The staff are so friendly and helpful. This time we had the crab salad / luxury fish pie . Fantastic 60th birthday breakfast for my partner. Beautiful food as always, and Lucy is friendly every time we visit. She manages Polpeor brilliantly. Very dog friendly and great views. Look out for seals. Our local friends in the village eat here too. If locals use an eatery, it is nearly always good. We have eaten here year after year and we can't fault it. Top tip # 1.. use the toilet in the lighthouse carpark before walking down to the point as there isn't a toilet at Polpeor. Top tip # 2 ..If you have binoculars take them with you!

We stumbled across this cafe by chance and it was such a lucky find. The views are spectacular and this is the most southerly cafe in the uk. The staff are so friendly and helpful. The food was delicious I had a ploughman’s which was very tasty and my fiancé had fish which he said was excellent. I think it probably gets pretty busy in summer so I guess probably good idea to book ahead in high season.

We were looking forward to a hot drink on a very blustery afternoon. The waitress service was friendly and very quick but my hot chocolate, waa a disappointment. I declined whipped cream on top but the drink was hot, chocolate flavoured water. Wonder why hot milk not used to make this particularly as it was £3 or so.

Wow, this cafe is incredible. We were a large group with 4 separate families within that group. The large party did not bother the staff at all, they managed it without any panic which was nice to see. Everyone got their orders quickly. my family ordered main meals. The portion sizes were great. On the menu it said chips only came with meals but when we asked the waitress she said it was fine to order just a portion of chips. My husband had a bacon sandwich. The bread was nice and chunky and there was a decent about of bacon within the sandwich. It also came with a decent amount of salad as well. My three year old had a decent portion of sausage chips and beans. The rest of the party all had a cream teas. The staff said they would be more than happy to get more jam or cream if anyone needed it. I was incredibly impressed by the cafe and the staff luckily we live locally to the lizard so we will be visiting again. It was lovely to see that despite the fact they were busy you were treated like you were the only people there.

Very disappointed, have been visiting this cafe for many years now and have enjoyed a few nice breakfasts prior to a walk, it appears this cafe is under new management or ownership, you now have to wait to be seated and no longer get a choice as to where, if you are a party of two you will usually get shoehorned into a corner as they concentrate on bigger parties, we’ve now had three bad visits in a row, all with issues or missing ingredients, the only consistency is poor quality and not cooked well, at this price point ingredients should be better using local products as it once was, you are now only paying for the view it seems, I will no go elsewhere

This is a very nice cafe perched atop the cliffs with glorious views out to sea. We stopped off for a drink and something to eat. The Veggie burger was excellent. Plenty of seating both inside and out, along with friendly and helpful staff.

The greatest location spoilt by terrible fish and chips ! Having saved having traditional fish and chips all week waiting for that special location we thought we had found the spot !fantastic views, great staff and dog friendly however the fish and chips were a total let down ! Expecting something really good as advertising fresh fish, we received half cooked battered fish, and thin frozen French fries! Couldn’t eat the fish as the uncooked batter was still coating the part cooked fish ! As we were on a time limit we didn’t say anything to the staff as they had been so accommodating and had already told us these were the last two cod available… sadly a spoilt lunch that weren’t cheap at £14.95 each…. Very disappointed and left feeling unwell all afternoon ☹️

Nice cafe with spectacular views and hasn't changed for as long as I can remember. A little cramped on the inside, but you could say the same for most cafes I suppose. Large menu with plenty of options and reasonable prices. Scones for the cream tea were soft and really big (I have a really sweet tooth but I'd struggle to eat 2 so I'd recommend sharing a cream tea between 2 people if you can). Had lunch there on another day (lasagne and ploughmans) both of which were nice enough but nothing to get excited about. Waitresses on both occasions were very nice and one even came outside to point out seals to customers and hand out binoculars. Overall recommended as a decent place to get lunch or a snack when down at the point.

We have been visiting this lovely cafe for many years. The food is excellent and the views are fantastic. Today our experience was spoilt because of the staff. Normally there is a really relaxed atmosphere. If you want to sit outside to eat you just chose the table you want and someone will be there to take your order. We were met with someone trying to promote food we didn't want and then we were pushed onto a table we didn't want. She even told my husband to move his chair back into position as he had changed it to be able to see the sea better !!! A couple sitting next to us had a similar experience with the attitude and because of that decided to just have a drink and go and eat elsewhere. Please don't change the relaxed experience !!!!

Been coming to this cafe for over 20 years and it never disappoints. Friendly service and now one of the staff sharing her binoculars to help us view the local seals. I enjoyed the mackerel salad and my wife the plate of sea bass.

Stunning view and even the seals made an appearance. Had the fish platter and crab sandwiches for lunch, both excellent. Service from the staff as always was brilliant and smiley.

Popped in here for a cream tea, deliciously warm scones with jam and clotted cream, a real treat. Very reasonably priced. The staff were lovely, very friendly, would definitely recommend.

The ice creams here are beautiful! Really generous portions and are very well presented. The customer service we received was outstanding, my daughter had a massive meltdown (ASD) and they were nothing but supportive, understanding and helpful. We'd had a very tough day today with meltdowns galore and this one was by far the worst of the day yet I never felt alone or judged. People like you make the biggest difference and I am so very grateful for you going out of your way to help and care. Thank you x
